Hi!
I know that Official KK is gonna be available soon for our phone, so I was thinking about small comparison of all camera modes, before and after KK.
I have latest official available soft(Non Network carrier phone/Spain): 4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101 no root or any modifications.
Images are taken in full res without stabilization(Normal Mode of course).
Time: 18:00.
Sun is a bit behind left side of building, but still visible in the sky(that had few clouds) so we have nice neutral ambient light.
For now images from 15m distance, I'm gonna upload also images from 2-3m but that later.
I cropped images in place when we can see hard for camera scene full of high contrast black-white(bike) but also red colored trunk of the car, and a bit of green on top(small but still). Bike have loots of details so its easy to compare how every camera mode modify scene.
PS I had Polish language set in my phone so I don't know if English names of each scene modes are good :]
PPS I know that some of you think that its not needed, but looking at this images you can also see how every mode modify image so its good to remember if you looking for quick setting up camera
Because of big file I cant upload it to forum so here is external link to image(if you have problems viewing it click HERE):

In this week I try making this 2-3m images comparison in good lighting so we gonna have all camera modes in most common scenes :]
Hmm not sure if that was a good idea.
You should have done the images now.
To compare it it would need to be on the same day, with the same light with KitKat and Jellybean.
You most likely not gonna have the exact same lightning when KitKat gets officially released
But a nice idea anyways. :good:
Man, you did a really great job. You're my hero

Dont worry about that is almost summer now in Spain. Every day is the same: Hot like hell, sun in the same spot, few clouds in the sky. :]

no problem matey ill be workin on more soon i hope
From the very beginning I've always diseregarded pictures taken by the HD2 as they always looked with "washed away" colours. And I am not necessarily comparing them to my eos 400d, they do not keep the pace even by far with my very first coolpix 3200, let alone the coolpix s2 I have now.
They may have nice detail sprint, but the way the colour is so undetailed putted me off big time.
Not to say that this effect is absent in your pictures, but they are the very first I see made by the hd2 that have that effect the least visible.
EDIT: since I'm at it, why not asking if you can provide the registry keys that can be imported after every flash in order to update the camera settings to 5M/widescreen off/grid on/sharpness and contrast+4 and so on? You know I'm dead lazy when it comes to search the registry
EDIT2: btw, are you sure that the flower here

is really pink-ish and it's not the horrible pink stain in action?
EDIT3: for the comparison sake, this is a picture I shot this morning to take a memento of one of my blossoming plants (it was not a test by any means), and all the quality enhancements have been set:
and I still see the horrible washed out effect...
Some of mine taken yesterday, without any fixes, just stock 1.66 ROM...
Hello Everyone,
I haven't seen anyone start a post for this yet so I thought I would get the ball rolling. The only edits that have been made to these photos is resizing and reorienting. I've also made some comments at the very end.

I know some of the critics knock the XPlay for not having the best camera, but I think hardware-wise it is pretty decent. The problem is the software that it comes with, which is the native android camera app. It kinda sucks!
* No touch to focus
* No metering options (which really blows....highlights and all)
* No focusing square to tell me what it's focusing on (it highlights the whole screen)
Thankfully since it's a software issue hopefully it will be remedied...either by Sony for the hacking community trying to port over the Xperia Arc/Neo Software.
Anyways, please post ur photos if you have a XPlay!
Here are some if mine

My son, Taken in darkness
Pictures of one of the "knights" at Camelot, my dog, and my daughter feeding the goats at Camelot. I'm fairly sure you can work out which is which!
I find the flash tends to wash out the pictures, but I believe this is true of all camera phones with LED flashes.
BLT hehe

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I use the Vignette app rather than the stock camera. Lots if options available there.

Can you adjusting the metering with the vignette app?
Amongst the many other settings, yes.
Was bored waiting for some friends this afternoon, so I played around with tilt shift a little bit.

Those look cool. Kind of look like toys.
Hello everyone,
when I got my SGS3 I was very excited. However, I noticed a possible production fault with the display, and I kindly ask any other SGS3 owner to check, whether this affects your phone as well.
Here is what's wrong:
When the you are in a dark environment (e.g. in your bedroom, reading in bed with your lights out - that's when I noticed it) and display a black image (most conveniently displayed with a display test app for example Screen Test - no outside links allowed for me, yet. Just look for it in the play store. It needs no rights and should have no strings attached ;-)).
Once your eyes have adjusted to the darker environment light, you will notice, two things:
a) the 'black' of the SGS3 is - by far - not as black as it was back on the SGS2. It looks much more greyish to me, as you see somehow kind of a back lighting. Don't know why you can see this, as I always thought AMOLED does not need such a thing, but anyway.
but much more importantly:
b) you see (at least that's what can be seen on my phone) little black (they are really black, in contrast to the display) 'snakelike' or 'wormlike' formed rubbish behind the display, which looks to me like sawdust or cuttings. Definitely a fault from production, though.
As I am not equipped with a good camera I am unfortunately not able to provide any photos (remember, it has to be dark in order to see 'through' the screen).
Can anyone confirm he has - or hopefully for you - has not these kind of problems?
The only good thing is, that the 'worms' are only visible in very rare circumstances. But now that I know that they are there, I always look out for them. And that is really annoying .
Like this?

If yes then you're not alone everything related should be in this thread. If something else, try to snatch a picture of it or reproduce it in Photoshop
Thanks, exactly like that. Didn't find it with the search function though. Thread can be closed, I guess
Cuz you're using the wrong terminology.
Those are often referred to around here as "blobs".
Skyrocket and Hercules (both GSII) are full of them.
But when ICS leaked for Skyrocket, it made the dark grey more black and it became harder to see the blobs, though they are obviously still there.
It never bothers me. But when I got a warranty replacement phone for a different issue, I noticed it had a lot less blobs on it than the first phone did.
I'm using Note 4 Duos N9106W. Its camera is not perfect but ok.
Here the problem of my friends. Some of them face this problem with N910C model. How about you?
Condition: daylight and indoor!

It is well known problem of Samsungs, starting from Galaxy S II if I remember correctly.
It is hardware issue, difficult to remove due to lens build.
I've been in Sonoma this week for a wedding. I've taken over 250 pictures in every possible lighting condition. I've been nothing but impressed with the camera. Really low light isn't great but it's better than other Samsung phones. Low light can still get you some impressive results.
Macro shots are impressive too.
I'm sorry you're having an issue but it's definitely not universal.
It is visible in plain scene mostly, maybe you can't see such effect. Conditions must be met ^^

I'll check the next time I find the need to shoot a white wall in a dimly lit room. I don't participate in threads that require replicating conditions I'll never or rarely face to create a problem. It's kind of a 'If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound'? thing. If I'm not in the forest I don't care.

Weird artifacts and camera server failed
Hi,
Is there anyone who saw image overflow of bright areas like this before?
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AiGGuYBSbBE04As9PYQWQ00fT8NR
I thought the screen size compared to my 10 plus would be relatively indiscernible but it really looks quite bigger . Wierd.
I returned the s20U because of the camera issues especially with the main 108 megapixels. This phone completely nails it. I took pictures from all different angles and all different zooms and they were really superb.
Much as I love my 10 plus screen clarity the 20 Ultra really seems to top it.
Here's another weird thing I tested the speed of it on a speed test and it was 256 ms down.
then tested the 10-plus in the store and it was 489 ms down! I tested it twice the 10+: 400+ ms down.
What the hell's with that ?!

A speed test on what? The in store wifi? How did you connect your phone to the in store wifi for the devices on display?

Exactly, so many reasons this could be the case, even cases, phone orientation, is one on 2.4Ghz wifi and one on 5Ghz, if on 5G/LTE are they both on the same mode, etc.
I want someone to point the Note 20 Ultra camera at their current phone with a black background and white text to see if the "across the frame" focal uniformity issues that the S20 Ultra has - are fixed!
Never have I had a phone camera with a frustration level so high in being able to easily and quickly capture text on a computer screen before! I shouldn't have to use pro mode and MF and zoom and do best guess on peaking to hope it looks decent. Readable? Yes, but I'm used to text in photos looking like the original.
My lowly Nexus6 and Droid Turbo take better pics in this regard FFS! :-|
