Hi to everyone,
I'm wondering if there's a way to get a Kernell fully working for a Galaxy S5 Live Demo Unit. For the S4 it were simply with an official firmware cooked and Adam's Kernel, but with S5 I don't know if this can work or not.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there, i am still waiting for my demo unit to put it in "normal" mode. For the Note 3 you had to:
1. Download the CF-Auto-Root and root device
2. Create backup
3. Wait for someone to create a firmware (from another firmware) without the functionalities that dont work on S5 demo (modem, etc)
4. Flash it with odin
So we will have to wait for someone to create this firmware. Perhaps not difficult (?)

Hi Jopa7,
actually I'm able to do all you've said, including create a Firmware for a Live Demo Unit (I did with a Galaxy S4 with success).
My only problem is to get a good and stable kernell that can work with the LDU of S5. For the S4 there was the Adam's Kernel that works great, but only for S4. For GS5 I canno't find a good one.

Hi, but in Galaxy Note 3 demo unit you could use stock kernel. I think you can do the same in S5. I have 2 S5, one of them also demo unit but still havent got time to try. Did you tried to flash a "custom" made firmware (with original modem and bootloader!) and with pit file(to get stock internal storage) etc from european open stock rom (german for example)? I am almost sure it will work ok
Cheers

No, I didn't try yet cause I think I'm the first outa here and I wanna be ery sure to do all things right
For the S4 the stock firmware needed for pull out modem and other stuff. The result were a .md5 file without a modem and NON-HLOS.bin.
And it works perfectly, after flashing a new Kernell. Do you think this way can work also for S5 without flashing any Kernel?
pit file
hi there do someone knows where to find samsung g900x pit file?

Hi,
When asking for help , you should always give as much information about your phone , variant , firmware , rooted/unrooted , stock , any custom installations etc. etc .
Yes , you should be able to return to stock by flashing a stock firmware in odin.
Make a note of your current firmware , and flash one that is is equal to , or later than the current one.

Hi,
Well the variant you have is the samsung galaxy s4 i9505
Stock is the firmware that it came with from the shop.
Find this in settings /about phone.
Make a note of it.
I take it that the upgrade came in the form of an OTA (Over The Air )
So , your current firmware is 4.3
May I suggest a LOT more reading before embarking on anything.
Look HERE to start with ,
and HERE
So when I first got my note I imediately used this guide to flash kitkat and completely ****ed it up, it just stuck on the Samsung n9005 screen.
This was a link to C4ETech's video called "Galaxy Note 3 - Samsung Official Kitkat 4.4.2 - How to Flash/Install" but I had to remove it.
I assumed it was something to do with the CSC code (mine being BTU) so I installed a BTU rom using this guide.
This was a link to TheSmokingAndroid's video called "HOW TO UNBRICK & UNROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3" but I had to remove it.
Now I want to install a kitkat rom preferably a stock one but there isn't one for BTU. So I looked at the custom roms as some support BTU but require the device to be on 4.4 already. How can I get onto 4.4 if every 4.4 rom requires a 4.4 phone? Will I have to wait until an official BTU update comes out?
I've attached a screenshot of my About Phone page (which doesn't have BTU anywhere, I don't get it).
I probably have the complete wrong end of the stick so sorry for wasting everyone's time but if you have a minute to help I'd really appreciate it.

Try *#1234# might come up there. Anyways, go over to Sammobile and grab any of the latest 4.4.2 KitKat ROMs for your device (9005) as you said. And it should work fine.
Advice: Wipe your phone, not compulsory but advisable. Cheers!
I have a canadian variant note 3 900w8 and i want to flash 4.4.2 as well but i was hoping to flash the t-mobile version as i have heard of issues with the 9005 rom compatibility, just wondering if anyone has had experience yet, or if it has been done.

Thanks for your help but I've already done that and the newest version I can get is 4.3 I'll just wait until my phone gets the update, Thanks anyway
I've managed to get onto 4.4 now by flashing a polish ROM after reading that they support BTU, I don't know how to delete this thread so I'm just letting everyone know my issue is resolved

If you want the ability to flash back to 4.3 from 4.4, install custom recovery and roms and keep your Knox 0x0, head over here and do some reading ( if you haven't been there already ).
Greetings-
I have tried to root my Galaxy Note 3 using the autoroot file provided by the great Chainfire ( much respect ). But it does not work. I just want to be clear, this is a phone, which I have reimaged with the Sprint stock firmware again, since I erased one file too many and could not boot it any more. Has anyone done this? btw, I got my image from SAMOBILE. Has anyone rooted a phone, ideally Galaxy Note 3, which they flashed with stock firmware after they rooted it once at least?
Regards

I'm not quite sure what is the region for O2.
Is it N9005 ? which region ?
you could actually find any stock rom from www.samfirmware.com
after that you can flash through ODIN.
you won't mess up your phone, BUT, you have to download the correct firmware for your device (e.g : if your device N9005, you have to use N9005 firmware. If yours is N900, then you have to use N900.)
and other than that, try to flash stock rom which is the same release with your current one or newer release.
If you don't understand on how to flash ODIN, pm me.
Hello to all holders Live Demo Unit! and the developers out here
I want to summarize in this topic (maybe someone will correct if I'm wrong).
Many guys out there are having LDU unit and few of them might be using it properly but i want to ask people and the developers to help people like me to get it to working properly. I know and want others to know as well that with a Live Demo Unit YOU CAN'T DO PHONE CALLS or TEXT MESSAGING due to its nature. So, we need a custom/stock firmware that will transform Live Demo Unit in to a working tablet note 3 that works on WiFi and for multimedia purposes.
In the beginning when i had it in my hands i upgraded the android to 4.4.2 leading to upgradation of boot loader to newer version and later i came to know that there isn't any going back, you cant downgrade your boot loader.
after installing the firmware with Odin i noticed few issues:-
1. Periodic boots
2.Videos, camera (in video mode), YouTube were not working and as soon as they are opened phone restarts
3.Battery draining issues
4."Network operator" eats battery more other processes (always on the mobile network signal) even in airplane mode
after researching got to know that all the issues were due to modem. i collected all the demo firmwares as well but could got them working , as the modem file (CP_N900XXXUDMK1_LLK_REV03_CL1252918.tar.md5) was not compatible with version higher than 4.3 so in short i was stuck
i downloaded various firmwares stock as well custom and yes cyanogen too but not successful
then i installed cygwinand removed the modem and other files from the stock and thought that it might help in any way but nothing as far
please if any one know how to correct the issue is more than welcome
thanks
If you have kk BL you only have to flash NG1 modem minimum.....use @Khizar method...
i did that already but still no success. thanks for replying
anymore help would be appreciated.
come on guys please help me out with it !!!
stock 5.0 is out, shall i try it..will it be worth??

AFAIK that is not always correct.
If the LDU has a modem board, you can make it working with phone calls and SMS.
Use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ to check if your LDU has Modem Board or not? (under MISC INFO section).
@vndnguyen
but it doesnt have a modem in it.i have checked it.

can you please guide me which rom to install.
Step 1. Chech your version of LDU. Snapdragon/exynox. Use phone info samsung from play store.
Step 2. Find the tread in general about the leaked firmware for note 3 ( snapdragon) or exynox ( this variant of note 3 has from today official lolipop) and install by following the instructions. It's all here, just search a little and you'll be fine

Find leaked lolipop rom for SM N9005. No other rom!!!!
stock s5 rom for note 3
ok
lolipop rom for SM N9005
will it solve the problem of reboots and video error ?
You will find that rom in general thread! Download odin, firmware and follow the steps described vrey well there ( including pictures). First you need to make your phone to work normally, after that you can try different roms. For now just install a pure samsung rom
