Hi,
When i received my new S5 (SM-G900F), i did the following in this order:
-CF-autoroot install
-TWRP 2.7.0.0 install
-titanium backup install
-Restored my apps (user apps ) from my S3 (I9300) Omnirom backup to my S5
Since that in the bunch I had dropbox, it seems that I have disrupted something because the promotions (50GB for 2 years) is not triggered:crying:
So I can access my files in dropbox but when I check my account, Dropbox doesn't mention my S5 space upgrade...
Did I blew my chance to get that free space??
Is it a way to repare that??
Thanks !!!
Did you already used samsung Dropbox deal on other device? If so, it's only once per account.

Yes, I used my dropbox account with samsung S3 promotion 2 years ago...
The promotions will end in a few days...
On dropbox site they say:
The first Dropbox account that signs in to the app on the device will get 48 GB of free space (assuming the other conditions are met). Each account is only able to claim this promotion once.

Now I wonder, is promotion from samsung s3 and samsung s5 different or not?
I mean, when my s3 promotions is over , will the S5's one take over or am i out it for good???
The only way to get it, is to create a new Dropbox account I think.
You could try resetting to factory settings then trying dropbox to get the promotion then restore your titanium backup. Or if you did a nandroid backup of stock once you installed TWRP try restoring that, then try dropbox, once it's registered on your dropbox account restore your titanium backup.
This sounds like a con. Nowhere on any of Samsung's promotion does it say of you had a previous promotion you won't get this one for your S5. This needs reporting.
This also happened to me. After s4, s4 active, note 3 and now s5 none of them has bring me another 50 go. It's very very stupid. At least our time should be extended to another 2 years, I don't really need 150 or 200 go but the time is running away... what we should do?

i mean i understand they can't "stack" it...but at the very least..they should reset your 2 year expiratoin date from the last device using the promotion
Of I rememer right, I got from s2 and note 102 gb of space. By now 50 gb has gone....at least the time period should be extended.

I tried factory reset but it didn't change a thing...
As suggested, create a new account is the way to go..
I do think the time should be extended at least ( also, I was wondering why Samsung is not making more noise about it, like they brag alot on linkedin or wallstreet journal but not on dropbox).
Anyway, one word, disappointing...

I had a similar issue using Google Books and I had to call their 1800 number and I got them to take out the other devices on the account and I was able to use it again......Let me see if I can find the number
[EDIT]
Ok there's two numbers you can call.... 650-623-4000 or 866-246-6453
I got those numbers from this site btw http://www.contacthelp.com/directory/Internet/Web+Sites/Google?ListingID=142

So does restoring app+data when doing a Titanium backup restore count as another authorization? I don't always restore Google Music with Titanium when I flash a new ROM. I'm sitting at 7 authorizations right now so I'm scared to do any testing. In reality, I just have my Evo and my home PC tied to my G-Music account.

I was able to talk to someone about my account. I just went to
http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/request.py?hl=en&policy=music&contact_type=contact_policy
and logged my info. Got a call with about 2 seconds and they are escalating the issue to get my account cleared of authorizations. They said they would email a followup in 1-2 business days. The guy I talked to on the phone was extremely helpful and said that he thinks that they're looking at changing the method of how they authenticate a device. So hopefully he's not just telling me what I want to hear. We'll see.
wierd... i noticed on my google account it has 2 devices but only those 2. i have never had to remove any before and i flash roms religiously. basically a weekly sometimes daily basis haha and i have been rooted and flashing since january 2011
EDIT: and to clarify those same 2 have been there since i rooted. no others were ever added to it.
It's fixed now. I can deauthorize again.
I know they fixed mine too. I called them yesterday and said I'm a developer and do roms. I know I'm not but I hope that helped

You have to do more than register yourself for dropbox to claim the free 50 gig storage.. Go to your dropbox dashboard and you'll find an option in the sidebar: GET STARTED or GET FREE STORAGE or something like that..!! Go to that page and it will have instructions.

Also the instructions are as follows:
1 Take the Dropbox tour Complete!
2 Install Dropbox on your computer Complete!
3 Put files in your Dropbox folder Complete!
4 Install Dropbox on other computers you use Complete!
5 Share a folder with friends or colleagues Complete!
6 Invite some friends to join Dropbox Complete!
7 Install Dropbox on your mobile device Complete!
BTW. These are the instructions and a complete! will be shown when you have completed them. You only need to complete 5 of them, but you can do all to get more free space. I have hence have the access to about 52.75 GB of Dropbox Space.
Another trick:
Follow these steps with your existing account and select a new account for your device. Follow instructions again. Voila. You have another 50 GB space in a separate account. In all over 100GB of free space. If you want another 50 GB, you can get it the same way, but you'll have to Factory Reset you phone.
Hi all,
I dont really know which forum to post this in but i'll try here..
I am currently using a HTC One X, which I recieved 25GB of Dropbox storage via the promo offer they had when purchasing the phone last year.
I will now be purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S4 within a couple of weeks & wanted to know if anyone from a similar situation can confirm if the Samsung 50GB offer will get ADDED to the HTC 25GB? Or will it be ineligible?
I've done some searching but seem to be coming across conflicted info..
I have found a lot of former S3 users reporting that they are ineligle after purchasing the S4 as they can only have ONE Samsung promo running at any one time but as my situation is from two different manufacturers, I am curious to see if this is possible?
Thanks guys

Hi,
As I understand it,you will only get the 50GB if you open a new account.
This will only last 2 years.
Then, they take it back.
It will certainly not be added to any other account you have.

Who told you that? I have used it on existing account and now i have 105Gb Space (Galaxy S4 + Samsung Note 10.1)
But I wonder if the time will extend every time i add these promotion deals.. That's the real question! (More than likely it won't but we'll see)

The OneDrive 30 GB should be permanent. I use OneDrive for photo backups. I don't really use my Dropbox for much any more. I guess I should start storing my TiBu backups there, that makes sense.
Since the DropBox promo is for 2 years, you can wait until the Note 6 to buy a new one.

TiBackups require root. Right?
If I'm not mistaken if you root latest Samsung flagships you alter the security fuse (warranty issues; can't use encryption anymore or something).
Just not sure if I'll be a fan of rooting anymore. Not an issue with Nexus phone at the moment.

All true. I'm on my Note 2 still at the moment, which is rooted. I want to put my TiBu backups on Dropbox for whenever I do change phones. obviously it will be useless if I get an AT&T Note 4, though.
I'm also interested in the new Nexus now that the rumors are pointing to basically a 5.92" Moto X with a big battery. We'll see what they ultimately reveal.
I'm not super concerned about warranty, and I will definitely root my new phone if it's rootable. I have enough lines at AT&T to bully my way into a free replacement.

Once you've used Xposed, ad blockers, titanium and other root tools that make our devices super-devices, there's no turning back! LOL
If Samsung fails to cover a hardware problem because the device is rooted, they're gonna get sued.

This happened to me too. I'm pretty upset about it too. One of the reasons I chose the Note 4 was because of this offer.

Did you get a list of things to do from the site on your computer? Meaning, when you went to the site on dropbox to download the app, you should get a set of instructions on how to proceed. I'm assuming you availed the 50GB from a previous Samsung offer other than pertaining to the Note 4.
To transfer the data, share all the files from your old account to the e-mail address associated with your new account. From there, go into your newly made Dropbox account, you will see all the files you shared with yourself from your old account. There will be an option to Add all the files currently shared with you, to your new Dropbox.
