I posted this in [Q&A][i9505] Knox Q&A / Discussion Thread - ask questions here!, realized it's not for g5s so posting here.
Just got new g5s from Bell Mobility, it immediately reported ota downloaded, asking me to ok install. Was hoping it didn't already have knox infection. Just booted into download mode and found out bad news that it already has knox:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900W8
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, RA, A1, P1
EDC START
I guess this means there is no reason not to allow the ota to proceed, since the phone already has knox.
Does the secureboot setting mean the bootloader is locked?
I have a Telus galaxy S 5 and the bootloader is not locked. I have rooted and installed custom recovery. This will trip Knox counter.

Does the line about the QUALCOMM bootloader mean the bootloader is locked? Can you post a screen capture in download mode?
Does not mean bootloader is locked. Shows the same on my Telus note 3 as well. I will post pictures in download when I get home from work

Hi, I rooted my N900 with CF Auto an want to check KNOX trigger, but in download mode I got only below information but nothing about KNOX:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N900
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
where can I see my KNOX Void information?
Consider yourself lucky and you don't have to worry about knox. I wouldn't worry, and TWRP custom recovery right away and enjoy a new custom rom
Yeah, the Exynos model doesn't have eFuse like the SD800 versions.

From what we know about the GS4 there is still a counter that Samsung can see despite what download mode shows.
I have the same phone, knox information dont show in ODIN mode
I have some questions
1. If I root my phone how to unroot later with the stock samsung official firmware?
2. If I rooted can I update later via OTA update to 4.4 kitkat?
3. How to install a recovery?
Thanks

Hi guys. I currently have Mk8 BTU (from Great Britain) and I want to update to ML6 ROM ( for Romania). Does this triggers the knox flag to 0x1? I want to flash via odin from Sammobile. Thanks!

Any advice?
Not possible to downgrade to KNOX-disabled firmwares/bootloaders (An attempt sets 0x1)
Even if you flash a KNOX-enabled firmware via odin (e.g. the latest fw) knox will be set to 0x1
Flashing unsigned or modified images via odin will set knox to 0x1
Samsung stated, resetting the flag is impossible
KNOX is mandatory and can not be completely removed
Warranty Void is no counter, it is a flag (0,1) it was never seen 0x2 or so
Mirroring all partitions from a clean 0x0-Device to a 0x1-Device via JTAG produces an unfunctional device (reversible by restoring the 0x1 partitions on the phone)
KNOX bootloader verifies signatures of kernels and recoveries. No custom ones possible without voiding the knox warranty
Ok, thanks

I must have tripped my Knox counter when I installed the official Samsung 4.3 update via Odin (as the mobile Odin method made a mess of things concerning the kernel which resulted in no WiFi). I just couldn't get Kies to play ball for me so that's why I resorted to Odin. In all fairness though, I've had the phone now for just on 14 months into my 24 month warranty. Given how reliable it has been, I don't have any warranty concerns and if anything should happen as far as common problems are concerned (with the USB port, for example), then I can easily fix that myself anyway.
As a consequence, it was enough to spur me on to install the Ditto Note 3 ROM instead.

MJ5 BL with no Knox
I see that most of you have warranty void 0x1. My status is: Knox warranty void: 1.I'd like to know if there is any difference between these two things ?
0x0 on galaxy mega cna2.
As I have 4g enable now with the update, I no longer need to root my phone and wait only for official update.
0x0 mj5 bootloader. I hope we get lucky again with kitkat update, unless mj5 will fully work with it.

Hi !
I wanted to try the method to keep root after the NF4/NG2 update, and I get the Mobile Odin app for that.
But, while I launched the app, a message surprised me : launching Mobile Odin on my Note 3 will void my warranty ?... For now, my knox counter is at 0x0.
Is this true or is this only a misunderstanding ?
Thanks for your feedback.

Like how the Samsung website claims the Note 3 only supports up to 64gb of external storage.
It's a precautionary method that developers use so that they don't get complaints if it doesn't work.
KNOX 0x0 with MOP was a miracle procedure discovered by normal users. But Chainfire can't warranty it because if it does trip KNOX, well...he already stated it.
i falshed both update zips and firmwares (tar.md5) back in my 0x0 times with MOP and kept 0x0.
Remember you can either use MOP or Safstrap or you will be in trouble (backscreen after boot) - if you don't know what safestrap is, ignor this ^^
Okay
So launching this app won't void my warranty if I well understand.
