4.4.2 ROOTED even after factory reset - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone was saying UNROOTED in download mode when I was in 4.2.2. It actually was UNROOTED back then.
But after flashing 4.4.2 ,the download mode now says ROOTED. I did a factory reset and still ROOTED. I flashed official 4.4.2 KDZ using the LG support tool and offline method.
Any help?
D802 With Indian official 4.4.2 ROM KDZ.

try KDZ again 4.2.2 an saw again ROOTED or UNROOT ?

On 4.2.2 after Factory Reset shows UNROOTED. But changes to rooted on flashing KitKat.

Same thing happened to me until I did the following:
Restore to factory via the flash tool method. It still said rooted until I flashed the o 4.2.2. D still said rooted. Once I flashed o it changed to unrooted. Just for grins I went back to d, rooted and then flashed the kitkat .tot and it changed to unrooted. So, on my device anyway, the d .tot hated my face.
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

If we flash 4.4.2 KDZ and do factory reset, it will still show as ROOTED.
The only way around this problem is to downgrade to 4.2.2 and do a factory reset. Now the download mode will show UNROOTED. Then take 4.4.2 OTA. After OTA firmware update is complete, it keeps the UNROOTED status unchanged.
If anyone has managed to Unroot 4.4.2 using traditional offline flashing please report.

Hi, i have a problem with my LG G2 D802, i use the method to flash a new firmware in my phone with the offline mode after of this my phone has been rooted i know that because in mode download put ROOTED in red color. I never rooted my phone and i check my root status via root checker and i am not root. So how is possible that?. I need help please.
Sorry for my bad english.
You should try flashing a 4.2.2 kdz and right after it just flash 4.4.2 (don't do a factory reset)
We all have the same situation. You did a factory reset after upgrade ?

Nope. I only upgrade my LG G2 with code 6RO from 4.2.2 with ota to 4.4.2 v20b or c after i can't found more updates and then i flash v20d 6DE Open 16gb via offline mode after of that my phone is rooted.
I have other mate than have same problem. He have LG G2 of Orange and this company don't have v20d then i flashed his phone with v20c to v20d for get knock code and after of this rooted too.
I think than the problem is ota update and after flashing a rom.

Rooted with Towelroot - can't unroot

Hi
I rooted my stock D802 Int with Towelroot, installed SuperSU. All went fine. The phone was rooted.
Meanwhile, I tried to unroot using SuperSU and it unroots the system fine, but in download mode it still says ROOTED.
Then I tried flashing my kdz file (int D80220D) to put it to stock, using the method in LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock), and it flashed ok (fresh install with option CSE Flash), but the status in download mode still says ROOTED.
Can someone help?
I think you need to perform the tot method (not the kdz) to restore the unrooted flag in download mode.
Thanks! I'll search for that.
It's like downgrade with a tot firmware and then flash kdz, right?

5.1 OTA upgrade error

I am on 5.0.1 rooted with stock ROM and stock kernel. I recently got 5.1 upgrade notification.
After downloading the data and restarting the phone, it started installing updates and after a while it showed "error" and stopped.
Now I m on 5.0.1 with no 5.1 upgrade notice.
What is wrong and what should I do for this?
Thank you.
Do I need to unroot? I am on stock kernel and ROM.

Yes, you need to unroot before you can apply the OTA upgrade. Look for the Nexus Root Toolkit, and it should be able to clean up for you.
But prior I didn't need to unroot to upgrade anytime! To upgrade JB to KK or KK to LP, I didn't unroot before installation.
you need stock recovery to update via OTA
Yeah I was on pure stock. Stock ROM kernel and recovery.
Btw, I unrooted my phone with simply unroot and then OTA update went well.
So now I am on stock 5.1 unrooted.
Thank u all.
i have troubles as well. i unrooted, installed stock recovery (via n4 toolkit) and tryed to install. it takes longer then before but i stell get an error. SuperSU is gone in my app drawer.. any other help?
PS: i am on stock rom 5.0.1
i tryed to use sideload ADB update. it says: "/system/bin/app_process32" has unexpected contents. Error in sideload/package.zip. Status 7
any tipps?

How to roll back to KK

Anyone have a guide on how to roll back to KK. I tried simply flashing the Stock KK rom but it stalls a Samsung logo. I think its due to the Bootloader which I updated to BOC3 when I installed Lollipop. I can't find the old Bootloader.

Before you flash the KK rom, make sure to Wipe data/Factory reset in recovery, then flash the rom using ODIN, once the procedure is complete, return to recovery and wipe data one more time. This should fix the issue and your phone will boot normally.

I had the same after flashing KitKat and then wiping cache. I had to factory reset from recovery for it to boot normally.
Currently lollipop N910c .BOC5
thinking of going back to kit kat.have not tried because it updated to lollipop immediate when purchased.
Anyone who did that.. did you check knox 0x0 ???
Flashing stock firmware through Odin will not trigger Knox 0x1, but keep in mind you'll have to factory reset your device.
Flashed back to KK
I have got a UK N910F and flashed a German ROM this ROM literally ate my battery, after reading this thread I wiped the phone and flashed KK and that worked, prior to this I tried to revert to KK (when I was on 5.0.1) and I could not revert back as I was stuck on boot loop..............Many Thanks

How to get completely back to stock OC3?

I have a rooted OC3 which I unrooted with supersu. On boot it still says "custom" with the lock image and OTA updating doesn't work. How can I get back to pure stock and update to OK2? If I could download the rom I could just flash it but from what I can tell it's only available OTA. I'd like to give this to my wife as a completely stock, updated, unrooted, factory reset phone.
Odin back to Stock 4.4.2 and then take the updates from there.
