finally a official cm11 forum for the n7. been checking in on my n5 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-nexus-5-t2584004
been running stock and cm11 on my n5 and n7 both with run time ART. stock with ART its much smoother then cm11 but not by much. stock is way more stable but cm11 is so much more fun.
Yeah I love cm11 but I keep getting random reboots which is a bit of a pain. So I went back to stock. However my Nexus 5 runs like a dream and love all the extra stuff that I can do. Can't wait for cm to be more stable.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
So, I enabled ART to see the difference, if any. One app wouldn't run. That was Real Racing 3. Otherwise, snappy app loads. Recent app list loads pretty zippy also. Restored a few apps with TiBu without any hitches. I am running Elemental X and not the stock CM kernel on 4/14 nightly.
MY problem is that the lockscrren only works at portrait, i´t wont switch to landscape.
After unlocking it rotates immediatly.
You can activate the landscape mode for the lock screen by going into : Settings > Display and lights > Rotation and check "Enable lock screen rotation"
That's easy no ?
I'm also running on the latest snapshot of CM11 on my N7 LTE.
It randomly reboots constantly! So infuriating, as it does it regularly using certain functions.
When Google Play checks for updates, reboot.
When a BT headset is linked, random reboot.
When using GPS speedometers (which is mandatory when I'm driving my old Bug with broken speedo cable), random reboot.
Other things trigger it as well, but they're even more random and I can't pinpoint it.
Sorry to leave the glory that is Cyanogenmod, but it's entirely unusable for me with these issues. Backing up and preparing to go back to stock as I type. I'd be happy to help in any way that I can to resolve this.
Please, do you known where is the XDA thread for Nexus 7 v2013?

My experience has been the same.
In the past, I always found CM and other custom Roms to be reliable enough. That was when I had a Galaxy S Vibrant, and then an LG G2X.
Since I've now had a N4 (RIP), N7 LTE/DEB (resurrected) and N7 Grouper, on none of them do 3rd party Roms even come close to the stability of stock. Whenever I try anything else, I end up with reboot issues - on ALL of my devices. I've tried Slim, Carbon, Paranoid, Cm11 official, Kangs, etc. Nothing is as stable as stock.
I'm not sure what cancer has infected 3rd party Roms, but I sure wish someone would get serious about fixing stability issues. I miss the features, but I'd rather have stability.
Xposed framework gives me some of what I miss from custom Roms as well. Some claim they don't like how it "mucks with" the framework and modifies the system... well, so do custom Roms.. and I've never had a reboot issue due to using Xposed.
Hello everybody I have installed cm 11 m7 and I can't find the quickboot option is there any way to enable this or install ?

Do you guys think 6.1 RC2 is better than RC1? RC2 uses new froyo libs made by HTC. Post your thoughts below. This is not a bug report thread.
I've been using RC2 and its been running fantastic. Seems to have less lag and less errors (force closes) than RC1. I was not dissatisfied with RC1 but RC2 seems even more stable and faster. Thank you to all that have helped provided these ROMS.
I like rc2 better simply because of the tiny improvements brought in since rc1 (example: white power icons in the pulldown when using black status bar theme) Exchange support and moving mail messages is finally consistant and much improved.
Both have been solid for me.

Seems to have less FC errors, which is a good thing. Also, on RC1, CM would sometimes reboot randomly. This has not happened at all since I installed RC2... I hope its fixed. I saw someone posted an outstanding Quadrant score after installing RC2 (it was higher than Evo 2.2) but I have been unable to replicate that (though I know it doesn't really matter).
All in all, being an average user, I have not seen anything earth shattering, but it still looks to be worth the upgrade.
RC1 all the way!

There's really no reason not to upgrade to RC2. I can't find a single thing wrong with it and its running smooth as butter.

If you are currently running RC1, you can simply do a nandroid backup and then flash RC2. No need to do a full wipe, so you won't loose your apps or settings. If you don't like RC2, just restore your RC1 backup.
This is the method I used and I was up and running on RC2 in about 15 minutes.
Are you able to search exchange mail and global address lists with rc2?

No, the Froyo Email client does not provide a search function, therefore just like all of the other CM 6.x releases, this one doesn't either.
I gave it a couple days to see if everything was good and I must say that rc2 seams much snappier and much less buggy than 1. Just my experience.
Actually u don't have to backup it restore anything. Every time I flash a new update on a newer Cyanogen mod rom I just flash it and nothing else

I only installed it a few hours ago, but it seems to run smoother than RC1 and my battery's only gone down 1%. Having said that I've hardly used it since as I've been busy.
If I have one criticism its that when you have a black notification bar, your icons are still black. There may be a way to change that though, not sure.
Good work attn1.

I was able to set the notification colors to my liking using the info on this page:
http://androidspin.com/2010/07/29/cm6-ui-tweaks-where-do-i-start/
Menu > Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User Interface
The information in this image was particularly useful for seeing which options change which items.

CM6 is very customizable. I found that when I tried to use sense again after cm6 I couldn't customize as much.
RC2 is running pretty smooth for me. I had seen a couple of FCs on RC1 with the camera app. However, I had used RC1 longer before the FC issues showed up.
Sorry for not spending a huge amount of time researching this, guys. It's not for me.
I'm a flash-a-holic and my friend has your phone model and needs a new ROM installed on it. So I get one shot at this. I won't be "supporting" her phone and flashing nightlies all the time.
CyanogenMOD's site says that CM7 is officially supported, so that's what I'm considering flashing for her. It looks like there are a few threads based on it and many of the dev's have since discontinued support.
Can you guys point me to the most complete/stable CM7 based ROM out there?
I don't want CM9 or CM10 based ROM's because based on what research I have done, those still have some important things broken. Like camcorder or Netflix or 4g, etc.
This needs to be a "Flash once and be done with it" type of deal.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not after the "most popular" or "coolest" ROM. Because I know all ROM's are a WIP and Dev's improve on things daily. I just want the CM7 build that has the least amount of items broken.

Reloaded. Its super smooth. If you only have one shot and wont be supporting, I'd recommend reading into cod tweaks. The updated settings should be linked somewhere in the thread.
And also go to advanced setting/display and make sure screen on/off is checked. Without it, you may have issue waking phone from time to time.
That's about the only "issue" I've ran into on reloaded. Fix that and its smooth sailing out of the box.
If she wants the ics look at all, download Holo launcher (free). Paired with the built in ics cm7 theme it'll look strikingly close.
Good luck
I'll second that. Below is a screenshot from my phone, and I'd say it is indeed striking. Yes, this is reloaded:

Well if were sharing screen shots...
First of all questions go in the q&a (that's question and answer) section. That's usually where you put questions that you want answers to
Second you should search around and notice that any thread asking which rom is best gets shut down asap as its all opinion and you should figure out on your own and make your own opinion.

I never heard anything. For the time being I've built the CM10 and ported the AOKP framework.
CM10 is going to final builds soon, and AOKP has already stopped at M1, so once this gets all ironed out there won't really be any changes. Future updates will address bugs only until I can figure out the Git myself and add the Camera.

I had no problems charging as mtp was already checked off from my previous install of JC Sullins' preview CM10. Matter of fact, if you plug into usb, even though it won't connect you can then tap usb connected from notifications and see whether mtp is checked off or not and check if needed.

Hey Guys
So I am coming up from an HTC Evo 4G..(not LTE) so you already know this phone is a come up for me. I noticed, however, that the phone is running a tad slowly. Here are a few examples, maybe you all could help me out.
First - when I put in my password pin the phone will lag and catch up when I press OK. Now, technically, this is not that much of an issue because the phone opens up when I press OK...but to see that lag is a little disconcerting.
Second - if I am typing some messages the keyboard will miss certain inputs in my typing. Now maybe I am typing a little too fast, but, come on? I know I am touching those keys... I am using SmartKeyboard but I figure that could be an issue too.
I notice that my ram climbs up pretty high. I clear all my programs...but still. Anyway to remove this bloatware?
Finally is there a root out yet?
Thanks guys. Sorry for the litany of questions

Either debloat for yourself or flash a custom ROM.

There is a root available for the phone as well as a stock ROM that is entirely free of bloatware located here.
The lag may, in fact, be the keyboard you're using. The most popular keyboard of choice - and for good reason - is SwiftKey; have you given this keyboard a shot? I use it myself and type extremely fast and it keeps up better than my iPhone 4S ever did.

You can try to uninstall most of the bloatware apps but a lot of them aren't able to be uninstalled which is why people root and head to a custom ROM.
Sooner or later you'll find yourself flashing AOSP ROMs for a complete Vanilla stock Android experience and a performance increase and flashing often.
It's an addiction, I caution you my friend!

o yes, i understood that. but I just don't want to brick this thing...I'm a little nervous about that
its kinda hard to brick any samsung galaxy phone.. u would have to do thing really stupid for a brick
100% stock here and using the stock samsung keyboard I also can validate the lag and skippy issues. The chief editor over at phone dog goes over and over about this. So its kind of a known issue. I am coming from the s3 and it was smoother when it came to typing and multitasking. I end freezing and dropping frames a lot I am hoping samsung comes up with a fix.

I'm currently on Optimus DE v2.3 with Sprint as my carrier. I've tried multiple ROMs, including stock, and the GPS is wildly inaccurate. Sometimes it'll get a good enough fix to navigate, and other times it'll get confused and freeze my location or be really inaccurate. I honestly think these problems started after the KitKat update because it wasn't quite this bad on Jelly Bean. This makes me think it's software related, not hardware related. Take a look at this picture below, I have an S3 on the left and the G2 on the right:

Any ideas on possible fixes? I really don't want to downgrade to Jelly Bean just because of this. I've tried using GPS apps from the Play Store, such as GPS Status and Toolbox, GPS Test, etc. but they haven't made any difference.

Guessing you already have it on high accuracy? Might have to flash a stock ROM and get a good GPS lock then reflash again
I had the same issue. Let me tell you absolutely no stock ROMs helped either. Oddly enough only aosp is 100% accurate and gives me zero gps issues. I'm running paranoid android and while it does have it's issues like volumes are a tad too high and there are wakelock issues.... Having the ability to use my GPS far outweighs that. I need to use GPS quite a lot.
Try out paranoid android and let me know if you see the same.

It helped me alot, my GPS used to always lose signal mid road and I can't describe how frustrating it was.
This fix solved it for me, it can now stay connected for over an hour without losing signal.
Try putting a thicker layer under the antennas.
