Yeah I'm on 4.4.2... So there's absolutely no way to remove all the useless Samsung and TMobile bloatware?

[Q] Root without tripping knox?

Hey, I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500. I want to root it and install cyanogenmod 11 on it. But I read that there's some problem with Knox and how it ends your warranty if the flag changes to 0x1. I'm currently on Android 4.4.2 kitkat official ROM by Samsung. Can I root it without loosing my warranty? Also, I read that Kingoroot roots your phone and doesn't trip your knox counter either. Does anyone know about this?
The main thing I wanna do after rooting is change the DPI of my phone. I hate such big icons.

I did search for it. As far as I know, saferoot method is not working with 4.4.2 ROMs.

I hate Samsung for this. I'm thinking of trading in my phone for a Nexus 5 now. But I wonder how will I live without memory card support! :'(

I wish I could. I'm a student and only I know how I bought S4. It's only one month old. So, I can't buy HTC ONE M8. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion.
If your phone is unlocked
Sell it
Then get some little money then buy htc

1. No.
2. Samsung Pay.
3. All custom ROMs are TW - no CM/AOSP right now.

Sorry I'll ask here but there's one thing I don't understand: if I follow the root instructions, besides tripping knox and not being able to use samsung pay, do I loose all data because phone will require a total reset?

I didn't lose any data from rooting. I did chose to wipe after installing a custom rom. But normally the user data is left alone. This is probably due to not having an sd card.

Can i Root my not 3 Running lollipop without tripping knox.

AP:N9005XXUGBOK9
CP:N9005XXUGBOD3
CSC:N9005OJVGBOI1
If it can be rooted, please describe each step. Thanks
No. Some apps claim to but don't believe them.
Yes, it is possible but you will have to downgrade to 4.4.2 first and you will probably lose your data in the process.

Note: It is possible knox may still trip, so do it at your own risk.
Hope I helped!
Downgrading to stock kk may still trip Knox. I downgraded two s4 phones to stock kk from stock LP and Knox was changed to 1 from 0.

rooting I9506 nowadays

Hello xda,
i have a serious question about my S4 I9506. All i want is SU so i can remove all the bloatware i don't need and unroot afterwards.
It has the latest FW I9506XXSDPK1 with latest security patch (i don't know if the old methods like CF-Autoroot or towelroot will still work).
And this shall all happen without loosing/triggering KNOX if possible.
Thank you in advance.

Impossible.
CF-Auto-Root is the only way to go.

What model? G950F/FD? G950U? There is a very simple way to root G950U/G950W devices already in existence. It's called SamFail and is listed with an accompanying rom in the threads section.

Sadly, currently there is no way of rooting Exynos S8 without tripping knox..
Unfortunately as mentioned above and beyond there is no way currently without tripping Knox. Sadly, I use Samsung Pay alot and like the idea of keeping that option hence no rooting as long as this device is my DD.

A question if anyone can help me.
I really need to Root my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F) cause i need to try to recover some photos and most apps to recover need the root done.
I know that root trips Knox, but if i install an official firmware after been tripped, will phone get back to normal, or it will tripped forever??
Thanks

It physically trips knox warranty, so if it’s tripped once, you can’t recover it unless you replace motherboard.

But once I install an official firmware, I will be able to use Knox and Samsung pay again?
Thanks

Nope, you won't be able to use it again, even after you install an official firmware afterwards.
