Any difference between different Galaxy S5 versions? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any difference between different GS5 versions? I am looking at Galaxy S5 and its accessories. A slim extended battery on MPJ cached my eyes and I noticed that it is compatible with SM-G900M, SM-G900A and etc. Does it mean there is no difference between different versions of Galaxy S5?

I like that it's easier to use than the note 3 because of its size. battery life is about the same as the note 3 and I don't really notice a slow down compared to the 3gb of ram on the note 3

[Q] Choosing a Galaxy S4 variant.

Hello XDA! I want to change my 4 months old Galaxy S3 LTE(LOL ) to Galaxy S4. I want to choose one of those variants: i9505 LTE or i9506 LTE-A. Should I pay more for LTE-A? Or it's not worth it? I want to play some games that wasn't working smooth on my S3 but I want to have possibilites to change my ROM(CM12, TW Lollipop etc.). And please share your experience with both devices too
Cheers!

The GT-I9506 is better in terms of specs. It's comparable to the S5.
The problem is that I don't know how many custom roms there are for that device.
I own an GT-I9505. In terms of roms there are plenty to choose from.
Performance-wise the GT-I9505 does not compare to the GT-I9506.
I don't think the GT-I9505 will have problems with the game your S3 had problems with.
GTA San Andreas runs smooth on this device, so does Asphalt 8. The newest Brother in Arms also run pretty smooth. Haven't tried any other high-end games. But the S4 shouldn't have any major problems.

Thank you mate but I've decided to choose Lenovo K3 Note it's better in performance(Antutu score is really close to Meizu MX4) and it has bigger screen what is the most important for me now

Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Lollipop ROM port possible?

I was wondering if it's possible to port the 5.0.2 update from Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 T-53X to S3 Neo since they share Snapdragon 400 MSM 822X.
The same was done to Galaxy S3 i9300 and Note 10.1 N8000 before the Note 2 and S3 LTE updates were rolled out and used as bases.
I heard that some devs have tried to port it, but they failed.
What's the problem, RIL?

Galaxy Tab 4 is a tablet and S3 Neo is a phone, DPI problem. We can port S5 Mini Lolipop.

There wasn't such a problem with S3 and Note 10.1 so DPI or the fact that one is a phone and the other is a tablet is not the real issue. Kernel would be an issue but I try to get where the porting process stalled. Also good luck trying to make a port from an Exynos 3470 to a Snapdragon 400 device, it just won't happen, if people can't port Tab 4 10.1 ROM anything else goes to the "impossible task" realm.
Their is also Galaxy tab 4 8.0 & mixing is with E5 (launcher UI & cetera if it's a 32 bit build) is probably not a bad idea (as they have same amount of ram)...

s5 mini vs alpha vs ..

Hi
I'm trying to find a good sub-5" smartphone for ~$200. Looks like my options are s5 mini, galaxy alpha, a3 and sony z3c. I don't want another glass phone after having nexus 4 (way too fragile), which rules out a3 and z3c.
What are the opinions on s5 mini vs galaxy? As I understand galaxy is not water-proof, has smaller battery and no SD, anything else? What are the main problems of s5m?
Thanks!
What is the exact model of the other Samsung model? Even S5 mini has more than one variant... Do you need a Dual SIM device?
In any case there are sites that compare models, just search on internet "model1 vs model2" and you should get a few comparisons.

galaxy alpha on either exynos5 or snapdragon 801. g800f for the s5 mini as I need LTE. Dual SIM not needed.
All the sites provide just basic feature to feature comparisons, saw all of them. I'm more interested in real life experience like durability, real battery performance, buggyness etc
The Galaxy Alpha costs significantly more than an S5 mini from what I gather (100$ difference in some cases). If you're after performance the Alpha is an obvious choice. It's only downfall seems to be it's tiny battery. The S5 mini doesn't fare much better on the battery front but it's bigger and the device will consume less by comparison. The S5 mini will also evidently be much more rugged, plus it has as much gimmicks as it's flagship older brother(Good or bad). The Alpha on the other hand has a better camera, bigger screen, more RAM and appears to come in an LTE version despite what you claim. The choice of these two depends on how long you intend to keep the phone and how well you'll take care of it. The S5 mini will perform well enough (not perfectly) but can be more readily replaced if broken, whilst the Alpha will be much smoother, but won't survive the accidental dunk in the pool.

I9506 or s5

I could never find a normal size phone. Thinking of i9506 or S5. Which would you all get? Performance seems almost same. I'd like to install CM. Thoughts? Thanks.

S5, no discussion.
The S5 has features that are missing from the GT-I9506. Fingerprint sensor is the best example.
Anyway, just don't get the S5 Neo.
