My first post and I'm not allowd to post in dev section.
There is ongoing development on thinktube.com:
Ccant't post linke either ... sigh ---> www\\thinktube\\com/android-tech/46-android-wifi-ibss
Since CM11 is already in dev section I kindkly ask for an option that this in included in build for G Pad 8.3.
Device doesnt't have SIM slot so having some other tethering device nearby with ad-hoc network is pretty handy.
I have no development experience and maybe I'm asking too much
Thanks,
b.

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this but I am looking to purchase the GN2 as my first Android device when the US carriers eventually carries it. Could someone explain what the difference between the Android Development vs the Original Android Development subforums? TIA!

First of all it should go to Questions and Answers subforum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1792).
Android Development needs you to post your own port, modifications to the roms/kernels, but you have to keep in mind that you shouldn't post anything that you haven't modified/created yourself (posting links to a rom that you can't support).

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321268
Original Android Development requires you to post your own work, usually made from scratch, which you can't find in other roms.

this may seem random, but can any developer make port of rom to HTC Butterfly X920D, it is using the same hardware to that of nexus 4, the support for this device was stuck in 4.4.2 which is InertCoin ROM but they officially stopped supporting the ROM, i love custom ROM n i wish some developer bring lollipop port, i will be thankful, i hope some respond to me, sorry that i made a post irrelevant to this development form. thank you
Two completely different devices made from two different manufacturers. Specs may look similar, but they are from two different worlds. Should have posted this to Q&A so the mods don't have to move a useless post.
Next time, if you don't make something, do not make a thread in the development sections.
Hi all, there's been some back and forth as to which ROMs work on the dev edition. I decided to make a thread to list the ones I've tried and work. I figured we can share which worked and what you did to get them working (i.e. change APN, kernel, etc.). Thank you devs for sharing your great work I've used the following successfully:
Definitive
CM12 (known bugs)
Firekat (in T-mobile thread, daily driver)
Stock
Rick's
Well considering that there is no root available for the retail version it would make total sense that roms posted in the development forums are for the Dev edition of the device. I don't believe there is any question as which roms are for the Developer Device.

Have a great day!
I think he means Rom's that work versus those with too many bugs as opposed to DE vs RE rom's.
For this to be fully useful I would suggest links to the forum post for each Rom and listing out the different CM12 variants (AICP, PAC, etc.). Thanks
What I meant was, "I tried ROM xyz from the tmo forum using ABC kernel". I apologize if it wasn't clear enough. Some folks have successfully ported Roms that were for a different carrier.

My suggestion is that you edit the title also the other user has a great idea to post links for each one so you can actually have a help thread or index.

So....how did you get Firekat to work, then?
I'll update the page with links, etc. today. The Dev, Mega, makes a Verizon Dev edition specific version of Firekat. 11x is the most recent and it is listed under the T-Mobile Note 4 section but labeled as vzw.
Please developers,
develop a rom or a patch of radio or modem which can give user the advantage of VoLTE.
this is a mere request as i can see there is good development in this section.
As per the below attachment, snapdragon 801(msm8974AC) has support for VoLTE (Source: Qualcomm website)
and another attachment states the bands which this phone has. (Souce: GSMArena)
as per my ASSUMPTION VoLTE is only supported on band 5 (850) if this is true than it is hard but you can still try and make this phone better please developers
other phones with msm8974AC with VoLTE : Sony xperia z3,sony xperia z3 compact.
sincere request if possible by changing codes in source code or by modem and kernel patch.
This doesn't belong here+ Our modem doesn't support VoLTE. Go and ask Zuk for and update. I just reported this thread to get moved to another section.

Introducing Motorola Moto G22 (hawaiip) developer community, this is an initiative to bring testers under the same roof for the betterment of development for Hawaiip
I advise people with the device to come forth as testers, please take note that it is only with your support that development with flourish. Regardless of the number of developers, there's no point when there's no one to test.
Requirements to be added as a tester:
1. Must have the device with an unlocked bootloader.
2. Must be knowledgeable and experienced enough with custom ROMs flashing.
3. A reliable internet connection is recommended.
4. Access to a pc would be beneficial for obtaining logs, but isn't necessary.
5. Should be active. You will be removed if inactive for longer periods.
6. Should be loyal to the team. If found to be leaking builds or even mere screenshots, you will be removed.
{Mod edit} If you meet all the necessary requirements and are interested to volunteer as a tester. Answer this post

Hi , i would like to be a tester , i dont have much knowledge in flashing (but i have some basic knowledge and i alr flashed roms on other devices) other than that , i have everything required , where should i contact you? Over discord or in this thread?
Hi. I would like to be a tester. I have many years of basic custom-rom flashing experience on three mobile phones. Can follow any instructions for debugging/taking debug-logs.
Why they don't add our device into the devices list? There's the G20 but not out G22
i would like to be a tester , I have many years flashing roms whit moto g22 have 1 year and ready for give help if it possible
I would love to. I've got a spare hawaiip i'm not using at the moment, and feel quite comfortable with the task as I used to cook my own roms.
