MiLauncher for Tablets
I'm proud to announce the overhaul of the MIUI Launcher for Tablets.
It's been a very long time since I've updated the project, as when I left it, (due to not owning a tablet any more) I believed that it was working as I had intended on Tablets, sadly, as of Android 4.3 that was no longer the case.
With the release of Android 4.4 I obtained another tablet and decided to update the project. This is the result of my work, my research and the help of a few others, who will be mentioned below.
Please, provide feedback, hit thanks, and most importantly, enjoy it. Please understand that this is currently in beta, the bugs that it currently contains are all small graphical quality of life ones, and I'll be getting right on those.
As someone who is studying full time, please understand that I don't have a lot of free time, but I'll do my best to update this regularly and respond to any concerns or issues you may have.
I do not give permission for my work to be redistributed, direct linked or posted anywhere else other then XDA-developers.com or en.miui.com forums. Anyone who shares this must post a link to this thread and give credit.

Android 2.3-4.4 support
Code:
Beta 1:
31st March 2014
Initial re-release
Based off MiHome 2.22.0
Resolved an issue where the launcher would not open on Android 4.3 and 4.4 devices
Not really a ton to say as of yet
They're probably a little giant, brace yourself.
Bug or Graphical Issue / Work around
Beta 1:
The weather clock 4x2, Clock 2x1 and Clock 2x2 do not appear graphically correct on the HP Touchpad.
> Pending further feedback from other devices.
In the Launcher Settings -> Launcher: There is text that does not appear in english.
>This is the Hide Apps With a Pin Function.
Static Wallpapers seem blurred when using this launcher on the HP Touchpad.
> Pending further feedback from other devices, not sure if this is device specific or not, Live Wallpapers Seem to Work Fine.
There is text that does not appear in english in the themes market
Obviously as the market stuff is server side, I can't change that, however there may be a few local images > Pending further investigation.
MIUI Express Locker is terribly scaled, low res and buggy
> Disable Express Locker, which is stated in the install instructions anyway.
This is something I'm still looking into and I'm not sure if I can fix it, generally it's about as buggy and slow as most lock screen replacements anyway,
not sure if they've improved that from the last time I used MiHome on a phone > Pending further investigation.
If you have an issue be it graphical or performance based, the first step is to make sure it isn't a bug from your rom,
if you've excluded that possibility post in the main thread, for me to be able to do anything with it, you must include;
Code:
Your Device Name
Your Android Version
Your Current Rom
Your Device DPI
Version of this Launcher
The problem.
If you haven't followed the install instructions below, don't expect me to do anything to resolve your issue until you do.
Part 1:
Download and Install MiHome-Step1.apk
Once the launcher loads slide up from above the nav bar and hit "Launcher Settings."
Scroll down the options until you find "Cell Layout Type"
Hit it and select the option that suits your device best
Please choose wisely because you'll need to re-install the app to change this.
Part 2
Download and Install ZSC.mihome.BX.apk, (X being the latest version number)
You will be prompted to update MiHome, obviously confirm it.
Once MiHome loads, you may or may not notice a rather mangled looking clock widget.
I am aware of this and for the moment, delete it.
Head into launcher settings, if you don't have a physical menu button look in the next section.
Hit the "Lockscreen" option, uncheck "Use MiHome Locker",
this is the lockscreen replacement Xiaomi includes with the launcher.
It doesn't play well with larger screens or landscape as of the moment
Optional But Very Recommended
If you do not have a physical menu key,
long press an empty part of the screen and hit the "Toolbox" icon.
Select the "Launcher Settings" icon on the far right.
You'll see the icon is on your home screen, open the settings.
Hit the "Launcher" option, look down at the last option "Choose Swipe Up Gesture Function"
Hit it and select the last option "Swipe up to open Menu."
Now you can view all your options by sliding up from above the nav bar again!
If your transitions seem slow, or strange when changing home pages,
Head into "Launcher Settings", Hit Launcher
Hit "Screen Transition Effects" and select something other than "Classic",
This is optional, but Classic looks silly and makes the launcher seem less fluid.
It may also appear strangely on some devices.
Beta 1:
Step 1 - Refer to the Instructions
Step 2 - Refer to the Instructions
Code:
I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device, but I highly doubt anything will.
I will try it. The only bad thing about miui is the battery drain. Like universities drain money from you
Send from my SM-T210R (Rocket Tab Rom) using XDA HD Premium
Hi Guys
Many thanks for this great work.
Are there any bugs/feedback as this still shows BETA
Also, Will this be work on Tab3 T110
thanks once again

I must say that the new official JB from Samsung is a great rom, really snappy and beautiful, but my enjoyment of it has been hampered (until now!) with the silly "phablet" interface and its ridiculous placement of buttons, etc. The flashable mods kicking around on the forum do not work for me on this build, and have their own caveats anyway...
So... A new way:
First let me say that this method is a little tedious but the final results are well worth it IMO.
*If you want the quickest, easiest TabletUI on rooted stock then see this post*
Secondly, I will not be responsible for any damage to your device. The modifications work for me. You use them at your own risk.
Ok. Now what you'll all want to see! Here are several thousand words worth of pictures:

So how did I do this you ask? Well my friends come along and I'll explain.
First my device info: P3113 running stock 4.1.1 from here, rooted with CF-Auto-root and running official CWM 6.0.2.3.
**This should work for anyone with a P31XX tablet running a rom with a stock samsung JB kernel. (Probably won't have good results with a rom that has been heavily graphically modified already.)See confirmations below.**
Prerequisites:
Your device Must be rooted and have busybox. (Edit: Having a backup launcher installed before you start is a good idea in case TouchWiz craps out temporarily)
1> We are going to install the Xposed Framework. Follow these instructions completely(steps 1-6) and if you want check out the original thread here and don't forget to thank these guys as all the credit goes to them!
Don't be afraid that this was originally for the GSII it works perfectly on my Tab 2.
2> Now that you have the Xposed framework all set up run Xposed App Settings and navigate to Touchwiz Home, select it and in the next window enable the toggle in the top right to allow modification of its properties. Now set the DPI to 160, leave the other options, click save, then yes.
3> Follow the process in 2> to set Google Play Store to 160 DPI. (This is important. We are going to change the system DPI and this will kinda break Play Store otherwise!)
4> Using your method of choice edit your build.prop. Modify this entry and only this entry:
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=160
to read:
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=133
5> Now reboot your device (I also wiped cache/dalvik but I don't think its necessary).
I don't think you should have any of the issues i did with Touchwiz. But if you do have it FC repeatedly you can do like I did: used Search gesture from home screen (swipe up from buttons back/home/etc) searched for Nova Launcher and installed via Play Store, opened, tapped "Just Once" when asked about default launcher. Then killed Touchwiz App, wiped its cache/data and rebooted then set Touchwiz as default again.6> Disable the Quick launch softkey by Settings/Display/Quick launch. This is to avoid graphical overlap in portrait mode, but it is purely cosmetic and you can keep quick launch active if you prefer. (If you want to instead remove the mini app launcher arrow check out this post. Thanks ketut.kumajaya!) Also you may want to set large font by Settings/Display/Font Size.
7> Go through your apps 1 by 1 to see if they look alright with the 133 DPI or if you need to revert to the default 160. Follow the procedure in step 2> for each app you wish to change. For some system apps (Settings for example) you will need to reboot for the changes to take effect.
8> Enjoy your tablet again! And you can even have some fun playing around with app-specific DPI settings. You may find, like I did, that you prefer almost all of your apps in the 133 DPI mode, ie Gmail, Youtube, Contacts, Calendar, Maps, Browser, Settings.
Some additional info:
As an added bonus with Xposed App Settings you can now control the screen DPI and size for almost any application independently of the system/OS. This means that in some cases you can use an app in either tablet or phone mode and use the different resources for each! Have fun playing around with applications and get them tweaked to your preference!
If you want to you can adjust the DPI for System UI. This can get you larger system buttons and notifications/shade. However the width of the nav bar does not scale with the buttons so there are graphical inconsistencies.
Don't adjust any settings for Android System with Xposed as this will lead to System UI FC's (which are a pain in the ass!)
I have only tested this on Stock P3113UECLK7 but my gut tells me that this procedure should work on all 7" Tab 2's running stock. You will just have to be brave like I was and try it out for yourself!
Update: working on P3100 as well(thanks sozofriend1234!)
Update: working on P3110! Thanks haller!
Update: working (and looking sweet!) on kwbr espresso 3110! Thanks artoner974!
Update: Working with KK-Boot Custom Boot Image! Big thanks to karaern for being brave and trying this! (I was too chicken myself, but I am running it now and it is Awesome! Thanks ketut.kumajaya for KK!)
FYI, I set the following additional apps to 160 DPI:
Camera (necessary, I think)
Polaris Office (highly recommended)
Peel Smart Remote (highly recommended)
Internet (put it back because quick control was just too small)
MiniTaskcloserService (fixes transparent line through popup task closer!)
Photo Editor (Had an FC while editing that went away after I set it bak to 160)
Probably some other system apps need to be changed but I have a lot of them frozen or uninstalled.
Update: Using Xposed App Settings, set System UI to 134 DPI and reboot, to make your notification shade (popup) look like it should...
...again! (notice the filled bar for screen brightness, "indicator lights" under power control toggles)
Update: Check this post to see how to get back ALL the filled slider bars!(ie: volume popup indicator)
The only graphical irregularities I see are the mini apps dock being funny looking/cut in landscape and small mini app launcher arrow. (*if you use the filled slider fixes here)
Check out my 170 Dpi TouchWiz! I think it fills the screen nicely at this scale.
Get the Split or Floating keyboard from the Tab2 10.1! Check this post!
Update: Now that you have Xposed Framework running on your device there are other modules besides Xposed App Settings that you have at your disposal. Check them out right here. I am currently using the Alternate App Picker from here. It replaces the popup that asks about default apps which in JB requires you to tap "Just Once" every time with the one from ICS that just has the "Default" tick box! Install any modules like with Xposed App Settings, ie: Install apk, then enable it in Xposed Framework Installer and reboot. :highfive:
Edit: Changed the recommended dpi setting for build.prop from 130 to 133. This is the highest you can set it and keep the tablet ui and,to me, it just seems like everything looks good at this setpoint. Updated Screens with 133 dpi.
I did this and now Touchwiz now force closes, I have the 3113. Any suggestions?

The same thing happened to me the first time I booted but I had not set the DPI for TouchWiz to 160 with Xposed App Settings. Make sure that you set the DPI value to 160 for touchwiz (once you have another launcher temporarily installed) then wipe cache/data for TouchWiz, reboot and then activate Touchwiz again.

I guess I didn't look to see if the setting was there before the dpi change. But it was definitely there after I had the tablet UI running. Do you have the extra (4th) button on the nav bar all the time? I don't know what to tell you if the screenshot button is there but not the option to set it. You could maybe try to set the dpi of the Settings apk to 160dpi with Xposed App Settings, reboot and see if it shows up then.
Edit: The option is not there until you have tablet ui active.
Clearing the data from touchwiz worked, thanks!

Hi,
I have 3100 on stock 4.1.1 but I could not install the zip file in step 1 using CWM. 1st the sig verification failed and after that warning the installation aborted. Disabled the sig verification as well but the installation aborts as soon as it starts. :crying::crying::crying:
Any help would be much appreciated. :good:
Got it working by installing the APK attachment from original thread. Thanks a ton.
Can you please help me with the dpi settings for the phone app please. As I made the settings for phone to be 160 dpi but it still shows a bit compressed.

I am glad that you got it working! :good: Unfortunately My device does not have calling/wireless so I do not have a visible phone app to expiriment on. Possibly setting the dpi to 160 and set the screen resolution (with the drop down list next to dpi in Xposed App Settings) to 600x1024? Sorry but other than that I think you will just have to expiriment yourself. Good luck :fingers-crossed:.
PS Good to know that this will work on devices other than p3113. Thanks for diving in and trying it out!
The Xposed Framework is a very powerfull mod with add on modules available allowing you to control many facets of your device. Check out the updated first post to learn more, including how to get the ICS style default app picker screen and never tap "Just Once" again!!
Updated screen shots to reflect 133 screen density.
[How To][P31XX] Tablet UI on Stock JB rooted

Thx!

Fixed transparent line in Popup Task Manager!
Just use Xposed App Settings to set MiniTaskcloserService DPI=160.
Updated first post/screenshots.
P.S. I have been running Music Player at 120dpi and I really like the look! Bigger album art in now playing window! Lookin' good.

Got this going on the gtab2, pretty sic

I hadn't noticed before but you are right; the volume indicator popup doesn't have the filled bar like it should! I will look into this... but don't hold your breath because I bet that is part of systemui...:fingers-crossed:
Good job thanks

So... I can get the volume bar to light up by increasing the dpi of Android System... but doing this breaks System UI so you have no buttons or notification area. Sorry, I don't see a fix coming for that.
See down a couple posts!
But! You can get the filled slider back for screen brightness in the notification shade by setting System UI to 134 dpi with xposed app settings! going to add this to first post
I like TouchWiz. But it always bothered me how much of the screen it wasted, left completely blank except for wallpaper.
Well I decided to take that space back! (Some of it anyway!!) :silly:
Say Hello to TouchWiz @ 170 DPI:
If you want this then use the method in the first post to set TouchWiz Home to DPI: 170 with Xposed App Settings. Preempt Touchwiz's FC by using the link to settings for TouchWiz in the top corner of Xposed App Settings to clear data and Force Stop TouchWiz Home. (after saving your changes in Xposed of course)
Also, if you update Xposed Installer and Xposed App Settings you can set the font scale on a per app basis! In the pictures above TouchWiz is set to 120%.
Anyone Feel Like Sliders??
Scratch that last about not being able to get this
back!
To get back your volume pop filled slider you must do this:
1. Using newest version (0.2 now) of Xposed Application Settings; Set System UI to 134 DPI and set Screen (dp,px): to 800x1280 and Save. (you can tick xlarge res also, not sure if it makes a dif. and not necessary)
2. Use Xposed A.S. to set Android System to 134 DPI and Save. (xlarge res optional again)
3. Reboot. (With the option to wipe cache/dalvik)
Just be prepared for the regular TouchWiz nonsense, but I think I avoided it!
Now the "cost" of this change is that the Mini App Laucher Dock ends up looking like this in landscape:
Weird spacing and shifted right and cut of 3/4's of the way across the screen.
Plus the Mini App Launcher arrow that resides on the nav bar shrinks
I actually see this as a positive though!
Also as a result of setting System UI to 800x1280 you will get the following improved appearances (in addition to the vol slider):
Improved Portrait Mini App Launcher appearance;
and Improved Notification Shade appearance (larger text/better icons);
Now, for my next trick... Every Other Filled Slider I could find!
There are a couple in Settings. First Settings/Sound/Volume:
and Second, Settings/Display/Brightness:
To get these back you need to use Xposed A.S. to set Settings DPI to 134, Save and reboot(/kill settings)!*
And, Last but definitely not least Task Manager has a filled slider in the RAM manager tab:
(and 2 other ones in the Storage tab, not pictured, that this fixes too!)
To see these bars again use our best friend Xposed App Settings to set Task manager to 134 DPI and Save. Done.*
*As a side note you could set Settings and/or Task manager anywhere from 134 to 160 DPI, if you prefer the larger "stock" appearance, and still have the filled slider bar.
Enjoy! :victory:

4.3 should have this new feature called app ops? Can't find it in the settings. Also reporting that both back amd front camera work, but theres some issue with the hdr option. Enabling hdr caused camera to not connect, worked after reboot.

App ops is different than privacy guard.
Edit: I mean these settings:
www.androidpolice.com/2013/07/25/ap...ager-control-permissions-for-individual-apps/
Had them on my zte blade 3 4.3rom, it was nice to be able to disable certain app behaviors.

Hi. I think cm10.2 should have the display settings from cm10.1.3 such as screen temperature and mode etc that 2 really nice. And please add a hot - plugging feature to the kernel, saves loads of battery!

Hi,
yeah i agree, the only thing missing for me is the screen calibration feature! would be awesome if you could include that arco!
Thanks
// just an addition. i am half way through the day and i had to observe some massive battery drain issues. usually by this time i would have 75% battery left, but since cm10.2 its already down to 52%. better battery stats doesnt give me much, seems like the rom is just.. consuming a lot more energy.
i'll monitor the stats further but i wanted to ask, does anybody else face this problem?

No battery drain and no other problems with cm10.2
The IR also works very well.
So far, so good..
Well done Sir Arco!! THX
Reporting that FM radio also works with Spirit FM
Headphones must be plugged in as it functions as an antenna.
Settings in Spirit FM:
BAND - World 200khz (This might not be the same for you)
AUDIO - METHOD MODE (DigitalXL/ONE/S)
UI - RDS: (ON)
AF - AF MODE: RDS+Region
DEBUG - FM CHIP: (QC V4L HTC) & Motorola FW Load: (HCI)
The rest is default.
Not sure whether it's supposed to be so but tiles/toggles in notification drawer are not perfectly aligned as it used be in CM 10.1.X, so if you decide to have 6 toggles/tiles you end up seeing 5 full toggles/tiles and one half of the sixth one
Attached please find examples of 6 and 5 toggles - in both situation it does not look good.

I find this very annoying too, but I think it's a general cm10.2 "problem". I would want it to scale up or down to fit either 5 or 6 toggles, not 5.5.

I think you're supposed to swype on it, like you do on Samsung stock rom.
Hi,
Concerning battery drain, a reboot and optimizing the apps seems to have fixed the problem!
Back to awesome battery life
Just the screen calibration missing now.
Thanks

Yes of course but in cm10.1 with the older icons they align perfectly as 6 toggles showing fully, but in cm10.2 with the new icons they don't align right, as shown in the screenshots.
With older icons:
- So if you set it to 5, you see 5...
- Set it to 6+, it shows 5.5 which also indicates to the user that they can swype to find more toggles?
- If you set it to 6+ and it only showed 5, you wouldn't know you could swype to find the extra toggles so therefore, the user may think that it just doesn't work.
- Scaling would look horrible imo, imagine if you had 10? all scaled to fit across the screen?
I think it's fine the way it is?

Wrong. You see 5 and an empty space for the 0,5 toggle which is not there (see print screen), since you have chosen to have 5 toggles. Your arguments do not hold ground since the user knows how many toggles he/she has enabled and leaving half toggle at the end of 5 toggles just looks incomplete no matter what follows .
Lets say that if someone with your reasoning would apply this same toggle layout to how photo gallery layout looks, it would mean that when viewing a picture in full screen we would see one full picture and half of the next picture .
The point I am making is that notification toggles should have option to have certain amount of toggles whose layout is perfect with no stretching, no half-ass toggles and so on. I don't need 10 toggles to be squeezed into one line, I am fine with 5, but please let it be aligned :fingers-crossed:.
Error on change user info.
When I try to change and click on picture to change, it open and close.

So you removed some tiles for your screenshots? By default, I get the attached standard tile layout.
Fair enough though.... Hope they sort it out for you...
I like it left aligned as it shows there is more toggles to the right. Whether 5, 5.5 or 6, you still have to swype to get to the 6th+ tile.
Anyway, good luck!

Please give us a review when you can mate !
So i tested it. It Seems to be based on CM11s, because it has seems to have all its features (hardware/softwarebuttons toggle, the phone setup screen, theme engine with hexo theme, double tap to wake etc.)
Everything is translated except 4 (5 with keyboard) new apps (propably because its just themed cm11)
It comes pre-rooted with super user in settings.
The theme chooser isnt accessible normaly but i got a notification from a theme update which linked to the theme chooser
Features:
- nice design
- toggleable app drawer (standard disabled so you have only homescreens like in miui but shortcuts are removable and then not accessible with disabled drawer)
- All pop-ups appear on the bottom of the screen
- Changed about phone screen
- Shades app (really just like the Brightness toggle in quick settings)
- File manager with ftp and root support (but i couldnt get do /data)
- pre installed terminal emulator
- Now Browser as standard browser
There are 5 new Apps:
- Some sort of Hub app. I couldnt figure out what it does
- iFlytek Input ( a keyboard, its pretty crappy if you ask me)
- App China (probably the app store because there are no gapps)
- A music player (auto album cover download and theme support, changable accent color)
Screenshots:
http://imgur.com/a/aJb5F
Here are /system/app and /system/priv-app dump. Interesting are probably the launcher, the theme and the shades app
Dev-Host (attachment wasnt working)
In conclusion this is pretty much just a pre-themed cm11s with some small nice additions and disabled theme manager
Also been running this and have switched back to IUNI as I'm experiencing some bugs which make fundamental operation a problem and frustration.
No doubt they'll be fixed over time but right now, for me, this is not ready as a daily driver. Not close.
1. Some text is not visible. That is, it's near white on a white background. Theme needs some ATD.
2. As above when setting a pattern lock, there's no way to what you're set pattern is - it's a stab in the dark (white on white again). Found this out when setting up a VPN which requires a pass code or pattern, which leads me to....
3. VPN was not working. No problems on other ROMs or devices so I know the provider is OK. Maybe a CM issue.
4. Rotation lock is messed up. Lock it and it only works in some apps. File manager ignores it and goes into landscape mode which the makes the launcher go landscape too but then doesn't rotate back even if you disable rotation lock and the phone itself. To fix it, I have to go into something that obeys rotation lock (settings) and back out again. Or sleep/wake. Very tedious.
5. AppChina (?) FCs on boot. Easy to delete with RE I suppose but odd on first clean boot.
This was after only a few hours but: a) I need a VPN; b) I was tired with the messed up orientation issues.
Maybe give it another try in a month or two after a bit more polish.

Hi All,
A Beta Version of EMUI8.0 has been pushed via OTA for those who applied through Google form and FUT tool.
Please kindly post all your feedback and suggestions here in this thread. :fingers-crossed:
You can also share your feedback by joining project through Beta app.
Here is the beta tool instruction: https://club.hihonor.com/in/announcements.205/beta-tool-instruction.133939
Thank you all for your support and your patience as always. Please make sure to know that the beta software is sometimes not as stable as our official one is. If you install the update, you accept the potential risks and rules.
We may not be able to respond to you every moment, but please keep in mind that we hear your problems and take note for your future needs seriously.
Feel free to discuss the EMUI 8.0 with other 7x users in our discord channel here.
The Beta is great! I haven't faced any significant issue yet, the system is smooth and the new theme is nice too. I also appreciated the fact that the system now takes 4gbs less space. The only issue I'm facing is a slight decrease in battery performance, but I'm pretty certain it can be solved with a full wipe.
I have had this beta for a week now and I have had zero issues.

It won't change anything, but I really am tired of reading this statement phrased this way:
--> A Beta Version of EMUI8.0 has been pushed via OTA for those who applied through Google form and FUT tool.
I applied through the Google form, as did others, who are NOT GETTING IT, so to state it this way is just flat out misrepresenting what they are actually doing. I tried reaching out, can not get added in, they say they had limited spots, and yet they keep touting it publicly as though they let in anyone who applied. I don't like it when facts are so badly misrepresented.
The beta seems good but there are some bugs :
Widget meteo on nova caused system crash
Notification media button is some time bugged on lock screen
Possible to get a toggle to sync notifications like gmail etc?
Review after using EMUI 8.0 beta for 9 days
No major issues or force closes till now .
It's a more stable build than the face unlock update which totally messed up my device .That update is one of the reason for me to enroll for beta. Now I'm really happy that I did it
Only thing I felt is that battery performance got reduced a lot compared to the EMUI 5.1.( Some say a hard reset will fix that but I don't wanna do that till a stable build )
Another feature I feel lacking is option to allow apps to run even after screen lock .I need apps like PushBullet to work in background after the Screenlock but I couldn't do that in EMUI 8.0.I can't find the Volte for idea which was introduced along with face lock update.
The features of EMUI 8.0 I like most are
App Shortcuts
New Launcher
Google feed instead of Hiboard
Immersivemode ( Option to hide navigation bar)
Autofill,
New Messages Apps
New LinkedIn Sync In Contacts App
Settings,
New Lock Screen Theme Engine ,
Ride Mode
New Navigation Dock looks really Cool
.
Stock Oreo Vs EMUI 8.0 Oreo
EMUI 8.0 doesn't change much from EMUI 5.1 in terms of UI.It's almost same except for the settings app but I'm okay with that as the system smoothness and performance increased in a great deal.A few differences between stock and emui Oreo are
Unlike the stock Android the quick settings background didn't change( though we have the freedom to change it whatever color we like in EMUI)
Number of quick settings in single coloumn didn't reduce ( I actually like that they didn't change)
No new Dailer App( I expected one and disappointed about this )
Bugs I encountered :
I only had a soft reset once, when I tried to play a x265 1080p video of size 11GB in Plex App which I assumed a bit heavy for decoding and reported it .Otherthan that no issues
Overall If you ask me, EMUI 8.0 is awesome there is no reason to still call it a beta build.Even stable builds will have small bugs like this beta build
I don't think I have some of the features Trixter has listed.
Sent from my BND-L24 using XDA Labs
I really liked when the battery icon at the top in the notification bar turned green when charging like in previous Android versions. I also really like the lightning icon that shows up inside the battery icon when charging when the percentage is next to the battery. I suggest combining the two. Have the battery icon turn green like before and have the lightning icon when charging.
In the short amount of time I've had emui 8, this is all all I could find for now.
Phone is running really smooth. I would like to see the location option for smart unlock. Currently only Bluetooth but that is not a beta thing.
Overall, no issues on my end and phone is running much better.
Just switched themes which changed the font, can't seem to get font to change now since getting the beta.
Sent from my BND-L24 using XDA Labs
Nevermind, I'm an idiot.
Phone seems smoother, better performance navigating around. The swipe left and right problem seems to be solved.
In the Files app, Safe will not accept my fingerprint, password, or password reset answers to secret questions. So I can't access my Safe. Any suggestions?
Bug caught in an hour.
Its been running great actually after a full wipe. Faster than before, the face recognition is better, the voice recognition is faster.
One bug that I found with the pre-installed Swiftkey was when you're glide-typing(or swipe writing, idk), these trails which should appear on the keyboard, don't show up there if the navigation bar is hidden. They show up way above the keyboard in the writing area.
Since this is my first post, I was not allowed to attach a link or an image.
This is the only bug I was able to find as it was today that I received the beta. Otherwise, everything else is great on this update.
Bluetooth in the car is only displaying the name of my phone...not the artist, song, and album. Skip track buttons on car's steering wheel won't skip songs. This happens both in Pocket Casts and Emby Android apps. Before the beta, Bluetooth audio displayed and controlled fine.

Files > Safe still doesn't work even after a wipe and fresh install. Can't even set up Safe. Keeps asking to create a password and choose new secret questions/answers. Upon entering, just continues this loop. Does anyone's Safe work after the beta?
Still Haven't Received The Beta Update
I still have not received the update. I signed up on the Google Form and got an email saying that the update was to be rolled out soon (this was around March 15th). I have contacted the Honor USA Twitter and Facebook pages (and got no helpful reply). I also emailed Honor Support and I'm awaiting another reply, but they initially told me to just wait. What is going on with this??
Beta Is Great, With Some Minor Faults
This is going to sound like I really hate the update but it is good and very very stable even for a Beta.
Good:
1. I had an issue with 5.1 were my Accessibility settings would randomly disable themselves for no explicable reason making my password manager useless, It's fixed which is nice!
2. ROM size has shrunk making for space for other stuff
3. The new default blue/teal is IMO better than the old blue
4. Floating dock is nice(not sure if it was available in 5.1 but a nice feature non the less)
Now for the bad which is a little longer of a list
Bad:
1. YouTube casting now randomly disconnects from my chromecast even after I allowed youtube full access to run in the background
2. The "Simplified" settings menu is a lie and things feel more jumbled now than ever, like mobile data and mobile network still being different menus
3. Not sure why but my banking app took forever(5+ minutes) to load the first time after the update
4. Only one app crashed and that was IFunny twice
5. My VPN randomly disconnected multiple times
6. Only battery saver option in QS is ultra mode
7. The battery icon still cannot be completely remove(to use apps like Energy Bar)
8. Floating dock doesn't always go home the first long press
9. Some games I play have rendering issues
10. Notification UI and QS UI don't merge nicely(they just kind of cut off into each other)
11. Bluetooth would randomly disconnect when the screen powered off and require a reconnect of the device to work
12. This is a general UI complaint, why the hell are some options only available the phone manager app. It took me 20 minutes to find where the blacklist for phone numbers was. It honestly makes no sense why "Blocked" is in phone manager. Why not in the mobile data or mobile network settings tab or even in the dialer app. IMO all of the UI improvements of Oreo are lost in this update, most of EMUI is exactly the same. This feels more like Android 8 with EMUI 5.2 over it.
Like I said I really enjoyed using the update and some things were genuinely better but it's a made lackluster by the EMUI on top of it.
I have to hand it to Huawei/Honor for getting Treble working, I'm jumping ship to RR-OS right after I'm finished this post!:good:
I live i Italy and have the BND-L21, received Oreo, AR Lenses but not Face Unlock.
I know this is not place for Honor 8 lite
But want to say that in oreo
My internal storage bacomes full with nothing
I have also did factory reset but not working
I think this is because of oreo
