CSC change ? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i can't change my CSC with *#272*imei#
I bought my phone in germany, and flash belgium Firmware (which is the country i live) but the CSC changed from DBT (Germany) to SEB (Baltic) how

bump

Usually to change the CSC you have to flash the new firmware (which you have done) but then also flash to change the CSC. - On previous Samsung's (Note 3) - you have to flash the firmware, wipe the device then insert your SIM and it changes to your region.
This *may* apply to the S5 also, but only way to actually tell would be to do it, extract the CSC info and flash it. If you're unsure how to do this, then I'd hold off for a little while until others have tested different methods or release a guide on how to change it.

[Q] CSC from other pack

Hi
There is this stock package for s5360 - S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2. There is Polish language but there is no XEO. Can I use CSC from another ROM pack for example from this S5360_XXLH2_OXXLH2_XXLH2 ??
Why not try:
S5360_XXKL3_OXXKL1_XXKL3
European multilanguage build.
based on: S5360XXKL3_S5360OXXKL1_RST_S5360XXKL3_HOME.tar.md5
ro.build.date=Wed Dec 14 17:16:14 KST 2011
Supported languages:
XX = de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr )
Included CSCs: (Default is XEU)
ATO AUT COS CPW CYO CYV EIR EUR FOP ITV MOO PAN PHE SUW TPH XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XSK
After the flash, set your country/provider in dialer *#272*[yourIMEI]# (-> It will wipe your data, and rebrand the phone to specific country/carrier)
This build does not contais any provider specific bloatware
I think pl is polish language and XEO is there also in this stock firmware.
Also Doky73 is converting and releasing new firmware updates at present, he just did Polish T-Mobile stock ROM today so maybe you can check Sammobile for new firmware for yourself and ask nicely if he will convert it?
I would like to use newest ROM. The newest is S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2.
Is this CSC setting really important ?

I thought it was but apparently it is not so important at all. (See the Q&A Ask any questions thread). Just flash the latest firmware that you want which supports your language and you should be fine apart from having to set up your data network settings manually (APN settings). I have to do this anyway as my carrier is not major so I keep a list of the settings for when I change ROM, if you don't have those written down or cannot find them online get them from your phone before you do anything else.
Also, have you made a nandroid backup using CWM recovery yet? Always do this before making major changes, it could save you a lot of trouble if things go wrong! (I didn't and it caused me a lot of trouble lol). Also make a note of your IMEI number by pressing *#06# in dialer.
If when you have flashed the firmware you cannot connect to your carrier, then press *#272#(your IMEI number)# and it should fix it. If it doesn't (I am told this is very unlikely) then just flash the CSC file as you were asking about doing in your first post using Odin and it should all be good again.
I have been told that the CSC doesn't matter but have not had chance to test it myself yet as I only found out tonight!
Good luck :good:

[Q] Trying to change csc i9505 (carrier optus, Australia)

Hi I have a i9505 running Phoenix rom v10 I'm trying to change my csc to xsa as I'm in Australia because its not on the inbuilt csc list.
I have tried it through Odin then it reboots and opens twrp and runs the script then it reboots and I go into csc changer to change it and it's not there.
If theres not a simple way of getting this to work does anyone recommend a csc to change for AustraliaI'm also on the optus carrier
1. You can't change your device branded (Optus) for one unlocked (free). XSA don't appear in CSC list for that.
2. Solution: Unlock your phone and you are done. You can make it buying a unlocking code: HERE
Oh im not branded optus or anything im running xme csc at the moment just connection drops out a lot im trying to change to xsa

[Q][I9505] CSC changed itself

hi guys. anyone experienced the same. here's what happened:
i was using i9505 glb kitkat (csc=glb=globe philippines). i flashed clockworkmod, then install carbon rom.
last month, i re-flash my original glb kitkat. then went to recovery. i noticed that the csc changed to sin (singapore singtel) without doing anything.
now my problem is what rom should i use next time i update to lollipop: glb or sin.
pls help and many thanks.
Is your phone SIM unlocked? If it is, it doesn't matter which CSC you use. Otherwise, stay with CSC GLB.
No. I used regionlockaway to make it sim unlocked.
Then as mentioned, the CSC doesn't matter. Case in point is my I9505. Originally an O2 phone, when I purchased it the S4 was already unlocked and had Ukranian firmware on it. When I installed the Black Edition UK firmware (CSC BTU) after repairing my S4's SIM tray and again removing the SIM lock, I ended up with CSC AUT (Switzerland) instead.
On an open firmware such as CSC BTU, there are actually multiple CSCs within the firmware, and all the CSC does is customize the firmware to the needs of a specific region. In the case of AUT, the firmware installed three Swiss-specific apps that could be easily removed. BTU and the other CSCs essentially do the same thing, and I am guessing this is without modifying the firmware itself.
Ok. Thanks guys. I'll still use glb firmware once lollipop is released. I had once semi-bricked my s4 (got repaired at samsung center) so i'm kinda nervous this time.

S8 multi CSC Firmware question

Hello,
Can someone please try to explain this to me:
When I flash a multi CSC firmware on my S8, from the same region as my original firmware, how will the phone decide with CSC to assign from the multi-CSC list?
Example:
I have an S8 from Vodafone Romania and I want to flash the Romanian ROM firmware. But this firmware also contains other European unbranded CSC codes.
On what basis will the phone assign ROM as CSC to my phone? Based on the SIM card?
Many thanks.
No matter.
I have reflashed my branded Vodafone S8 with the open firmware for Romania. After, did a wipe cache and factory. Then the phone asked me to accept another reset to apply features from my sim card. Done that and the CSC is now the one from my country ROM. So, short answer, keep the sim card you want the CSC for in the phone to have specific settings

Samsung built in CSC changer for OXM Multi CSC Firmware (Need to be on One UI 2.5)

Good news for the people who wants to change CSC according to their home country.
Now, you can easily change your CSC no matter from which region you had bought your phone.
***No Root Needed***
Follow this steps to change CSC:
1. First insert the Sim of your desired CSC country.
2. Then after restarting just factory reset your phone.
3. Now the phone will boot up with welcome Screen.
4. After few seconds it will ask you whether you want to change the phone settings and region according to your Sim Card providers country.
5. Boom!!! now, phone will reset again and welcome screen will appear again. Now, you will have the same CSC and configuration according to your own country.
N.B: It works only for OXM Multi CSC based Firmware after One UI 2.5 update. So, every device with OXM MULTI CSC & One UI 2.5 update will be eligible.
Will it also change the SW-service provider, like from Vodafone to a unlocked sw-version?

If you are trying to change the CSC first ensure your firmware is based on OXM Multi CSC and your desired CSC is part of the OXM CSC family. Otherwise it won't work. And for checking correct CSC after following this procedure use *Phoone Info Sam** app from playstore

I have the OXM multi CSC. I will try that later.
Im trying to get back to ZTO since I changed my phone's to DBT.
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at SFR (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with BTU (part of OXM multi pack) the SFR will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.

Hi sivuha0101,
So if i undestand your solution, as i am from FRANCE ( XEF )
1- flash with a NZC firmware like it doesn'nt contain neither XEF or TIM ( mine actually )
like : SM-G986B_1_20210501192706_0r7rhuu316_fac.zip.enc4
( do i need to flash all ? ie AP,CSC,CP and BL ? )
reboot, fast install etc....
then
2 - flash again with my XEF rom :
SM-G986B_1_20210517170737_0n0cb625x6_fac.zip.enc4
and insert my sim card to detect my correct CSC code .
I am right ? thanks for this information btw !
EDIT :
tried, the flash failed with the NZC firmware ( the phone is good ) but now i don't know what rom to flash
Answering my self :
1/ buy Samkey credits on ebay user ( 5$ )
2/ Use one credit in Samkey software to change the CSC ( less than 2 min )
3/ Enjoy your phone !
