I found that swiping on the email (left or right) to delete email keeps it from reappearing. Worked for me...

Deleted Gmails from the HD2 go to "Deleted Items" folder in Gmail and not to Trash
When I delete emails in the HD2 Mail Client (I am using IMAP with Gmail) they will go to a folder in the Gmail server called "Deleted Items" instead of the "Trash" folder, is there a way to solve this ?, thanks

I did that test, but the emails did not go to the "Trash" folder in Gmail, they were just removed from the server.
Sorry, I thought that was what you were looking to do, as far as I know its deleted items or gone from the server, but that makes me ask, if you want it to go to trash which is basically wanting them to be deleted, Whats the reason for it to be put in trash?
Hi
I noticed that Mails reappear after I deleted them via SenseUI.
I have to open the Mail and delete it from "within" the Mail to get rid of it permanently.
Any ideas?
bump bump bump
That is because the mail has to be deleted from the server and the only way is to open it then delete it, that way it gets deleted from the server. Even though you delete it from your mini it does not mean that it is deleted from the server.
Thanks for your relpy.
So this is a normal behavior and all Sense Users have that issue?

Exactly. It always downloads emails from today up to 1 or 2 weeks old
So why is there a "delete" option when it does not delete the mail??
It does delete it, but from your phone, not from the server. If you want it to delete it from server, configure the account for using POP3 instead of IMAP, but I think is better this way.
the delete button works fine by me with IMAP accounts and Exchange server but not a POP3 account
I am using IMAP and Push. For none of them it works. I have to open the Mail and delete it from there
Hey all, I am having trouble with the email app. I should add that I am using Thor rom. Cn i install the one that comes with ics? If so does anyone know a link to the apk?
Thanks
well my problem is that the stock email app won't send email if sync email is off. If I turn it on it deletes mail on the server. On my HTC Desire HD running LeeDrOiD, the app has an option not to delete mail on server.
Anyone know of any stock email app that I can use with honeycomb?
This is frustrating.
Thanks
ok if I set it to pop3 I only see my inbox. If I set it to imap then i see all my folders.
If set to pop3 i can check not to delete my mail from server. But don't see my folders but inbox and i can send mail.
If set to imap i see all folders but if i delete an email it deletes off server unless i uncheck sync which causes email not to send.
Anyone have any suggestions please?
Hello,
I am very new to Android. I just received my Note 10.1 today. I am trying to configure my gmail and other mails on it. I want to use the mail app for all my emails instead of GMAIL app. How do I do that? When I initially booted the device, I used my gmail account and it automatically configured my gmail on the GMAIL app. I configured gmail on the native mail app as well. Now I have my gmail on both places, I want to use only the native mail app. Removing email sync under settings > accounts> is causing a sync error icon and it also cause the GMAIL app to crash.
Like I said I am very new to Android, this is my first android device. Can someone help me configure this? Hope I posted this on the right forum.
TIA

Hi, Thanks for reply. So you want me to use this new id to download apps etc on the play store, but use my main id for emails?
I don't use the Gmail app either. I use the Samsung stock e-mail client so my Exchange and other e-mail accounts are all in a unified inbox. Samsung's e-mail client can be set up on Gmail to receive "push" e-mail via Activesync. In the stock e-mail client set up a new e-mail account using your Gmail address and passord. On the first set-up page you'll see a "manual setup" option, select it.
Use these settings...
Under domain\user name enter...
google\"your e-mail address"@gmail.com
Under Exchange server enter...
m.google.com
Now you'll receive e-mails as they arrive in you Gmail inbox. This method is also less hard on the battery. Go in to Settings>Application manager and swipe three times to the left until "all" applications are showing. Scroll down to find the Gmail app. Open it and press "disable." Now all your Gmail will be routed through the stock e-mail client without being duplicated in Gmail.
P.S. - Gmail via Activesync is being discontinued to new users (legacy user's are protected) effective February 1, 2013.

Thanks for your reply. I have done the first part and it seems to be working. I see mails coming to the native mail app.
But I don't see an option to disable GMAIL app under app manager. All I have is force stop, uninstall updates, clear data, clear cache. NO other options. Am I missing something.

Oops. To disable an app you always have to uninstall any updates to it first. Once you do that you'll see the "disable" option.

There is no such option. Under Email icon i only have hotmail account. No other account.
Anyway problem solved. Seems like the default email app combines email and sms and there is no setting to change that so i deleted my email account and downloaded outlook/hotmail app from play store and now no sms appearing in my mail :good:

I had the same thing too, follow these steps to get rid of it
1. Apps -> E-mail (on your phone)
2. Left button near the home -> select ''settings''
3. Tab your email adres
4. Scroll down and select ''More Settings"
5. Scroll down and disable SMS Sync
Thanks !
