Hello People
Would much appreciate if you owners from Galaxy S3's , could discuss and tell me your own opinions for the best Rom that you can get till now for the S3.
Best ROM depends on your own experiences, aswell as when it comes to peformance, battery life, stable and good for everyday ROM.
So people, share your opinions down below and let me aswell as other people in the future know. Cheers :fingers-crossed:
Your Own Opinions And Experiences!

i have been using the Carbon ROM for a few weeks now... its stable, VERY FAST and has the little extras.,,,

Stock!!

There is something with the camera quality that keeps me going back to stock after test driving AOSP based roms.
Tapped with Tapatalk on my GT-I9300 running rooted and debloated stock 4.3.

it's the best for me till now!!
Resurrection remix rom is the best for me!! Tons of options, light, and gives me best battery life ever, although it soft restarts maybe once every two days or so..but give it a try,yoy won't regret...

Read the posting rules, best rom threads are not allowed for a good reason.

[Q] Best rom

Hey I just got a Samsung Note and was wondering which is the best rom?
I've had atrix for a while so I was used to the Rom creators for it but note's rom are all new to me so I cant tell one rom from another that well.. thank you in advance..
Im fine with cassies rom and riversources kernel.
Give rocketrom a try, you'll love it.

+1000 Very good ROM,you must try it
I don't know guys - they all look, feel and work the same to me - honestly I can't wait for some REAL custom roms not based on TouchWiz (which is super annoying) .. If you used MIUI you will know what I mean.
Do you think it will ever happen, or are we tied to S-Pen software embedded into stock rom?
Another vote for Rocket ROM. Keep in mind that there is a file to revert to the stock theme somewhere in the thread.
These threads aren't allowed but before it's closed... I use Cassies Rom
they are all good... Though we might differ on our experiences with the current available ROMs + considering the fact that though we have same Phone model and brand, but the fact is each of us has unique Galaxy Note on our hands (Example is some NOTE can tolerate extreme undervolting and some cant)... We have about 5 active ROM thread, you can visit each of the thread, read the users feedback and you can also post your queries there... or you can try each of the ROM, have each of them stay at least 3-5days on your phone, then you can decide whats best for you (like what i did)... GoodLuck...
Hi there,
I know this is an old thread, but since it was the first one I found when I was searching for good Roms, I figured I'd post my experience here. I've been using RocketRoms for a while now and find them clean and they work well. I've also been playing around with Franco's kernels, and so far I've never seen such great battery life as I have today with RocketRom v22 and Franco kernel 7. Once ICS roms become more stable I'll switch over, but I'm so pleased with performance now that I'm reluctant to switch over too early.

Very smooth, no lag, great battery life.
stock LA1 + Franco/Abyssnote kernel here. Usability of Kernel depends on your note
As far as GB roms go I had great success with Darkyrom.
I've recently gone over to Midnote ICS - and so far it's the best of the current crop of ICS roms.
If you really need your phone to work every day without fault, go with darkyrom.
If you want the newest bells and whistles, go with midnote.
I've tried most of the GB ROMs, and personally, there is only this 'refined' one which i always go back to... DarkyROM
Run it with Franco kernel, you got a bloody satisfying setup

These sort of threads always take a wrong turn and turn into flame war. There is no best rom for one user. Read the information available and make your own decision.

Best N7 ROMS?

Looking to get a N7 soon when the price drops start. Was wondering what do you guys think the best ROMs out so far are. Looking for silky smooth usage for the most part. Mainly will be used for web surfing, so whatever can make web pages load faster would be nice!
Will be using a different kernel that will allow better battery life as well.
So opinions on best ROMs? Would be nice if you've tried many recent ROM's to provide feedback on
If its mainly for surfing then stay on stock, install aosp browser as chrome is slow and switch to franco kernel.
A rom will not make amything faster only a kernel can. You can turn off animations to speed it up but even stock rom can do that.

I still want a different ROM. Such as Glazed Jelly bean, Paranoid or whatever they were. They were visually a lot more pleasing, and the ROMs themselves I believe were leaner as well?
Just wanted to see what everyone was using as their main ROM atm.
I really can't say there is a best ROM or even best kernel.. When I was new to Android a few years back I was a flashaholic.. OMG NEW ROM!!! AND IT HAS A COOL TITLE AND SLOGAN! MUST [email protected]!#@!! Now a days... I pick a ROM, I pick a kernel that looks like it's frequently updated, well maintained and has an engaging developer and stick with it. There really is no best.. Just the one that suites your needs.. Speed.. Eh.. Unless you're a benchmark or FPS junkie almost any ROM on the N7 is going to fly.. This tablet is a beast..
Just read the threads in development.. Look to see what's up to 4.1.2 standards, see what is frequently updated, see what users feedback is, see how the dev responds to feedback, look at the features... Pick three and try them out.. I guarantee one will trap you and that's the one for you.. It'll just hit you.. A ROM that is the `best' for me may not necessarily be the best ROM for you.

This is great advice! I've lost count of how many ROMs have been on my n7 now. I settle on one for a week or so, then get itchy feet and try another ;p Grass is always greener and all that!
I recommend stock rom ,stablet
I am using paranoid android. The screen looks much bigger in tablet mode + the option of expanded desktop. Combined with franco kernel its a winner. I use my device for gaming and now franco has gpu freq change on the fly so it suits me well.

I'm running cyanogenmod with Franco kernel, after having a lot of trouble from another rom. My advice is to make sure a rom has been out a a day or so and read the thread to make sure there are no major problems.

Guys, isnt there a similar thread already - > Which ROM are you running?
Thread Closed
There is no "best" ROM for a individual user. Different ROMs offer pro and cons, so it best for users to read the Development threads and make the own informed decision based on there needs. People often get a little over passionate about there preferred ROM, so these type of threads are best closed before the flames begin. The only exception to this is poll threads to determine the number of users using different ROMs.

The best custom rom is the one that works best for you. What are you looking for ? ICS / JB / Hybrid ?? They are all available here, and they are all just a bit different from each other based on the developers choices and flair.
I've flashed them all, and whereas one may fit my needs better than another - it does not make the other a bad rom, just not my choice.
With respect to the time and effort of all the developers here - they are all the best, choose the one that you like best
Good luck and happy flashing !!!
Regards,
:good:

This question is FORBIDDEN! lol
No one can really say which is best. Just check out each ROM's thread and see what they have to offer and try them out. You never know which one is best (for you) until you've tried them out yourself.
I've tried out a few different ROMs and have switched between them quite a bit.
For example:
If you're into the look of pure Android (AOSP):
AOKP is very popular, full of customization, so if you're looking to tweak every little thing, it might be great for you.
CyanogenMod is super popular, has a good amount of customization, but not as much as AOKP
Paranoid Android is great too, especially if you want options to switch between Phablet, Tablet and Phone UI
If you like Samsung's stock look and feel (TouchWiz), but just want to debloat then something like Tab2lite is a good way to go.
This is the development thread! Post questions in the q/a thread only!!

Anybody on xda should know by now that nobody will tell you that. Even if the amount of time and key pressed telling you to search for yourself is actually no less than to just tell you a recommendation. I'm using the aokp rom right at about the top of Page 1.

AOKP Milestone 1 is pretty good, amazing battery life.

Cm9/10 are both super stable. Aokp is like cm10 but its got more customization and overclocking built in.
To each his own, try them all and pick one.

hello,
I'm looking for the custom rom that works better than the other and that is most current.
thanks
Milestone 1 - Calls not working bluetooth (P3100)
CM9/10 - Calls not working bluetooth (P3100)
JB OTA Leak - Calls bluetooth OK (P3100)
First of all, the Development forums throughout the site are for development releases, not questions. Q&A forums are the correct place for all questions.
Secondly, as explained above there is no "best rom". Try several and see what suits you best. You can easily spend time reading what has already been written about them and make educated decisions from that.

[Q] Best ROM for battery life performance etc

Hiya guys,
I have been using an S3 for the last year or so and then recently migrated to an S4. I was using Wanam ROM until he recently announced that he was no longer gong to support phones he does not own. i understand this standpoint but am gutted all the same by his decision as i found his ROMS suited me very well indeed all round.
I am looking for something as functional but bloatfree and something that performs both in power and battery terms.
Is there any suggestions from you guys as to a new ROM choice for me bearing these requirements in mind?
I have had a lok around the forum and am looking at CM and Echoe at the moment but am very unsure as to my next move, im sitting here itching to flash this new phone and would appreciate your input.
Best rgards
LandUzu
There's no such thing due to different phone setup/phone usage/etc. Try a bunch of roms until you find one that suits your needs (mods will be closing this thread soon).

What is the best rom for S4-I9505 ?! ( BEST BATTERY,PERFORMANCE )

Hi, what do you think is the best rom for S4 ?! And what rom do you use? Thanks
Hi,
As it's commonly said there's no such thing as best ROM, your best bet would be to go through your device subforum and read the threads for one that would satisfy your needs.
One thing I can suggest is that by my experience, AOSP based ROMs had better performance and battery life than TouchWiz based ones. That may help you on making a smaller search.
All the best,
~Lord

Thanks i appreciate that.:good:
For my GT-i9505 i use Optimized CM13, for me it much better than touchwiz
Any ROM is better than TouchWiz.
It's not TouchWiz that's bad, it's the fact that it needs a lot of resources to run.
