random vibrations - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Another issue here. Installed lastest slimkat and i keep getting random vibrations. I dont know whats causing it. Sometimes the vibration stays for 8-15 seconds. And other times its real short. I think i saw someone posted a similar issue before, but i cant find where it is.
Anyways, anyone else with this problem?

Update: ok so i think i found out what is causing the random, out of no where, vibrations. Reinstalled slimkat with complete clean wipe, still having issues. Then i decided to turn off anything that causes vibrations, starting with keyboard (which i had turned on for 1ms duration). Luckily, that solved the issue for me. I havent had random vibrations since then.
This is just a possible solution for others who may encounter same issue in the future.

[Q] Weird issues - Touch lockups, presses buttons on its own etc

Having some weird issues. Sorry if this has been posted before, I have searched but hard to narrow down.
Not sure if this is a hard/soft issue but its happened for long time even on clean installs on all CM roms I have tried.
My nexus seems to randomly go crazy where all of a sudden touch will lock up or have serious delay or it will just start pressing buttons on its own without any interaction and only way to solve is to power off as power menu will just dissapear so cant hot reboot or anything else.
Does it sound familiar to anybody or anybody know of cause/solution?

Does this happen only while plugged in? using a different charger may be the issue.
Else there should be a problem with the digitizer!

No it happens randomly whether charger is in or not. Thankfully it doesnt happen often but every once in a while and just need to reboot.
Something like this happening with me, only on a Secondary User when the Immersive Mode is activated. My touchscreen looks up while using Play Books or MX Player. I've made a video about it as well.
Posted on both xda and the AOSP Issue Tracker page but didn't get any responses yet.

[Q] Nexus 4 Random restart

So recently ever since the android 5.0.0 update I have been experiencing my phone randomly shutdown, or more a less in a crashing manor since it never does the shutting down dialog it just goes black. It happens especially when my battery is below %50 but not fully discharged. At first I thought maybe it was just the stock rom and one of its possible glitchs, but then I changed over to CyanogenMod 11 and it is still doing the same thing. Im thinking its something physical with the phone because out of rage , and hopefully no judging, I punched my phone and it happened again. I dont see why it happened because and dont think that the punch was the direct cause because it happens in my pocket, and I even gave it a violent shake just to see if that was one of the problems. Has anyone experienced this? Ive looked through other posts and none of the fixes seem to work. Ive had the phone for over a year and a half and now since I installed 5.0.0 its restarting randomly.

Random reboots with multitasking

Hi guys,
I've had a super weird issue with my phone for the past few months (although I don't remember exactly when the issue started happening). Basically, my phone randomly reboots when there is a chathead/bubble/etc on the screen. This problem happens when I use Facebook Messenger chatheads, bubbles by LinkBubble, and chatheads by YAATA. I don't think it's a program-specific issue, nor does my phone reboot every time I use those apps. It's very inconsistent and hard to predict.
Have any of you encountered this problem? Any ideas for what is causing it and/or how to fix it? It's really annoying to have my phone randomly reboot itself multiple times each day. I know I could just uninstall the three apps that seem to trigger the reboots, but I really like those apps and want to find a way to keep them around.
Have you over clocked at all?

No. The problems initially started when I was on stock, unrooted. I'm now on CM12.1 and rooted, but the random reboots are still happening.

Lock screen freezes

Hello XDA,
This is my very first community post so please don't judge if I do something wrong here
Let's cut to the chase. I am a happy owner of the OP6T 8/256gb phone and I am super happy with the device, however, I have been having an awkward issue. From time to time, couple of times a day, my phone would not recognize neither double tap nor the power button to wake the display up. Usually out of frustration I press the power button couple of more time, but nothing happens. Then after 3-4 seconds the display wakes up and even opens the camera (because I pressed the button couple of times, but not in a fast way...). Afterwards, the phone works without an issue until same thing happens hours later.
So my question is if anyone is experiencing anything similar and found the culprit of it?
If you need any additional info on my settings, please let me know!
It is not the worst thing that could be happening with a new phone, but you know, one expects the brand new phone to work 100% of the time
Looking forward to your replies and ideas!
Many thanks,
Donatas
It's happened to me only recently. I'm rooted with magisk 17.3 running a few modules such as dual speaker, Google dialer framework and viper. I was on stock kernel, but switched to Smurf kernel without any hiccups so far.
Well I am full stock, even with stock launcher... That's why it bothers me that it is happening:/ thanks for your reply

Yes this has happened to me, glad to see I'm not alone.
It happeneds randomly, like few times a day, not too frequent to render the device unusable, but enough to be irritating - especially when it's a brand new device.
My setup;
*Rooted
*Magisk (viper & YouTube vanced module)
*Stock kernel
I'm at a loss as to what's the cause of this issue, it's very weird, it could just be an oxygen os bug that will be resolved by OnePlus. Who knows. Hopefully if more people comment about this here - we will eventually get to the bottom of it.
So far on 9.0.6 build the issue appears to have been fixed, I have not had any random temporary lock screen freeze.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Glad to hear it is fixed for you!
Unfortunately, since the update, I already experienced it 4 times...
Even more so, sometimes now the phone would randomly stop playing music from Soundcloud (I dont know about other apps, i predominantly use Soundcloud).
I love the phone but it is a little shame that some of these features are failing
Hope 1+ will fix this and we all be happy!
Yeah, sometimes my device doesn't respond to double-tap. Usually I just have to double-tap again and it wakes up. I haven't noticed the issue with the power button, but I rarely use that to wake the device. I did have a situation recently where the device wouldn't wake from a screen tap no matter how many times I tried. I can't recall if using the power button woke it or if I had to force a reboot. But that's only happened that one time.
I just updated to 9.0.6 a day ago. I don't think I've experienced any non-wake issues since then. Really haven't been paying that close attention, I guess.
I believe I am having this issue. I just flashed 9.0.7 from TMO and I'm rooted with magisk v4a and vanced. I get random freezes where I can't tap anything on my screen. I have to turn it off and on with the power button.
I experience this as well. I thought it was just an isolated thing, and it's kinda annoying...
It's very irritating. I'm trying to pin point it and so far I notice it with Firefox and Spotify transitions.

Periodic recurring touchpad problem

I've read about similar problems. For some time, the right side of the phone screen has started responding strangely and imprecisely to touch. It is annoying because it causes huge problems with the use of the phone. The weird thing is that turning the phone off and on briefly fixes the problem for a while but the problem comes back soon. Now I have a Havoc ROM but MIUI the problem was identical. It's something with hardwate or drivers, I think. A temporary shutdown fixes this problem for a short time, so it is not permanent damage. Unfortunately, the phone is over a year old and there is no warranty. Has anyone experienced such symptoms?
