Most times when i change my location from one wifi network to another, i lose the data connection. No more Internet access is possible. When i then klick on settings - wifi, the screen goes blank and i have to take out the battery. I am on rooted stock rom. In the advanced settings i have played with all the options but there seems to be no improvement. Anyone else here with a similar problem?

I had an issue where WiFi would drop out and the notification icon stayed off and in settings when you tried to turn WiFi on it seemed to hang and not show the AP list.
I eventually discovered the WiFi was actually still connected, it was just the notification icon and settings page that weren't working.
I received 2 OTA updates this week and they've fixed it.
What ota ? where i find this, because i stil have this issue ;-( what region You have ?
I have omega rom, and dont have ota.

I am facing the same problem, whether i am on wifi or mobile network, my connection seems to be unstable, especially when screen is off. Once I switch on the phone, I start receiving many notifications at once, So it seems that data connection sometimes gets off and reconnects once the screen gets on. The issue happens on wifi as well as mobile network.
many times I loose connection even with the phone on, after browsing web or using other network related apps. after switching off data toggle, the connection restores back to normal.
Couldn't find any solution yet. On my Galaxy S4 I never had such an issue

WiFi on, put flight mode on, WiFi goes off, but I can switch WiFi on and no problems

Same here
I have same problem.
When turn on flight mode, wifi stop working and can't connect to any hotspot although it show that it has good signal from hotspot.
My solution is to turn off the phone screen and then turn it on again (not restart) and wifi start working normally.
Sorry for my grammar.
The same problem for me and above trick works for me too. N910H.
I have the same problem in 4.4.4. It's weird. Maybe it's related to a program
50% of the time when I wake my phone, internet over WiFi does not work. The icon in the status bar shows as connected with no errors. The only way I can get the internet connection back is to toggle WiFi off and on in the settings. Is there a fix for this? I have WiFi set to always on in the settings. Phone is brand new, Cyanogen edition.
Hi, i can confirm the same. Found no solution so far.

After flashing the 7.0 BTU I have experiencing this issue where I connect to any Wi-Fi network and sometimes it works normal, and shows the icon as normal (Connected) but most of the times both under Connections and the Wi-Fi icon show Connected, no internet even though I do have and can use the internet connection but when it's like this it gets kinda slower, thought it might be an issue with my router but turns out it does the same on other Wi-Fi connections, anyone experiencing this? know of a fix?

I did that and it didn't help, but it's been working alright without factory reset, seems like it might have been an issue with my router after all.
Solved
I did a clean install of Renovate Nougat r85, no change. I noticed that it was OK until all the apps were installed. After a bit of investigation discovered it was due to AdBlock Plus. Removed it all OK, reinstall and back comes exclamation mark and "connected, no internet".

The fix for "Connected, no internet" for me was to disable MU-MIMO on the router (Linksys). After logging in to your router's web admin interface, manually change the URL from "home.html" to "advanced-wireless.html". Look on the available tabs for the option to disable MU-MIMO. I disabled MU-MIMO and now my Samsung S7 Edge stays connected perfectly.
SM-G935F Exynos
My wifi keeps disconnecting during sleep after around 8min. It seems like the doze mode kicking in and kills the wifi.
With MM i had the same problem at first but did solve it with factory reset. Now with Nougat it seems a more aggressive problem.
I tried "always" on during sleep, and tried to set it to "never" back out the menu and switch to "always" again.
Reboot. Clear Cache after rebooting in Safemode.
Reset network settings. Tried both 2.4G and 5G.
I have wifi/BT scanning turned off in location setttings.
Tried different router and wifi hotspot without security password.
Tried several Wi-Fi keeper apps.
Disabled battery optimisation for all apps. Disabled app optimization.
So i even did a full factory reset for nothing.. Damn.
When connected to an AC charger, the phone stays connected.
Seems like the familiar Android Bug. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Anyone having the same issues or anyone with a workaround?
Cheers!
Thinking of going to custom rom with 7.1.1. Or different phone..
Hmm no, I don't have that problem with my SM-G935F...
But I also don't know what else you could try tbh
EDIT: You really sure your Wlan is not set to "leave enabled when charging" only? Cause that sounds exactly what you're having
I am sure indeed, it is set to "always". Is there a config file or app where this setting applies to? But sure i will need root for that..

I had the same problem. What i did is "Apps - Settings - General Management - Reset - Reset network settings". This has solved the problem in my case.

With the setting "leaving enabled when charging" the phone is completely disconnected when switching the phone on. It uses 4g instead and connects to WiFi when screen on.
With the setting "always on" it seems to still have WiFi on but suspended/doze.
Still when charging it doesn't doze at all only on battery power.
Weird stuff..
exactly same problem here but only in 5Ghz wifi. 2.4Ghz doesnt have this issue. I havent any solutions yet.
Looks like the phone is still connected to the router but not "pingable" for around 10 minutes, then 1 sec pingable and so on.. I see it happen on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
EDIT: Without mobile data ON i don't even receive mails or whatsapp. WTF
i was having the same problem.. after i disabled (WMM APSD) in wifi modem settings (router settings) this problem fixed

Was worth the try. But unfortunately switching WMM off on my Netgear Nighthawk r7000, did not make any difference here..
Which custom ROM will be worth trying, based on different base ROM? Maybe the OnTheEdge S8 rom?
I have the same problem since buying the phone, tried everything but no fix
i've found this, is there any way to do it without root?
