I just got a notif saying I need to do ANOTHER system update. Does anyone have details on these two updates yet? TMO S5...
NM it went away. It appears to have been a msg from the first update (?) or an update for another app / service that notifies using the same intrusive onscreen msg.

I would like to disable my update notification since my phone provider from my country said that I shouldn't do an update while it's not official for the country. So the constant update reminder is really starting to bug me.
I've been told on other forums that i can disable the notification from Settings>About Phone> Update Settings, however i don't have this option on my G1. It has 1.0 version of android.
What can I do?

Just update?! over wifi there shouldn't be problems.
For the last month or two the native voicemail app evidently wants to update, as I keep receiving a notification to update. Selecting the notification triggers a dialog box to "download this software update for the enhanced ability to customize Visual Voicemail to your interests", select Update or Cancel. Selecting Update does nothing--no updating, no error message, no kicking me over to the Play store...If I clear the notification it just comes back moments later. It's not affecting the app--I still receive voicemails, but it is annoying because the notification won't disappear. If I shut off the notifications, obviously I don't get notified of my voicemails. I'm wondering if it has something to do with me not subscribing to the "premium service" of the app which transcribes voicemail messages to text?
The version is T.5.3.4.16 and I am using a rooted GS4 on 4.2.2 Thanks.
I'm having the same issues...please help!
I too am having issues here with VVM, I am on Triforce 5.3 and it says I need an update but I get a general failure error when I go to download said update. Does anyone have the latest apk I can just install?

OK guys, I went through the same thing and you just have to keep trying and cancel if it doesn't take and try over and over. It will eventually stick, it's an issue with your carrier/tower. Unknownforce gave me that tip and it takes me about a dozen attempts, I just keep hitting cancel and download and it sticks.

Yeah I finally got it to work too after about 4 tries.
Hi all,
I use a Nexus 4 to send large umber of SMS messages using an application called "Group SMS Pro"
This worked perfectly for a couple of months. In the last week though, I've suddenly started getting a message stating:
"group sms pro is sending a large number of sms messages"
Which then asks me to allow each message individually. this would be annoying enough, but this seems to cause the application to fail to send to all but the first user.
What's worse I'm getting this message if I try to send large numbers of SMS messages using the regular messaging app. Or any other messaging app. So this is not app secific.
I have no idea why this started suddenly. I upgraded to 4.4.2 OTA when it first appeared last year and have root. Like I say, it was working perfectly up until about a week ago.
I've done some reading around and it appears that there was a pointless limit put in which users cannot change in 4.0 or somewhere, and there are plenty of guides to (and even apps for) disabling this for all versions prior to 4.4, but nobody seems to talk about this on 4.4.
Should I even be seeing this at all? Was it removed? How do I fix it? Is my best bet to downgrade to 4.3? Or would a custom rom be a better idea?
Thanks in advance,
Rich

I know in some roms there's a setting where it allows so many sms messages via apps.
Sent from my Nexus 7 (2013)
My old phone was a Galaxy Note II which I had since it was released (Non 4g version unfortunately) and once I got it set up and apps installed I didnt update jack and it has been working fine and was a dream but now with the S7 Edge I have no option than to download latest stuff including having the latest firmware on the system.
I used to have Red Alert Live Wallpaper handle the incoming notification of text messages and when I sent a message I had a custom sound say "Message Transmitted" which was taken from Star Trek but with my new phone I cannot seem to separate the notifications its either an all in one and let me tell you "Message Transmitted" when you receive a message is confusing AF.
I used to use GO SMS but with the latest version a LOT of stuff has been excluded but I was wondering are these limited settings because of the new version of the OS (Dont know what silly name they are calling it now) that is released or can you just not do this anymore.
I hope I explained my issue well enough if not ill be awake in about 9 hours so I can reply to any inquiries.
Anybody know how to set up separate notifications for Sending / Receiving texts ?
Unable to do this stock or with Go SMS Pro.
iv never once had notifications pop up telling me to update apps on the galaxy store playstore and systems updates iv to manually open the apps up and update, and I never receive notifications when an update has arrived iv to also manually check, why is this?
This seems to happen to a lot of people for some reason. Not sure why it does this and forces you to update manually with ODIN.
The playstore was updated months ago and it was reported it would no longer show notifications for updates to apps.
