Hi all I got my HTC One M8 this morning via CPW in the UK ordered last night and arrived at Lunchtime today, good service. A one hour walk through of all the features I could before my battery died.
Feel free to ask any question will check back on the thread regularly over the next few days, if anyone wants me to test any apps or games just let me know.

Are you saying the silver color looks more like white? I liked the silver on the M7. Is it a lighter shade on the M8? I have no interest in the gold. It's the gunmetal grey or silver for me.

I went for the silver M8 like you i like the M7 silver it felt premium and it still does on the M8 only softer in a weird sort of way.

vodafone uk have it on the coming soon page on their uk website mate and their mods on the forum confirmed it is coming soon
you can buy an unlocked one from them for £450 black or white
You can order it from overseaselectronics.com for $750 I don't think they have it in stock but doesn't say anything about preorder. I do like the white but I wanna wait for the T-Mobile varient first.
Gonna keep my money and get ready for October launch day to upgrade.

I think that only u can decide this. I went for the white one because i've always got the black and dark colors. Plus i think u will see less fingerprints on the white one.
But then again some people think the white one looks like a toy .. Well im okay with that. Just buy the one u are happy with

The rumor is to be ordered online for Tmo which I'll assume is preorder. Guess we'll see in less than 24 hours.
I'd probably go silver...again. Can't believe gold is Best Buy exclusive.

That's what it looks like.
I noticed it in the videos but wasn't sure but that sure looks like glass on the bottom.

If that is glass I might have to rethink this device. Part of what made the One so durable was the fact that it didnt have glass covering the whole front. Call me paranoid but covering the speaker grills with glass is likely going to result in busted glass. I really hope it's just reflection and glass dust but it doesn't appear that way so maybe I need to wait for drop test results.
No. The speaker grills are seperate. Look closely. Those are metal scratch on the grill and not from the glass extension.

I'm really stuck between Verizon's gross black or white. I hear the white version feels more matte compared to the black's glossy feels, so will probably end up with that. I tend to like all black and Verizon already ruined that with gaudy accents...
Shine Gold is amazing. Much better than the Galaxy S5 gold for sure.
I only had two choices, black or white (AT&T). I didn't even know that there was a "violet"....interesting...

I was hoping Verizon would get Burgundy. I'm kind of hoping they offer it as a Qi charging back option so I can swap it, though it would probably look better on a black bezel instead of the white one I ordered.

We will see when we get there I'm pretty sure you are right though, but let's see when we get over there! Oh yeah, and as I hear the bootloader are locked as of now so whenever you see an ASUS employee ask them when will we be receiving an unlock so we can start development! Heh.

So that was a fun time. Met a few AndroidCentral people, a few from XDA, and a whole lot of people who won contests to go. I honestly thought it would have ran longer, and was glad it didn't. Pretty cool grab bag as well, and I was lucky enough to snag the red version instead of the grey.
Oh nice on getting a red version! I immediately switched the stock cover out for the view cover anyway, though.
I am liking the view cover...more than I thought I would. the rock garden was a nice touch...

(nod) I don't use cases either. I'm not keeping the phone, though. It's really nice. I actually like the form factor better than my Nexus 6. Unfortunately, both T-Mo and AT&T are awful here in CT. I'm bouncing between 0 and 1 bar on the Zenfone and have full bars on my N6.

I overheard you say that immediately after you got yours, I asked about what other colors they had and the gentleman sure made it sound like he would have given me a red one if I asked nicely. But I wanted black
It's cool that they had a bit of flexibility.
Jaysus145 and I rolled up from Harrisburg not knowing what to expect. We were really blown away by the hospitality and had a great time. The Zen Garden is in my girlfriend's cubicle already. Nice touch by them including a T-Mo SIM as it gives people with coverage concerns a chance to give it a try. My coverage here has been pretty solid but on the ride home, it was very up and down. Coming from VZW, that might be an issue, but it does give me an option for when my contract is up.
Good to (sort of) meet some people at the event. Good times.

I was able to snag a red one as well. The color is really growing on me!
I was at the event as well and was happy to meet some of the people and get a free phone to review and play with. I got the red one as well...seems many people did not know...that they could just ask for a red one lol.
