[Q] Whats behind the glass on the back? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The question is whats behind the glass on the back? Plastic? If you peel all the glass off.

It is a plastic hologram sticker stuck on a thin plastic back.

Absolutely nothing

I just stick the Singtel logo sticker just underneath the lense. The sticker is slightly thicker than the lense so it prevents scratching if you put the phone on table.

I don't have the link, but I remember that someone here in XDA who managed to damage it reported the camera has a plastic protection.
I tried using a piece of screen protector (home button waste) to protect the camera lens, but it resulted in horrible pictures. Therefore, I decided to leave it naked. Nevertheless I use a protector case which doesn't let the camera lens touch the surfaces where the phone rests, preventing scratches.

What's The Deal With The Sticker On The Back?

Some reviews I see the sticker containing the serial numbers and such and some I don't. Are you guys removing them or are they just not on some?Personally I prefer a clean back with just the LG and Nexus logos.
When I got mine today it had the clear protective sticker on the back. I was gonna leave it but the imie number ruined the look IMHO..but now its finger print magnet
Edit.. Also noticed my phone didn't come with any plastics on the sides and the bottom I remember seeing reviews where it took like 5 minutes to peel all the plastics lol

It's a sticker attached to the "screen" protector on the back. It has the phone's imei printed on it.

Mines came with only a front and back plastic film. No sides or anything .. No Imei number

At first I was like wtf is this but then I realized it was just a plastic back that peels off.. It has IMEI but that is also located on the sim slot.

[Q] Galaxy S 4 side frame

Is it an actual metal frame or just painted in metalic color? I would want people that actually knows to answer it to avoid any confusions.
Thank you in advance,
painted plastic that looks like metal but feels even cheaper when you have it in your hands.

Plastic film on top of back camera?

Got a weird question.
I was looking at my back camera... noticed a plastic film. Is that to remain or be peeled off?

You peel it off. It's just like the plastic film as a bumper on the chrome around the phone; it is all to be removed.

you can leave it if you'd like for a while because it does have a small hole for the lens to look through, but it bugged the hell outta me, so i promptly took it off
Remove it. It's nothing but a dirt catcher.

that little POS took forever to get off. I couldn't fit my fingernail under the plastic to save my life.
If people do have trouble peeling of that plastic, try putting tape on top of it and pulling it off. Worked in one shot for me.
I had an issue trying to remove it as well, until I popped off the back cover of the phone. Then it was super easy to get at.

This piece of plastic was annoying the hell out of me. It came scratched and looking terrible and it was a REAL pain trying to remove it using my fingernails. The tape method worked like a charm, thanks!!!

Smudge Under Glass

I have the Sprint version of the S5 and notice there is smudging underneath the glass by the earpiece on both sides. Also, there is a smudge on the right side near the bottom. Anyone else have this problem? Thinking of taking it back to Best Buy for an exchange. The smudges seem to go away using a microfiber cloth but then come back. Any ideas?

You figure it out? No smudges here...

Got a replacement today and none of those smudges on the glass.

It was probably the oleophobic coating wearing off prematurely
