S5 with 3 GB RAM, QHD Display... - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hmmmmmmmm..... S5 Prime? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I'd be inclined to believe GFXbench stats if they didn't show a QHD SM-G900S just a few months ago. When benchmarks can't easily be faked, I'll give these "sources" some credibility. The S5 "Prime" doesn't exist nor will it ever.

Held conviently up the proverbial Samsung sleeve until the next Apple iPhone launch....boom.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

The Next Big Thing Is Several Months Away! (Note 3 Wishlist) / Post Feedback!

What do you want in the Note 3? Eventually, a new product comes out every year; and it doesn't necessarily mean it is better; and it doesn't necessarily mean it is a success, lol
The Note 3 will very likely feature the following:
Obviously, the Note 2 is under scrutiny by Apple; will Note 3 be out later next year, only the outcomes of the case between Apple and Samsung will tell
Obviously, the design of the Note 3 will be quite different; perhaps Flexible AMOLED Unbreakable Display (maybe not)--possibly same SuperAMOLED like Note 2 but with more pixels squeezed into one display?
Obviously, 5.5" screen display will be the same; Samsung Nailed It!
Obviously, 2GB RAM, 1080p Resolution with a ppi of ~440
Obviously, Samsung Exynos 5 5450 Quad-core (2 GHz or more)
Obviously, 13mp Camera
Obviously, A better battery will be there as seen between the Note 1 and Note 2 with wireless charging
Lastly, Obviously, Further Enhancements to S-Pen (Hardware and Software Enhancements)
Not to forget, The next iteration of Android OS and Samsung's Touchwiz 6.0
*Final Add to Rumorville Korea*
Agree or Disagree?
What do you want in the Note 3?
EDIT
After CES 2013
SuperAMOLED HD similar to Note 2; but 1080p resolution with ~440ppi; 6.3"
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (Forget Samsung's Plastic)
Exynos 5 Octa (1.8 GHz A15 & 1.2GHz A7 Quad-core Chips); More power-efficient
Mali-658
2GB RAM
13mp Camera
Obviously, slightly larger battery
Android's Lime OS
In a Alternate Universe; Flexible 5.5" AMOLED Display with Corning's Flexible Glass (Very unlikely in my opinion; will start appearing in early-2014)
So, what do you think?
1.crApple has nothing on samsung and will lose the case
2.nope unbreakable plastic screen like the one in the S4
3.With the S4 having 5" screen i doubt it i think they will try to set it further away maybe 5.7" not sure
4.yup
5. 1.9ghz? why? the current chips is crazy fast and the coming quad core A15 one is the bleeding edge of technology why need such high frequency to drain battery?
6.yup
7. (from me) this thread is kinda useless right now unless you are looking for "wish list" then it will be ok, other than that i see no use for this
The Note 99 will have a teleporter function, to beam you from one location to another
***Final***
I'm confident with the following,
Obviously, the Note 2 is under scrutiny by Apple; will Note 3 be out later next year, only the outcomes of the case between Apple and Samsung will tell

Who wants to bet? Lol. :cyclops:
5.7" screen
128gb build in

4200 mlh battry
The same gps card as the N2
And .... I dont see a way to avoid a very hard rooting and modig change

Unbreakable Screen / Display? Looks Assuring,
Dai Nippon Printing’s new screen cover plastic
So even Samsung realizes a 700/800$ mobile phone should have an unbreakable display, but some idiots here don't!

Explains why Samsung encourages their customers to buy flip covers and protective covers for the Note 2; comes in a variety of 'pretty' colors, lol
Not like Apple is any better, lol
I like how you keep using the word "obviously" when all you did was speculate. You obviously don't know what the word obviously means.
It's called Figure-of-Speech. :victory: Based on the Release Pattern of Samsung's New Products, obviously, the specifications mentioned above are very likely.

Camera should be kept at 8MP!!
More megapixels is not the problem. It is the ability of the sensor to perform better harsher or dim light conditions. Even currently, we are nowhere close to getting all that we can out of a 8MP sensor. Higher megapixels just makes this worse. If the technology would improve for low light or better dynamic range, losing more photons, having less light information per pixel, or having more megapixels to process would just negate any technology gained if they put a 13 megapixel camera.
Take for example LG Optimus G. 13 megapixels, and the quality is just stunningly bad. This is the same sensor that Samsung tried to buy from Sony, but said Sony couldn't provide enough for production demands of the Note II. We seriously dodged a bullet. More like a shotgun blast.
Too soon for unbreakable glass.. there is a big market for cases and accessories. For example look at the iphone 5. Scratches easy. Almost everyone has a case lol...

These replies are too funny. I agree with the OP on everything. Unbreakable glass would be great considering all of these freak accidents but I doubt it'll happen. Considering how expensive this phone is it should've already had unbreakable glass. 1080p screen will definitely be added, I think we're all sure of that.
I wonder when they will add the successor to Wireless N
At least 3GB of RAM, I highly doubt they'll leave it at 2 when there's already been rumors about 3GB phones in the Samsung labs.

I would estimate no 3GB phones until '2' years from now
Battery life and battery capacity has been improved a lot since the Galaxy S1 and S2; I wouldn't be surprised to a see progress in battery technology by the time the next Note releases in the market

No 3GB iPhones maybe, but I'd bet anything the GS4 is coming this spring with at the very least 3GB of RAM.

Note III will be Announced on September 4

5.7 full hd display
3gb ram
13mp camera and many more
The next generation Galaxy Note phablet from Samsung is one of the most anticipated devices of the year, so understandably rumors about it aren't hard to come by. According to latest report the Galaxy Note III will be announced two days before IFA 2013 kicks off - on September 4.
The report also says Samsung Galaxy Note III is said to sport a 5.7" Super AMOLED display, rather than the 6" unit that was most frequently mentioned so far. The 1080p resolution is still expected to feature a Snapdragon 800 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa processor along with 3 GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the third generation Galaxy Note phablet is said to come out with a 13 megapixel rear camera and will be slightly thinner than the Galaxy Note II with its profile measuring 8mm.
Unfortunately, there is no official word from Samsung just yet, but the IFA 2013 launch seems inevitable, considering the strong competition in the phablet club.

5.7 and 1080p 99% pentile , with a so so chip that will have the same relative 3D power than the note at 720p.
Skipping to note 3.
Call me again when they launch a 1080p non-pentile with better processor and 6" without bezel to put the frontal samsung logo.
As I feared, the Note 3 will be a minor update to the Note 2. Samsung needs to bring a new phablet to remain competitive in this market segment and so it decided to fit the S4's camera, fit a new processor with dubious real life performance improvement, slightly increase the size of the screen and make it FHD to keep it up with the Joneses. Big deal...
Note 4, please.
This does NOT make me anxious for the Note 3 to be released.
Seems they want me to pay hundreds of dollars just to upgrade to a 1080p display that's slightly larger, and I bet we'll lose A LOT of battery life too (because of the bigger/higher resolution display).

I tend to agree with you. Of course there are always consumers who want to have the latest phone, but considering the price tag and that the Note series consumer is, IMO, a bit more tech savvy than the S series consumer, I believe that the Note 3 sales will be disappointing.
I look at the price of my Note 2 and the price tag of my laptop and they are about the same. When people look at the size of my Note 2 and ask "is that a cellphone?" I always answer: "actually, it is a pocket computer that also makes phone calls", 'cause that's the way I see my Note 2 (and in that perspective, 5.5" isn't too big).
Now, I'm not going to sell my laptop just because the new generation has some minor hardware updates. I don't really need them and it does not make any financial sense to spend money on a new laptop when my current one suits my needs perfectly. Specially in these times when we must think twice before spending our money. This reasoning also applies to my "pocket computer that also makes phone calls", i.e., my Note 2.
The two things that I really miss in my everyday use of the Note 2 is a slightly bigger screen to take notes, browse and read PDFs, and improved sunlight legibility. A camera with better low light quality and an image stabilizer that actually works would also be handy. The Note 3 brings none of this. Hence, I'll save my money for whatever future device offers me the features I really need, Samsung or not.

+1.
I'm really disappointed in Note III specs, I'm already looking for this beast: Sony Xperia Z Ultra :good:
I used Note 2 since the first day it was released, which makes it about almost 10 months old already. And to me, with the direction Samsung is heading by releasing so many variants, S4 Zoom, S4 Active, S4 Snap 800, S4 LTE Snap 600, S4 GSM Octa and so on makes me wanna puke, and I'm pretty sure there'll be at least 2-3 variants of Note 3. Hence, for once, I'm going to the brand that I hated so much last year, but now I've come to respect in terms of developer support and that is Sony. I'll go with Xperia Z Ultra. I don't need the S-Pen since I've used it for less than 50 times, so with Z Ultra, if I need to jot down notes, I'll take some pen or pencil and be done with it.Plus, the ROMs will have less bloatware too :victory::victory::victory: and that's an epic win for me
Or maybe, just maybe, we could actually wait for Samsung to reveal Note 3, and then discus on specs and if it's worth of upgrade.
I don't think I will upgrade to the Note III. I am getting my Note II in a few days, but I have used the Note II since launch date since I bought one for my dad. I am sure we can see a 2.3-2.5 GHz Snapdragon 800 or Exynos Octa Core Processor with 13 MP camera, 1080p resolution, a screen around 5.9", 2-4 GB of RAM (probably 3), 3600-3800 mAh battery, upgraded S-Pen support, a bunch of the S4 features, some unique features for the Note III, non-pentile display too, etc. The only things that I see as an upgrade are the processor and RAM really. The screen resolution is nice, but it is not necessary/ground breaking to have for app usage since devs support many devices. The camera will be amazing like the S4's, the battery life will be compensating the increase in screen resolution power. I wouldn't be surprised if we see three Note III's, an LTE model, an international HSPA+ (N7200), and LTE-Advanced model.

I cautiously agree.
But at the end of the day, the stats on the final product will make it or break it I think. Every website is throwing out any rumor that they can find, and I'm not believing most of it.

I also used the Note 2 since launch date (10 months). The more I use it the more i appreciate it for it's battery life, performance and a nice big screen. I never had a phone that I liked this much. I usually own a phone for 2 years so this should last me till Note 4.

I have had this note 2 for less than a month and I love it. Will get the note 3 because I know it will use the new Arm processor. I really think it sucks that Sammy used basically the same from the note 2 except for more ram and two more cores.
When you look at what is everything with Snapdragon quad, you can see how much more performance it provides.

Trade SG S5 for Note 3

Hello guys,
I'm thinking about trading my Galaxy S5 for a Note 3, what you you think about the N3 terminal?
It's worth it?
I don't think it's worth it...
s5 pros: water proof ,slightly faster cpu, better camera, smaller easyer to use 1 hand, newer ,fingerprint scanner, heartbeat monitor
note 3 pros: bigger screen, 1gb more ram, spen
not so such what are more note 3 pros as I am a s5 user myself
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
I think the N3 is one year older than the S5, so when we do get updates, the N3 would be kinda left behind, but limjailok covered most of the important details, but the size depends on age and size of your hand (as my mom need the N3 for the bigger screen) but it all depends on the person.

Is Note 4 still worth it ?

Is Note 4 still worth it to buy ?
I am thinking of buying a new one. Is N910C with Samsung Exynos 5433 octa core is good ?
I am choosing between Note 4 and S6. which is better ?
Note 4 . JUST DO IT !
Go Ahead for Note 4 , It's pretty one i swear & also S6 is not Supporting SD Card but Note 4 Dose ^_^
My Device is Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910C
I will go for Note 4. Is there a big difference between quad core and octa core in note 4 ?
Heres the thing with tbe note 4 vs s6
Note 4 is a much better phone in my opinion. Its a phkne fkr the android enthusiasts who want to really get the most out of their phone hence the big screen and overhauled processer. The octacore has more cores and can run multiple strings but does eat some battery. The big disadvantage if the octacore is that it's only available in the international version.
The problem is that if your phone cracks, lcd goes bad, etc and you wan to replace the digitizer, board etc you have to buy an jnternational version or else it will not work meaning that they are more rare and a bit more pricey
Against the s6, the note 4 has similar specs but youre not really enjoying it on that small screen. And even if youre not a fam of big phones, at least stay away from the horrible seald glass back. Iphone learned from that mistake on their iphone 4 and those things were ugly once cracked. If you want that size of a phone get an lg g4 or an s5.
Back to the note 4. It is an overall well built phone and a beautiful one as well. The so called "phablet" size is something you get used to and it grabs alot of attention to woth the exclusive s pen as well (which is always cool)
Ask more note 4 users though and get their opinions too! ☺☺

I consider Note too ,but wchich version snap or exynos? The main priority is battery! So wich would be better?

Note4 experiance sum and verdict
Became a sucker the other day and bought a Note4 910F to replace my Note3.
Big misstake, why?
Too sum up my experience which includes 48hr of intense working around the phablet, I'm gonna simplify it as best as I can. So this is my verdict.
Cons:
- Battery drainage is a fact.
- All games, even "wheaphones" lag like a *****. The screen is simply too powerful for the chipset which makes all "heavy" games unplayable after 30 min or so. Also 1080p movies begins to freak out after some time because of heat and throttling.
- Bloatware. Hours you have to spend on removing and disabling them.
- No tempered glass covers actually look good, it bubbles up around all the edges because of the beveled screen.
- S Pen apps LAG. Autodesk SketchBook is a nightmare when using some brushes.
- You'll have too tweak in DEV's mode to hospitalize all functions and graphic Sam****s have put years on developing because it don't work fluently.
Pros:
- Beautiful screen resolution and pretty to look at.
- Good camera
- Nice feel too it
- Fingerprint (even though some have reported it too be some cause of the lag)
- Scores VERY VERY well on my tests.
3Dmark score was 1227, and AnTuTu score was 66 822.
- Fluent menus after removing all work sam****s have put in.
It's basically a phone without value from it's maker.
I've gone from first Note to 4. And note 3 is probably the best of them, every model with a different purpose. Note 4 was supposed to be a flagship but if you ask me it's a epic fail as they "DESIGNED" it for Gear VR and gaming! Say what now? They meant the 15-20 minutes you actually can play the game before the phone heats up, drains the battery and throttles in utter dissapointment. Thank you SAM****S, you've become as cheap as Apple's iphone.
Theres alot more I can say, but those points are sure a buzz kill.
Take my advice. Wait for Huawei Mate 8.
My Note4 is no longer with me lmfao. It felt sorry for itself and comitted suicide.
Good luck.

Not sure but check out the review on gsmarena where they review the sound quality. The sound quality was good (compare to my nexus 4) but I bought a usb otg cable anyways so I can use it with my usb dac.
The only con I would say about the note 4 really is the the shiny metal sides can be scratched easily. As other have said, between this phone vs. The LG G4, it really depends on what's more important to you. And the compare would be note 4 snap vs. LG G4 vs. Note 4 exnoys. I would of gotten the G4 if it looked better/more premium , had better battery life, and something that stands out like the spen.
@imeem true that. I mean I have both the G4 and the Note 4 and they are extreemly close in specs and ease of use. If there is no need for the spen though, I would say to get the G4. However the few times you need to write a note down, Samsung outdid themselves on that. Otherwise, take the s pen out of the equation and you have a slightly larger G4 with a physical home buttom

Note 4 over GS5

I am about to buy the Snapdragon Note 4 and I am wondering if it is worth buying it over my Galaxy S5. I am just not willing to spend 100/200+eur for the N5 and I don't like its looks. I think that bigger screen would be welcome. Just wondering if it is worth buying just for better build, bigger screen etc. Should I consider some other device?
I will say yes, very much so. Better display, S Pen more importantly, and maybe some other additions as well, its a Note for god's sake, you can't compare with S series. S series is the iPhone of Samsung, if you know what I mean (though I have probably embarrassed and insulted Samsung enough by comparing S series with that piece of cake).
