You need to make sure that you follow the directions completely. You're probably getting bootloops because you're not wiping data. You need to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing.
For a rom with everything working, I'd suggest Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo or Sprint Lovers. You can flash something else afterwards, but try one of those first to get the hang of it. If there's a different rom that catches your eye, you can flash that - those are just my close to stock suggestions.

Pmed u also try like I said to locate a super wipe like vr superwipe or phillies finest superwipe kings format all but. Wipe multiple times before flashing like stated above

Flash the custom recovery and you can install the update bro. Or flash the OTA with TWRP recovery and keep root, install the superuser app from Play after the flash.

Cwm , twrp or cf auto root even with an automated root program.
Tried different versions of Odin, nothing helps.
Get same error everytime.
It starts flashing and then fails.
Phone still works after, just no root access.
Searched lots of posts but cant seme to find an answer.
Anyone cares to help?

Are you certain that you are writing 4.4 versions and not 4.3 versions? Everything kernel and recovery related is (slightly) different between 4.3 and 4.4, and because of the downgrade restrictions in 4.4 you can never write 4.3 stuff!
Yep tried different updated kernels.
Would the write protected has anything to do with it when i am in download mode?
After i updated to kitkat i also cant delete files anymore with a.o. xplore.
Maybe its related?
Grtz

Thanks man for your post.
I checked the reactivation lock box a while ago and that seemed to be the problem.
Already had the right kernel.
After installing cwm to become root had to install superSU 1.91.zip
Thru cwm.

I think a few of us are getting too carried away with root lol. I, myself, sure had to catch myself. Don't forget that most of us do not have a custom recovery which means if you brick your device, you'll probably have to pm the devs and if a lot of that happens, they'll end up with an even bigger inbox than before root lol but my main reason for the thread is that everybody is speaking on unlocking the bootloader but I haven't heard one word on a bump'd recovery like on the G3? Is that even possible on this phone? By the way, would it be risky if I tried the universal init.d app? Kinda wanna try L Speed on this.
Lg flash tool.
We can get custom stock roms if any dev wants to do it. We just flash the img file.

Lol who's being a "donkey"?
Only the 815EU and 811 have unlocked bootloaders hence TWRP the rest of the g4 community does not have this benefit... On the subject of bumped, pretty sure that exploit used has been closed by LG...if you guys thought root took long the wait for another BL exploit likely will be much longer. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see another one being found for a while. Seems this time around LG really wants to lock every avenue down. The next coming soon firmware update will patch the current root backdoor, also the root that vnmobile discovered seems to be patched as well, although he hasn't released any details, it could very well be the same backdoor.
