Mails reappear after deleting - HD Mini General

Hi
I noticed that Mails reappear after I deleted them via SenseUI.
I have to open the Mail and delete it from "within" the Mail to get rid of it permanently.
Any ideas?

bump bump bump

That is because the mail has to be deleted from the server and the only way is to open it then delete it, that way it gets deleted from the server. Even though you delete it from your mini it does not mean that it is deleted from the server.

Thanks for your relpy.
So this is a normal behavior and all Sense Users have that issue?

Exactly. It always downloads emails from today up to 1 or 2 weeks old

So why is there a "delete" option when it does not delete the mail??

It does delete it, but from your phone, not from the server. If you want it to delete it from server, configure the account for using POP3 instead of IMAP, but I think is better this way.

the delete button works fine by me with IMAP accounts and Exchange server but not a POP3 account

I am using IMAP and Push. For none of them it works. I have to open the Mail and delete it from there

This is how IMAP works. If you don't want to impact the mails on the server you'll probably better use POP3 and make sure to check "leave a copy of the email on the server".
emails deleted automatically from phone...why!!!

Email sync issue

Hi,
I've recently synchronised my email accounts to my HTC but I notice that when I delete emails from my hotmail account they are still there when I log into Hotmail on my computer. They seem to delete locally only.
How would I go about setting it up so that the emails are deleted from the server wwhen I click 'delete'
many thanks to anyone who knows the answer to this one

Microsoft Exchange Server

Hi
Before the latest update to my HTC Desire HD, I couldn't setup a hotmail account using exchange server. However, after the update, its seems to be fixed (maybe).
After setting up my hotmail account using exchange server, inbox keeps refreshing forever until I press stop/cancel or sometimes it says syncronisation key corrupt or invalid after some time.
When I open inbox again, it refreshes the whole inbox and not only retrieving new messages.
Does anyboyd have the same problem and maybe fixed it somehow? I would like to use my hotmail account using IMAP/Exchange so devices are syncronized
Hope someone have fix for the refreshing problem.
Youve got further than myself, i cant even add Hotmail exchange in the first place!
The stock 2.2 mail app works but doesnt update the widget to show how many unread emails are in the inbox.
What a pain.

If it works for you then I think you got it almost working
So with stock 2.2 adding a hotmail account using exchange server, works without any problems? And it does not keep refreshing when you open inbox folder?

I assume you have IMAP configured correctly?
Sent from Bonsai v 5.0.3
It's not going to.
One method is to use an email client that support IMAP. Then when you sync your email on your computer, the client will make the changes you have made on your phone and vise a versa.
Google search imap gmail for more info. I can't post a link yet.
My phone has has had issues with Gmail as of the last month or so.
Would not delete emails on my Gmail account, but would from within the Gmail application.
Read emails sometimes wouldn't be listed in the Gmail application on my phone.
Opening the Gmail application would automatically bring me to the first unread email rather than the inbox.
A simple phone reboot resolved the issues each time. It all usually happened when I had a phone uptime of 25+ hours.
Stock DI18, not rooted.
Use "m.google.com/sync" as your server, this turns your e-mail into push.

have u guys changed the account settings or sumthin???

make sure ur email/contacts/calendar, and junk is backed up. delete the account and try to set it back up. if the problem still persists, its possible u might have to hard reset..that has happened to me once b4

I also don't run into any problems. I use the Gmail app, and when I delete an email out of my inbox on my phone, it instantly happens on the web based email too? I have never configured IMAP, nor any other functions. Just used the stock gmail app that came with the phone.

[Q] IMAP Emails Don't Delete To Trash Folder

Anyone else having this issue? Using the stock email program I've set up my business email accounts using IMAP. When I delete an email it does not get moved to the trash folder. It deletes the email from the inbox on the Xoom, but the email actually still remains on the server. My host is 1and1.com, but they shouldn't be the issue because it all works fine on my DroidX.
Thanks,
Steve
