Sorry for posting it here for the simple reason that I'm new here and hence not able to post anything in the development section. Nice work here! Tested on a TW T8585 LEO512 with DataOnExt and almost everything is working here: smooth transitions, working sound and HDA (not perfect, i.e. defective 720p decoding but useable with lower definition), seemingly working SD mounting (test not done yet), smooth Rosie and fast WiFi/3G (if only the latter didn't crash that often).
Nevertheless, problems/bugs are as follows:
1. Bluetooth detectable but no working scan nor successful pairing.
2. Camcorder crashes upon mode changing/simply doesn't work.
3. Long pressing hardware home button doesn't give background management
Back to the title. Please check your update_script and look for the 49* lines with a text editor (I suggest Jota+), delete the doubled parentheses, repack, flash and enjoy!
Okay even more exact:
493delete("/data/framework/HTCDev.odex"));
494delete("/data/framework/HTCExtension.odex"));
495delete("/data/framework/framework.odex"));
Look for these
And please, could someone be so kind as to post a link in the corresponding thread in the Dev section? Big thx here!

Having a hard time uploading the modded ROM... WiFi/3G works fine without modding, only integrated ICS GApps from 2012 instead. Can you tell me more about the ROM you mentioned in the main thread? Is that actually the one from the link you posted (mediafire), i.e. ville2ics? Do you consider it being capable of daily use or at least better than this one? Does sound recording work (voice input/voice messages)? Waiting for your reply!

While Play Store doesn't work very well (same situation), since the base is changed to CM9 (you could observe that by showing the Recent Apps screen with a 3rd-party app, which is of AOSP style), the sound is great and sync works after I've swapped the GApps from CM9. HWA is also important for running certain games. So after all this ROM works better for me. My daily driver remains CM11 from tytung, nevertheless. As a second mobile, this phone is still quite a reliable device apart from being an open, reverse engineered piece of hardware.

i started this thread to show the full advantages and disadvantages of the desire v5 rom
1. when booting the (quietly brilliant ) is written very slowly hope to fix it
2. the dynamic wall papers fast but when turning bages it moves allittle slow
3. multitouch apps works very well and the hd2 tracks the fingers right (better than the desire ) the axis problems doesnot exists at all
4. the phone calls works prfectly without the echo
5. camera and video recording works well but with no flash
6.compass works well but just calibrate it before using any app
7. pinch to zoom works better than windows mobile
8. most apps from market works well
9. the green led always flashes why?
10 . using 3d benchmarks applications it shows the same graphics power as the desire , which means the 3d acceleration works well
11.the screen colors sems to be better but not sure
12. gps does seem to work but not sure
13. the weather app seems to be laggy and graphics in it doesnot seem to be good like at wm version
14 . the hardware contollers at the wired headset , doesnot seeems to work \
15.some options like quiet on pickup doesnot seem to work
16. light sensor doesnot work
17 . thats all for now , it seems that we are going to get a full android port soon , from what i see from this performance it works better and faster than my xeperia x10 which is android based device and i will keep you updates with issues that appears
Still too slow for daily usage imo. After using an hour I returned back to the Windows Mobile and I just said "wooaw".
Windows mobile was x10 faster than desire v5.
I'm looking forward for new updates about this issue.
wait, so the mic is fixed? You can actually have a normal conversation with the person on the other line? If not then i'll surely wait...

x10 faster? lol, i don´t think so.
i´m using the v5 since 3 days without a pause. calls are perfect, no crashes, 95% of all things works perfect. and at the weekend i scroll thru the market for hours and can´t get enough
ok, the winmo is faster on the hd2 at the moment and we all know it, but to play with the android makes a lot more fun...
it's just on some of the android rom's that don't have sound for the moment.
for example, I used NRGs android rom, and sound didn't work on that, but otherwise everything worked ok
i managed to last a couple days using the android rom, but winmo is superior for the moment, although i'm sure in the near future when further bugs are ironed out and the battery life improves, then a lot of people will definitely be switching to android.
so i have the HD2 and i am running WM6.5 i am on t-mobile as well.
i have tried to read as many threads as i can. and i am serious looking at doing this. but i need to figure out what some of the things are in the how to's, but that is for a later time.
what i am wondering. does everything work when you dule boot in droid on an SD card.
can i still Tether?
are there functions of the phone that dont work?
can i go back if i had to or is this a one way deal?
do the five buttons do anything once you go droid?
just wondering what if any problems happen when you do this right.
thanks
Everything works....except 720 video recording. Video camera camera quality is still really good though. If you boot from SD you can get back to Wm by simply rebooting. All data is saved on your sdcard.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
tethering depends on the rom you install
some builds dont have a working camera otherwise it nearly all works
yes you can go back
yes the hardware buttons still work and are functioning
so which versions of Rom do support tethering
If i were you,i wouldn't hesitate and install Android NAND build. Most of them support tethering and work perfectly fast and stable

which rom support 720p video recording?
so far none i think (correct me if i'm wrong)
but the devs are working on it and i guess it wont be very long until it'll work
Just start with the NAND built, you won't regret it.
Just look out for certain roms and their kernels, some hace a VERY high battery drain
So I am not usually the guy to post new threads. Most everything I need I can find already. But after I was video recording my son at the park today and missed yet another video due to FC issues I guess it's time to finally ask. I have had my HD2 running some android rom or another for almost 2 years. I presently have CM7 Tytung v 3.8.5-MAGLDR. The reason I am asking this here and not in that thread is because it has always been an issue regardless of the ROM I am running at the time. The video recorder force closes. It's that simple. It works intermittently and then it will inevitably force close and can not be re-opened. The only fix is to reboot the phone. I have tried about every camera/video app in the Play store. I have flashed different cameras. My wife also has an HD2 Tmobile the exact phone as me and has the exact same issue as me. The video recorder force closes. I have to wonder if I am just missing something simple? Is there an app or something to flash differently? I recently had WP7 on my HD2 and the camera was AWESOME ! WP7 just doesn't do what Droid does.I am open to suggestions. Is this a known issue I am just forced to deal with on my HD2? How can I make my Iphone buddies stop laughing at my force closing Android HD2?

Youre not alone, same thing happens to me :/ no matter the ROM, i remember reading a thread about it but what i read didnt really help. It said something about not using the fix because most newer ROMs have the fix installed. So i didnt bother downloading it and cant find the thread anymore. Im gonna go look fo rit. hope others can help us both!
I found this earlier today here on the XDA site "props to whomever it came from " I just did a random search and found it. I was using my phone so I'm not sure the page exactly. Never the less I unistalled the stock camera via Titanium Backup and flashed this through CM Recovery. It has a video feature and a decent camera interface. So far no lock ups. Only this afternoon though. Time will tell. I've been running test to try and fool it. Using lots of memory, taking multiple shots switching back and forth, rebooting etc. So far its worked. Try it out, lemme know if it works.
Well, I had been using a CM7 Nightly neared build with a few mods that jar never failed me with camera and camcorder- it was so dependable that I have it on my old, some-hard-keys-dont-work HD2 because am using ICS primarily nowadays.
I'll post what changes I make later, and can post the ROM itself here if anyone wants to try...

*Update* So after almost two years of agony I may have finally found a fix. The .zip file I posted earlier has worked so far. I fooled around with it all day yesterday and last night as well as this morning. I tried everything I know to make it crash from running multiple apps, opening a camera during a call, playing music then opening the camera etc. Rebooted a couple of times. Still not crash. I'll keep posting here with status updates. I found this yesterday on the XDA site. I just did a Google search. I am not sure who originaly posted this .zip file. If it continues to work I will give them a hug
Hello to all
There he's no hope of one day Rom designed for DZ/G2, including all the capabilities of the device ?
Whenever a port is performed, either the camera or the wifi does not work, or the implementation of special characters (such as ç, à, é, è) are incorrect, or landscape mode is not available, or languages are English, or English (!), etc, etc ...
In any case, thank you to all the team continue to make us "live" our desire !
If we had to rely on HTC for this, it would be long gone in the trash ...
you should really check out Andromadus mimicry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714187. Pretty much everything works great, and has all the hard keyboard capabilities
And let's go testing Mimicry !
Thanks !
I'm using mimicry 1.4.0, except for a few strings is completelly translated in italian, and there are other languages too.
Camera, landscape, wi-fi and all work beatifully, it has just few minor bugs left, good battery life, awesome performance for the device too!

Yet I installed gogglesapps but it does not work ...
Definitelly not normal. Convert all partitions to ext4 if not already done (except sd card, just leave that fat32) reformat and reflash.

You might want to test out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493404
It really depends on how heavy user you are, if you going to like this rom or not, but I've been using it for months and everything except occassional slugginesh, worked fine.

It is true that it is a good Rom but too much lags (can not answer a call, for example) and it does not support the French in the physical keyboard.
I still have my non rooted note 2. I had a nightmare reinstalling my back ups the ones on my memory card could be found .Thank for my phone explorer that saved the day for some .
Also Kies didn't work with this at all it days I need a new version which I could find.a whole day wasted so far .(this is one area where iPhone is leaps above.)
Seems to take longer to turn on.
Overall I like it and the back is good non slippery.
Haven't had time to check it all or the pen apps but I few things I notice .
No Polaris office but there's a Polaris viewer only but I can't find it in the apps.no radio.and the my files manager seems complex.
I have a gps app called Osmand from my old note and the maps where on the sd card but it doesn't seem to find it.
In fact only my music and photos where recognized none of the data or backups where recognized.
I'm using nova launcher but the touch wiz is real fast now .
Screen is great too early to tell about battery .
Haven't tested the camera yet .
But one bug thing for me exchange active sync is white and Grey now much better to see.
The one thing that has left a bad taste is the back ups I used my back up pro to my memory card plus even nova back up couldn't be found but Kies has to be rewriten.
Please ask any questions and I'll try to help as I still have my old note.
Also my bookmarks didn't come over using the standard samsung browser en en though it's synced.
Sorry if this post is disjointed just wanted to update you all

Some questions
Hi mate, I want to ask you about the speaker performance (sound volume and quality) of Note 3 compared to Note 2 because there are some contradictions between which one is better and also about the sensitivity of touch screen and stylus! Don't forget to update us about the battery performance of your Exynos powered Note 3 and contrast it with your Note 2! Thanks and have fun with it:good:
just want to confirm. any missing s-pen feature when changing to nova launcher from stock tw?

Its been abt 12 hours I m using Note 3 and have been a user of Note 2 also the speakers are better then Note 2
Plus its placed beside charging point which is very good and the sound is very clear unlike Note 2 where keeping it on a table blocks the sound and makes it choppy
I loved the Keyboard its superb
Over all the device is very fast not lagged even once so far half the Ram free if all apps are closed
The Touch is very responsive and the screen is flat
One more thing this device is not for some one who wants more flexiblty as its little big and ideal if used with 2 hands
Hope this helps

Jeez, I cannot believe we still live in an era where native browser support does not have flash capabilities ... this will be rather sad coming from the HTC One that I have had stolen from me which had its native browser load flash FLAWLESSLY and without ANY lag ANYWHERE within the Sense UI or otherwise....
