I used this guide as well as others, and always appeared to me to superuser icon but root checker and other apk me reported that the tablet does not have root.

Actually I have the same issue as winco, I had root before upgrade to ICS.
I used this guide, everything looked fine. I have installed CWM, I have Superuser app, but tablet does not seem to be rooted. Even when I press in CWM. "fix root" it does not help at all.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to root it without connecting the PC method?

If you have CWM installed, then you need to get the superuser.zip onto the internal sdcard partition. You can download it using the tablet's browser, then use an file manager application to copy the downloaded zip into /sdcard.
Then boot into recovery and install it with "install zip from sdcard".

I'm a newbee with android so please appologize for stupid remakrs or questions.
I wanted to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with android 4.04 (Icecream I think) because I can't use my WD-elements external 2TB disk, not even with an external power supply. The disk is not recognized by the tablet, I only get a message 'High power device connected".
After some googling I saw that the S3C driver is missing. It seems that the tablet has to be rooted to be able to innstall such a driver.
I followed instructions from this thread, used Odin en then tried to reset my gt_p7500 by pressing start and volume down and then volume up.
The TWRP windows shows up but the screen is running like hell. So I cannot reach twrp to backup my old image and install the new image.
So my tablet is still not rooted.
Pleas advise me what to do.

I'm new to this too. Will try to help as much as I can since I've been able to successfully flash new ROM, TWRP etc., The process is as follows:
1. I found that the only TWRP recovery + ODIN combo that worked for me was the one packaged in this thread. Booted my tab into Download mode -> flashed TWRP with the ODIN (both from the package in the mentioned thread) -> Rebooted into recovery TWRP.
1a. From TWRP -> Wipe -> Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data.
2. Did 'adb push <rom_image.zip> /sdcard' (without quotes. need to have Android SDK installed in your PC with version 1.0.29 or above. Reason for version is to have 'sideload' functionality which I'll show how to use later).
3. Did 'adb push <gapps.zip> /sdcard' (same notes as in above bullet).
4. Selected "Install" option in TWRP -> Selected rom_image.zip from /sdcard location -> swiped to flash/installed the ROM (I used this ROM and find it to be the best so far and suits my liking).
5. Installed gapps in the same process as above for ROM.
6. Rebooted system.
Additionally, you could download TWRP flashable .zip file of TWRP 2.6.3.0 in order to get 'adb sideload' functionality. I found this to be a savior for me many a time.

The problem lies within TWRP. As I wrote: TWRP shows up but the screen is scrolling like hell. So I am not able to reach TWRP to wipe or anything at all.
so still no root I am sorry to say.

Hi.. I have 5 backups witch can be visible in TWRP but in windows explorer when phone is connected and also phone root explorer can't be see in twrp back up folder. I want to manage it somehow. thanx

I have just made the backups. When I am in twrp recovery I can see them all. But on the internal card- twrp-backup is nothing either on the external card-twrp-backup is nothing but I didin't make the backup on ext. When I made a backup I choosed internal storage in twrp

I think it's because of the permissions that TWRP sets on the folder. You need to use a root file explorer to see them.

Thanks for share. i was using CWM and wanted to change it as TWRP. i had flashed it with odin but it did not opened in recovery mod. Then i have flashed CWM with odin and recovery menu came back. is there any suggestion about this. Thanks.

So I am trying to update my TWRP from 2.8.0.X to 2.8.4.X (latest version), however for some reason I can not find anything beyond V2.8.0.X on TWRP official download site on the thread, I am looking for Note 3 Qualcomm hlte version.
Is there another website I should be using to get latest updated version of TWRP for Note 3?

Make sure you flash the 4.4 bootloader version of TWRP.

In Device Manager :
Samsung_android triangle warning sign when I start ADB sideload.
I downloaded the driver from Here , installed the driver ,problem still persist.

It is a silly opinion. Recovery isnt connected to the android version.
Cyanogenmod cant be installed via Philz Touch because the cyanogenmod otapackage has a script to check props of recovery. Philz touch recovery was buit with proprietary files of Zte kis3. And other recoveries has props named "ara".
But I have installed cyanogenmod via Philz touch. If you want to know how just write me a private message.

I just make it easy for people. not meaning make the more people dummy by the opinion. But, not anyone understand how to unpacked/ repacked the ROM or Recovery or edit the updater-script by manually and do it only if they want to install any different ROM. Except Dev and advanced user, yes maybe they're know how to do it. I Just make the people easy by selecting the option of few recovery about what they're want to install

1. Download Flyme OS 4.2.8.2A stock firmware an official webpage Meizu
2. Flash it in stock recovery and select WIPE DATA
3. Get root permission
4. Download and install that APK
5. Open that app, and provide root permission.
6. Press "Press to UNLOCK BootLoader" - and wait, you will see "Unlock Finished"
7. After, will be available recovery mode, and you press to "Enter Recovery Mode"
8. Your phone reboot and enters for normal recovery - TWRP 2.8.6.0
9. Flash CyanogenMod12.1 for meizu MX4 (20160106) 【360（code:78c8）】
## OTHERS:
- come back to FLYME:flash patched-recovery-mx4 with flashify and then flash update.zip(offficial)
- Android version of MX4 please download the contents of the MX4 directory, Ubuntu version please download the contents of the Arale directory

You must make sure that you can get Root , then you can use the software to unlock (BL).

The Flyme4.2.8.2 have ROOT, but you must login first. If you forget, you can ask your friend borrow a account.

The main problem is - my phone is second hand. When i try to login in my acc, phone don't do than because first user not log off in his flyme acc. I wrote in meizu support but they can not help me because i dont have invoice. First user cant help me.

Not do the following flash will brick: unlock BL, update flymeOS4.2.8.2, use this software recovery(not philz);
Now you can enter fastboot or recovery? Or you can send the meizu after-sales,it is free.

I installed from fastboot stock recovery and flyme os 4.2.8.2, my phone finally works, i tried again to install cm12, and now all works fine, but your recovery is in chinese, i used philz recovery from slowsunet topic.
Everything looks great, finally cm12.
but
I have one question
Where is "more"/"options" navigation button ?
I dont know how to use "more, options" navigation in an application , I hope you know what I mean

[Port] [Recovery] BLU DASH M 2 - CTR Carliv Touch Recovery 6.6.1 - Root not required

We have the first port and root for this highly unpopular BLU phone.
BLU DASH M 2 - Carliv Touch Recovery 6.6.1 aka CTR​I have managed to replace the stock recovery and still keep the stock system since there are no customs roms at the moment. The recovery doesn't require you to be rooted but rooting is possible after flashing or booting this rom. Don't fall for the fake Dash files on youtube, I have downloaded them all and they are copies of similar phones and don't work.. This one is ported over from the D070Q by Carliv.
It will not flash a full custom rom but will flash ZIPs so you can root, recover, flash partitions and hopefully pave the way for a TWRP . I do have a TWRP ported over to the BLU Dash M 2 but the touch doesn't work so you can't pass the first swipe screen.

Instructions
- Make sure to backup any important files, this will wipe your data pics, vids, etc..
- Enable OEM unlock under developer options and power down phone
- Boot to stock recovery by holding PWR + VOL UP
- In recovery choose "Reboot to Bootloader" ( aka fastboot )
- You should now be at a blank screen with Fastboot mode: at the bottom
Open your terminal and type the following code, obviously replacing your paths with the correct ones.
fasboot devices < --- will return a serial number or something to indicate connection is OK
fastboot oem unlock <--- will prompt your phone screen to accept unlock request, chose VOL Up to accept and make sure it says "Unlock pass" at the bottom
For testing only
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot CTR_6.6.1_BLU_DASH_M2_D090U.img
For permanent flash
fastboot flash recovery CTR_6.6.1_BLU_DASH_M2_D090U.img
Don't power down, instead boot in the same recovery
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot CTR_6.6.1_BLU_DASH_M2_D090U.img
Inside CTR select Wipe cache, Dalvik cache, Userdata / Data.
Select Reboot Phone from CTR menu and when asked to patch , Select " NO "
On first reboot it will reboot twice, then boot the stock system as if it was a factory reset.
This now paves the way for root with Magisk. See my post after this for rooting Blu Dash M2.

Hey Thank you, got it working. Had to alter it a bit though. Had to select "Yes" for the fix as mine was restoring the old recovery.
Also when I followed your method, the system was not mounting the internal storage.
So I didn't wipe the data and used "Yes" when rebooting and the recovery is good.
I'll be looking out for the root constructions.

That will not work for root because Magisk needs the original boot rom. I'm sure it worked for you and that's a good start but wiping the partitions in order does work as well, I probably just left something out or got the order wrong. It's important we don't use CTR to patch because then Magisk complains about boot img being aleady patched and doesn't work.
Anyway you get the idea, it took me a few tries as well but in the end I managed to keep all 3 features intact, the stock rom + CTR + root. If you need to start again you don't need the full rom or sp flash, just flashing system.img to sytem partition works to restore everything.
I'm hoping to find the source code to the kernel and make a TWRP with touch working but the CTR is the only thing we have so far. It does flash zips just not full operating systems. It also flashes boot and recovery partitions.

I think most can figure out Magisk from here, the real hurdle was the lack of a recovery because the stock rom doesn't allow Magisk to be flashed.

How to Root Blu Dash M 2 with Magisk​
I have managed to root the stock system using Magisk. The stock recovery will not let you do this, as usual ignore the garbage on youtube and personal blogs, they're giving false info and fake files. This method works and I'm the first user who ported CTR 6.6 to allow for this.

FOLLOW THE ABOVE POST to replace stock recovery with CTR 6.6​
Instructions
- Follow first post to install CTR 6.6 recovery and reboot a couple of times to make sure it stuck.
- Enable OEM unlock under developer options and power down phone
- Boot to new CT 6.6 recovery by pressing PWR + VOL UP
- In recovery choose "Install Zip" and choose the "Magisk.zip" from your /SDCARD
Magisk installer will launch and if you did everything right, complete without errors.
- Select Reboot Phone from CTR menu and when asked to patch , Select " NO "
Phone should now reboot twice and have Magisk installed. I have verified root by deleting protected files like default.prop and gave Root Explorer permanent root access. If something doesn't work just find the right sequence. I believe it was flash system, flash recovery. wipe partitions. flash magisk
Enjoy !

The only thing left do now is find the Blu kernel source code for the M2 so a working TWRP can be compiled from scratch, then any MT6580 rom should be flashable.

Perfectly... Got it working using your same method after reinstalling the firmware... only difference was.
After installing recovery and booting into it, I then installed Magisk via adb sideload.
Confirmed root works.

Thank you very much! You do not know how much I needed to be root! I thought that this device was impossible to root. I really am very grateful. Friend was asking me if you could adapt the custom Slimrom rom for this device? because all the storage of this one takes the system, it would be of great help for all the users of this phone, I do not know if you can or are interested, but I thank you in advance

It is not premium, the file just expired so the site will keep it on line for a fee. I'll upload it again.

Try this one.. if the host tries to replace it with the original let us know and one of the others who have the file will re upload it to another host. I don't feel like signing up anywhere so that is why I use this host.

All 'ya 'all are welcome . Unfortunately I can't go any further because there is no source for the kernel so TWRP won't work because there is no touch to get past the first screen. Otherwise if it. did slim rom would flash without any problems, its just these older recoveries don't support a few things that TWRP has to make flashing full roms successful. If someone has source files for the BLU Dash M2 let me know.
I'll just let you guys know, I managed to make a pretty good custom rom with root only by deleteing everything but the core OS. I don't recommend this for everyone but I did get rid of just about everything and made this 6.0 more like 4.4 .. I got it to the point where even the phone and SMS didn't work and the google framework was deleted, then slowly began adding my approved versions of apps. Now its totally de googled but again I realize this isn't for everyone. I just wanted a small rom with camera ad GPS and those are working fine for me.
