Has anyone else noticed that when using Hangouts to vid-chat, the camera is darker than normal? on Jelly Bean it was fine, however after the KK update it got bad. Just curious if anyone else has this issue and how it can be reported to Google (if it hasnt already).
Same here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There was another thread also about this issue and the only suggestion was to flash to another version.
I'm on stock 4.4.2 and I hope there is another way to fix this issue.

Skype works fine, but I may need to switch ROMs cuz camera isn't working on mine ATM. I would like to be able to use hangouts so I don't have to have skype installed as well.
Yeah, skype works fine on my end too. I was only able to try WeChat and Hangouts. Both of them produces darker camera.

The latest Hangouts update fixed the dark camera issue.
Oh, I see. I guess it's just software compatibility on kitkat then.

Does anybody else have issues with using Google's sound search widget? I don't know how this happened, it was fully working and one day it starts giving me "unfortunately, sound search has stopped" pop up messages in the middle of searches.
Could this be rom/kernel related? I'm using Minco and Franco's kernel.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I had that problem too. I solved it by updating Google search.

Through play store? There weren't any updates, but I did try uninstalling and installing it again and the problem persists. Sure that's all you did to fix it?

Yes did a manual update in playstore.

Are you running 4.2.2 with a non .48 radio? AKA did you enable LTE on 4.2.2?
i don't know and i don't think so, i was on PA 4.2.2 when i tried 0.47, 0.33, 0.27(?), i tried almost all modems, then i tried stock 4.2.1 (i bought my nexus 4 with 4.2.2), then i tried CM RC1 but never worked. I hope i can make it work without changing it. Thanks for the reply.

If you did all that then I guess it is a hardware issue.
First for the sake of trying give it a good shake ,cause the earpiece might have slipped for less than a mm.
If that doesn't help then you will have to either RMA or open the device and perform an earpiece exchange.

Before you go swapping hardware I suggest you flash the full 4.2.2 stock image from Google. Bootloader, radio, everything. Then, check if the problem persists.

I bought the phone with Google's pure 4.2.2, tried also original 4.2.1. Same question as before? Is it possible that the problem will persist?
Its highly unlikely it's a hardware problem if you have audio with internet calling. As I said before, flash the full stock image including an wipe with fastboot.

RMA if you can before trying to change any hardware yourself, but this does sound like an earpiece problem
I'll try 4.2.2 stock. I'll keep you updated.
I had the same problem but it was fixed after I flashed the latest radio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147194
Nothing worked (flashing/factory reset/downgrading) so I returned back the phone. The new one has no problem.
I had the same problem.. everything working fine in all apps except for normal calls. Even after resetting to stock Google image. After some digging I found the application Soundabout. It has an option to disable the check if a headphones has been inserted or not. After ticking the checkbox to disable the headphone check I could call again with the earpiece.
Funny thing tough, after reflasing my phone with CM 10.1 it still worked. Even on the stock Google image after re-enabling the headphones check I was able to make calls again with the earpiece. Really really strange problem.
You can find the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=nl
Altough you already replaced your phone it might be usefull for other people with the same problem.
Could anyone who have flashed the new 4.4 factory images confirmed that this issue is fixed?
For those unaware: On 4.3, camera utilising apps, especially snapchat, would crash the whole phone and make it reboot. The snapchat devs said it was a problem with the mako camera framework, and had to be fixed by Google.

I had the issue with the 4.4 ROM too.
yup, snapchat causing reboots. any fix to this?
Still occurs with 4.4.2
It happens with other phones too, not just with the Nexus 4...
Supposedly it's a bug in the code of Android 4.3 and above. There is no solution that I know of. It happens to me all the time so I guess I will have to put up with it. Sorry bro

Hey guys. I hate when I'm not able to figure things out on my own, but this one has me beat.
I recently discovered that my auto rotation has stopped working, I was on the latest AEONFLEX, and I've tried switching to CM11, and also a fresh install, with a system wipe, of AEONFLEX.
It was completely random when it sopped working, and there hasn't been any drops or anything like that, I haven't even had a case on the phone.
I hope someone has had this issue before, because I DEFINITELY do not want to have to go through LG to get it repaired if it were something internal.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Are you on Verizon?
Does tilting work in games?
Good question. I'm actually on ATT, and I'll check the games in a minute.
EDIT: no, no tilting in angry birds GO.
That's not good

I hadn't tried stock yet, but flashing a new modem worked. Like what even? How can a modem effect a sensor like that? I had flashed the kit kat modem and apparently that messed it up.
Its fixed now though. Thanks a ton!!! I thought I was going to be sending this thing to LG

Looks like you fixed it but sometimes its a new launcher so check settings
Nice!
Glad you were able to save your phone
Might have been just a problem of cache or something that was cleaned when you flashed the modem!
Yet it worked, so problem "solved" haha

Actually this happened to me too. I created a flashable zip to flash the new kit kat modem on my CM11 install. I cleared dalvik and cache, flashed the modem, rebooted and there is no auto rotate. Flashed the old modem back and auto rotate worked?? I don't get how flashing the modem disables auto rotate.

Modem might carry gyro code.
I had this happen and my fix was disabling auto rotate, running the motion sensor calibration on a flat surface and then re-enabling auto rotate again. Haven't had any issue since.

For some reason I don't have the option to calibrate the motion sensor on CM11?
Any other apps i can try to calibrate the sensor?
Hello
Everything is fine except calls. Sometimes when I have a call, it automatically ends. Without do anything. It can happen in 10 seconds during call, or 3 minutes. Clean flash. Any help?

Switch ROMs or back to Stock to determine whether it's FW or HW related issue.

I am having the same problem, tried Slimkat and Mahdi, and calls are randomly dropped, which basically make third-party AOSP-based ROMs unusable for me right now. I am using Videotron's version of D803. This does not happen using any stock ROM. This is driving me nuts as other functions seem to work without any major issues.
