Hey guys, debating on getting white or just preordering titanium grey today. It kind of sucks that I haven't seen it in person and ordering the color sight unseen blows. It looks darker then the blackberry titanium grey. Anyways what's your guys impressions on it?

Both colors are nice but I prefer white better :good: Go to T-Mobile store and check it out by yourself then you can decide which color you should get....It looks kinda different from what you have seen in pictures.
100% happy. Both colors are nice but the tiny stripes on the grey one got to me

I bought a grey one yesterday and I love the titanium color. I think it's just a matter of personal preference. Whatever color you decide to order, if you don't like it, try to hide by one of the cases/skins/etc for the phone.
Love the grey - even more than the S III's blue. Not a white tech guy, myself.

I got titanium, i think white looks cheap and girly. It really has a great metal look to it.
Love the titanium colour/strands that are on the back wrapping through to the front/screen!

It seems like I'm the only one who favor white better lol. All my old phones were black and only this Note 2 is my first white and I'm in love with it
I had 3 white phones already titanium grey is better anyway, it gives my note a solid feel.

Good idea, just called and they have it on display. I think I'll be pretty happy with it since everyone else seems to like it, but I'll check it out anyways today before putting in my preorder

I never saw titanium grey, but i love the white one. It's damn sexy. I had white One X and all other phones I've owned were dark colors.

Tha titanum gray rocks and is way so cool, but it differs from one to other. I simply love it

Definitely titanium grey !!!

I got white, my brother got gray and my hubby will get gray too.
Ignoring the actual colour grey or white
I would say on the scale 1 looking plain and 10 standing out, then:
Grey = 4.5
White = 7
I prefer less of a statement, but not none, so grey for me when the 32gb comes out.

So I just got back from T-mobile and took a look at the Titanium grey in person and I gotta say its a lot better then i expected. I have a white note 1 so it was pretty easy to compare since im sure they didnt change there white. The TG note 2 looked a lot darker, the face almost looked black which i like and the back seems a bit lighter, maybe because of the way the light reflects it vs being under glass. I really liked the pattern too.
Anyways I went ahead and preordered the TG note 2, now to order a spare battery/dock
Grey all the way. The pebble blue was nice on the s3, but a bit much in color. The grey is just right amount of loud with the brushed look. Very dull, but shiney

I got the gray and like it. I do not think I would like white but my store had gray only. Mine is going into a case, anyway.
I couldn't be happier with my Titanium Grey Note II... the white seems so bland and shows dirt easily. But like everyone has said, its a matter of personal preference.

i prefer sky blue color but samsung does not uses that color on their phones
I Recently noticed screen burn-in of the Google Play icon (Homescreen Shortcut) on the screen ...
The burn-in is more noticeable in white/gray backgrounds...
How do I remove it if its posible? Tried few apps from market but app logo imprint is still visible

Mother of GOD ! there are other icon imprints as well if I look closely !!
Hope it doesn't get darker than this ...
You won't find away around it unfortunately.
These screens are both fantastic and both sh*t at the same time. It's good technology but it isn't perfected. My original SGS went terrible. After nearly 2 years on it I could see perfectly the alarm icon and almost every icon I had on my home screen on light and dark backgrounds - It's a nice screen but it will only get worse within time.
As others have said only real solution is to keep altering your backgrounds and home screens but tbh I wouldn't bother, you'll still get burn from the time and other icons in the status bar.
Until Samsung sort them out and improve how they work it's just the way it's going to be
Whoa!! That is scary!
I have heard that there is no solution for a burn-in..? Thanks for the advice though. I'll keep changing the layout constantly.
So most ROMS now have an option to enable a Dark UI. On Xylon it's Dark Xylon, Pac is Pac is black, etc.
I'm just curious, does it only change menus to black? And is that it? It just seems a bit pointless having a whole option, just to change the menu background.
Sorry but that's just my opinion. Or is there more to this toggle that I'm missing? Thank you vet much!

Looking forward to someone answering this..
Well the name of the toggle is quite self explanatory...it makes the ui dark. This includes most menus, as well as other general parts of the interface (quicksettings, notification drawer, etc). I really dont see how its pointless...what more are you expecting it to do. If you dont like it, ignore it and continue on with your life.
It saves battery on devices with AMOLED screens
No it is not just the menus and backgrounds. It is also text colors and images.

Its a little more than just backgrounds. For example their is a reason slim ROMs tells you to download their gapps over say the official gapps. It colors anything that is coded to react to the dark ui or inverted mode. In my case the play store and the gmail widgets/app

So it does not offer any other benifits other than a dark look for non AMOLED devices? More or less like a dark theme.. ?

Black offers battery improvements for oled only...This is IPS+ so you're doing yourself a disfavor by using inverted gapps and those real black black themes some ROMs offer. You can Google lg IPS+ tech docs and white is the only color that uses less pwr on IPS than oled.

I find having white letters on a dark background shows better, allowing me to turn the backlight lower, so there is some benefit.

I see better with black text on a white bg, so I can also have a lower brightness. When using black bg on n4 I can't see as well so I raise brightness to like half outdoors.

I know mostly others are like that, seeing better black on white. Bright white is displeasing to my eyes, like bright lights. I actually suffer from a bit of night blindness. A lot of bright white makes it hard for me to read tiny black letters. Turning the brightness down only seems to blur the black letters for me. Plus, when my eyes tire, it only gets worse. I actually prefer white letters on dark gray vs black.

Thinking of buying the Note 3 but really wanna know how bad the smearing issue is cause i bought the Galaxy s4 on launch day and couldn't live with the smearing issue ( my girlfriend also bought a Galaxy s4 on launch day and still has it..she didn't think the smearing was annoying..i hated it )
Could someone with a Note 3 try both things explained below on low brightness
1. Download zedge and search for black wallpapers..then while scrolling thru the wallpapers..do you so smearing..purple glow on the grey background in zedge between the wallpapers?
2. Choose a black wallpaper as background and install nova launcher...then on the homescreen set a widget with some grey in it like the stock music player widget and scroll between the homescreens...and also with some icons on the homescreens?
On the Galaxy s4 doing the above there was a lot of smearing..purple glow visible even after the fix from samsung cause they only fixt it in the samsung framework

I tested Zedge.. Yes there is smearing.
But when you uncheck Auto Brightness Smearing is much much better.
Auto Mode is very dark. In a dark room it gets darker again..I recommend manual Brightness 30 - 50%. Then its really fine.

The purple smearing effect is probably just because the greys blur when moving and they appear purple. Entirely normal and probably same on all phones.

Jep. Black = Pixels are off
When you Scroll the Pixels need Time to activate. Thats the Price for real Black

^^ Ditto, I don't find it annoying, I didn't even know about it until the OP mentioned it.
Ive seen it in Tapatalk 2 with blue dark theme..
Black background and gray Text..The complete Text smeared..
Now i use the classic dark theme (dark grey background) and all is fine
Dont think about Smearing.. i think you will just see it in darker rooms.
Thanks a lot guys...you saved me 750 bucks, some people don't find it that big of a issue like my girlfriend who still has the Galaxy s4...for me it is an issue cause i like to have a black background and while using a black background with nova launcher..on my Galaxy s4 the smearing issue was visible on the icons switching thru the homescreens..don't want that on my next phone

Had the Note 2 and there the smearing was not present cause while displaying black the lights where still active. Bought the Galaxy s4 on launch day and that was the first time i had the smearing issue cause when displaying black the amoled screen is really off so when switching to another color like grey the lights need to become active witch creates the smearing. Sold the Galaxy s4 and bought the htc One that has no smearing but wanted a larger screen so bought a Note 2 again witch has no smearing issues cause the screen doesn't turn of like the Galaxy s4 when displaying black and hoped the Note 3 wouldn't have it but seems it does unfortunatly

OR you could've installed one simple app that would've fixed your smearing issue on your S4. Your blacks will not turn off completely and will remove smearing 100%.

Yeah i'd definitely recommend black. But be warned, once you go black, you never go back
many people here would say black but i personally am using white and i can say it looks absolutely gorgeous and best part no fingerprints!!, been using for a month now no signs of getting dirty either.
was in the same boat as you are, saw a couple of videos and always at the at end of the review the black unit would get covered with fingerprints couldnt stand it got the white and loving it
It's a personal choice.
Ask yourself whether you would dress in white from top to bottom (white hat, white suite, white vest, white pants, white socks, white shoes) or black one.
Get the white one. Seriously. The black one looks like its a s3 clone. The white one actually manages to look pretty and isn't a fingerprint magnet.

I chose Black because my previously phone was white. (Well silver and white HTC One but my Note before that was white). Sometimes it's good to switch it up. White if you like to stand out, black if you like the sleek look. Either way, you're gonna slap a colored case on it. Enjoy.

I think the "finger print magnet" thing is over-rated...got blown up by the reviews sites like gsm arena...so silly...every gadget in our lives is finger print magnet..that is the truth..but it is always up to the user....
