Hello everyone,
I've heard rumors about Xperia SP variants : ( they say that the C5302 is the version that have more bugs than C5303 or C5306 )
Is that true that the Xperia SP C5303 don't have the problems that the Xperia SP C5302 has ? Is there no bugs on the C5303 ( or less bugs ) than the C5302 ?
Thank you in advance ! ^^
Not the device but more the software has issues. The major issue with all the three variants is the RAM management (depends on useage)..
Other bugs that are known:
- Screen Flickering
- Heating up (fixed in 201)
- No Mobile Bravia Engine 2 > Software issue (problem is that the required files are missing)
- Very very minimal Lags > cause is still unknown but the GPU is one of our crime suspects
Other than that the device is good

Thank you very much for the reply =)
But if it's a software problem, why there are a lot of Xperia SP devices that they don't have any of the bugs you have listed ( no lag, bugs, Bravia Engine 2 works etc...) ? :s

Well the major complains are caused by the update from 4.1.2 to 4.3.. The 266 update caused some very annoying bugs like:
- Heating up
- No Bravia Engine
- Non-working LED with walkman (beat lights)
- Some small layout bugs (text in installing and uninstalling app screen and no profile pic in messaging)
- RAM issues
Most issues are fixed:
- LED
- RAM (still present but not that annoying as in the 266 build)
- Heating up (reported, I did not have this issue)
- No profilepic in messasing (the other layout fix with the install and uninstall app screen is still present)
Non fixed issues:
- Mobile Bravia Engine (files are still missing)
- RAM (major problem is fixed but there is a slight chance that some apps will be closed due to full RAM)
- Very Very Minimal LAG > Not present on all the devices (see the threads)
- Screen flickering > Not present on all the devices
Edit: About the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 problem: I have no idea how to proper test this or how to even check this. I think I can check this by unpacking the last Firmware but I still dont know how to proper test..

I have a x10a r2ba020 and its debranded and I used 1 click root last night to root my phone I did successfully but whenever I use seus it says I have latest firmware. - The application for archiving and restoring data (contacts, messages, bookmarks, settings, etc.)
- Recognition of conversational dynamics.
- Improved battery life, including and in special modes such as GPS, Sync.
- Improved interface and improved usability of the camera and media player.
- Many changes in the user interface (eg PIN code is typed in a new way)
- The sensitivity of the sensor display.

- Optimized the speed in general of Timescape (photos are loaded faster and more efficiently with less traffic,
improved mapping data in the cards, the application runs faster and more stable in general)
- Improved video recording quality (not only video but also sound at this).
Official Changelog of R2BA026 Firmware on Xperia X10
In addition of changes on R2BA023 firmware from R1FA014/R1FA016, there were only a few changes made to the smaller update on Firmware R2BA026 on the basis of feedback from users all over the world after updating to R2BA023.
- Fixed the issue where users experienced Force Close in “PlayNow” and TrackID” after the R2BA023 update!
- Fixed the issue of weak Picture Resolution in Mediascape!
- Photo quality is reduced in Timesacape ( Only Marginally! )to reduce the traffic over 3G/edge. In the next firmware – good quality with adequate bandwidth, will be our concern!
- Battery Consumption is tweaked further!
- Other minor improvements in general usability and stability of the OS.

Here we can talk about CM7/GB ports
You all know that Marcellusbe started to port CM7/GB to our phone. He just released an alpha2 built (for testing purposes only!).
Here you can ask question, and report bugs of the current CM7/GB built (alpha2). Do not report bugs in the official CM7/GB thread (in the development thread), to keep it clean!
This thread will be constantly updated with the list of the bugs, so dont report the same bug if there is already in the list!

Questions & Answers
-My wifi isn't connecting to my router in CM7.2 Alpha8. What should i do?
It won't detect wifi if Name (SSID) is hidden. It works fine if Name (SSID) is visible. So, go in your router settings (192.168.0.1 for me) and Unhide Name (SSID).
No bugs found till now except little lag due to absence of 3d acceleration (and things officially non working YET).
*Calls are working fine.
*No more sleep bug.
*Excellent battery life.
Backlight works randomly.
Worked while booting up for the first time.
Then doesnt.
Rom manager is kinda unstable. Reboot into recovery in it actually brought up the recovery mode with lotsa E :// errors and the phone booted automatically with a flickering screen.
I guess this is a general prob with the CWM Recovery in our phone.

CM7 Full report
Well it was nice to see cm booting on sg3 due to the excellent work by marcellusbe and team
Kudos to them all!
I'll start with flashing
Flashed as any Rom would no harm
First boot took a bit longer but its usual
On boot i was welcomed by the Android Setup App
The Rom feels nice and is stable with normal use (No FCS no hangs ) what features are stated to be working work others dont
Now comes the apps part
Camera : upon opening a white screen comes with just the usual controls on taking a picture an android robot is captured
Video capture gives a blank black video
Video player doesnt play videos that used to play on all other roms(captured by sg3 cam)
Music player plays mp3s and plays them well
Most of the new functions in settings app work
cm settings
status bar tweaks work(all of them0
In render effect some modes like red/green/blue/amber/salmon/fuscia work
(Clicking on red gives blue and vice versa)
Calibrated N1 (all 3 modes) dont work
Overscroll glow works and so do all the lockscreen options
Live wallpapers work although some specific settings in some wallpapers gave fcs
No T9 prediction in dialer
Whn booted into recovery ( by key combo) the menu options appear and its clear its cwm 3.2 but the screen keeps flickering constantly but i was able to scroll up and down the options but couldnt select one though
Some apps i couldnt try coz no data network as of now but will get soon
Some spelling mistakes may have been done
I may have forgot some things too
My apologies for that
Thnx
How's the device functioning? Is it lagging? Or is it betta than the other ROMs performance wise?

It is in alpha stage yet. It is not lagging, but it is not for daily use. You can test it!
cannot play mp4 video that i can play with froyo.
Titanium backup works but can't apply restore (like contacts and sms) but account restore works well...
When reboot to download mod the screen is flashing and recovery has big bug...
CM7 is great and i'm really happy to use but i think no stable yet for everyday using waiting the next build
Ok so this is what i get
Battery use shows some random stuff.
USB Development nortification doesn't work so there is no way to get to mass storage also other nortifications might not work either haven't tested yet Recovery also doesn't work, it doesn't load and it restarts the phone and both CWM and the system are running.
I get system forced close
Oh and the home for cwm recovery doesn't work either. Thats what i've encountered so far.

Question about camera
Hey, guys.. are the camera is working in this wersion??
If yes your team will be heroes
Great Job Can't wait to try
Oh nice and it even sounds as if it has more things working properly than the previous ICS attempt.
Hello guys,
I modified several files so you can play without lag in gta 3. The radios were disabled you can turn them back by renaming them (against a loss of performance of course). This does not change the game atmosphere
It work with all the android devices but I have to create this one for the galaxy S.
I created an archive
Step one : Backup your actual audio folder Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3
Step two : Delete your audio folder
Step three : Just extract it in Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3
Feel free to send me a return
Sincerely Kwee

Tweaks to make yours games more smooth
- Download galaxy tuner and apply my settings in memory manager, you must to be root(Snapshot 1)
- Kill unnecessary services, services leave only these services (see Snapshot 2)
- Put this configuration in gta 3 (only works for version 1.3) (see Snapshot 3)
- Freeze the following applications with titanium backup or app freezer : Allshare, ChocoEuKor (wallpaper), Swype (or keyboard samsung if you do not use it), CoolEuKor, 1.0.0 Error, Print via Bluetooth, Maps, MTP application, RoseEuKor, VPN Services, SNS 1.0, 1.3 Talk
- Overclock your phone at 1,2 Ghz(safely) or 1,4 Ghz(much faster but risky)(see Snapshot 4)
- Use Io Scheduler "Noop"
- Use a bigmem kernel version(break 720p and front cam) but with that i've no slowdown(I would do a video to show you the gameplay on my phone)
A higher LMK or a lower LMK makes your game slow, for me this is the best configuration.
It depends on how many applications you have and the number of services that run in the background.
If you except freezing after 1-2 min on Soc Qualcomm(I think about the i9001, Xperia Ray and other), it's a adreno issue i have not found a fix
If you play on PoverVR chipset, there are no worries

V2 is Out ! Same experience with and without sound !!
After some changes I got to get an audio folder rather optimized to achieve the same performance (approximately that without sound). Somes sounds was missing but this does not ruin the game experience.
I uploaded this on mediafire.

V3 is out ! Just try it !
V3 is out ! The changes were indicated in the first post
Hi, Thanks for your work i'll be sure to try this and keep it up!
[Gta 3]Audio Performance Tweak [V4] Lags demystified
I recently installed Gta 3 on a Xperia Ray, it worked perfectly on it (Xperia ray Snapdragon MSM 8255 to 1 GHz). I was a little surprised then I decided to copy the data on my phone and go through Chainfire 3D plugin Qualcomm). The game worked better than my old data but lacked a lot of textures). So I modified the data by adding images to PowerVR chipset. Results: No more lag with all audio. I do not really understand why I'm trying to dissect the data to see why. Knowing that the game has been optimized Xperia play I think the code is less heavy for its chipsets. Other Soc PowerVR are carrying a dual core. This is my theory. If anyone has more info is welcome. I'm currently uploading the "optimized" archive.
Awesome. Thanks dude

Remount script for data audio on External SD
This is a tweak for those who have an external memory card, the script can raise the audio file Gta 3 on the sd card. It allows you to empty your memory a bit but mostly frees your internal map of a load. This allows for an even smoother gta 3. I will soon make a list of all the tweaks which make the phone more responsive.
To run the script you need a kernel that supports init.d if it does you can follow these instructions
- Make a copy of your audio file (/ mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3/audio)
- Copy the audio file on your external card (path / mnt / sdcard / external_sd)
- Copy my script in / system / etc / init.d with Root explorer or file manager
- Restart your phone
The audio file will be physically Gta 3 on your external card but the system will think the content is still in / mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3/audio
nice work, will try this one later today
which rom are you using for playing gta3?
Just a rom XXJVU changed with my tweaks and devoid of the bloatwares.
I understood why the Xperia ray cache / play is faster. The game has been optimized to take less memory (The Xperia Play has 512 mb of ram). In Gta 3 there are two factors slowdowns: audio and memory.
The Xperia Play cache is optimized to take less ram, that eliminates one factor. This leaves the audio (the audio code of Gta 3 is really poorly optimized). By combining my two "tweaks", this allows a game much more fluid and enjoyable.
i'm not sure if there's any difference between the original files and the files that you provided because i couldnt get the wifi to download the original files.
so i just put your folder into my sd card and the game worked. not as smooth as i'd like but it's good enough.
i just downloaded the v3 pack to replace the v4 audio pack because im still getting horrendous lags whenever a sound plays in the game.
thanks for your effort, buddy.
May I ask how big is the performance boost gained by using the adreno cache?
This is really awesome!
Aside from the boost in FPS, graphic improvements such as car lights and traffic lights were also included. It's really smoother than the original files.
One question though, why is the game files from V4 a hundred megabytes larger than the original game files for my Xperia Play? Did you add some other things besides the performance tweaks? Were the audio files the only ones you manipulated or are there other unlisted manipulations you did? I'm being paranoid, please help me clear my mind. I don't want strange things happening to my phone or my Xperia PLAY optimized games. Thanks!
I tried V4 on a i9000 with cm9 kang. The run much faster but it lacks a lot of textures.
how can i fix it?
I had the files downloaded already, didn't want to unzip all the things from v4, so i only changed the audio with v3...and wow...it wasn't running this nice even on Gamerz rom (JVU)...i'm on Simply ICS 2.9 right now, glitch kernel v14 b6...everything is perfect...no lags at all...overclocked to 1.4 GHz
I'm glad i found this thread...
Hello people, first thank you very much matyas69 for sharing with us your work with sounds and creating those 4 packs.
I managed to install GTA 3 on ZTE Skate and now it runs smooth on it the only problem i have it only runs smooth if I delete audio file (turn sound off) so I tryed to use your v3 sound pack but it still runs bad with it.
For budget phone like ZTE Skate GTA 3 can work with sound only if it has just basics.
So i would like if you can make sound pack with only:
Car sound when it hit something, tire sound
Weapons sound, movie voices sound
Turn off:
All background sound
Siren sound (it is on too often)
Engine Sound (it is on too often)
Pedestrians comments sound
Or if I am asking too much can you give me advice how i can myself turn all those sounds off. There is much ppl with budget phone who would like pack like that also ppl who like extreme performance so it would be good to have extreme performance sound pack
Thanks in advance
Thx

FC in GTA III
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant running on 2.2Froyo(Toxic Rom & DMZ Kernel)
Even games like 9mm & Asphalt 6 run fine on my device, with overclock(in rare cases)
But I have installed GTA III v1.3 and took Titanium Backup.
Then I downloaded SD data from some site. I have two versions of the same(So basically my first question is that is SDcard data size specific to a version, and as long as it is higher it shouldn't be a problem rite?)
And then I copied audio from your v1.4 Sddata zip.
Now, I have tried with different launchers - GO, Zeam and killing tasks or boosting memory ,etc.
But when I click on GTA III, after I accept EULA and it asks me to download data(I press back button)
and then press home key.
then when I click GTA III from notifications, it opens up and then after two vibrations or so, it closes itself, without any error message(like this process stopped responding).
I know this is independent of your audio tweaks.
But I have tried numerous times, yet i can't get this game working on my device. Please help !!
nice i try v3 and worked amazing but now il try to test v4 and apparently part2 went offline, can reupload please?
Nice work!
Greetings! :cyclops:
I'm not a developer, in fact I'm a semi-noob and (quite) new to XDA (for under two years). This is my first post - and I'd like to help other X10 users with some friendly and -of course- helpful advices.
After trying/using a bunch of custom ROMs available for Rachael, I currently use Achotjan's amazing SDE CM9 ROM. It's the best for my use right now, offering good performance and original Sony interface. Before, I also tested Vasishta Reddy's ICS 005 ROM, but (despite it's 'final') it felt quite slow(er), unstable and...well, without many Sony apps, like Conversation, Gallery/Album etc.
Anyway, I don't want to review any other ROM right now. The thing is simple: Achotjan's SDE is, for me, almost perfect. 'Beta'? Not quite.
I use Ferakernel V6 with JB Adreno drivers - and my X10 is fast and very stable: no WLOD, no random reboots, 'gingerbready' (CM7) feel. My current CPU setting is Smartass V2 [I don't know the difference between this and InteractiveX] at 384 -1113 MHz. Why? Because with 1190, many apps seem to crash/not respond/not open. zRam at 18% (not very sure it helps), surface dithering OFF, 16bit transparency ON, GPU rendering OFF (again, not sure, but Temple Run 2 works fine without it), screen animations OFF (or 0.5 max)
Nota bene: all the Sony framework (including Sony ICS slide lockscreen with notifications and Walkman controls) and app collection are in this ROM (if you think there are too many - you can easily disable or uninstall system apps with Root App Delete.) As a bonus, the original Xperia Z locker can be ported - and it works perfectly. :victory:
And now... BUGS. Excluding the CM9 classic and -hope so- temporary ones, you may find some more. Chillax, nothing big.
The LED is not showing very long that you have a notification (and when charging - it also dissapears the red/yellow/green, afterwards).
The notifications itselves don't remain in the bar (they can disappear after a couple of seconds. Luckily, the notification count in icons remains.)
For me it's kinda frustrating when I'm trying to open a system app - and I must wait 1-5 seconds before it displays the content (e.g. Settings, Calls) In this case, GB and even JB ROMs are faster.
I can't remember anything else right now...
TIP: After any changes made - Fix Permissions in CWM. It might help preventing crashes and unwanted reboots.
Well... That's all, folks. If you have any kind of questions - ask me. About apps, tweaks, settings, anything. Including info about other X10 ROMs.
One more thing: I just want to thank the developers for making Rachael a better, faster...newer phone! :victory:
All the best!
