One of the most used apps is the stock camera app. But I'm a little annoying with it. For example. When I record I like to always have it on SMOOTH 60 fps video. When I exit and resume recording, it goes back to the normal setting. Is there any way around this?
I hate this too. Anyone have a hack for this.

It doesn't end there. When trying to take a selfie the front always reverts to best face shot too.
dont forget the thanks button if I helped out!!

I've seen this done on many phones. (atrix, defy...). You edit the build.prop and change the setting for video recording resolution and then use an app like lgcamera to record at that resolution.
Anyways, anyone want to try this method on the Bravo? The recording resolution they have this set at now really sucks.

The sensor in this phone is just terrible. I think you're better off not banging your head against that wall...
If this phone had a nice sensor, it'd be as close to perfect as any phone I've ever used. Someday someone will finally do it right, right?

I don't think it's the sensor...it's the setting that is limiting the sensor.

I totally agree about the video camera and the still camera is just bearable. I would love to try this but have no idea what part of the build.prop to edit, or what to edit it to. but I am going to do a bit of searching and see what I can find. Thanks

Old post. Impossible idea. I wish though!
Hey you know sometimes when your stuck go back to start and go over everything again. While listening to Avenged Sevenfold's Waking the fallen from Unholy Confessions album. But listen to it really really loudly.
This really used to bug me and what made it worse is that in the build.prop, there is a line saying:
'media.capture.shuttertone=1'
Changing it to 0 didn't use to have an effect.
However, if you navigate to /system/media/audio/ui, you will find:
camera_click.ogg
VideoRecord.ogg
Simply rename this to:
camera_click.ogg.bak
VideoRecord.ogg.bak
After rebooting, wollah! No more annoying camera tones!
Hope this helps!
or you could just go into camera settings and turn it off

It was a stock setting for the droid 3 camera on my atrix running alien......not sure about stock blur though.
I'm using aura rom and im able to uncheck sound in the camera setting.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
it's a stock setting on my atrix as well.
not only that, but I believe certain states or something require there to be an camera sound that cannot be removed in order to prevent from sneaky pictures being taken.
like at a strip bar.
if you can even get your phone out without being accosted by security.

Oh crap, just realised the setting. I feel like a complete idiot lol.

lol.........
Or download Rom Toolbox (free version works as well) and go into Scripter and download the script to turn off camera sounds and set it to run at boot. Also takes care of the camera zooming in and out sounds I think.
The shutter sound is easy enough to get rid of, but I've found nothing that'll remove the camera focus sound yet. It drives me insane!

No, no... you earned my thanks.
I am using Aura with Androidlost app. Even if I turn off the camera sound in the camera, the sound is still there when using Androidlost. Now, it is finally gone.
Anyone else's preview screen when taking pictures or videos is black? Why doesn't it show the viewfinder?
Also, I posted this question 2 hours ago but the thread was removed? What gives? If a thread is deleted at least PM the poster and explain.
Thanks everyone, this has seriously been bugging me and I'm not sure if it's a problem with my Note only.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean that when you tap on the camera app, it opens the camera interface, but you only see black? But when you click a photo, it comes out fine?
If so, it seems to be an issue with the software.
Yeah that's exactly it! Anyone else!?

When i first got my Nexus 7 it had an icon for the Camera and when it updated to 4.2.1 it disappeared .......so this is a dumb question
where is it and how do i use my camera ? or i can only use it on apps that need the camera?
download nexus 7 camera launcher from market. works perfect.
i don't know why they removed it in the update.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
First question, are you crazy? Probably, yes...
As for the camera issue, they probably removed it because you don't use it to take pictures and it would likely only be used with apps like Skype or whatever. However, as the other guy said, the Nexus 7 camera app from the play store works perfectly. I think there is also a 4.2 camera app APK floating around these forums somewhere too.
*puts down random dismembered limb*
Nope you are just as sane as the rest of us.
So wait, people really take pictures with this thing? Isn't that like, very awkward? Pressing a button on a screen that isn't even facing you and all..
Thanks found it works great ! you guys rock

Hey Guys!
I'm trying to make a collage using 3 photos in the stock gallery, I have made a few of them. I'm using all high quality photos to make the collage, however, when I make the collage, it shows up as very grainy on the phone and on PC. Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks!

Long press a picture... check the box for a couple pics... Press menu and hit collage.
Then avoid hijacking threads. Just kidding
