I'm not entirely sure what your problem/question is, but if you're trying to send a message that is in your drafts, simply tap the message and send it to one of your contacts.

When you open your default messaging application, there should be a plus in the right upper corner of you screen. Tap on that icon and enter the number you want to text, then enter your message. I hope this helps.

Do you want to know how to send a message to a contact or how to send a message including a contact to a contact? This might be a bit difficult for you to understand. I'll explain both ways.
Sending a message to a contact is simple, do you see where you typed that letter "H"? Either press on that small line or press on the plus to the right of the line to insert a contact you'd like to send a message to.
If you want to send a contact's number to another contact, simply copy his or her number and paste it in your message. Then send it.

Press on the 3 dot menu in the right upper corner, if I'm correct it should give you an option to add something, like a photo or a contact. Select the contact you'd like to send and everything should be fine!

In that case I think that copying and pasting the number in your message is the only way.

How do I choose who I want to send my MMS to?! I can't see anyway to reach my contacts from the MMS composer screen, so whenever I want to send a picture I have to first of all choose the contact, copy their number and then create a new MMS and paste this number in the 'to' line.
Am I missing something?! Because this is quite an annoying process.
Thanks
Yes, I have the same problems.

I had exactly the same problem, but finally it dawned on me that you have
to press on the text ("To:") not on the empty field. This will bring up the
address book and you can select the recipient.
Not exactly obivous since the text is not marked in any special way.
Nah, can't be that simple... I would have tried that
<I grab my Wizard>
<open a new MMS>
<press to>
zomg! It is that simple! Now I feel dumb!
I'm gonna go sit in the corner and put my special hat on.... :?
Thanks for the help!
Im so glad I have found this forum as I can see all these kind of things cropping up when I get my device.
Is it possible to do this? Everytime i pick more then one name it fails.

Just separate the recepients with a semicolon. Works for emails and SMS.
if you regularly send to a group of numbers you can also do this thru a shortcut. Try this:

Bit weird though just tried it and it worked but each recipient got 2 messages.
yeah.. that's possible but how to select multiple receipents from the contact list without typing the manually..
I think just a matter of clicking the "TO" text and it will brings up the contacts, then you can select all contacts you want to be sent
all semicolon will be done automatically by the phone

I was in a minor state of emergency earlier - where I had to send an MMS to a mate :x
This was my first time writing a MMS on the Vario (I had previously done so on the MDA Compact) so I was doing the usual....then it came down to entering the contacts...
Unlike sending a SMS message or email, the number of person does not come up as you type in the name. In fact, nothing comes up - and in the end, I had to copy the name onto a sheet of paper and then manually type it down into the Vario(!)
Am I missing something here? Your help is much appreciated
just click on the send icon near wher u type the name this will take u to the contacts list.

On mine it's the word 'To:', and don't worry you're not alone - I did exactly the same thing and eventually had to read the manual :shock:
Update the ROM to the latest version and it will automatically bring up there number when you type the name in

Sending MMS's
When I type the name in - it actually thinks i'm typing in the text part as it attempts to suggest words - pretty useless for contacts !!
BUT......
Actually click the word "To:" .. it doesn't look like a shortcut or anything - and it actually opens contacts....
yes - RTFM really does work !
On my BlueAngel (2003SE) - it correctly shows contacts when typing in the "To:" field...

Hi guys,
Just noticed how the Nexus, when i go to messaging and compose a new SMS i cannot view my contact list and select someone. Instead i need to type the first 2 letters of their name and they appear in a dropdown box. Is their no way to bring up the contact list and choose someone?
Thankyou
Download "Handcent SMS" from the market

Yeah, I don't understand the logic there either. Although you could just start in your contacts list and select the text message link from there. Still not as intuitive.
Find the person first, then type the message?

Thanks so i guess its not only me that finds this simply problem annoying. I hate it when i make a mistake accidentally hitting the wrong key and need to delete. Would be such a simple process just adding via contact list.

Well... yeah. Go to your contact list, find the person, and you have a centralized screen where you can choose, inter alia, to call, sms, or email them.
add contacts to sms
Assign your contacts a label i.e. home, mobile etc..
This will solve your problem.
You might have to do this individually for each contact.
Has anyone figured out a way to send a mass text to their contacts without remembering each individual phone number?

twitter.. use seesmic or twitdroid or the like.
Sms barrage works for me. Auto suggest contacts like a regular sms message.

Type the first 2-3 letters of their name and it will show the drop down with their name. click their name and it will fill it in.
Or you can get Handcent SMS. It has an icon on the top left that you click and it gives you a checklist of your contacts to add to the message.
