Stock kernel will always be enforcing my friend.
Only custom kernel can be permissive/ disabled.
Sent from N9005 NC2 ROM.

yes but you cant use a stock non modified kernel with just permissive set, its out for 4.3 just 4.4.2....

[flashable zips] S2W & DT2W - enable / disable

With how much I change / update my ROM and kernel, I wanted a fast and easy way to just flash something to enable DoubleTap2Wake and Sweep2wake because I use both a lot.
I didn't want to have to download or pay for any 3rd party apps that stay open all the time, or only work half the time, and got tired of manually putting the init.d files and changing permissions every time I flash something, so I made some flashable zips (with a little help from XDA members efrant, Moscow Desire, Jonny, and GermainZ).
Figured I'd share, not sure if there's interest; but just in case you're like me and like these mods... Just make sure you have a kernel that supports these mods. I've been using bricked kernel for a while now with zero issues.
Flash the one you want, I included the uninstaller for all. If you flashed both DT2W and S2W and just want one of them, flash the one you want, it will remove the other one.
This eliminates the need to install any app or anything to enable these mods.
Use a kernel you find that specifically states it supports S2W and DT2W.
Thanks for this. Great idea

I've only tested it using bricked kernel, but it should work on any of them that use the same enabling commands. Can you link me to the kernel thread you're talking about?

I use the betas, maybe it's not fully integrated in the "stable" ones, but have never had a single issue with the beta kernels.
Try this one, performs like a boss for me and 100% supports these mods
http://bricked.de/downloads/kernel/hammerhead/exp/bricked_hammerhead_20131206_183835_exp-516a802.zip
flash the kernel, flash the zip file from the OP you want, and let me know what happens

The only way of using DT2W is to flash a custom kernel or roms, so unless there is some other cheaty way of doing it, I can't help you.

Can't you just flash a custom kernel tho? I'ts pretty easy. I am running Android 5.0.1 with Sabermod franco.Kernel and Xposed, works perfectly. This kernel has DT2W so yeah .

I installed Frank with 5.1 so I wanted to only add dt2w functionality. [emoji23] And find a way not to have to change kernels because I feel that that ROMs usually give their best with their original kernel [emoji6]
It's maybe just a placebo effect

You don't need a permissive kernel anymore. Dr ketan has made a mod for viper to work on non permissive kernel in the theme/apps forum

Hmm I haven't used it myself maybe better to ask in his thread. The only way to make a Sammy kernel permissive is to compile from source as selinux changer doesn't work. I always use a custom kernel myself

Use the latest squid kernel. Im using the r14b version. It works without any issue. Try doing a hard restart and then if that didn't work, reset if you are in a bootloop.

Squids kernel does work on stock 6.0. 14b I believe. Did u take a backup? If not, reflash stock rom with fastboot because I don't think anyone's made a flashable zip with stock kernel yet. Personally, I'm waiting for moto to publish the 6.0 source before trying a custom kernel. Squids and all kernels that exist for our device on 6.0 are based on squids moto g port afaik.
Edit: another user has posted this in squids thread. Here's the post..ymmv:
Check here: https://github.com/motoxplay/stock there is a stock kernel zip floating around here, but i dont know where exactly
Also, u might've just had a bad DL. U could DL squid again verify the md5 before flashing
