I've just received the S5 black version, I removed the original plastic film covering the screen and I did notice that there's some kind of sign around the display. It seems like the plastic film left some kind of mark all around the display.
I know, it's not easy to explain it, that's why I'm attaching a picture.
I mean, it's nothing really dramatic, but as I haven't read anything about it in any review nor unboxing I've read till now. I'm just afraid it could be a defect of my unit.
If you give a look at the picture, you can easily spot it in the left corner. It goes all around the display just like a "virtual" plastic film!
For those of you having a black unit (I'm curious to know whether the white one has something similar too), do you have the same "issue" on your black one?
Thanks in advance
That's just the way the S5 is designed (perhaps it has something to do with the IP-67 certification?).

Well, if you mean that lighter gray tinted border around the entire screen (bit like a bezel), well yes, that is how Samsung made the phone. Everyone has that

Well, it seems like the plastic film left a stamp on the screen when removed: a little bit bigger than the display itself but not covering the whole screen.
Then your black galaxy S5 has it too?!

It's not a stamp. It's under the screen.
When I receive my S5 the 23rd, I'll confirm it for you.
Check some S5 review videos, you see it there as well?
No. But I didn't pay attention to it when I saw the reviews as no one talked about it.

It's NORMAL my two S5 black have it.. all our demo units in the shop has it (5 units)
why should they mention it in reviews ? it's not a defect.

Nice to read it, thank you.
That's ok, it may even not be a defect, it's anyway something really unusual. No other device I had was "affected" by such a "stamp".

Is anyone using the Black Galaxy S III? I want to buy the Black i-9300 and would love to see some pics of it. Would be awesome if people can post some to this thread.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Black GT i-9300 is the exact same as the blue one that was released this past May right?
Any particular problems associated with the Black model? Thanks
My apologies if this has been asked already; nothing came up searching the forums. :/

It's like a white S3 but black.

I think it's either some carrier exclusive or some rather not often seen GT-I9300s.

In that case the pic 1 shows it is blue whilst I am not sure about the pic 2 and, it is possible to use black cover on your s3. There are different colored stock back covers available.

I have black one. One big difference between it and the other colors is the color of the trim. It is not silver-colored, but is more like black chrome -- kind of like the black GS II coloring.
i've seen them all, didn't like the black, it is a very glossy plasticky looking black ...the grey, or even the red look better
Id like a black one they should make all colors or shells
I have a black i-9300, bought it off Amazon. Love the fact that almost nobody has this color. I changed the battery cover though, it looked too plain. I put a brushed aluminum one that says Galaxy S III real nice, it looks complete now.

Peel the label just a little, if the interior have the same color as the exterior (grayish) then is an original, if silverish or mirror then is a fake.

Hi all.
I want to ask some question because I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
I have see four edge+ for now and all of them have the same issue.
On sunlight and only there with full white font or some other very light color and max brightness
you can see some darker marks on the screen like humidity. But it's not easy to located.
Some guy replace the phone with new other and again have the same issue.
I know the edge screen is very soft and particular. But this you can see only with sunlight. With normal daylight or led or other situation there seems absolutely nothing.
Your opinion will be useful for me.
Thanks.
Anyone to try it?
OK guys.
It's so hard to see anyone if this issue is exist on s6 edge+ display.?
Please?
I've already replaced my first Edge Plus for that reason.
The second one came with the same problem
The strange thing is that both phones have same DOM: 23/09
Maybe a faulty batch? Could you tell me your phone's DOM?
Regards,
PuSHtU.

Actually now that I remember mt galaxy s5 had a similiar issue. There were like circular
Dark spots maybe 5-6 of them in different areas of the screen under the glass. I always figured they were air bubbles.
Anyway, if you can only see them when the screen is off then its no problem.
But if they obstruct your view of the display then get it replaced again!

I see on the first day, but a read is a normal issue... I use the phone is sun light 1 time per month, that is why I don't take to warranty.... have a lot of thins positive for 1 bug a don't gone to change the phone. But you can take to warranty if you want mate.
I understand but why do this.
Is normal or not. And how many is out there with the same issue?
On simple edge doesn't see darker marks or lines but the screen is smaller.
Saw this today. Kinda strange... but i saw it only when was applying screen protector and before that i turned off screen and was looking for stucked dust. But saw strange marks... My phone manufactured 2015.09.04. I don't see anything when screen is on so this is not a problem.

Try to see on sunlight with white font and full brightness.
Maybe there you see more.
Anyone other with this?
It's not a "defect", all of them have this. It's when direct sunlight allows you to see the actual structure underneath the screen. Don't bother replacing the phone, because they all have it. It's just the way it's designed.
I have see this on many s6 edge plus and only under the sunlight.
I believe is the same issue.
Is that normally.?
Same here. I see marks and lines on the edges and dark spots on the right half of the screen, similar to the pictures you posted. It's annoying when there is a white background, like in whatsapp chat list or Facebook messenger. I know it's there and my eyes go there. But it's true that this happens outdoors only, under sunlight. Are all like this?
Maybe the screen is thin and you can actually see some parts of the phone underneath like a see-through? Maybe this is normal after all.
Hi Guys,
I purchased the Galaxy S7 Edge from Uae and now I am back in my hometown.
unfortunately my phone is only a month old and i just noticed that the front camera is misaligned by 1mm or so, you can see more of the black ring and the lens of the camera is more towards the right.
Although the camera works perfect and there are no problems, should i be worried?
I am extremely worried as the phone has no warranty in my country .
Mine is a bit misaligned as well. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it works as it should.

Thank God that is such a relieve as I don't have warranty support in my country and if i go to a service center they are known to rip customers off by selling unwanted parts especially to phones without warranty.
Is this normal, I saw this on other devices and some were aligned correctly?
Could you please share a picture of your device if possible?
Yea dont worry about that. I believe most are like that people just dont look that hard at there phones.

You gotta look real hard to see. But its there. Doesnt effect anything since it doesnt cover the lense.

The black one is mines. It has a screen protector on so thats the top offset.
But if you look at the black trim you can see where on the buttom of the camera it has more space then the top as its off center
My wife is the sliver one.
I did my best to take a picture of it. You can see how hers is center.
Either way it dossnt effect the camera.
And fyi these pictures were taken with the phone lol.

Mine is somewhat just like yours, I am glad that I'm not the only one.
Your wife's camera also looks a little misaligned from the right or I don't know if its because of the picture.
It's just ironic that a phone with such a hefty price, one would expect some quality and tolerance?
Hi everybody.
I just broke my phone yesterday and I am looking for some nice quality brand new LCD Display for Essential.
Is anyone here with a screen that has already been changed? I want to know does the new screen provide the same resolution size like is normal for our Display ( I mean 1312x2560ppi) or it is less?
CPU-Z is a good program to see that.
Thanks.

Frankly, no idea, but I think yes... I don't see a lot of prints/smudges on the screen, it stays very clean. Feels very smooth to the touch - better feeling than the screen on my SGS7.
Also don't know if it's real Gorilla Glass (ppl on Amazon were asking). So far, not a single scratch.

Looks like it is oleophobic... The water drop doesn't spread on the glass, and when I tilt the phone and shake it a bit, the drop rolls on the screen intact, without leaving a trail.
