I have the Sprint version of the S5 and notice there is smudging underneath the glass by the earpiece on both sides. Also, there is a smudge on the right side near the bottom. Anyone else have this problem? Thinking of taking it back to Best Buy for an exchange. The smudges seem to go away using a microfiber cloth but then come back. Any ideas?

You figure it out? No smudges here...

Got a replacement today and none of those smudges on the glass.

It was probably the oleophobic coating wearing off prematurely

Is anyone finding that there cases are scratching the hell out of the bezel?

Nope. I have three different kinds of cases and they all do their job pretty well. I guess it just depends on which case you use.
Using a Diztronic case since December and have no problem with the bezel getting scratched.
My bezel is getting scratched just by being my pocket!!! I've never put anything my pocket besides the phone not have I ever put the phone with the screen facing down.

Using the LG bumper, no scratches

I use a diztronic case and official bumper. My bezel looks like hell. I work outside and my pockets get a lot of grit in them throughout the day.

I'm using the diztronic tpu case since jan and my bezel has a good amount of scratches too :/
Used the Diztronic TPU case for 2 weeks and got a ton of scratches on the bezel on the top end and bottom end of the phone; had none before, and haven't gotten any more after.
Not the case's fault per say, but the "chrome" finish scratches very easily, so if an otherwise harmless bit of grit gets trapped between the case and the bezel it gets it's sandpaper action on.

Its like the case is trapping dirt and its then scratching it

Every tpu / hard case I have ever had has scratched the bezel in one way or another, however not as much as if it wasn't on there, as others said grit/muck/dust gets trapped between the phone and the case, as the cases are pretty tight but can move (i.e. if you squeeze the sides of the case with a tpu case) and this cuases the sratches. I use the Official bumper and have had no problems on the N4, but I take it off and clean it/the phone pretty regularly, however the the design of the bumper means the upper rim of the case is lifted off the screen/bezel by 0.5-1 mm.
Best way to combat this is to give it a quick clean every day, but even then it will still happen.
I'm using a Kayscase which I ordered before they were completely stocked -- I tell you this because the case has no logo. I ordered another case by BoxWave (the Blackout LG Nexus case) -- it turned out to be the exact same case as the Kayscase (Slim Soft Gel Cover). They seem to do an excellent job of keeping the Nexus 4 scratch-free (face, back and bezel). I like this case because it's unobtrusive and allows me to lay the phone face down on flat surfaces.
The question is whats behind the glass on the back? Plastic? If you peel all the glass off.
It is a plastic hologram sticker stuck on a thin plastic back.

No I do not own a flex
Anyway when I put it screen down on a flat surface and touch the corners it starts rocking.
How to describe better.
One finger on left upper, one on the right down corner and touching once up once down. (Or the opposite corners, has to be diagonal)
If you have the same issue, your should feel it.
It does not distort the screen, but not sure it won't get worse in the future.
Anyone else encountered this?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
I have this but it's because I manually replaced my screen and did not have something to put in so t wouldn't rock but since I use a case that covers the bezel it's not a problem

In my case it's the glass that's bent. Not like it's lifted, but deformed. Not sure how it really happened. Maybe the original quick window cover... or just having it in my pants

Maybe heat? or probably sat on it that made one side of the screen cave in? lol
Always have it in the front more like the heat... btw I would not even notice it.. just by accident I tapped one corner and it was not touching the table...

Is anyone's device plastic breaking off? I'm talking about the strip between the glass and aluminum housing.

I will get a picture once I get off work but I'm not sure how it happened. It's always in a case, but I take it off maybe once a day, which may have caused it but I'm really careful about that.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Does it look like this? If so go to the "Bent after 2 days" thread. I know it's not bent, so the title is misleading. But the "Bent" issue in that thread is only this issue.
Like this?
This only happened because it fell naked, it was 3ft drop though so I'm impressed.
Only got a little dent with it too.

This is how mine looks in the top left of the picture. Never been dropped out of the case.
I can't really see anything on the photo, it all blends in.
If you mean the thin plastic band that sits between the screen and the aluminium case then yes, that seems to have the characteristics of play dough, it is easily dented.

Agreed. That material is just a cushion.
Yes, I've had this as well. I took my 6P out of the case it's been in (pretty much since I got it) and the top right corner has lost some of the plastic. Never been dropped so not sure why it's happening.

I've heard all the tempered screen protectors currently available for curved screens are crap. I'd rather have that when a good one comes out.

From what I've read most curved glass screens require additional duct tape to hold it in place...and because they don't have any glue in the middle, it doesn't really contact the screen itself, ruining touch sensitivity.
I had a tempered glass on my s6+ it glued just fine but is it worth using

I think we have a misunderstanding between two Puerto Ricans. I meant the screen protectors that are applied using the wet method. I did not say my fingers are wet.

I put a Skinomi screen protector on mine yesterday. It goes on wet. Before this I've only used tempered glass but there isn't any good option for the Note 7 yet. I'm surprised to say that I'm happy with the Skinomi. It hasn't effected touch sensitivity or the pen, and feels good.

Are you using a case with it?
I've got a clear Ringke case that was 99 cents as a preorder. It just barely touches the corners of the screen protector. Doesn't seem to be pushing it up after a few days.
Had the Skinomi on for one day. Applied perfectly with no bubbles or lint or anything in a steam filled bathroom and then let sit for a day. Shortly after putting the case on, started bunching up on 2 corners and this was the case friendly film I might add. Next day I broke down and went to ATT store and put the curved plastic protector they had there. Better than nothing and plays well with my case.
Problem with that is not every case is the same. Sounds like your case goes farther up on the screen than mine. Which case had issues with the Skinomi?
