RIL Issue - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I had my nexus 4 working this morning and suddenly my internet died, I couldn't connect to internet but my SMS was working. When I came home i connected to WIFI and tried to flash some kinda weird RIL, when I did everything died, sms, calling, internet. Im running cyanogenmod 11, does anyone have any good way to fix this and flash some custom RIL with badass functionality ?
EDIT: Fixed, but internet still wont work, when i connect to wifi in status bar it says T MOBILE when i disconnect from wifi and go to 4g it says, NO INTERNET CONNECTION.

Maybe flashing a factory image solves your problem. (if not, it's most likely a hw failure)

Don't scare me bro ;0

I'm not intended to, that's why I said to flash a factory image first.

I'm not really in a mood for loosing all my data again and reinstalling rom completely..

I suggested it because this way you can rule software failure out. (Do a nandroid backup, so you can restore all your data if you want to)

I installed stock rom, everything worked fine, then when I wanted to switch back to CM, I installed it and internet doesnt work again, wtf ._.

Well, at least the problem is not hardware related.
Stick to stock, try out another rom or wait for a stable cm.

NEVER! CM ftw ;D I'm on M4 tho, thats stable? :0

It's a milestone/snapshot release. It 'should' be stable, but as your example shows, it is not.

Thanks for help btw ;D
And when do you think cm will release "release candidate" or final version, w/e?

No idea, sorry. I'm not following closely the happenings at CM Inc.

This is what...the 3rd or 4th person this has happened to? It's a shame it really is and accidents happen. I hope people take more precaution in the future. :/

[Q] lost mobile signal and unknown baseband

hey fellow members,
k, so I've been having this issue where there's no signal and the baseband is unknown. This has been happening ever since I flashed KitKat and usually after I reboot the phone, the signal/baseband would pop up after about an hour or if I'm travelling around town.
When I did receive signal, there was no audio during calls so I decided to flash the kitkat factory image hoping it would solve all these issues but now the signal never shows up and the baseband is still unknown. Then I flashed jellybean 4.2 factory image and the problem doesn't exist, I receive signal immediately and audio during call worked so I ruled out a possible hardware issue.
I've also read through the other dozen of threads with similar problems but none of those solutions seem to solve the issue.
I have no clue what's going on and any help would be great

Does your phone have a valid imei? I'm just guessing here as I've seen posts from N4 owners that lost their imei during a flash or update process.

[Q] 4.4.4 baseband drivers?

Anyone have these or know where to get them? I've looked around to no avail. Since CM didn't upgrade them we all have to do it ourselves... I'd rather not have to go through the agony of going back to stock and probably not doing it right, so figured I'd try flashing the drivers. Real tired of my GPS not working at all, and all the other radios just barely hanging on.
Your help is appreciated!
What do you mean by baseband drivers? Do you mean modem? Then you can flash them yourself true Odin. Keep in mind that CM is experimental, so that could be the problem of your GPS problem.

There has been a JIRA ticket open on it since October with many users and different phones having the problem. Anyone who has fixed it themselves has done whatever specific thing for each phone needs to be done to update the modems. It doesn't seem like CM is going to include the modem drivers in a nightly so it's up to each user to do it themselves .

What you need to do is just pick one of the latest modems. If you don't know which one just try a few 4.4.2 modems. It doesn't have to be exact.

I just got done installing the latest firmware for my specific phone, and am restoring my CM backup now. I also found that they stopped using a comprehensive jflte package and there are now new ones for each type. They stopped doing that late last year and apparently restarted it this month. I may try installing that tonight.
Thanks!

HELP! WiFi Issues

Sorry I'm a noon, don't do all those font sizes and colours and pictures aha but basically... I've been on CyanogenMod for about a year now and have never had WiFi issues. Been using cm12 nightlies for most of this year with no problem however, after updating my nightly the past two days I've been experiencing WiFi Drops happening every min and a half or so. So annoying. I've used Wifix apps etc, no luck. I've reverted to old night lies I used to run without any problems however the problem stays. I've consider flashing back to TouchWiz to see if that helps it but I really don't want to
Can someone please help me. My phone is on contract and my bill is overdue so I won't have mobile data until it's cleared (around June) so if I don't have WiFi, I'm screwed.

Have you tried flashing a new modem? This generally fixes wifi (and sound issues if there are any)
I barely know what a modem is haha but if that's the case, I'll try today.
Here you have a list of modems. Read the topic as it also has some info and the flashing guide.
You need to go to sammobile firmware checker and input your phone model, country and carrier. Then it will show you the correct firmware for your country and carrier. Based on that, download the modem. Make sure you get the latest modem. If you can't find the latest modem on the linked thread, there was another thread with all the latest modems, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I'm on 5.02 CM12, I downloaded the latest modem for my GT-I9505 which matched the firmware code for a 4.4.2 S4 however still no luck ffs. This is really annoying, i don't know how my WiFi could jist shut off on me like that :/. Looks like I'm going to have to buy myself a new phone then. Can't use my mobile data for a couple months as my carrier has blocked me until I pay off my bill and now with my wifi disconnecting every 2 mins, I basically cannot use the internet. So frustrated.
I've flashed new nightlies, changed baseband versions, factory reset my phone and still no luck. What makes things worse is i cannot see any other threads with people in my postition so help is so minimal :/. Annoyed is an understatement.

If you updated bootloader then you can't go back to kitkat roms. Only the 5.0 lollipop roms. But Samsung hasn't released the official update in all countries.
If it still doesn't work, even with official firmware, then it might be hardware related. Maybe even your wifi router.

You have to double check which bootloader/modem/kernel required with rom that you are flashing and must check is that rom is for your model.
Before you flash anything i highly recommend you to backup your current EFS/RADIO from twrp if anything goes wrong with efs you will face lot of issues.

Could be that the Custom OS that you installed onto your device was not designed for it.
I'm downloading only ROMs which are made for 910c so that is not the problem.
