Hi,
I am planning to install the shining new 4.4.2 build (OmniROM unofficial) on my US Acer A500. I have an (*gasp*, *laugh*) unrooted stock ICS (4.0.3, Kernel: 2.6.39.4+, Build: Acer_AV041_A500_1.033.00_PA_CUS1), which I want to upgrade to this OmniROM build. So far, reading the thread, this looks like the installation dependency tree:
[ -> : Depends on]
OmniROM (4.4.2) -> CWM 6.0.4.5 -> skrilax bootloader (V8) -> nvflash
Can anyone comment on if my understanding of the dependency tree correct? Should nvflash be my starting point for installation?
Any other notes/pointers?
Regards.

Hi,
meanwhile i upgraded the bootloader to Skrillax V.9. I think that's the lastest version and it works without problems for me.
Bye,
Florian
Hi Florian,
Thanks for your reply - using Google Translate, I could get the gist of it. Very helpful.
Have you also upgraded to 4.4.2 so far? What version are you running now?
Regards.

I just upgraded to 4.4.2 (build 4 20140426).
I already have installed Skrillax V9 bootloader
I downloaded from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705989
* CWM 6.0.4.5
** installing with fastboot.
** install drivers on PC
** install fastboot
** Connect tablet to PC and install CWM
* Build4-ROM-Image
** Boot to CWM
** Factory-reset
** put zip-file on sdcard and install it from CWM
** put Super-SU-zip on sdcard and install it directly after ROM-zip
** then reboot
It seems to work very well.

That sounds about right. I would recommend blackthund3r's tool though which makes installing the bootloader a bit easier. You'll also need fastboot to load the recovery into the secondary partition as the normal recovery partition is to small.

MIUI v5, a ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070
Everything working, if you find any bug, please, tell me using bug report tab
GAPPS here
Instructions:
* Reboot into recovery
* Make a backup
* Go to 'mounts and storage'
* Do 'format system', 'format data', 'format cache' and 'format preload'
* Install MIUI
* Install Gapps
* Reboot system
If you have any issues installing it then I recommend to flash any stock JB firmware (I used latest Italian), root it, flash custom recovery and then follow install instructions. I WILL SIGN THIS ROM TO BE FLASHED FROM STOCK RECOVERY IN NEWEST ROM TO AVOID ALL THIS PROCEDURE ANYWAY
How to enable swap on '/preload' partition:
* Download this script (Thanks @diego-ch) (REMOVED, FOR NOW. CAUSE: BOOTLOOP)
* Put it on '/system/etc/init.d'
* Open a Terminal and do this to the script
Code:
chmod a+x 11swap
* Test it and give me feedback please
- Test CrossBreeder too if you want.
BUGS:
* In call sound vol is fine. The real bug is that the sound in calls is 'deactivated and pressing VOL- and VOL+ will 'fix' this, is like do that enables the sound..
* Touchscreen in some cases do not work, dies, so rebooting will 'fix' this
And PLEASE, use 'Thanks' button instead of posting "Thanks' messages. Keep this clean

@fedevd You intend to update the MIUI Base Sources?
I used 4.1.3 MIUI build, almost the latest one.. I will keep that build, no need to update it. Now I am waiting for WSM Tools fixed build to test MIUI Xposed modules and I am looking for more MIUI apps and addons..
Also I am waiting for Franco to enable swap on '/preload' partition, hope that fix the general lag and hope find some more stuffs to improve this rom
@fedevd
Low incall volume bug present or you have ported InCallScreen and PhoneUtils' smali part to fix it?
I can't understand you.. You're saying that low vol bug is present or you're asking if is present or if I fixed that bug patching those smalis?
In fact, today I made some calls and vol was really high.. I faced, tagged as important bug, a dead touchscreen.. I mean, when the rom boots, if I do not touch anything and the screen turns off, the touchscreen dies when I turn back on the screen

Not booting for me
Stuck at boot logo, for 15 mins. I can't provide a logcat atm because i do not have adb on my pc right now.
just today I started to carry a MIUI 5, but I could never make it boot
In recovery go to 'mounts and storages' and do:
* format system
* format cache
* format data
* format preload
Then just flash MIUI, Gapps and boot it
Ok, let me try.
---------- Post added at 01:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:09 AM ----------
It's stuck again. I will leave it for 5 more minutes.
Ohh
Anyone else tried? Maybe its just me who is facing bootloop.
I'll try later
Maybe you're coming from CM11? You will have to flash stock JB and flash MIUI
I will try it tomorrow from stock. Need I to root it and install a a custom recovery first to install MIUI ? Or can I just flash it from stock recovery like CM?

Working for me!
Hi! This is an index and guide about the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini plus i9195i
Rooting guide:
I downloaded Kingroot and rooted it there (even though it said not supported, it still worked). I then downloaded Super me and let it do it's magic (delete Kingroot apps and install SuperSU apps). It takes about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you can get your refund from the Play Store.
Xposed guide:
I downloaded the Xposed installer, went to install/update, and it all went smoothly for me. Other users reported boot loop, but my phone was fine, so don't blame me if you get boot loop.

As far as my testing went, all these ROM's are pretty stable and that includes LOS 16. This device is not my primary device though, so I don't test as well as I used to. LOS 16 doesn't seem to have any major bugs. (I didn't even find minor bugs either, but again, I don't test properly.). You need the latest TWRP to flash it though.
Custom Kernels:
Custom kernel by alexax66 for stock ROM 4.4
.zip file (v 0.1.7)(Flash via recovery)
.tar file(v 0.1.7)(Flash via odin)

It works well, normal features work and it seems to make the phone work faster. I found that all kernel features do work, while there are a few bugs (I've come across 2: the alarm clock doesn't work and I can't search for mobile networks/ put new apns in). To make sweep2sleep work, you must insert
Code:
su
echo 1 > /sys/sweep2sleep/sweep2sleep
into the terminal after adding code to the build prop (this worked for me, but after a reboot it stopped). I installed first via TWRP official and then via Odin. I'm not sure if you have to do it that way, but I can assure you that if you do do it that way, it will work.
I would not recommend this kernel, due to its instability, although I did used to use it daily.

wikipêdia:
Stagefright is the collective name for a group of software bugs (or more specifically backdoors), that affect versions 2.2 ("Froyo") and newer of the Android operating system, allowing an attacker to perform arbitrary operations on the victim device through remote code execution and privilege escalation.[1] Security researchers demonstrate the bugs with a proof of concept that sends specially crafted MMS messages to the victim device and in most cases requires no end-user actions upon message reception to succeed, while using the phone number as the only target information.[2][3][4][5]
Sorry, but I have a stupid question:
Can I use the Netherlands-version also on devices that are used in other countries / with other carriers?

Yes, you can, but I think if you wait, your country might come. They just (50 minutes ago) released one for region TPD here. I think I'm going to wait.
I use method described in the first post but with Super Sume v 9.1.9 and xposed installer from the first post and everything work like charm for the moment.
I've done it via same route, it was bit of a hassle for trying to find information about this exact phone. Nice compilation here. Thumbs up.

Are there any noticable differences in this update?
no other than more recent kernel build (11/01/2016) : more secure ...
I added a bunch of disc images of kernels and recoveries (no new releases ) I also added the newest stock kernel if anyone needs it. (Released 11 Jan 2016) Also, TWRP 3.0.0-0 is out for our device, links are there. Is anyone working on CM by the way?
Anyone flashed any of the stock firmware in the original post?
Mine came with the stock firmware from another country, and I would like to flash the one for my country to see if the cell phone signal is any better.
Should I bother?
BTW, will doing that trip the knox meter?
I tried to change Kingroot with SuperSUMe but can't do this, course can't brake Knox. I try to install SuperSU it also can't brake Knox. Wtf?
I need custom kernel without bugs for our i9195i.
I also can mention that the Rom for each country has special BB (baseband - drivers for radio module). But there is no any Rom for my country... So i have unstable signal...
---------- Post added at 05:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:02 PM ----------
How to disable Knox?
There's a new official TWRP release (3.0.0-2) here , enjoy

You've got a interesting thread here to stay up-to-date on info about our phone, but shouldn't you mention some credits to the guy(s) that found the cm11?
I think it's Chrisled2 talking about it on cyanogenmod-forum (i see he's active here also by the name of chrisled):

There are mentions about problems with play store, and playing video files in browser.
But thanks again for keeping us up-to-date!
Could you maybe try and test the infrared-functions with the custom rom? I use it for my television and decoder.

I thought OyyO found it first but I wasn't sure. I would've given creds to the devs but they don't seem to be on this site, if they are, tell me, but I've only seen them on 4pda, a Russian site. The truth is that I didn't test it enough to notice all the bugs. I lost a lot of interest when I found that I couldn't put Xposed on

Hello dear!
Please show respect to another people efforts and specify the authors of TWRP port for PRO5 and Ultimate Kernel for PRO5 you have used here.
PS: I'm the author of TWRP port. It's almost working except some issues with decon framebuffer weirdness (you will notice some screen ui blinking and lags).
Original link to look for further updates: http://xep.8800.org/pro5/
PPS: Be aware of LOCKED BOOTLOADER if you flashing stock rom with this recovery! Replace original bootloader file first with unlocked one inside update.zip or remove bootloader flashing line from updater-script! If something goes wrong in this case there is a chance to get locked bl and non-functional recovery!

First of all, thank you for your great work on the modification of this phone.
But I have a few questions about this rom:
1. Does it support fingerprint technology?
2. Is there any serious bug or loophole in this stock rom?

Hello everybody !
I just have bought Meizu PRO 5 and I would like to know :
How to unlock bootloader ? (I would like to install CM12.1)
And how to go back at stock ROM ?
What is the difference between your 5.6.4.5G.zip and the original STOCK update ?
Thank you in advance
Hello,
when I went from 4.4.4 to Lollipop it was quite easy - I used SP Flash Tool and voila, all done.
Now I'd like to go to Marshmallow: https://forum.xda-developers.com/jiayu-s3/development/rom-unofficial-sandstrangers-aicp11-t3551017

But I cannot find this TWRP anywhere. I have some twrp that got installed when I installed Lollipop. But I guess it's not the right one? The only thing I found was:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58789939&postcount=2
But it looks quite old... I'd be grateful if you could point me to the correct place.
Cheers!
You can perhaps try the 'Latest M.A.D. TWRP recovery' for which there is a link in the 'General F.A.Q.' post on
'[ROM] [ 7.0 | 7.1 | 7.1.1 ] Official madOS - Jiayu S3 [MT6752]' thread.

Thanks!
