On my HTC Hero when I flashed it to a new ROM I used this guide which is all done on the device.
I'm about to upgrage a friend's GT540 for him and wondered if there was a similar way of doing it?
Can I install the recovery after rooting the device? Or is the only way to find a Windows PC and install fastboot?
Thanks.
Yep windows pc cus u need to use kdz

It should work if you push the flash_image binary to your rooted device. Try with this:

- Flash stock rom from sammobile via Odin
- Root using chainfires cf auto root
- Install and use triangle away
- Use permanent unroot option in SU app
- Do a factory reset
After that everything is back to stock.

Back up EFS before flashing 4.4.2 - it puts 2 files on the SD Card. Or use TWRP to back up EFS whilst on JB.

Yeah, I've tried with FD variant as I writed in the Thread Title. On official site doesn't even have any of A Series models listed on suported devices, so it's a shot in the dark. :fingers-crossed:
I just got tired of those crap bloatware and games, and decided to give a try, and "voilĂ ", I got lucky. :victory:
