hahaha, yea the system one is perfect... i suppose
oh yea, all you have to do is start-settings-then its under the personal tab... its kinda confusing, it just says menu...
take care bro
there's no up/down, just alphabetical placing.
BUT, use quick menu to ease your pain.
If you really like the shortcuts to be in a certain order, I suppose you could rename them from cdc.lnk, fed.lnk etc to 1fed.lnk, 2cdc.lnk. This way it'll be in your order.
can be easily done through the registry

Getting rid of the icons at the start menu

As the pic shows, my background(lovely car huh) gets shifted in the start menu with theese "last used programs"-icons. I have no idea how I put them there, and no idea how to remove them
I've looked through the settings but must have missed, or do you need to modify the registry? This might be a topic for the subforum general discussion.
It's a htc diamond with advanced cfg tool 3.2 installed
thanks
you remove them in settings/today/Items
No I meant the Icons on top of the start menu, for search, notes, contacts etc. just above "Idag".
A side question, how did you manage to put the picture in the start menu? Mine is always black.....

I think this will remedy your situation.
Go to Settings -> System -> TouchFlo and untick the middle box that activates large text/Startmenu.
Thanks CadCruizer it did the trick!

Settings link to standard Windows settings screen

When HTC Sense is enabled the "settings" link in the program screen is linked to the settings tab/pane in HTC Sense. When Sense is turned off in the Today-settings, the same link points to the standard setting screen of windows mobile.
What I want is to make the "settings" link in the program screen to point directly to the standard windows settings (used to be "control panel), or better yet: a standalone HTC settings app then can run outside the Sense environment.
Why? I want to turn of the settings tab in the HTC Sense interface. Something that easily can be done by editing the registry. This way I can manage to minimalize the amount of tabs to 5. Just enough to prevent the disorienting scrolling to the left and the right when selecting a tab.
Can it be done? Is there an easy way to open the windows settings screen while Sense is enabled?
Thanks
You should try BsB Tweaks, one of it's options does just that.
Find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305
Is there a way how to set it through registry instead of installing a special app on that? Thanks

For who wants to know:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration\12
Setting Enable to 0 hides the Settings panel in Sense.

BsB Tweaks does much more than just this.....Just check out the page and you will find that BsB Tweaks is a MUST HAVE App
Besides lots of tweaks it also makes it easy for you to Add Rotation for programs that do not automatically rotate, and/or add Pinch-to-zoom for programs that by themselves do not support pinch-to-zoom.
If you don't want to install the app, you could ask makeveral how he does the settings Tweak (I wouldn't know).
Pappagallo: Ok, thanks for tip.

Set this to zero:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo:HideSettings
and reset.
But there will be two identical icons for Settings after this. You can delete settings.lnk from the Start Menu to get rid of the HTC Settings.

That's fantastic. Now do you have any idea how to create a quicklink to the new windows settings? Can't find it for the life of me...
yes. noob here. All the *setting*.ink's i can find lead back to the sense settings, or handle different/specific settings entirely.

FolioWidget

0.4
it's a widget : add it to your deskop
tap on the clock the open the control menu
Resize this widget to something like 4*1
What's up ?
- VM heapsize tuning for better performances in big applications
- Wifi network SSID shows on the widget
- Change LCD density ( select new one and folio reboot with the new one, the trick is not permanent )
Like ever if you like click Thanks
I do this on top of my job so there's few chances i respond to personnal mp.
I'm sorry for the inconveniences but i'll try to read yours comments.
very good !
thank you !
any news for my requested app ? (shortcut to Account Sync)
Great!
Great job!
Thank you!
One question. How do I resize the widget?
Thanks.
Resize is only possible with some home like ADW. Launcher Pro require the paid version and with zeam you have to reinstall the widget

would a value of 255 (ff) not do it? at least make then incredible unresonsive or?
i will check the kernel registers if we got some other bit's to modify so we can disable them..
btw,
looks like Malata actually took Honeycomb 3.0 solutions into account here buttonwise.

here is your fix , you asked for:
here is the command to disable light buttons completely (will enable after a poweroff)
DISABLE BUTTONS
Code:
echo regctrl=0x8800 >/sys/devices/virtual/input/input7/tegra_capsensor
ENABLE BUTTONS
Code:
echo regctrl=0x8801 >/sys/devices/virtual/input/input7/tegra_capsensor
Requested by user, not my idea here. but probably very handy with AndroidOS 3.0 when its out. (good for TntMod as they got buttons on screen)
thank you Dexter
Sol Ido, is it possible to add this trick in your next release ?
