Anyway to get pass the lockscreen? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

LGD800 AT&T
Just dropped it and the phone is malfunction.
a. the screen is shatter and touch isn't work.
b. usb port doesn't seem to work either.
Main problem now is that I have lockscreen with PIN on, since touchscreen isn't working I can't access it to turn on On-Screen feature.
USB port doesn't work, I think I can use wireless but again, can't get pass the lockscreen.
I have tried remote Unlock from AVG app which I currently has it running on the phone but still cannot get pass the screen.
I want to copy a few important files over first then perform Factory Reset via Recovery.
Does anyway I can do that?
All feedback and thought welcomed.
Also, since I got this phone for 4 months, i believe warranty is over. Anyone know which reliable, good service that I can send my phone for the screen fix?
Thanks all

Since the usb doesn't work so I don't think ADB pull will help, plus I have to turn on the USB Debugging anyway, which I can't now.

Got it.
Case closed.

Broken Screen with Trapped Data

Long and short of it is a company replaced a shattered screen. Then, the new screen began to peel away and then the connection became so bad that the screen is not functional. I just get a blank screen. I need to rip all of that data off the old phone so I can back it up and put it on a new phone (courtesy of the company that replaced the screen).
Here's where it gets tricky. The USB connection mode is charge only. I need to set it to MTP, but can't because the screen has lost all functionality. Without MTP, neither Android File Transfer nor Smart switch can't connect to the phone. I think Sidesync would work, but I can't install it on my phone.
An MHL cable won't help because it mirrors what is on the screen, but I can't select anything....
Are there any tricks out there that can help me before I have to send the old phone back in?
Thanks in advance!
You'll have to try fixing it temporarily . youtube has some good info

You can try and take a phone with the same os. If you have 2 computers its best (maybe one laptop or something). Turn both the phones off and connect them both to the computers and turn them both on. Look at the one that you see his screen and press the same places on your phone..

I'm in the same boat, have you found a way?

Yotaphone 2 - Broken LCD screen - Can't pass Setup Wizard and use phone...

Hi,
I broke my LCD display a couple of months ago still, I managed to use the phone with the epaper display and eventually reinstall it without clearly writing down the exact procedure (with Lolipop)
Today, as my Marshmallow update freezed, I had to wipe all, thinking well I could easily find the steps to start the phone again.
The only problem remains that Setup Wizard wants us to use the LCD display, and I can't.
The last time I managed to use screen mirroring on Windows, with androidscreencast-0_3_1.jnlp, which is dicontinued.
To that extend, I allowed USB debugging (three lines to add) on system/build.prop and default.prop and copied a file from my computer (adbkeys.pub) to a certain folder in the device, to allow my PC to operate on the cellphone
But that last step doesn't work anymore.
I can see a dialog briefly popping up on the yotaphone, prompting me to allow the computer for debugging, but I can't click.
Droid Explorer tells me that this yotaphone is not allowed in $Vendor (or so on, I can't remember well).
So I managed to authorize the screen mirroring before, to start the phone, but I can't right now, although I found a new app, androidscreencast-0.0.10s-executable.jar.
I would have to copy adbkeys.pub to data/misc/adb/adb_keys, but as of today, that directory doesn't exist.
Can somebody please help me with that?
Thanks,
Hi,
I solved a similar situation by plugging a mouse to the phone using a usb to micro USB adapter (also called USB OTG adapter).

Thank you for answering. And what do it do to plug a mouse?
I've made it : the phone starts again.
If anyone is interested, I'll tell the trick for a broken front screen like mine.
Now I'm looking forward to make an image backup of it as it is very fresh if it can save me or others !
And I need advices for that?
Hi!!!
I have the sale problem
How did you bypass the wizzard???
hi. how do you bypass setup wizard? i had mine reset due to stuck. before im using only back screen. please help!
My front screen also stopped working all of a sudden without me doing anything. I was able to use the eInk so I did a factory reset. Now however I'm stuck since I can't boot the phone without a working front screen. I was wondering if a software issue stops the front screen from working and if there is a way to check/fix it.

Screen won't register any touch at all

Hi everyone. I have an essential PH-1, dropped it and cracked the screen in a couple of places. It still worked normally, but I ordered a screen replacement from amazon. I was able to remove the screen easily enough because I wasn't trying to save it. I connected the new screen before permanently afixing it just to make sure it worked. So, the screen looks perfect and everything looks like new, but the screen doesn't register any touch response at all.
I am able to use the phone with a USB C keyboard and mouse, I'm writing this post on my phone with the keyboard and mouse. Its got the latest software and updates, and aside from the touch screen not feeling any touches, everything is normal. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I've unlocked the bootloader in preperation for installing TWRP, but the process didn't work for some reason. I'm still reading up on that. Could this be a software issue? I hope it's not a problem with the new screen. Ideas and thoughts are much appreciated.
I've tried everything I think, though very cumbersome I was able to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root, and installed the stock image - but still no joy. I then installed Lineage OS but there was still no touch response. I did a wipe first through ADB, before 8 installed the stock image, didn't make a difference. At this point I think it must be a defective screen unless anyone has any ideas I may not thought of? All of this done with a USB keyboard and mouse - switching back and forth disconnecting and reconnecting the phone to the PC to use ADB.

[RECOVERY] OP5 black screen possible broken

Hello,
my OP5 fell down a while ago and the screen turned black after a day or so. As far as I know repair service from One Plus kills the data, which would be unfortunately.
I believe USB debugging is enabled. If I connect it with my PC it doesn't show the device only the default setup.exe for the device. Usually I needed to unlock it in order to have access to the files.
I can not tell if the touchscreen is still working, since I can't turn of the alarm (at 5am...) with a swipe.
I forgot which OS. Probably cheeseburger.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to proceed?

How to recover data after display stopped working?

Hehy there,
unfortunately the screen on my mi9t stopped displaying. Really weird. While I was using it, the screen started flashing, just to turn black and never wake up again. No fall or water involved. The phone still seems to work fine, and even touch seems to work, but no display.
I opened up the phone to see if the connector got loose, but everything is well in place.
Now my problem ist, that I can not access the phone anymore. All my files and things are still on there but unreachable.
Here are the facts:
- no display
- bootloader is locked
- usb debugging is enabled, but my pc is not authorized
- I can blindly get into fastboot and to the lockscreen
- I am not able to blindly unlock the device
Easiest option would obvoulsy be to exchange the display, but unfortunately I can not get on here (South Africa) and shipping would take a month.
My favourite aproach so far was to mirror the screen via Vizor, but unfortunately it needs to install the according app on the device, which it can not while the device is locked.
Does someone here know how to recover the data?
Thanks
and a happy new year to everyone!

When I experimented, I was able to unlock my two SIM cards and Android by adb (replace xxxx by your PINs)
However, phone was rooted and shell was given the root grant:
adb wait-for-device devices
adb shell
su
input text xxxx
input keyevent 66
input text xxxx
input keyevent 66
input touchscreen swipe 930 880 930 380
input text xxxx
exit
exit
try fastboot apk
Mirror screen to pc with vyzor. You have usb debugging turned on, so it's worth a try.
If touch doesn't work, use usb otg adapter to plug keyboard or mouse
There's no other option.

Thank your for the idea! Unfortunately it does not work in the unrooted phone. I suspect that's only because I can't the adb connection to my pv authorized.
I tried this on an unrooted lineage os 17, which I have on my old Mix2, and there it works like a charm.

Thanks for the advice. I think i tried everything to get the apk installed, but I can not do anything through adb since even though debugging is activated, the connection to my pc is not authorized.
I guess I have to wait for the replacement screen.

Any water exposure? Ever?
May not be the screen; a mobo failure is just as likely even more so especially if they use no lead solder paste.
Maybe a loose or bad connector/cable if you get real lucky... and find it.
