Thought I'd start this thread for those who are looking to speed up there wm6.5 phone as well as increase their phones battery performance. Thanks to stanip over at Rhodium Development for heads up on this jem of a program that works great on my Kaiser. This is a must have on your phone. I noticed so many chefs in rom development try their hardest to achieve maximum stability and speed and some are very sucessful. I was skeptical about this program until I installed and applied settings recommended and WOW I swear my phone is SUPER FAST and RESPONSIVE with little effect on battery life. In fact I've noticed longer battery life with Battery hack setting found in this program. I have attached the cab for this program along with settings provided to make your phone FLY try it out you'll see!
Note: Upon installation you will note that the taskbar will turn a greenish and orange like color upon 1st soft reset. Don't worry. Just soft reset once or twice and this will dissappear. Settings and Cab below:
1) Under processes: select highest for all. Select Refresh and select Monitor.
The best part here is the "Add" function which allows you to pick applications you want to add and speed up. Once you add, select highest speed as other processes. The improvement is really noticeable.
2) Memory: similiar to other clean Ram type of utilities. No setting required. Just hit Free.
3) Video speed: I select fastest and disable window animations.
4) Storage performance: Just select all to tick.
5) Tools: I only need battery hack (to last longer).
6) Benchmark & reset to default - as needed.
Install to device not Storage Card
Unregistered version only allows for 1 full system setting. I currently have File System Cache set to maximum and boy does this thing respond.
Wow!!
It sounds a great superb tool!
Any comments from members already tested?
Thanks,
intereting. will have to try this out. thanks.
sweet. hope that this will help my kaiser.
Installed on my 64mb Universal does not even run the app
Now I can´t uninstall.....
EDIT: Uninstalled took like 10 min
Perhaps my memory is very slow...
Any other experiences to share?

I havent noted any battery consumption. In fact ive noted low battery consumption due to the battery hack settings. my battery seems to stay charged longer now but i guess it all depends on your usage. note on unregistered version you can only select highest for 1 setting. I increased file cache to full and thats it until i buy full.

dont know why it took so long to uninstall. on my kaiser i just go to settings system and remove programs and take installed programs off. also dont know if this works on universal but it should cause its built for ppc. google speedbooster 2.0 teksoft and there more info on this fine program.
okI tried it. running it now. it seems to be loading the windows folder much faster and I have quite a few files in it.
I mostly focused on device.exe.
so far the keyboard has not been misstyping. (although I still cant spell woth a damn.
thanks for the heads up on the program... now if I can only figure out how to make these setings permanent in my rom...
Thank´s for the SpeedBooster...
I install the version V2.0.0.10 because of Tyra
I have one HTC Touch Elf 0100 P3450 (64/128Mb) & Onyx 5.0.1 WM6.5, and i take less of minute to install SpeedBooster... I set all like the #1 and the soft give me this BenchMark:

I say Cooooool to this app for now...

Cool. Ive been trying to let a few of the cooks in Kaiser Rom threads about this program noone seems to be paying it any mind so i thought I would just start a thread. This app is a must have. regarding all the settings I think you have to purchase the full program for like $14 to be able to have all, but the way my phone is moving now who needs the others. A little secret if you have advanced configuration 3.3 go into performance settings and enable file system cache set file system cache size to 8mb and file system filter cache to 131072 sectors , Glyph Cache to 128kb hit done phone will do soft reset and be ready to anchor your phone down this baby will fly.no effect on battery either. report back tell me what you think.

One question: i have set it NOT TO SHOW the battery bar. But, after each soft reset, the bar keeps reappearing. Anyone knows a registry setting to disable it for good?
Thank's, Paul
This little program is indeed a wonder.
I've used it on several models, and allways with good results, since early versions.
Best practice tip, from one of the authors of this app:
I suggest you add higher priority to gwes.exe and shell32.exe, and to 2-3 of your favorite programs that are not running fast enough.
Click to collapse
And you can get a free license, check this topic on Teksoft's forum. You can also get more info browsing their forum.
Anyhow, a little explanation, on how it works: it does not overclock your processor. It just assigns more processor time (cycles?), to the running apps that were tweaked to a higher priority, thus making them run faster.
I'm always a little sceptical when it comes to "speedboosters", but this one really works.
I pointed it to
poutlook.exe
gwes.exe
shell32.exe
and applied the rest of the settings as the topicstarter. It gives a very noticeble speedboost in Titanium in WM6.5. I work with the Romeos 6.5 ROM.

install it manually...not by uc may fix the problem
I noticed in the title it says for wm6.5. Does this work with 6.1 as well. Seems as though it would if people with the Touch Pro2 are praising this app. I know I would like to give it a try on my TP2.
+1
Could you please tell if this app only works on wm 6.5. ? or also on 6.1
Also, is it supposed to work on every ppc, such as Diamond I, Touch HD, etc...
Thanks
?

Battery Tips
Disable HSPA
If you find yourself only surfing and checking email, you can disable HSPA for some more battery life. UMTS has a max dl speed of 384 KB.
1. Open the Dialer and enter *#301279#.
2. Press 2. HSPA Revision.
3. Press 1. HSPA R99 (HSPA Off).
4. You're done.
You can re-enable it the same way, except press 3. Release 6(HSDPA/HSUPA).
Wi-Fi Sleep Policy
If you're like me and you leave Wifi enabled, you can have it set to go into power-saving mode whenever the screen turns off. This will not disable Wifi though.
1. Go to Settings > Wireless and network > Wi-Fi settings.
2. Press Menu > Advanced.
3. Press Wi-Fi sleep policy > When screen turns off.
4. You're done.
Corrupt Media Databases
Thumbnails and some database's could get corrupted making the media scanner running berserk, resulting in battery drain.
1. Using SGS Tools, Press Apply script.
2. Select clean_thumb_db.txt and execute the script.
3. This will delete the files that might get corrupted and reboot the phone so the database files and thumbnails get recreated.
Set e-mail to Push
You can set your e-mail account to automatically push e-mails to your phone instead of checking every xx minutes, saving battery.
1. Open E-mail, Press menu and select Accounts.
2. Press menu and select Add account.
3. Enter in your login details, press Manual Setup and then press Exchange.
4. Where it says "Server", for gmail enter "m.google.com".
5. You're done.
Looks interesting ... will download and report
Downloading ROM + Theme - will report in a day or so with results.
[Edit] Ok, so i decided to run this rom (V2.0) for two weeks. Battery life was acceptable, I averaged about 28 hrs on a single charge with average use. a couple phone calls near 20 mins long, random texting here and there, moderate web browsing and 30 - 45 mins of GPS usage. I like the minimalistic feel of this rom and it does seem very smooth. All in all, very nice ROM, and I like the theme as well. Keep up the good work Dev!
Exactly what I've been looking for: a new minimalist ROM (that doesn't skimp on stability). I love the simplicity of the look and the lack of bloat.
I'll be downloading this and flashing it shortly and be back with my thoughts.
Really quick: I know that the KP1 modem is new on the block (from the Armani Captivate). Is it good (battery, signal, gps, etc)? I've been on the modem hunt for a while and never been able to settle on one.
Does one have to be really careful in choosing which modems to pair with which ROM (beyond just 2.1s with 2.1s and 2.2s with 2.2s)? I love having the freedom to flash and test a bunch of different modems, but am always so worried I'll brick me cell.
Alright, that wasn't really quick, I admit. Just craving some modem compatibility/caution wisdom.

I have done some testing and in my region (Southern United States), KP1 is the best for battery life and JK4 is best for signal reception. Both get same GPS as far as I can tell.
You can flash just about any modem as long as it is 2.2, but if you want to make sure just ask in this thread and i'll tell you if it's safe.

I'm actually kind of beside myself regarding how much I was hoping you'd respond that simply yet informatively, and you did.
Really quick, is KP1 necessarily bad in the signal department, or is JK4 just buckets better than the rest?
Oh, and thanks again for the modem info.
JK4 is hands down the best if you care about signal+call quality. It's not bad on battery, but it will drain your battery more than others.

Damn. That's also a factor, eh?
I really liked JPE (2 days of battery at least, nigh consistently), but have been testing JL3 lately.
I'll give KP1 a shot. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe it plays nice here in Manhattan.
Also, regarding the ROM's UI: I take it the pictures posted are showing the Precision theme (clockword flashable?). What does the ROM look like without the theme? Just stock or...?
And, are there any screen animations? Odd as it sounds, I don't really like the fancier ones (I know I can disable them) as they actually makes me nauseous/give me a headache. It's this fine line between liking to see something happen, but not wanting Hollywood to pop up when I want to add a widget.

The animations are stock samsung as well, just quick slide off and zoom in animations.

No, I didn't bother with it. If you really want to remove it just download a JPY dialertabactivity.apk and phone.apk. Those do not have video calling.

I have seen this too.
I was just about to test it
since we have only GB (with Sense) only, this would really improve.
I am only very little sceptical but excited at the same time.
If it really proves to be working well, I will include it as default in my ROM
Isn't this the same as this one?
Which was also reported to be not working (on the HD2)?

as far as i know its not same one and i can vouch at least works on my eu hd2 after using it for awhile about 7hours straight at one time i experianced no lag the one u referred to is by lambgx02 the one i gave link for is by idcrisis and like iv stated my entrophy was 216 before and is a consistant 4096 now if trying out follow his instructions and install apps he states for checking lag and other app for checking entrophy before u install it then check again after you install it and see if there is a difference all i can say again is its working ok on my hd2 with ricks1995 slim rom and i hae not had any adverse reactions on phone and no placebo effect as myphone was a bit sluggish before and is working snappier now.
i would also like to point out dev of this is idcrisis who is a kernel dev as he states on thread i gave link for.

I've tried it for the last day on Rick's Barebone CM7 v2b.
So far scrolling through settings, file manager and alike is definitely smoother.
The browser is a bit smoother as well.
Frankly, with this setup + ice10 theme and lmt's pie control, i don't really care about anything 4.0.4+.
I think i'll keep it for a while.
Thanks for the tip, maddoc1007.
ps. For those who want a power button in lmt's pie control, add a key with number 26.
For a reboot menu, you can download a reboot menu app from the market and set it as long-press in lmt's pie control settings.

Are you guys sure you're not just falling for a placebo? On my thread (the one Marvlesz linked) people said they saw no difference. An article in the portal was published which discredited the Entropy seed generator. If I'm not mistaken, there was even a dev from Google who said that this would never work. If you guys are genuinely seeing a speed improvement then that's great, but I still don't buy into it.
It is described that it really is working on GB builds. On ICS and JB it is not needed because Google implemented similar functionality.
If you do not see difference it is only perception. Technically it is really working in the background.
(it is like you switch the light on using switch in other room. The light IS on but you do not se it from other room )

It's another placebo just like the most build.prop "Tweaks" which make your phone, "fastest".
Ok guys,
Uninstalled mod > scrolling still smooth
restored backup from before flashing the mod > scrolling not as smooth
flashed mod again > scrolling smooth again
Spent to much time on this already and now i have to figure this out because i previously said it works!
Arghh, me and my big hands...:crying:
Edit:
No changes in the build.prop before and after...
Guess i'll have to make a side by side video just to convince myself of whatever i want to convince myself...

If you want a 4.2 keyboard, you can try one from the market
but they all take so long to pop up that it is a bit annoying.
You can try out the new adw launcher if you like (uses ~13mb of ram). The vertical app drawer is smooth
or if you can live without app-labels then the horizontal "card stack" drawer type is smooth too.
Holo locker uses ~7mb of ram and takes a moment on boot, your call.
Hey Rick, i wanted to ask you, does your rom use the same gpu drivers as 4.0.4+ roms?
For example, solar explorer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.burlock.solarexplorerlite&hl=en
is running pretty much as smooth as in jelly bean roms while it lags in cyanmobile eXperience.
Thank you.
ps. If you want a play/pause button in pie control, for your music, add a key with number 85
or choose some from here - http://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/KeyEvent.html
This mod is disabling the scrolling cache. That's why scrolling is smooth and stays smooth even after removing the mod.
In Barebone CM7 v2b:
Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > Scrolling cache > is set to "Force disable"
even if changed, with the mod installed, it will apply "Force disable" again after reboot.
So, no placebo but a changed setting.

In Barebone CM7 v2b:

even if changed, with the mod installed, it will apply "Force disable" again after reboot.
So, no placebo but a changed setting.

So far i didn't have the need for data2ext. Maybe you can try making that NativeSD version.

now that's a good and wise idea
hope that Profile Save/Restore gets fixed for Synapse and we'll find here some interesting presets to test on from more experienced users
Thanks
I'll just list the things that I changed. Cause Synapse won't let me save profiles. Heard it's still being worked on So that's good news
CPU max frequency - 1574MHz
CPU Governor - interactive_pro
Intelliplug enabled with performance profile active. CPU max screen off at 729MHz. No undervolting yet
I/O -ROW with 1024 KB read-ahead.
Laptop mode enabled
There's way more stuff to tune and I'll play around with them when I have more time which will be in a week
I tried 1.2 GHz for a day and it was still smooth even on Facebook which is quite a surprise

For me works like a charm...
Select your Profile then on the top press the checkmark. Then press the "Resore Selected Profile" Button. Now you will get a Toast with success loaded and "Restart Synapse".
Test was done with - CrDroid 5.5 ART.
CPU max frequency - 1574MHz
COU Multicore - Agressive
CPU Governor - Smartmax_eps
Intelliplug enabled with balanced profile active. CPU max screen off at 729MHz. 50 mV undervolting +-
I/O -Deadline with 1024 KB read-ahead.
GPU - 389MHz with Conservative
Laptop mode enabled
TCP Congestion - hybla
Fist half of the day, was heavy usage (playing Leo's Fortune), however I noticed a slighty higher battery drain, when my phone got hot (at earpiece, back&front) after 2hours +- ?.
Anyway, school day was over & I went home and did the usual light stuff, checking Facebook, Snapchat, writing messages on phone and over MightyText.
I'm satisfied so far. Going to try the interactive_pro next.
Idle: 5-7mV
now running @sien1996 's profile (except Max Screen Off Freq. : haven't set that one)
so far ok, will update later w/ Gaming Experience

i'm using synapse on several devices and kernels and thus have to bring to your attention that what you see there depends on the kernel while the kernel you can use and it's tunables depend partly on the device. that's one of the goals of synapse that it adapts to the available tunables, depending.
so i would suggest that you (finally) mention your config, kernel (probably AK ) and device and perhaps post a screenshot of the hotplug tab so we can see what's there and not and help further.

looks like if this config simply does not provide the option to use intelliplug.
most people here are using AK-Kernel on OnePlus One so this config is not widely spread and thus, including myself, i cannot
not provide you with a lot of quality input but certainly you do not have that option. i think (read somethin in git) @ak will
sooner or later make a kernel for the hammerhead, perhaps @ak you would confirm or deny this assumption quickly
however, if that will be the case i recommend to use that kernel or elementalX which i'm currently using on my Nexus 5, which i'm using for 9 months now
with a few never lasting sidesteps to try others. by the way came from franco in late november 2013.

best i found for touch response
this profile is the best i found till now "WIP" to optimize the lack of responsiveness of the touchscreen, especially when double tapping to wake but in general as well.
battery consumption with these settings is around 2% in 9h 30' in idle, SOT is around 7h ( +/-30' ) depending on apps and radios mostly used.
as usual battery performance is relative to config, usage, radio signals etc. so the above serves as a clue. only tells what happens on my device.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
In the process of copying profile files from Dropbox and probably from other sources it occurs that the file name is changed to xxxx.tgz.gtar while to correct name MUST be xxxx.tgz, in this case that would be 888.tgz. if the file does not have this correct name before you try to restore it in synapse it will say: Invalid File further you have to check the "√" sign on top each time it appears, while upon restarting the app "Synapse" which you have to do from within the app not closing and re-opening the app. when the app has opened you have to non-intuitively hit "X" not "√"

Any information in this thread is based on @soniCron's guide here. If anyone would like more information on how exactly this works, head over there.
Introduction
After having read through all of soniCron's posts, I was really impressed and I wanted to test if for myself, but I do not have either a Nexus 6P of a Nexus 5X. I do however have a Moto G 2015, and since instructions were provided to apply his technique on other devices, I decided to give it a go. So after quite a bit of testing and calculating, I have been able to come up with some tweaks for our little phone. Now, I have not yet fully tested the battery life with these tweaks. I feel like they will work though, and so far, performance has been better than before and according to some frequency tables, the frequencies are staying lower.
Some more details
These tweaks should work on any ROM and/or kernel. However, there seem to be issues with the stock ROM, where either the target_loads and/or the above_hispeed_delay are not sticking. Please test for yourself. For a list of confirmed working ROMs, check below.
Your phone must be rooted. If you are not sure how to do this, check this guide.
With this out of the way, we can finally start with some numbers. In accordance with soniCron's thread, I have started with calculating the nominal (minimum required to do anything smoothly) clock rates for scrolling, watching video and loading apps. These clock rates were calculated using the performance governor, limiting the maximum clock speeds while performing a given task. These are only my observations and yours may vary depending on your settings and how well you have optimised your system and browser etc. Be sure to check if the clock rates are similar to those that you need to run the given task smoothly, you should be good to go.
For idle, I observed a nominal clock rate of 400000 MHz.
For scrolling, I observed a nominal clock rate of 998400 MHz.
For video watching, I observed a nominal clock rate of 1094400 MHz.
And finally, for app loading, I observed a nominal clock rate of 1209600 MHz.
With these values in mind, I then proceeded to calculating the maximum and minimum loads that were most efficient. (For more details, please see soniCron's thread)
Here they are:
200000:1
400000:68
533333:50
800000:25
998400:82
1094400:86
1152000:10
1209600:80
These values are essentially the target_loads the kernel looks for. I have also applied some other miscellaneous tweaks for the governor which all helped with performance while keeping battery life. Now, without further ado, I present you:
What you need to do (on Custom ROMs)
1) Make sure you are rooted and have Busybox installed.
2) Download a kernel manager app. There are loads of these in the play store, but I personally recommend this one.
3) Pop the following values in at the 'governor tunables' section, making sure you have the interactive governor selected.
above_hispeed_delay 20000 400000:60000 998400:30000
boostpulse_duration 80000
go_hispeed_load 99
hispeed_freq 1363200
max_freg_hysteresis 60000
min_sample_time 60000
target_loads 98 400000:68 533333:50 800000:25 998400:82 1094400:86 1152000:10 1209600:90
timer_rate 35000
timer_slack 80000
align_windows 1
4) TURN OFF TOUCH BOOST
5) (OPTIONAL) apply the other tweaks listed here
6) Make sure it's working correctly. Check if everything keeps running smoothly. If it doesn't, optimize your device more, or increase the min_sample_time by increments of 5000. If your CPU is going over the Idle speed often, adjust the timer_rate upwards by increments of 5000. If it stays at the Idle speed too much, adjust it downwards by increments of 5000.
7) ENJOY!

Conclusion
I have had lots of fun with observing and calculating the optimal speeds and settings. I hope these tweaks will help someone and if they do, please let everyone know by leaving a post in this thread. Good luck!

Trying out these settings for a while, but it definitely seems more responsive. Maybe that's just a placebo, though.

I'm using the stock 6.0 ROM with Squid's Kernel, revision 14b. If it also helps, I'm on the 1GB version of XT1540.
With my XT1540 1gb on 6.0 and the stock kernel, the responsiveness seems better. I'm going to run it a day to check battery and if that's ok, I'll apply these settings on boot.
One question...on the target load settings I'm seeing a space between 400000: and 68. All the other values don't have a space after the colon so I assumed this one shouldn't either.
me also testing.... xt1541 2gb with stock 5.1.1 rom and squid kernel
for now with those settings and intelligplug enabled (hotplug driver) everything seems little bit smoother than before ... now testing battery....
from what i can see in kernel adiutor>>frequencies tab: some intermediate frequencies are disabled/unused....(533mhz, 800mhz, 1152mhz)... before only 200mhz was unused 'cause min freq was set to 400mhz....

Yes, that is exactly the behavior we want to see. We don't like those frequencies because they are not the most efficient to be running at. The governor is now set to quickly scale up to the frequency we need to do a certain thing (browsing, app loading etc.). If you wanted to be running at those frequencies more, you could up the target_loads on them, but I do not recommend that.
Ok, this is strange, my target load settings aren't sticking. I've put them in twice and after a few minutes, that setting reverts back to 80. I can put them in, exit Kernel Adiutor and come right back and they're there. If I wait a little while and go back, they're gone.

I'm going to have to wait on that, I'm on a soak test for a couple of apps so I need to stay stock kernel for now. For grins, I'm going to try another kernel app though I doubt that's it.
I just noticed that Greenify was closing Kernel Adiutor in the background. Although that wasn't affecting the other settings, I'm going to stop that and see if it works.
My target load settings aren't sticking either, I'm on stock 5.1.1. rom, stock kernel, also using Kernel Adiutor.

It must be something with the stock, since you're on Lollipop and I'm on Marshmallow.
Okay. Thank you all for testing. I will add a message to the OP saying it doesn't work with the combination of stock Moto kernel and ROM. I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, but I feel it might be because of the hotplug. We can be sure that it is not due to the stock ROM, right? Someone's tested it on stock with Squid Kernel.
@TVD1903, I've just tried setting it on stock 5.1.1 with Squid kernel, and target loads won't save.
Welp. There must be something with the Stock ROM that's preventing us from changing the governor settings. It does work here, on crDroid. I do not have the technological knowledge to fix this issue to be fair. If there is any dev reading this, could you please let us know what the problem is?
here with stock 5.1.1 rom, squid kernel and kernel adiutor app everything working....
