Hi,
When asking for help , you should always give as much information about your phone , variant , firmware , rooted/unrooted , stock , any custom installations etc. etc .
Yes , you should be able to return to stock by flashing a stock firmware in odin.
Make a note of your current firmware , and flash one that is is equal to , or later than the current one.

Hi,
Well the variant you have is the samsung galaxy s4 i9505
Stock is the firmware that it came with from the shop.
Find this in settings /about phone.
Make a note of it.
I take it that the upgrade came in the form of an OTA (Over The Air )
So , your current firmware is 4.3
May I suggest a LOT more reading before embarking on anything.

[Q] Can I upgrade to 4.4?

So when I first got my note I imediately used this guide to flash kitkat and completely ****ed it up, it just stuck on the Samsung n9005 screen.
This was a link to C4ETech's video called "Galaxy Note 3 - Samsung Official Kitkat 4.4.2 - How to Flash/Install" but I had to remove it.
I assumed it was something to do with the CSC code (mine being BTU) so I installed a BTU rom using this guide.
This was a link to TheSmokingAndroid's video called "HOW TO UNBRICK & UNROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3" but I had to remove it.
Now I want to install a kitkat rom preferably a stock one but there isn't one for BTU. So I looked at the custom roms as some support BTU but require the device to be on 4.4 already. How can I get onto 4.4 if every 4.4 rom requires a 4.4 phone? Will I have to wait until an official BTU update comes out?
I've attached a screenshot of my About Phone page (which doesn't have BTU anywhere, I don't get it).
I probably have the complete wrong end of the stick so sorry for wasting everyone's time but if you have a minute to help I'd really appreciate it.

Try *#1234# might come up there. Anyways, go over to Sammobile and grab any of the latest 4.4.2 KitKat ROMs for your device (9005) as you said. And it should work fine.
Advice: Wipe your phone, not compulsory but advisable. Cheers!
I have a canadian variant note 3 900w8 and i want to flash 4.4.2 as well but i was hoping to flash the t-mobile version as i have heard of issues with the 9005 rom compatibility, just wondering if anyone has had experience yet, or if it has been done.

I've managed to get onto 4.4 now by flashing a polish ROM after reading that they support BTU, I don't know how to delete this thread so I'm just letting everyone know my issue is resolved

If you want the ability to flash back to 4.3 from 4.4, install custom recovery and roms and keep your Knox 0x0, head over here and do some reading ( if you haven't been there already ).

-Root it, triangle away, unroot it, might just work.
-If the method above didn't work, it's probably Knox messing with u and u wouldn't be able to flash any anything even if u wanted to.
-For the Note 3 I would say yes.

Just download a full firmware and flash it through odin. Simple and u don't need headache.
for upgrade cross firmware (different base), advisable to do fullwipe. In upgrade to KK, full wipe will lessen ur headache about some FC/some apps not working/huge battery drain.
ur choice to make.
Yes update worth it. My battery can last almost 2 days with 3-4 hrs screen on.

Galaxy S5 Live Demo Unit Kernel

Hi to everyone,
I'm wondering if there's a way to get a Kernell fully working for a Galaxy S5 Live Demo Unit. For the S4 it were simply with an official firmware cooked and Adam's Kernel, but with S5 I don't know if this can work or not.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there, i am still waiting for my demo unit to put it in "normal" mode. For the Note 3 you had to:
1. Download the CF-Auto-Root and root device
2. Create backup
3. Wait for someone to create a firmware (from another firmware) without the functionalities that dont work on S5 demo (modem, etc)
4. Flash it with odin
So we will have to wait for someone to create this firmware. Perhaps not difficult (?)

Hi Jopa7,
actually I'm able to do all you've said, including create a Firmware for a Live Demo Unit (I did with a Galaxy S4 with success).
My only problem is to get a good and stable kernell that can work with the LDU of S5. For the S4 there was the Adam's Kernel that works great, but only for S4. For GS5 I canno't find a good one.

Hi, but in Galaxy Note 3 demo unit you could use stock kernel. I think you can do the same in S5. I have 2 S5, one of them also demo unit but still havent got time to try. Did you tried to flash a "custom" made firmware (with original modem and bootloader!) and with pit file(to get stock internal storage) etc from european open stock rom (german for example)? I am almost sure it will work ok
Cheers

No, I didn't try yet cause I think I'm the first outa here and I wanna be ery sure to do all things right
For the S4 the stock firmware needed for pull out modem and other stuff. The result were a .md5 file without a modem and NON-HLOS.bin.
And it works perfectly, after flashing a new Kernell. Do you think this way can work also for S5 without flashing any Kernel?
pit file
hi there do someone knows where to find samsung g900x pit file?

I'm not quite sure what is the region for O2.
Is it N9005 ? which region ?
you could actually find any stock rom from www.samfirmware.com
after that you can flash through ODIN.
you won't mess up your phone, BUT, you have to download the correct firmware for your device (e.g : if your device N9005, you have to use N9005 firmware. If yours is N900, then you have to use N900.)
and other than that, try to flash stock rom which is the same release with your current one or newer release.
If you don't understand on how to flash ODIN, pm me.

Hi Jabbarshah
If you followed xda tutorials by the letter, you have made a complete Nandroid backup before starting any modifications.
Just in case the information you eagerly need isn't present, you may restore that backup and regain access to it.
What lasted after ROM installation can be easily visualized using Phone INFO ★Samsung★. Specially Hardware and Personal tabs are stock information.

Your main information while seeking for a new ROM is the model SM-G900I. Nothing else matters.
You will just need to take care, for future flashes, that your bootloader and modem are matching (closer enough) the firmware you are flashing.
Example:
a) If you intend to flash PopWiz Telstra v5.1 that is compatible with your G900I, would be kinda complex as @iris28 doesn't clearly states which firmware version he's using. The information may be somewhere onto his thread but unfortunately isn't advertised as should.
b) THE GALAXY PROJECT by Master @djb77 states clearly that he's using Lollipop XXS1BPD3. :victory: ... so you end opting for it.
Now you just have to search for the closer firmware you can find that will match (not exactly) TGP. You have a complete list at Sammobile SM-G900I. Seek for your country/provider with higher Lollipop (5.0) release. If you are unable to find a flashable Odin file for that, you may do it yourself (xda way)
Hope I could be clear enough.
Have fun.
