Sup!
The problem is, that after i install ROMs via NAND+ext i cannot simply use it, because after rebooting it shows htc logo and then screen goes black.
I used only NAND roms before, because my sd card always failed to create an EXT partition on it.
But idk why, few days ago i noticed that while wiping, it didn't skip EXT partition like always, so i created one via TWRP recovery and tried to install some roms on ext.
I've done several full-wipes etc, but always it succeeds with installation, and then it goes black screen on rebooting.
What can be the problem? I thought it might be boot.img-related, but same thing occurs in 2nd rom i try to install.
I don't want to go back to old NAND rom, so if you guys could help me out, i would be really happy.
I spent several hours looking for a solution, but no positive results..
Also, i had a problem in trying to reanimate my phone via Fastboot/ADB; simply because i don't know how to proceed from bootloader to fastboot to get my phone connected with pc commands...
I tried to flash this and that ROMs.
Regards!
you could try;
changing recovery (eg 4ext), i always seem to have trouble with twrp flashing sboot, 4ext works ok
increase sboot or boot size
format ext4 with 4ext recovery
not used fastboot much, there is a tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277112
hope this helps
if not post your setup, partition sizes etc.
Thanks for reply Robbie!
Firstly, i cannot find 4EXT recovery to flash it straight from PC :/ Any other recommended recovery's?
Secondly, not sure if i understand sboot and boot resizing correctly.
Also, when i flash TWRP for example, in config file when i change system ya[/B ] to 280mb is it enough? I mean, when i change size via HD2Toolkit, it automatically applies CWM...
http://goo.im/devs/Xylograph/Various/Recoveries/NAND
flash it using existing recovery
in later versions of clk you can easily resize your partitions, sometimes increasing boot partition may solve booting problems.
eg black lk from here http://www.mediafire.com/download/n0aa6qv88t3n1sv/black_lk_20130506-Ex-TWRP_2_5_0_5.zip
extract it, browse to leoimg.nbh using hd2 toolkit "install custom NBH/NB RUU" and install.
Then flash 4ext using the included recovery.
Profit?

Never thought of going to CLK though
Okay, i have clk now.
So i need to put 4ext zip into SD card throught TWRP usb plugging, and then install it straight from twrp?
Update!
I flashed 4EXT, althought i had strange code message after flashing it:
Code:
Writing recovery partition...
All done.
Updating partition details...
E:Failed to mount '/system' (MTD)
Partition details updated
Anyway, it seems to load w/o problems
Whats my point... i noticed, that i have ext2 partition on my phone, not ext4.
Can it cause black screen problem?
What to do now?
(So many questions..)
~EDIT~
i used built-in partitioning to get EXT4 partition, then installed tytung's rom again, ofc succeed etc.
But after reboot i see htc logo for 1 sec, then black screen ... sigh

so, what are your partition sizes, nand and sdcard?
remember, if using nand with data on ext, you can afford a huge 350mb system partition or more since your data (apps and stuff) is on your ext4 sdcard partition.
Please provide details

so far it went past htc logo, but it keeps showin me SLIMbean animation
humm..
~EDIT~
i went to setup wizard, but it kept crashing. I forgot to flash gapps as in thread...sigh.
wiped system partition, flashed gapps, and now booting.
Hopefully it will get to work now!
edit2:
htc logo for about 5 minutes already
EDIT3:
i fully wiped phone, reflashed rom and gapps, it booted (waited like 15min though), but i have some strange problems with going through setup wizard again.
Mainly it stops working after few minutes, and it launches again and again. Sometimes i make till wifi/gmail sync, but for example it keeps obtaining wifi for like minute, in meanwhile Calendar Memore stops working... then it freezes, stops working, and from beginning...Once i made it through Google GPS localization.
The ****...?
Okay, after wipe and reflash, i faced same situation, but not sure why, Setup Wizard after 10 minutes of struggling allowed me to finish setup :highfive:
I still received "Calendar Storage has stopped working" every 10 seconds, so i cleared cashe of it in settings, seems to be solved.
Now, the only issues i face are:
- my phone shows me no internal storage at all...
In settings > apps, Internal storage bar is all grey without any numbers, also i cannot even update Nova Launcher because of insufficient space.
It would be quite sad to have my phone finally working, but with no storage to install basic apps like facebook, etc
-as i want to reboot my phone, it popped Setup Wizard again... WHAT THE!
Please help me with these problems...!
EDIT:
i googled ''a bit'', and tried to copy busybox from /system/xbin to /system/bin, but i see no positive results..
Problem has changed.
Another update, but now quite positive.
After reflashing Slimrom and tytung's one over n over, i tried to flash tytung's 4.2.2, well, it succeeded.
Now i have 1,2gb of internal free memory, and it all seem to work flawlessly.
No idea why previous 2 roms didnt work 100%'ly :/
I think i won't do anything now, i am happy to have 4.2.2 features now, after 1 years of being stuck with 4.1.2
Anyways, big thanks for you Robbie. You are my life-saver once again!!!
Have a good night y'all, yawn
###EDIT###
Rom runs smoothly, i have 1,2Gb of internal memory, but my Google Play tells me "No connection. Retry" everytime i open it
Which means i canno't update/download anything.
Tried clearing cache, data, force stop, reboots, still no profits >.< im not into factory reset again though..
_____ EDIT _____
After wake up, around 1 hour of previous usage, i had black screen... rebooted -> Setup Wizard (although no errors or fCloses, only again no internal memory )

it sounds like your ext4 partition (/data) is not being recognised.
Since you have to reflash, try deleting all partitions and format whole card with official formatter, then set up your ext4 partition again, use recovery to format it.
Try install again.
What is your sd card make, and class?

about sd card? umm, i think it's SanDisk, but what class... i don't remember.
UPDATE.
I hope that system will survive the night without problems..
Everything runs quite good, i have problems with syncing contacts, but i think i will bypass it.
I connected to Google Play, i have 1,2 Gb of internal memory, so this is positive.
One problem is that when i try to install apps from GPlay, blue bar keeps running infinitely... like something blocks apps from installing.
Gonna try uninstalling GPlay updates, maybe it will help..
Will update again tomorrow!
UPDATE.
Nope.
Again, after about an hour, system started cutting me off more and more processes, so i rebooted, and then i had infinite Cyanogenmod boot animation...
I think im gonna try freaking 4.1.2 with DoE or Nand...
This sd card makes me wanna break this phone into puzzles
PACman 1.2 doesnt work with Ext , but on NAND i have only 197mb of free internal storage after fresh install I wish i could increase this

Hi folks,
I hope somebody can help me out here.
I want to create the ext4.
I tried whole evening and read so much. Getting desprate
I tried:
- In Minitool: ext4. Does not work, every time I boot (I have K7-OC with G3mod kernel ) my phone is in a bootloop?
- via USB connection and minitool: I get &é"'é"'("("§" signs and both partitions are damaged.
- EASUS 9 is not capable of ext4 for now.
- Formatting in (G3mod) clockwork, it creates an ext3, wich is not enough
I tried the Fugumod kernel for formatting, but this one hanged every time.
It's quite crazy because I managed to create the ext4 by formating in G3mod CWM and format to ext4 in minitool. Suddenly I could see it in Titanium:

But stupid me, I forgot to remove the SD card when reflashing the K7 rom, and the partition was damaged. (is this a bug). But now at least I know this is why my phone was blocking everytime, because of a damaged ext partition.
So, can anybody give me advice or tell me how to get finaly a ext4???

Remove app2sd script from /system/etc/init.d folder.. Then use data2sd ..

Thx for your quick reply.
Some Q:
- How is that different?
- Where to download? (installin in the init.d ?)
- Make partitions? How? ext4?
- Will it solve the fact that the ext4 partition locks the phone at startup (not everytime it seems)
Do you know link2SD app? I think this could be a solution? Since the app2sd only copies the data, not Dalvisk?

thx mate,
- I think I go for link2SD, it's to complicated for me to check that all out.
- To be clear: I have ext4 now in minitool, and it stays there. When taking the SD card out and into the cardreader. Only thing is, my phone keeps rebooting for ever with the SD in the phone.
- I read that a swap slows your phone? I only have a class 4 card.
- What app do you mean for g3mod kernel?

Wonderful to get so much help here!
I just have it flashed
For now I use the combination of Link2SD and a2sd. (with fat32)
This works good for now. I have 50Mb free.
I will partition later if I get probs this way, because I installed all programs again (must be the 20th time I do this, last weeks, due to crashes and experimenting)
Let's keep the fingers crossed ;-)

So, at least with Kyrillos 6.x I had successfully made my partitions, used them.
Then I just flashed Kyrillos7.0 following the instructions included, now I have full working ext2 and ext3 partitions.
That should work for you guys too, if not maybe the problem is not the phone, nor the ROM, nor the kernel...

p/s: Using 16GB Kingmax class 10 microSDHC for internal and external sd
Now you guys are curious how i managed to do that?
FIRST OF ALL:
You need to open the streak housing ... follow the link below and good luck.. be gentle and be careful .. just do it slow and steady and you will be ok ... no need to rush anything there ... :good:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Dell-Streak-Teardown/3512/1
------------------------------------------------------
NEXT - SELECT APPROPRIATE USER TYPE:-
LINUX USERS:
Just follow this link > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24799755&postcount=65
WINDOWS USERS:
first.. get this... http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/
make sure it is USB Image Tool 1.59 when you download...
next get gparted-live-0.13.1-2.iso
burn it to the CD...
- after you have extracted the usb image tool... open USB Image Tool.exe
- select the corresponding usb drive and click backup, save it something like streakinternal.img
- it will take some time to complete ( have instant noodle for the time being )
- once done... replace the sd card that you want to transfer the image to and click restore and select the earlier streakinternal.img
- again.. it will take some time to complete (you can have snack this time )
note: make sure the target sdcard is the same or bigger in size (obviously)...
- once completed...
- reboot your pc and insert the burned CD earlier... let it boot from it... just press enter to everything it ask until it fully loaded into linux environment
- gparted should already show your sdcard drive there... it should show /dev/sda1 and below it got two more partition /dev/sda5 (ext3) and /dev/sda6 (ext3)
- select /dev/sda1 and right click it and select move/resize
- there should be visual displaying the drive structure and on the right, there should be arrow, drag it to the most right, click ok
- now, select /dev/sda6 and right click it and select move/resize
- again, on it, there should be arrow on the right, drag it to the most right and click ok
- once all that done, click apply and it will start to do its work..
- let it completes it work and your sd card now should be able to be use as internal sd...
- your streak should be able to boot straight away.. no need to wipe cache or something like that...
- have fun having big internal sd
p/s: i wrote this based on my memory, i hope i dont messed it up

POSSIBLE FAQ:
-- 01 --
Q - Will the method used gone if i do factory reset?
A - Nope. You can safely do it and the structure will be maintained.
-- 02 --
Q - Can i use more than 16gb card?
A - Theoretically, yes.
-- 03 --
Q - Can we use this as sd storage as well?
A - Sorry. We cant because it is formated in ext3, so windows see it as unformatted medium.
-- 04 --
Q - Cant we create shortcut in external sd to access it?
A - Sorry. We cant because symlink does not work on any windows formatted medium since external sd usually formatted in fat32
-- 05 --
Q - Cant we mount this at all?
A - Somebody has tried it before but since the internal sd never meant to be accessed externally, the support is pretty much impossible.
-- 06 --
Q - How can we access it and where is it located?
A - To access the space, you can use root explorer and wifi file explorer (anything similar will do) and it is located at /data from /
Therefore, you must be rooted to access it.
-- 07 --
Q - So, what the hell am i supposed to do with those huge extra GBs?
A - Well, you can brag bout it to your friends, saying it got this huge internal sd space and can install hundreds of applications or games and still got space left for more.
------------------------------------------------------
MORE ADVANCED MODS.:
If you think having large innerSD is not enough, we could have larger /system dir and possible dual usb mount support by default (in the near future hopefully) for our streak 5.

class for sd card means speed... so the higher the better..
Speed class determines it's actual read and write speed, FS is important as ext4 is the most efficient fs currently available.
It's supposed to be a good deal faster then yaffs2 and more efficient then ext3

i go on and make it ext4 both for cache and data for the internal sd.. boots up normally and yes... you can see something faster...
its a shame that the CWM 6 not supported ext4 and therefore nandroid backup is impossible for now...
i also tried and make both internal and external sd not in the slot... and see if streak manages to boot up or not.. well... it stuck at dell logo.. lol
so internal sd is a must so that phone can boot due to the needs of use cache and data dir...
I can easily make a build that supports it, it's just that the rom must also support it.
The rom could likely be modified to mount /firstboot as /data, but there's not enough partitions to also have /cache on the nand.

i see...
well i am using longhorn 2.9.3...
CWM 6 cant read ext4 because how the script work? i really thought it could since it is newer and i know streakmod had issues with ext4...
but when i am thinking back.. it seems it have same baseworks...
It's turned off on the normal S5 build as ext4 requires additional modules, as it normally doesnt use ext4 I simply built it with them off.
I dont recall of CWM 1.8/2.5 (which streakmod is based off of) even supports ext4, the earliest one I can confirm it does is 4.0 as that was the 1st version built against the stock GB recovery. GB was the 1st rom that uses ext4 by default (on devices that launched with GB or newer)

Can we have a third partition on the inner sdcard??? To use as external storage. If so can you help/guide how to!
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
I havnt actually tried it (but I plan to some day in the future): just manually make the partitions and add an extra one onto the end for /system.
At that point: unless you follow a standardized layout, you're going to need to manually build CWM as CWM needs to know ahead of time the layout and size of the partitions it's going to deal with. If it doesnt it could lead to corrupt filesystems on flashes/nandroids.
If I ever do build it, it'll either be for a 8 or 16 gb card with a defined set of partitions.
You'll also need to modify the rom to actually boot from innerSDx too.

although i really welcome additional 3rd partition.. dont it have issues with mounting? because how streak works and meant to be, it never have one such as sd-ext ... i mean... some have tried to make it appear on windows but failed miserably.. and thus gave up on it.. and since the fs is ext type, we do need to install driver for it such as Ext2Fsd to make it able to read and write on windows... also.. for media file, it may not detect it unless we explicitly want the third partition to be used only for storage .... but if we can make it able to detect media.. that would be even better...
currently that work wonder is by using wifi file browser for now... for storing file inside /data
sd-ext is/was rather redundant as the S5 has a very large (for it's time) /data.
If anything you'd be better off making a large partition to mount as /sdcard and chainmount the real sdcard as /sdcard/sdcard2 or just /sdcard2 on ICS.
I have no idea how easy/hard all this is, I havnt tried any of it.
It really depends on if the kernal can detect additional partitions beyond innerSD0p6
I've bugged n0p about adding MTP into the ICS kernal so you can simply have a very large /data + /data/media, but he's not interested.
(though like it sounds, it only works on ICS or newer, it was introduced in HC 3.2, but we dont have a rom for that)

thats what i have been trying to do this past weeks.. making it /sdcard and chainmount the real sdcard as /sdcard/sdcard2 but to no avail... as it has no real solution to it...
mtp support is a huge leap since many says it has better file handling protocol but if its get added to ics that we have here.. wow.. that one is a huge plus for us.. :good:
have you edited your vold.fstab?
You need to edit that and change the mounts in your ramdisk at the minimum to do so
I've been experiencing the dreaded "Low Internal Memory" problems on my HD2 running a MIUI GB ROM.
I was told this was because the included A2SD, well, sucks. I was advised to use Data2EXT instead. Since I wanted to start with a clean slate anyway, I decided it was time to completely wipe my HD2 and install everything anew. This is what I did:
Wiped the HD2 with Task29 (using the HD2 Toolkit)
Installed ClockworkModRecovery v1.3 150MB (I wasn't sure I actually used the 150MB version when I initially installed CWM Recovery)
Cleared data/cache with CWM Recovery
Reformatted the 1GB sd-ext partition on my SD Card (using MiniTool Partition Wizard)
Installed ROM with CWM Recovery (from zip)
Installed A2SDKiller scripts (from zip)
Rebooted phone into MIUI, but did not install anything.
Rebooted into CWM Recovery and installed the Data2SD Installer.
Rebooted into MIUI again
It seemed everything was fine. If I looked at my memory usage, instead of only 210 MB of total storage I had previously, I now had almost 1GB. I setup my Google account and started to install some apps. Somewhere along the line one of the apps hung the phone so I rebooted it again.
But when it was done rebooting, much to my surprise all installed apps were gone. In fact, the phone was behaving like it was the first time it was started (asking me for my Google credentials again, etc). At first I thought this was perhaps due to the hung app, so I did all the above steps again (including wiping the phone).
Again I installed a few apps, and this time I rebooted the phone to check if all was OK now. It wasn't. Again the phone behaved like it was the first time I booted into the new ROM and all installed apps were gone. I've tried about 5 times now and every single time with the same results.
So what could be wrong here?
just a thought (i havent checked, you can do that) but what type of ext did you create? ext2? ext3? ext4? perhaps data2sd (you called it data2ext in the title, data2sd in the post, , ,which is it? they're probably different) doesnt play nice with whichever one you created?
Hi, and thank you for your answer.

I'm pretty sure they are the same (since took the installation procedure from this forum post and they call it both Data2Ext and Data2SD).
I will check to see if the filesystem matters. Thanks!
I just checked and ext3 should be fine.

Check to see see if there's any script left from old method in system/etc/init.d
This is a complete guess but worth a try
EDIT: this is the script that the A2SD killer removes from system/etc/init.d
delete("/system/etc/init.d/40a2sd");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/03stuff2sd");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/10apps2sd");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/04apps2sd");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/01data2whatever");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/98zipalign");
delete("/system/etc/init.d/02cachedalvikcache");
So make sure that has been removed then try flash the new zip file

Yes, all those files have been deleted.
It seems to be working now. I wanted to test if changing the Ext3 partition to Ext2 would make any difference so I fired up MiniTool Partition Wizard again. I wiped the partition and formatted it as Ext2.
Or so I thought.
The partition still said it was Ext3. Then it hit me. I had forgotten that you actually have to "Apply" the changes, which I hadn't done before. So I clicked Apply and it wiped the partition and actually formatted it as Ext2.
I then redid the whole thing (install ROM & A2SDKiller scripts, reboot into ROM, reboot into CWM Recovery and installed Data2SD). And now it seems to be working fine.
Not sure which of the two actions on the Ext partition caused it to start working: the wipe or the change to Ext2.
I spoke too soon. I thought it was working since a reset didn't clear all my installed apps. But if I look at the total storage space, it's back to 216MB total. So it looks like Data2Ext isn't running...
*SIGH*
I'm just about to give up on Data2Ext. First of all, I thought I had figured out what was wrong. For some odd reason, whenever I tried to write to my 16GB microSD card on my computer using an SD adapter, it would crash every now and then. Also, partitioning through MiniTool Partition Wizard often resulted in a "Bad Disk" error. I tried this with 3 different 16GB microSD cards. All experienced the same problems when using an SD card adapter (it wasn't a broken SD adapter because I've tried several).
I then dug up an old external microSD USB card reader I had laying around. Using that, I was able to write to the microSD cards just fine and I didn't experience any problems partitioning either.
Speaking about partitioning, it took me a while to figure out that:
Partitioning through ClockWorkMod Recovery doesn't work properly. The FAT32 partition becomes incredibly slow, and the Ext partition is not recognized by Data2Ext
Ext3/Ext4 partitions don't work with Data2Ext. At least, not on my phone
Ext2 partitions only work if they are set as the primary partition
You must name the partition sd-ext or it will not work
Just a FYI for anyone finding this thread in the future.
Anyway, once I figured that out, I was finally able to get Data2Ext working. Sort of. Let me try to explain.
Previously after I had installed Data2Ext and setup some apps, a reboot of my phone would bring it back to a factory reset state. So all installed apps were gone, just like any settings I had altered. Oddly enough, if I looked at the sd-ext partition I could see the data was still there. It simply wasn't used by the phone. But after I had partitioned the sd-ext partition as Ext2, all was fine. A reboot didn't reset the phone back to factory settings.
So I happily reinstalled all my apps, restored my SMS as well as my WhatsApp backup and thought all was fine now. But I did notice the phone wasn't very stable. Every now and then it would become unresponsive for 10-20 seconds. Sometimes I got an error message that a certain app had become unresponsive and I was offered a choice to either shutdown the app or to wait. And sometimes, the phone would spontaneously reset itself.
Today the phone again became unresponsive. Oddly enough, long-pressing the power button did bring up the shutdown window. So I tapped "Shutdown". Next, the phone hung on "Shutting Down". It didn't come back to live. So I removed the battery lid and pressed the reset button.
After it had rebooted, I was greeted with a factory reset phone again. I was about to throw the phone through the window! But when I did another reboot, all my apps were back again as well as my settings. Except for the settings of my individual widgets. Those had all disappeared for some reason. Also, I got quite a few error messages that some apps had stopped unexpectedly. I rebooted again and again the phone behaved as if it were factory reset. But yet another reboot brought everything back...
I now suspect it has something to do with the phone not being able to mount sd-ext every now and then. Either way, my problems aren't solved yet so any tips are much appreciated.

I have similiar problem before, The ext partition always failed. Now I used Extended TWRP to create the ext partition, it is stable now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120297
I can't get Data2Ext to work. I'm either getting tons of force close errors, or it's not seeing the sd-ext partition at all. I tried with Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 partitions (Ext3 didn't seem to work at all). With or without a swap partition. Nothing worked.
I also tried Data2ExtV2 and even DataOnExt. The result was always a ton of force close errors and a very unstable phone.
So anyone any ideas? It sucks only having 200MB of internal storage.
Hmmmm... That's odd. I just wiped my phone again (Task29), reinstalled MAGLDR, CWM Recovery (150MB) and my ROM without Data2Ext or anything and I'm getting the same force close errors and it's telling me I don't have enough internal storage to install apps.
So apparently there's something else going on with my phone?
What ROM are you using?
Try increasing system partition size!

Actually, I found out it was because I used the wrong cache size this last time. So it's not the cause of all the other problems, but most certainly the cause of the problems this last time I flashed the ROM.
Ok, I've given up on Data2Ext. I can't get it to work. No matter what I try it's incredibly unstable and slow - if it works at all.
1. Make a backup of your SDCard.
2. Download EXTRecovery here.
3. Unzip it and place the 4EXTRecovery folder in the root of your SDCard.
4. Start MAGLDR, choose option 10, then 1, then 3 and select the folder (4EXT~), then boot from SD in the MAGLDR main menu.
5. In the 4EXTRecovery go to Advanced -> Partition SD Card -> Remove all partitions and start from scratch.
6. 1st sd-ext partition: 1024MB, skip 2nd sd-ext partition, SWAP partition is OPTIONAL, I recommend 256MB.
7. Press Yes and pick: "EXT4".
8. When it's finished, choose: "Print partitiontable" to check if it's actually there.
9. If it's there, go back to the main menu and press: "Install from SDCard".
10. Locate your ROM and install it.
Goodluck.
EDIT: Oh, I just read you've given up on it.. all this work for nothing, lol.
Ohwell, maybe I'm lucky and someone else stumbles upon this and can use it.
EDIT 2: Use DataOnEXT and have a /system size of about 285MB, 300-350MB if you have Bad Blocks!
EDIT 3: Try it with: "Jellybean 4.1.2" by Tytung, definitely works!
i flashed NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1_V2.4 rom on HD2 using native SD method, everything worked and when it rebooted the logo kept on the start screen for some time atleast 30minute before i pulled out the battery,is that rom not working?then flashed same rom but V2.2 and this time it booted up in 10minute but its some what slow, which i read in the comments as well, which version of jellybean will be good to go then?
also i used a 2gb sd card,i kept half of it for sd storage n other half for apps as ext4 internal storage but when i checked storage it showed only 114mb free out of some 845mb,where is rest of the memory gone?there are not much default apps to take up all the space?
also whenever i try to install facebook app,it says not enough memory/storage but when i install other apps they work fine,i even tried downloading .apk offline, moved to sd and installed but same error, the other half as sd storage still has good 745mb free
if i need to install games or more apps, they will install on internal memory or on sd card, does this means i can not install big games?
also whenever i try to play HD movies, they stuck alot, maybe they'll work fine on some custom rom having 720p playback option?
i don't know much about flashing,so far i have only used nand flash using cwm and native sd for this
Thankyou for your time..
try full formatting the sd card and repartition it ... ( primary fat32 and primary ext4)
try flashing rom using nand method and immediately flash this patch after it ...
this method is very good and very fast ...
and the best rom of between newest roms is NexusHD2 CM10.1.2 v2.6
i think problem with NativeSD because of your memory ext partition

i did formatted it first then i used MiniTool Partition Wizard to make 2 primary partitions, one as fat n other as ext4 and then i flashed it using native sd from MAGLDR
for NAND flash i had been using CWM which has options of 150 250 n 400mb partitions, now if i want to use 2gb card, half for both like before,i'll use same application to make partition but then can you tell me how to flash this rom using nand?
i mean i know one way is CWM and other is that i can use usb flasher which i never used but for that i need to execute DAF but whenever i unzip a rom,i dont see any DAF file,n also how to flash this file which you suggested.
with the current rom,i have only 64mb left for internal memory out of 900mb ext4 partiton that i made :S
and whenever it tried to update any app,it says not enough space
now i remember, this was also one way to select internal storage size

but what is CWM partition for?if i select 1gb from 2gb for apps, then 1gb is left for music etc but CWM space is for rom then? or should i just skip it then
i am confused now,if this is not for internal storage then what is this space for? also how much cwm size should be selected n how much space does rom takes?
so i'll go with this latest rom
thank you for your help again.

first, go to Setting > App and look at the total internal storage size ... if it is lower than your ext4 partition, then you installed rom with nand method ( no nand with DataOnExt or nand with extra patches. then ext partition is Inefficient )
for your problem, i suggest you that install rom with clk method ...
Here is the step-by-step guide to do it
1- create 1024MB Ext4 (primary) with minitool partition ( guide . sorry for its language it's persian but it's not unclear )
2- power off hd2
3- hold Volume- and power button ( It will load into ‘Red, Green, Blue and White’ screen bootloader )
4- hspl 2.08 (in RGBW screen ) - download
5- task29 (in RGBW screen ) - download
6- radio 2.12 or 2.15 (in RGBW screen ) - download
7- back clk (in RGBW screen ) - download
8- now, your phone will boot up into android bootloader (a black page) . go to "setting" > "resize partition" and set a partition table that match with your rom.
9- press back button and go to recovery .
10- full wipe ( press wipe "data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition" , battery and dalvike (in advenced) )
11- now install zip form sd-card ( i recommend install NexusHD2 CM10.1.2 v2.6 with DataOnExt method ) ...
12- reboot
13- enjoy

i added up internal storage n sd storage, all adds up to 1.8gb,but internal storage shows 754mb used :S
went to storage,it shows total internal storage as 845mb,available 62mb n apps using 188mb n where is rest of it
anyways i'll try the procedure suggested by you
if i create 1024mb ext4 partition then should i leave the rest as fat by splitting the storage as ext4 n fat32 or just format whole sd card and just partition 1024 as ext4
saw the pdf,i think first i just resize to free up 1024mb then create partition of it then format it n then apply
i tested it without applying, there is no format option for newly created partition so it means i'll format the other space which is old one?
rest will stay as it is
i has hspl n radio,no task 29 done by me ever, but i think i need to start from first step1 again
how much space to partition for the rom v2.6 one?like if zip is 204mb so that much space or space that it will take after unzip
n u mentioned something in 11th step,i dont know what does this means:
" with DataOnExt method"
btw can we flash any rom using nand,i thought only nand roms can be flashed by nand n specific ones for native sd,like there is one miui rom, when i flash it using nand cwm or native sd,it asks if you want to flash using nand or sd with ext, either way after flashing it,it says change boot to native sd at end but htc logo disappears, screen becomes blank at reboot and nothing shows up,rom name is "miuiandroid_hd2_jb-3.6.28"

now create 1GB primary fat32 and 1GB primary Ext4 like guide.now you have a ext partition for apps and fat32 partition for data and it's good
Code:
285mb for minimum
320mb for full

and low sound on ringtones is bug of most 4.1+ roms that it fixed somewhat by tytung ( low sound fixer )
nand with dataonext is a installation method which allow you to use ext partition as internal storage ... and install more apps ...
During installation of the ROM in one step, you have to choose between "Nand", "Nand with DataOnExt","NativeSD" and i would recommend nand with dataonext

userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
what changes should i do to make it 285mb as i saw on his forum that full version requires 285 n min 200mb
just change system from 200 to 285 with no change in others?
for 400mb it was like this
Code:
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 400M
cache ya 4M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
but since i'll use clk to partition so i think i wont have this option right?
dont want to make 400mb space when it requires alot less as that will eat up space for apps i think.
i thought even normal flash like native sd also used internal storage for apps etc,i think current rom v2.2 is slow for me because of sd card having class 4.

i was reading this thread and thought that i'd have to do all steps in post 2 for dataonext, thats a relief
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843062
btw do i have edit flash.cfg file to make partition of 285mb size as normally it would either be 250 or 400mb
i saw this on forum but it was for 200mb:
Code:
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr 5M cwm_recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 200M
cache ya 2M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize

according to saying the cooker of this rom, 200MB for minimum but experience has shown that more size for system partition (also for other especially system and cache) is better.
for change partition, go to bootloader (back button with power) , go to "setting" > "resize partitions" and set partition table ( misc=1M ,recovery=5M ,boot=5M, system=(285M min and 315 full) ,cache=(2M or 3) )
if you have sd card with high class, it's better to install rom with NativeSD ...
and really 2.2 and 2.6 are far apart ... 2.6 is so faster

back button with power while phone is on or when its off?
also i have to do this before flashing or during which step?
i still couldnt get it about native SD,if class is higher then after flashing rom will be faster?
i'll take out the sd card format, partition, transfer the new rom n then put it back in,though clk may have usb storage option like magldr had,but still i cant format sd card while rom is running on it i guess
native SD or nand, how they effect anything, for sd i get it thats its something to do with memory card, nand maybe with internal storage
thank you for all your help
you have been very patient with all my so many questions/

8- now, your phone will boot up into android bootloader (a black page) . go to "setting" > "resize partition" and set a partition table that match with your rom.

or i think i just have to select 315mb in this step instead of going into bootloader with back button and power ?
EDIT
tried back button with power before doing anything,it loaded into magldr
thanks guy

if you installed clk after hspl! ask29! & radio! , you shouldn't see magldr ...

i followed all the steps,it was very easy but after rebooting at the end,it boots in recovery?
with magldr there used to be an option of boot nand but there no such thing for clk so whats wrong here?
also you said rom is very fast with higher class,is that for native sd only or that works for nand with dataonext as well?
when i was flashing it,it showed me internal storage sd space etc all correct where as when i was flashing with native sd it showed me few of them as -1 so i guess everything worked well except for not booting v2.6 rom

i have flashed it thrice already following all steps,i noticed that its T mobile so i flashed with just nand only as well but every time it boots into recovery
how much memory card size can hd2 easily handle and can it play hd videos n big hd games without getting stuck, otherwise getting more size card wont be of much use which i was considering n as well as class 10
EDIT
so i got tired and i repeated all steps but with magldr this time, modified space for CWR
n this time it worked
though what i observed when i was flashing with clk i was getting this, even though i set partition of system to 315 3 times
system nand 150mb
free 149
data nand 767mb
free 765
and then with magldr
i got this
sys nand 315mb
free 315
data nand 605mb
free 604
maybe this was the fault, clk wasnt changing system partition and so it wasnt booting
this rom is working great
but market says no connection even though its connected to wifi started working after reboot, relief
internal storage shows 0.93gb total with 753 available 125 for apps, seems some is lost somewhere but atleast its showing most of it,yay
when i making partitions and formatted, applied,it showed some 67mb used from 1024
Did you success to install the rom?

note: after setting partition table, you must commit change ... then clk will reboot after it
:good:
i got a HD2 and sent it to a store so they will install android on it, they did and it returned with a nice rom, fast and nice looking.
the only problem is that the phone shows that he dosn't have any internal storage, i cant download any apps or recive SMS or any thing like that.
the guy in the store cant fix it ( T__T) and he said (after a few times he sent it to the lab back and forward) that it should work now and if it dosn't he will give me the money back...
well it most be a fixable problem so if you guys could help me that will be great.. im not really good at this stuff so its difficult for me to learn it online.
What rom did they install? look in settings/about phone
If you pay someone to install android, it should work, so a refund might be appropriate.

Nice ICS rom
It seems that the rom is not using the ext4 partition for memory as it should (DataOnEXT). What bootloader is installed? On startup immediately press either the end-call button (if magldr is bootloader, you should get a menu) or the back button (if clk is bootloader, you should get a menu)
I pressed the end-call botton right after startup and got a boot manu so i guess magldr is bootloader..
go to magldr menu/8. ad recovery, it should boot your recovery, and tell us what recovery name and version you have installed. Also all information it gives regarding your sd card partitions, size etc.

I might be wrong, but I think you need to re-format your sd-ext partition, using the option in mounts and storage. It needs to be formatted to ext4, and I am sure that the recovery you have supports ext4 format.
Just a quick question, every time you boot the rom, do you have to go through the setup, language, wifi, time zone etc?

Tytung is using the NativeSD data folder for DataOnExt (same as my script);
I'd say it's likely that whoever installed the ROM partitioned/changed the sdcard after installing thus removing this folder:
If the ROM has a terminal emulator app:
su
mkdir -p /NativeSD/NexusHD2-ICS/data
If not install a recovery with a terminal (Extended TWRP for example)
mount => sd-ext
advanced => terminal
mkdir -p /sd-ext/NexusHD2-ICS/data
Or you could use adb or reinstall the ROM.

Sorry, forgot about this
I am working today, will try and post a flashable zip this evening.
Ok, put the attached zip onto your sdcard by either using a microsd card reader or using the usb cable and choose to copy files to/from your computer from the running rom.
Then go to magldr > ad recovery and install the test.zip from sdcard, you should get some text followed by update completed.
Restart the rom, set it up, reboot, profit?
