Difference between R2BA020 and R2BA026 - XPERIA X10 General

Hello is there any.difference between these 2 firmwires? I have a x10a r2ba020 and its debranded and I used 1 click root last night to root my phone I did successfully but whenever I use seus it says I have latest firmware. So what is the big difference between these two firmware and how do I update to fw26 if its better than fw20.

Official Changelog of R2BA026 Firmware on Xperia X10
In addition of changes on R2BA023 firmware from R1FA014/R1FA016, there were only a few changes made to the smaller update on Firmware R2BA026 on the basis of feedback from users all over the world after updating to R2BA023.
- Fixed the issue where users experienced Force Close in “PlayNow” and TrackID” after the R2BA023 update!

VF UK Update - 2.05.161.1

This is the same as 2.05.405.2 stock update from HTC including the SMS bug. This is where the SMS conversation is backwards so you have to scroll to the bottom all the time to see the latest message.
I think that will become annoying very fast, it might be worth ignoring the update even until Vodafone get it fixed.
what the update brings ?
Change Log
* New version of Quickoffice
* Battery life improvement
* Improved performance
* Multitouch for Google Maps (!)
* New Radio
and a SMS bug

If I could come back I wouldn't download it...
For MT in gmaps search brut.all mod in XDA. I haven't felt any differences in the performance
I decided to do the update as I use handcent so the bug doesn't affect me. I've noticed a slight speed increase in the browser and photos apps. I've only just upgraded so I can't comment on battery life. Also, multitouch in maps is nice coz I can free up space by deleting the brut.all mod.
sadly i have come across this thread too late, just installed this update. hopefully the sms bux wont affect my handset? *wishful thinking*
I don't have the SMS bug and I just updated the OTA update

YP2 Firmware RU1.1.81 (for tinkerers only)

Update: Yota did something unusual: they communicated! An employee contacted me with a request to remove the download link. He hints that an official release is not that far away anymore, and that the RU1.1.81 version in this post still has some open issues, so I decided remove the download link for now.
A little something to play with for those who are interested: Yotaphone 2 firmware 1.81 (Russian)
What is it?
- An (as of yet unreleased) yotaphone 2 firmware by Yota Devices
- still based on Lollipop 5.0
- unknown quality: My guess is beta+ quality, maybe some issues
- Russian (RU) version (hardly noticable, some russian apps, additional Cyrillic characters in dialpad of dialer), but runs fine with English language/other locales
- modem firmware is same as e.g. EU, I've had no network connectivity issues so far
- it's a full firmware, so it's not dependent on your current firmware version.
- contains from some new features, like double-tap-to-wake, new widgets and widget sizes, panels background selection, app improvements, security fixes (and who knows: some new Russian backdoors to match? )
- From Yota Devices themselves (signed).
Issues/warnings:
- for some reason unknown to me, Xposed framework won't run on recent versions. Boot never finishes with Xposed installed, the boot animation keeps playing, some background services get restarted over and over.
- This firmware has unknown quality, I've been using this one for a few hours now, looks pretty OK so far.
- If you're not comfortable using TWRP and flashing firmware images, it's probably easiest and safest to wait for an official OTA update.
- My phone showed a missed alarm this morning after having snoozed the first one, not sure if related to this firmware, but be careful not to lose your job
- <download link removed>
A detail which I may have missed until now: YotaReader in ROM 1.8x renders text in high quality (16 colors). See an example of the quality difference in this post here.
It may have been in the app for some time already, did anyone notice this? Backscreen browser does not do the same unfortunately, but at least reading ebooks is nicer now! :good:
Thanks for this dude, very exciting news. Did you get a look at any of the new features / fixes in the new firmware?
Nice that at least some people are paying attention to here ..

I mentioned some new features above, I especially like the double-tap-to-wake (better than swipe gesture) and the improved text quality in YotaReader.
In other news: Xposed (latest version: v78) seems to work again in combination with recent firmwares (it stopped working somewhere after 1.60), so that's good news too for users attached to Xposed.

It wasn't available for me either.
Download from the Play Store the app Firmware Finder and you will be able to get the update via this app.
Just follow the instructions in the video guide in the app.
ALWAYS choose the Full OTA variant.
Unfortunately VKY-L29C636B170 is not yet on the list Firmware Finder.

For me it is on firmware finder, but my huawei p10 plus won't find it on OTA or through HIsuite :/
Both are saying my phone has latest firmware.
So i'm out of ideas how to get it installed over OTA or HIsuite.

Just got it via Hi-Suite - installed without a hitch. 3D camera mode is cool!
If phone offers B171, don't download it, battery life decreased drastically
Is it for B636? Is it bad.?
is it me or the firmware ? Low light photography quality has degraded after the last 2 updates. This update is the worst!
Auto-mode, same lightning condition, now takes darker photos..
Manual 3200ISO, 1/4 sec, also takes darker photo compared to previous firmware version. B123 was the best!.
I think u need to perform full reset... Might fix it

When will we get or will we get the Update to Android Oreo?

I choose this phone over the Honor 8 because of the camera.....!
Since is very difficult to obtain information about this model, I really don't know if it's just a feeling that you've got about the camera or it's really poorer...it's what happened to Honor 6x after updating to Nougat...
Why are you feeling that the camera is poorer....?

It seems like, that the Pictures at bad light conditions, are more poor then before the Update.
At good weatherconditions, the Pictures are really good (like before)
Macro Picutes are also good.

Battery + Camera on custom rom?

Hey there,
I really like my X compact. However, some software things could be better (latest ota oreo) . So that's what I'm looking for in a custom rom:
- camera even to sony fw or at least really close
* With drm fix this should be fine, right
- Battery similar to sony fw (10% worse at maximum)
- smooth experience with battery > speed > lots of features
* no games but video, browsing, should work fine
- no or at least less bloatware
- more accessibility features
*For example faster flashlight access via hw buttons
- working GPS
Nice to have:
- access to sound tweaks for loudspeaker (ainur, etc)
- root for titanium backup
- general magisk modules suppord (YouTube vance..)
- fingerprint functionality equals sony fw
Even less important:
- all the latest features
- latest security patches
Which rom should I go for and what might be possible disadvantages? Main focus is on camera, battery and less bloatware
Thanks weirdrescue,
is there any chance to get rid of "what's new" (and other apps) at least without losig original fw?
