I have a galaxy y duos and I can't enter into recovery mode and I don't have any rom on the phone. Download mode is working and I can use Odin. Where can I find Clockworkmod recovery to flash it via odin?
you dont flash cwm via odin for duos
theres two ways to get cwm
1 - flash a tempory cwm zip in stock recovery to load cwm
2 - flash a kernel either via a temp cwm or odin that has a perminant cwm
in your case if the phone doesnt boot best thing to do is flash stock rom via odin and it will be like the 1st time you switched it on
DON'T MESS WITH GALAXY MINI CWM
Using something that is not meant for your device may damage your phone.
(Like you cannot put diesel in petrol cars )
Do what marcussmith2626 said.
Flash stock ROM with Odin. Download Stock ROM from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656825
Then get Root, CWM (it is temporary, flash everytime when you want it)
from here

My friend did that many months ago and his phone was Hard-Bricked (No recovery, No Download mode, no sign of life, USB Jig Failed, EVEN JTAG DEVICE FAILED). He had to change motherboard from Samsung Care (No warranty due to root).
Why to suggest something that *MAY* damage your phone when alternate option MADE FOR SPECIFIC DEVICE is available. Other option is safe, created for specific devices and tested SAFE by many other people

Well, I was screwing around with ODIN and flashing stock roms to try to unroot and get back to factory... Problem is, I can't flash CWM, when I do and try to go to recovery it does nothing. If I flash a .tar it will flash the retail recovery and allow me to go to it, but apparently I've lost access to the E: drive (internal storage). My guess is I may have repartitioned through ODIN and lost access. I cannot regain access to any recovery (anytime I flash it gives me nothing when I click recovery mode). i flash and flash the CWM tar even the retail tar, and nothing works. ive tried repartitioning again with the stock tar files... But to no avail. Please help. Thanks.
EDIT: its the 3G 10.1 7500.
Also, it will boot when I let it ODIN re-stock, but it asks for password. WTH?
I found this thread from thre samsung vibrant where people had same issue. It has the soultion but I need it for the p7500.

You have to do a wipe in recovery after you Odin a stock Rom to get rid of password. But as you are not able to access recovery I don't know how you will do it.
Also the questions should be asked in Q/A forum not in development section.

hey guys, my samsung is in a bootloop and recovery mode is not acceseble
im looking for a cm9 firmware thati can flash via odin3 to fix my phone
i think that is not possible .start ur fone in download mode .flash a stock rom .and then flash CM9 .
Just search for "fix recovery" package. I've seen it in many threads. It should help you
edit: here..I came across with this in some thread..

if you manage to get into recovery, try to flash cm9 again, it will probably fix your problem.
if you rather flash JVU to start over again, dont forget for the small installation that comes after the odin process to end before flashing any custom kernel.
Hey guys, first post, sorry it had to be a lame one asking for help!
I've been rooting my GS4 I9505 repeatedly over the last year or so and installing new roms and sometimes reverting back to the stock rom when I got bored. I've had no problems so far.
Today I tried to flash a new rom, which failed to install properly. I can now no longer boot into recovery, I can only boot into download mode but I can't flash anything with Odin because it gives me a fail message when I try.
I've done a fairly exhaustive search of the forums in case someone has answered this question before and they have. They suggested flashing the PIT file along with the stock rom. I tried that and Odin still gives me a fail message. I can't find any other solutions online and was wondering if someone here could help.
Thanks!
Hi if you've been rooting for over a year surely you have custom recovery like philz or cwm?
Why not just download pre rooted custom and forget about using Odin?
Is there actually a reason you want to flash a rom via Odin.
OK here's some tips why it's not working
1 you have new bootloader the one with Knox and you are trying to flash a pre Knox rom like 4.2.2.
2 the rom is for a different country.
MY short time with sg4 has educated me never ever ever touch pit files unless you know exactly what you are doing (noobs stay way) hard perminant brick!

Sounds like you've corrupted your recovery.
If I were in this position I would flash the .Tar version of PhilZ recovery via Odin to get recovery back.
then boot to recovery and flash a custom ROM.
I have the same problem can anyone help ???
Thanks

There's no recovery enabled
i tried to flash (philz , twrp2 and cmw 2 ) none of them is booting.
So we know what bootloader you have, what does it say (in the top left) when you're in download mode?

here it is:
ODIN MODE
Product name: GT-N7100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (12 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
RP SWREV: A2
So you're on a 4.3+ bootloader, I haven't looked into that much - I'm assuming you can downgrade and have a custom recovery, but I'm not sure on the procedure. (Although i imagine Knox Warranty is irreversible - not like that matters because you would simply say: "I've got know idea what that [KNOX] is" and "My phone must have come like that."
It would not be the first time someone has opened a phone to find the software in a peculiar state!)
Either way you should be able to install and 4.3 stock rom and get stock recovery back.
Perhaps it's your odin and OS setup. Try flashing a few different versions of recovery, on different PCs*, with different cables and different versions of odin. If that doesnt work try the same with different stock ROMs. It's what I'd try whilst seeking more expert advice.
*if on Win7 try running odin 'as Windows XP'

Thank you for your help, i am downloading a different stock ROM now.
but can you please tell me more about that downgrading thing?
I'm not too sure I'm afraid.
My objective, if I were you, get a custom recovery working and install Wamrick's NC3 - stock kernel will work for you as your bootloader is 4.3 and I don't think you can downgrade that due to Knox.

still.. i don't know how to make the Custom recovery work! as you see in the boot loader i tried to flash 12 times and nothing happened.
And you've tried flashing a full stock 4.3 rom from Sammobile right? Running odin as win XP (if on 7)
So I have a friend who decided to mess with his phone, of course without doing a backup, and now he's stuck in a situation that it can't boot even into recovery.
Currently all I see when booting to recovery:
Recovery Booting. . . . .
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
The phone is G900F
He has no idea what version was installed on it before.
I don't need the phone to boot, I need to recover the files on it.
Being a oneplus person myself, I'm not that familiar with samsung phones (my latest samsung was s2).
I've tried to install with odin (3.0.7 - if that matters) the following recoveries:
official twrp 2.8.7
twrp
cwm
All these recoveries showed "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" message as well as the above when trying to boot into recoveries.
I've tried the official recovery as well:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/sm-g900f-stock-recovery-5-0-lollipop-t3228871
which removed the "seandroid" message, but that's all.
Not sure what I'm missing.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm...
I see that your friend messed up his phone very well .....
Hopefully the eMMC memory is not corrupted becuase then only motherboard replacement would be necessary.
Summarising what you wrote:
1. you flashed "official recovery 2.8.7" -> where did you get it from? 2.8.7 is the very old version!
2. you flashed unofficial TWRP very old (2014) recovery (I checked your link)
3. you flashed unofficial CWM very old (2014) recovery (I checked your link)
4. finally you flashed stock, from old OS 5.0 Lollipop recovery provided from entrusted source - nobody reported that it works in the thread.
I listed this for you in order to underline one thing - READ, READ, READ, ASK, ASK, ASK .... before flashing anything to the phone and tell it to your friend.
Le's start with flashing from ODIN ver 3.12.7 (I am using it) this version of TWRP:
twrp-3.1.1-0-klte.img.tar for G900F which is the latest official recovery:
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
Read how to flash it with odin method (when you open the link).
Edit: Are you sure the phone is SM-G900F? Please check model number on the label under battery (inside the phone).
Edit2: When you enter odin mode check phone model version as well - it is provided by installed bootloader.

First, thank you for trying to help me!
Please see attachments:

You can see that it is indeed g900f. I've also checked under the battery.
I've flashed the recovery you asked, however I could not find odin 3.12.7 only 3.12.10, so I've flashed with that (the odin thread on xda does not provide a link for 3.12.7 download).
You can see that it's still not booting with that recovery, it's just stuck at "booting recovery" screen.
I'm thinking perhaps it has a bad bootloader? How would you suggest to proceed?

Ok. Let's continue ... I hope (as I had very similar situation) that the phone is not hardbricked and eMMC memory is not corrupted -> I faced this on my phone and finally had to replace motherboard.
But let's be optimistic:
1. For data recovery - I don't have a silver bullet for this but I found this software: http://www.recover-android-iphone.com/recover-android/how-to-recover-data-bricked-samsung.html
It needs working odin mode so under condition that it supports s5 G900F it should be able to restore some data.
2. For unbricking - I recommend to flash via odin the latest official Samsung stock firmware dedicated to your friend's country/region:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s5/SM-G900F/
You must be registered to download the software. Link for odin 3.12.7 is available on the bottom of the download page.
Just to underline - odin flash most probably (anybody please confirm that) will wipe your data so be aware of that.
Good luck.

Why a full firmware is needed? Perhaps I can flash only the parts required to get into recovery? I count mount the phone from recovery, that's why it's my priority.

Perhaps, yes. But:
1. I don't exactly know what restricts your recovery to run properly. Flashing separate recovery failed.
2. You, for example, could try flashing separately one of the latest bootloaders dedicated to G900F from BL section with odin but I doubt it would help.

tell me first what stock firmware will you later on trying to flash on your friends phone or in which country the phone will be operated.

Latest available Firmware version for Hong Kong is G900FZHS1CQD1 however I can't find a separate flashable bootloader for you.
Generaly, in my opinion you might try any of the latest bootloaders compatible with SM-G900F phone (here you can find a collection: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54094068&postcount=3, I am on G900FXXS1CQI4) but again:
1. I doubt it will help for entering recovery;
2. I still recommend to flash complete stock firmware to unbrick the phone.
However if you anyway decide to try with a bootloader, flash it with odin from BL section (untick auto reboot). Also turn off the phone before and after flashing and pull out battery for about 30 sec. It happens that bootloader doesn't flash properly at once even the odin says "PASS" so some people reported that they needed to repeat flashing a few times. I managed to flash bootloader at first time.
Unfortunateely the phone is not with me anymore, so I won't be able to continue testing. Thank you anyway for trying to help me! I really appreciate your help!
