Hi everybody. I have hard bricked my phone. I have a warranty with best buy. Can I bring it to them or they will know that I root it
Sent from my SGH-I337M using xda app-developers app
I'd check your warranty to see if it's still under warranty since you rooted it. If it doesn't turn on it'll be hard to see anything.
Mine also hard bricked. Sent it back to samsung for repair, no issues other then the almost 4 week turnaround.

So you got your phone back with no issues?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using xda app-developers app
No issues at all. They placed my pcm board I think it was

AT&T Device Support Center will just swap out the phone.
I will bring it back for warranty

I would try an get the one you have running, will it even get into d/l mode? Reason I say this, you are taking a chance on getting a MF3 version replacement, and then, you may get a device that is bootlocked until a fix is created.
lets try and fix what you have.
Thanks

Using an Accidental Insurance claim for an Accident? Sounds like a real problem. Can you say, "oops, my bad." I wouldn't be posting that here either.

I called google and that wanna put a hold on account for the price of the tablet for me to get a replacement. Is there any other way I can get a replacement. Like where I ship my tablet first or something because google said couldn't ship first unless they put hold on my account which I dont have 500 for them to hold.

Not really the only place you can get a replacement with warranty is where you bought it. Just give them a creditcard number.

You can. I wouldn't expect a quick turnaround though, but this may be common with most warranty services really.

You want to take a $600 phone say it was "stolen or lost" keep the phone and take it to another carrier and get a replacement phone for $150. And you see nothing wrong with that. :banghead:

You have to understand where I am coming from. And it is kind of sad I had to explain this all and you thought it was okay. I did not mean to flame you just to get the point across that this is straight up fraud and theft. You would be making a claim with a insurance company about a lost phone so you could use it on another carrier. That is insurance fraud. I hope you get the point this is wrong. You can get this phone for $599 off contract though. I traded my S3 to Best Buy and had them price match Amazon for $599 and paid $385 off contract. Just save your money if you can't afford it right this second.

I've been searching the forums trying to find out if ill be able to take my device in to have it serviced once rooted. I know ill have to unroot it first, but will the people at sprint be able to tell if its been rooted like the verizon varient?

I unrooted mine the other day and no they shouldn't be able to. unless mine was just a freak accident . I would wait and let someone else back me up on this.

The good thing about Sprint is the majority of techs don't even care if it's rooted. I know I sure as hell don't! What are you bringing it in for?

The device is fine right now, this is just a precaution. I've had techs of both persuasions pro and anti rooting... Im coming from the E4GT on sprint and the only problems i had were hardware issues... No SD slot here so i see this breaking for a software issue? Am i wrong to think this?

All is not lost if you want to go back to jellybean. As long as you are still under Samsung warranty you can go to a at&t with a service center and exchange it . Just make up any good reason and they will give you a new one. It is refurbished but it is a downgrade option.

This is technically supporting and condoning warranty fraud.
Not allowed or condoned here at XDA.
What happened to cracking stuff open and doing it ourselves, now you want to screw a company just to downgrade...
It's sickening. Thread reported.

And he's absolutely correct. Thread closed.
I'm seeing this on my screen today. Anyone know why? Everything still functional.
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep, it could be. Get a warranty replacement.
Would they honor it if I don't have the receipt?
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I would say to try out another ROM and check if its still happening before hand... And usually the warranty is based on imei (at least in Canada) they don't particularly care for receipts here....
Although if you are rooted you would have to go back to stock because they might invalidate your warranty because you tampered with the system...
