[Q] SOS - HELP 4 S4 Clone gone BAD! - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
URGENT HELP NEEDED
SEE FULL PHONE SPECS AT BOTTOM OF POST, which I have managed to claw together in the last 24 hours ... I am giving you guys as much info as possible, so you know what I have done, tried, what has failed & what has worked; Even if only partially! Rather more info & you guys can skim, versus too little info!
Dearest Distinguished Fellow Geeks, Friends, Developers & GOD's a La Tech!
I'm @ my wits end & bloody terrified right now (And if you read the background on me below, you will realize that it must take a calamity of EPIC proportions to get me remotely upset & additionally, I have never EVER before been so clueless in terms of something IT related & therefore, this is the first time in my whole life that I am posting to a forum) - if I'm blatantly honest wif ya all & PRAY someone can help me or guide me 2 help!
I could be a developer myself, as one of my god given talents, happens to be a qualified advanced & senior tech specialist, BUT NOT much of Unix, Linux & I have barely been learning on Android, for the equivalent of a YEAR, as a newish convert from iPhone - That said, I have NOT & WOULD not take a step, without first researching at least half a dozen reported user experiences and/or answered/RESOLVED technical user replies & their explicit advice, followed with my own weighing of the Pro's & Con's FOR ME, based on my personal & business needs (I weigh Pro's & Con's old school style; on a block of A4 Lined Paper & if I establish a RISK @ or OVER 60%, in terms of Android/Linux/Unix, I would NOT change a thing, before making a novice mistake, such as this appears to be!
NO Android expert, but I am equally NOT naive! I only moved to Android from iOS at S3, however, I did manage to Root my current "S4" via code & managed to do it without much difficulty ... The REAL problem began last night, when a new app I downloaded which was meant to show me WHY I was suddenly getting ERROR msg after ERROR msg that I had no more internal space (That I would not get new SMS, that hell was about to freeze over and so on) & that with EVERY APP that can be on an SD card, on mine, and having only the essentials on the Internal, so as to keep the internal components running optimized at all times. I am meticulous about maintenance & permissions repairs.
First, some background about me, to help you understand my level of expertise - My technical field of expertise is a combination of self taught, work/career related trained or post secondary schooling certifications, for example WIN/DOS (Graduate of half a dozen MCSE etc Certifications, with no less than 98% Average) - Thereafter, I naturally gravitated career-wise to the PC-Hardware side - I learned on the fledgling ancestors of todays Internet, before the internet took off (& whilst I am no longer working due to substantial disability, I have managed to keep my IT skills sharp as Needles) first, in my early mid-teens @ Canada's then most technologically advanced Internet Provider, Bell Sympatico, thereafter promoted up technically to Bell Nexxia for Corporate Internet & High Level Resolutions, never before seen at the time, which then lead to me being headhunted & promotion to Global Crossing & being privileged to be a part of IT history, by being a part of their backbone; For those unfamiliar, GC was the BIGGEST & at that time MAIN company responsible for laying the Fibre under the Oceans we use to do EVERYTHING we do today! Later, I worked for Dell & was specially trained & Dell Certifications @ Stage 4 Tech Level (Highest Dell internal "Dell-On-Call" Expert level tech, at the time I was employed there) ... I am a child of the Internet & Computer Age at 34 years of age & my first memories, are not of when I first walked or spoke one of the trilingual languages I was simultaneously raised with, but rather of sitting on my dad's lap, as he feverishly worked on his then, over $50,000 expensive, room sized computing outfit, which kickstarted a lifelong & ongoing fascination with ALL things IT. At home I always had a Mac alongside my PC & became famous for being the first person in the world to program & allow a Mac to dual boot into Windows - A story that was extensively covered by the media at the time, as MS & Apple were NOWHERE near what I had achieved & anticipated the same result "hopefully" within a year. I became one of the main consultants to BOTH to create what became known to the world as "Bootcamp" & was privileged beyond belief to meet my idols, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Captain Crunch & Wos! Today, I still have my dual boot MacBookPro sitting next to my PC, despite Windows having ALWAYS run better on Apple's hardware, than ANY competitor PC hardware maker I have EVER tested or used! Hacking software & making it work with hardware outside the concept of their makers, was ALWAYS my biggest ambition; Essentially, discovering how things work and/or don't - Learning by trial & error, if you will & that has always been my motto & thus far, it has only enriched my technical capabilities! ...
... That is; Until last night & today! ...
So I was suddenly forced to select & place my faith with a highly rated App from the Play Store (Unknown APP Developers was NOT yet checked, as mentioned in more detail below) - Sadly, I cannot tell you which APP it was, cause suddenly the action it recommended & took me to a system crash, followed with seemingly endless Bootloop. I essentially can't get past the boot screen UNLESS I do a Reboot Recovery via ADB, with the phone connected to the PC via USB, then a wipe of the Cache & data wipe/factory reset. INTERESTINGLY, I have managed to duplicate this OFTEN, after the restart following successful Cache Wipe & Factory Reset, the phone boots to the SysUI as it did when I unboxed! That is NO PROBLEM! I have duplicated this result so often, because I have naturally tried every other technical option, known to mankind, before my last resort, this POST! INTERESTING as well, PERHAPS, is that I cannot seem to use ANY route, of the MANY, via Volume Up & Down, Home & Power to get to EITHER Recovery OR to Safe Mode! I have ONLY been able to use the buttons within Recovery AFTER a recommended Win App instructed the phone to "Reboot Recovery" - I then get the droid guy with the red exclamation mark & to get to the options, after trying all sorts, I discovered that I had to hit the Power ON/OFF briefly to have the options list show up! - Then with the use of the Volume Down button to Scroll, down, through the options AND Volume UP held longer selects the option highlighted in Recover Mode, leading for example to the Data Wipe/Factory Reset option & the foreign looking (Seeing it for the first time, I thought my phone was fawked for sure if "NO" was appearing in the list of options THAT MANY TIMES) list of "NO" options with a "YES" option & further warning beside it! - I cannot explain to myself WHY the phone will not seemingly go into Recovery manually, with any number of button press options alone & I reckon I have tried every combination of options, I managed to find on the net, YET as soon as the phone is commanded into Reboot Recovery via ADB Win App, the buttons work after the phone gets to the, CLEARLY distraught Droid laying on his side! When I try to boot WITHOUT USB into Recovery it either flashes the display and/or Boot Logo, over & over until I release and/or even makes a clicking or clock tick-like sound, combined with an endless boot logo, until I force a shutdown via EITHER holding the POWER ON/OFF button for about 10 seconds, which leads to the endless Boot Logo OR the combo of Home button & Power ON/OFF, which to the best of my recollection flashes the display ON & OFF, until released, then endless Boot Logo. I had a similar problem with my S3 after it had a fatal drop from my hand, caused by a temporary paralysis of an extremity, which is one of many side effects/symptoms of my Illness/Disability & happens without warning, HOWEVER, in the case of the S3, it would Boot Logo for a bit, then reboot itself & repeat & there was NO WAY to stop it doing that until the battery died, or was physically removed by me. So this time around, I am quite literally delighted that it will AT LEAST go into Recovery via ADB & USB & then the use of the buttons when inside & that it WILL stay powered OFF, unlike my S3 fatality. Just to be clear, my current phone has not even been left to bounce around a protective enclosure within a small pouch, NEVER-MIND a drop!
This APP I downloaded 24 hours ago was "designed" to reveal ALL internal files that IT (The APP) considered to be bloatware and/or obsolete files, clogging the internal side ... It led me straight to one file, which stood out to me, like no other, because I live in Germany & speak German. Here we have a load of so-called APPS named either "Mediatheken" or "Mediathek" or "Mediatheke" & they are VERY popular Digital Options or Features - The variants arise in German, depending on how one is describing it & how many one is speaking of! A "Mediathek" singular, is ONE way of saying, what we refer to as "Media Center" & "Medien" the other way of saying "Media" CANNOT be used in this context, because "Medien" in German is reserved ONLY for describing the traditional "media" or press NOT Media Files etc. Whereas saying "Mediatheken" or "Mediatheke" is the English equivalent of "MEDIA CENTER" with greater than one, in content & IMPLIES a tangible digital file or FILES! To define it is easier! It is nothing more than an APP or APPS, made by individual German TV networks, giving the user the ability to stream any program after it's airing (Similar to Netflix or another provider I use here, called Watchever, which allows the user to download ANYTHING for offline viewing, which is in addition to Music Streaming services which I am a client of & use on my mobile as much as I use them on my traditional computer. Those services, Ampya & Spotify, ALSO allow "offline" downloading of music, which is then logically (Or so I thought anyway) downloaded to the Internal Storage - To make the whole thing even more complex, I unboxed & setup the phone in German first & used my offline Music & offline video Mediatheken WITHOUT an SD Card until I realized, space was becoming a "life or death" situation. That would mean, theoretically, that ANY say series, movie or music I downloaded to the German Language setup phone, stored internally before I got the SD Card & it would be logical, that the created folder for the said media, would be called MEDIA which is Mediatheke in German. I changed the sys language from German to English when I successfully rooted it, well over 2 months ago now & DID NOT/forgot to switch back to German ... So whilst my phone was literally terrorizing me to uninstall ANYTHING on the internal side, via a peppering of errors I couldn't OK fast enough to be able to simultaneously get rid of ANYTHING APP wise, that is unable to be stored on the SD Card. The concept was, get rid of the NON-ESSENTIAL apps stored internally to calm the phone down & then proceed to find a solution to track down, easily, what was causing this sudden space crunch! The irony is; 95% of ALL the apps on my phone, were capable of being run & stored on the SD CARD; Meaning there was clearly more than just 2 or 3 APPS I had to quickly dump, but obviously, in my mind, there had to be STUFF on the internal side, media, that was left undiscovered by me or which were NOT auto synced to DropBox or my Google Drive. As it turned out, initially, I was correct in assuming that there was obviously **** on the internal side, which I had long forgotten about & adding an APP here or there, which HAD TO BE installed & run internally such as, one example, Facebook, plus the forgotten media, had now led to the Space Crunch! I went folder to folder to locate the media I had looked at, was sent or received BEFORE my Micro-SD Card upgrade & uploaded them all to my DropBox & Google Sync, so as to have 2 backups. BUT, even after having deleted a good 100 pictures & audio files, there was still SOMETHING I was clearly missing in terms of space usage, versus the size of the APPS now on the Internal side & their total space. Which is when I began looking for an APP to hunt down bigger files in bulk & in my panic, the app recommended I ditch a file I was named "Mediatheke or Mediatheken" - A file I thought was loaded with crap from all these various "mediathekes" due to its size; That, I thought, not only made perfect sense (after discovering all the other media pre SD Card, forgotten about & causing the Space issues) but HAD TO BE THE "ROOT" - no pun intended - of ALL EVIL! It deleted the file without so much as a warning that said file was being shared by other APPS or systems, NEVER-MIND WARNING ME of what would come next! The phone suddenly crashed & rebooted only to reach the Boot Logo & remain there, illuminating the logo just as it normally would, but without proceeding! Since the first Reboot Recovery, Cache Wipe & Factory Restore & the phone would do EVERYTHING as expected, again & AGAIN, until it finished booting & had loaded the stock SysUI & the pretty diagrams of what each thing does, which was & remains the goal, ONLY, within 10 seconds MAX I get the same Error in Grey "Unfortunately the System UI has" stopped/quit/failed/crashed" - I cannot recall, because of my illness, which if the 4 it said & BEFORE I could even hit OK or do ANYTHING at all, it auto shuts down & returns to the non-stop Boot Logo.
At first I thought I was dealing with a simply/slight corruption or error (Perhaps because of the Cache Wipe) that would surely allow me to proceed someway or another, to resolve the problem & in the course of my following non-stop research to resolve, I deduce that the corruption or error is 100% the ONLY thing causing the SystemUI to fail, thus MUST BE related to the deleted file. I was correct, it would appear! This APP had me delete something big in size, related to the SystemUI, namely Mediatek" - The difference is ONE SINGLE CHARACTER, namely the missing "H" which would have made it "Mediathek" & instead has caused me an unprecedented, epic nightmare, unlike any nightmare I have ever had, seen or heard of in my 3 decades of IT induced life! What followed has had me part terrified to death, part dumbfoundead, part mystified, part livid that such a colossal error or mistake can be allowed to proceed, without even the slightest regard for the integrity of the carefully cared for by myself, Operating System & has now ultimately left me resigned to the gut wrenching feeling of utter helplessness/hopelessness ever since ... The ERROR came in a heartbeat/blink of the eye after the file was deleted, WITHOUT any warning the file MIGHT be essential to or even shared by the system/OS or other applications FORGET a warning that I would be deleting a file that MUST be kept, was recommended to be kept or had to be kept; FULL-STOP! As soon as the error notification pops up, the phone literally reboots itself right back to square one & stays there, until I force a power cut via a long hold of the Power ON/OFF button OR by physically removing the battery, as a NUMBER of threads from you guys have instructed other's to do, in the case of Bootloops. Even more remarkable, is the fact that during the endless Boot Logo, I can attach my phone to my Windows or OSX Mavericks, at ANYTIME, without any difficulty or say lag & command it to Wipe Data or Reboot or Reboot in Recovery & after a clearing of the Cache & a Factory Reset or vice versa, tried in countless different variations & times, the phone DOES reboot & goes back to the factory ROM, YET, as soon as it shows the newly restored UI, the System UI error comes, knocking the phone back to endless Boot Logo. Also interesting; My phone doesn't seem to want to go into Safe Mode either!
To add insult to injury, I realized only in the last 24 hours that my phone is NOT a Samsung S4, rather a S4 clone (Make = Shengda - All retrievable specs I have managed to get, below, since "Shengda" doesn't seem to have it's ROM's available for an emergency, or a decent website either! I am FURIOUS that this phone seemed so good at having convinced me that it was a Samsung S4; Even the various Device ID apps I have had; Perfect example, in order to do the ROOT, the phone was identified as nothing other than a Samsung! ONLY the ADB console on my Win revealed its maker was NOT Samsung at all, but a "China phone") that looks identical to the S5, except with extra's like a Dual SIM, which was the major selling point at the time I bought it! I thought nothing other than it being a modified or supped up Samsung S4, with a S5 size screen, back last November when I bought it & no one knew that it would turn out to look virtually identical to the current S5. It was billed as a Samsung S4 "modified to higher specs & added features" like the battery, apparently the same power of the S5 batteries & 2 of them to boot: Each a much higher mAh than the S4 offered & on par with the soon to be released S5. To be frank, the phone has been a DREAM; Until NOW! I have never had an issue with it! On the contrary, I have continually had better results with IT, than Samsungs new S5 is promising ahead of it's German release next month, to give & NOT to be compared with the S4, the alternative at the time! WHO WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT THIS PHONE, is the only question I can pose, even now, still!
I am now at such a stage of despair, that I have long gone into "DO ANYTHING MODE" to bring my beautiful phone back to life! In my desperate search I found a website, NeedRom.com (which has MANY shout out's to XDA btw) & interestingly they have NO MENTION of Shengda BUT when I did a cross search of the EXACT ROM I have, via the Build ID, it returned a ROM from another maker I have NEVER heard of before called "Star"! I don't know a thing about how to get a working/stock ROM or "custom rom" onto the phone, with which I would hope to be able to re-install to a similar functionality that I had before. That is where I place my hope in your wonderful & endless talents! However, in the meantime, judging by the Build ID, being numerically, exactly identical to the one that was originally what I believe is called the "stock ROM" which doesn't want to reset itself to how I got it ... if my guesstimation that the clone maker "Star's" Android Build = identical to the "Shengda" one I started with, that would tell me that it MUST be highly compatible with my phone & hardware, therefore could be the EASY resolve!!!???
What makes me worry is that it REMAINS from a different maker & my lack of knowledge vis-a-vis ROM's and/or how to install/flash a Custom ROM's, plus add to that, without having some APP being placed on a phone, which is not working in that capacity YET, makes me pause, because I simply do NOT want to take a stab in the dark! I am willing to take any ROM that will work, BUT, I am sure you will respect the fact that I want to know exactly what I am to do, step by step, including where to get the necessary tools, the ROM itself & how to apply them all successfully! I know that I can Apply from ADB, or SD Card in the Recovery I can get to via USB, but I'm still confused as to how the rest works & at the least, would need help or a point in the right direction to learn how to do this successfully, no matter the time or resources required! On top of that, I DO have Odin but ZERO knowledge on how it works, which settings I would check/NOT check & what wants to be done to make the "flash" fully successful. I know that I am patient & learn VERY easily, IF I am given the right material guides or help!
Another point of confusion for an Android user of my capability, or lack thereof, is that users, along with developers seem split on whether to use Odin or perhaps Heimdall on OSX, which some say is apparently much superior & less risky (Not that my phone's risk could be any greater right now - In my opinion, my phone might be what is referred to as a "soft brick" based upon my newly attained knowledge of the last 24 hours, or it wouldn't load the OS, Restore to Factory ROM, only to fail because of the System UI!) - On top of that Needrom.com has a totally different method to get the ROM onto the phone, which of course only adds to my confusion; Which is the better or BEST way, for the phone & for me! I downloaded the exact build I spent hours hunting down, unzipped the Flasher Tools, but since the "Instructions to install the ROM" seems to have been written by a non-English speaker, or worse (Translated from some language via Google Translate & copied & pasted) as the "definitive guide" to follow to successfully flash this ROM on my phone; Essentially the instructions are so garbled & unclear to this native English speaker, that I am reluctant/worried to do it to begin with, before I give ya all the chance to help me, perhaps with steps I have missed out or which did not present themselves; My disability unfortunately affects my concentration, so if something is not as CLEAR & straight forward as you guys ARE, then I could cause yet MORE damage than has already been caused! Despite my newfound knowledge that one can apparently "unbrick" - Something that I learned a few short minutes ago & which gives me hope that my case is not as hopeless as it would be, IF I were still an iPhone user!
Guessing, with reference to IT, is FUN as a geek, I'll admit it, shamelessly, but NOT when it's the only phone I have & WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD FOR A LONG TIME, with no chance of a contract phone or anything of the sort, because I am disabled & therefore also poor! This phone enabled me to monitor my over dozen different medications, medication doses, refill times, reminders ... It enables me to program my WELL above average NEED to see DR after DR, Specialist after Specialist & do so, without great effort, nor worry that my own Neurological Disorder, will cause me to become sicker than I already am! This phone is my medical Bible! Without it; I would be FULLY unable to manage half of what this disability forces me to live with & I PRAY to God that someone may have enough patience, understanding & love, to help me restore what is an indispensable medical asset & my ONLY means of contact with the outside world. That's LIFE, when you get struck down with the worst Pain Condition known to man or DR & my phone has been the lifeline, I cannot live without. The damage caused so far has caused uncontrollable pain attacks & pain no other person can contemplate; Yet I KNOW that the thought alone, that this is unresolvable, would do far worse damage, than anyone can possibly fathom!
So I am praying that you wonderful users & developers will be able to help ... I turned to you FIRST because I marvelled & bow before you, at the success rate of the half a million posts & threads I have read since the meltdown started, before even coming to the detailed conclusion that I am at now, contained herein, all on my own!
Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]
May God Bless & Protect You All,
Sent with LOVE, Kindness & Admiration for you ALL! Heroes & GODS of Technology!
Thank you so very kindly!!!

The bible and XDA dont give support to clones
Hi,
There is only one place on XDA that may be of help...
Look HERE
This topic is a joke right?

I don't think the longest post on xda is a joke!
However since he needs help, we should help him
That's what the rules of xda say
Since I am not better than him, I'd request somebody to please help him!

I am sure you can figure it out yourself :good:
1. Too long, didn't read.
2. We don't provide support for clone devices for a variety of reasons but mainly because they usually have vastly different specs from their real counterparts and often solutions that work for the real phones won't work on the clones.

Powerful engineering tool for your watch phone mtk6260A - DZ09, GT08, GV08, F8, etc
Lately I found a very powerful settings control tool for our watches - be aware, it is designed just for few of us who secretly want to get till the deepest guts of our "toys", if you feel pointed then you know for sure that before to use it have to do a full readback of your original firmware 'cause you know for sure that our "wild" behavior could conduct at any moment to the most hated phenomenon - bricking ya watch I hope that, here, all together, safely experimenting, to discover secrets, methods, new best settings for our gadget I assume that you have already installed mtk drivers and did a full firmware and primary settings zone backup Some steps: 1. Get the archive from here - link - and unzip it 2. install mtk drivers 3. Install the app itself in the most normal way 4. Launch it and press reconnect 5. Shut down your watch and connect it 6. Ready! Now is your turn! Use your money wisely, DO NOT WASTE IT buying from GEARBEST! - worst shipping ever (10 days in case you're lucky) - most products are defective (this is referring just to smartwatches and watch phones - can't say anything about other products) - in case of complain (ticket) the answers are standard corporation statements - they are not fixing any issue - just will waste your time, week after week for months - for instance, in my case started in august 2015 and finished in april 2016 - if you are continuing to complain, trying to obtain your money back or a new item - your mistake, they will switch off in your account the capacity of opening tickets (disputes), they will wipe out your account of any points, credits or previous tickets -

Sounds scary
jayshocka said: Sounds scary Click to expand... Click to collapse Sounds scary in the good way or in the bad way things are in fact very simple and the interactivity could increase (now depends on people. . . of course)
Scary as in virtual world and computer taking over my life I wish I had the time to get that involved. Job kids and school = 17 hour day
To whom it may concern, I have released a new version of Readback Extractor, now much more faster
Update Mar-12/2016: as long as on the market appeared a long line of new types of mtk6260 mtk6261 mtk2502C mtk2502A (etc) watches equipped with strange new PCB or flash_ID parameters, the new release <Readback Extractor mtk 2.0> now has the capacity to identify, to read, check, rebuilt firmware and collect and insert in the .cfg files the flash_ID's coded inside the ROM dump for almost all types of mtk watchphones or smartwatches based on RTOS Nucleus
Cant use messaging service on A9 smartwatch.... says 'Currently not available' ! It's correctly paired and have access to phonebook and make/receive calls but not messages..... Can somebody shed some light in this matter please? Many Thanks!
Please does anyone have the stock ROM file for apro q18 smart watch
I tried using this tool and now I think my watch is dead.. I plugged it in while it was powered off (It showed its loading screen). After I hit reconnect and turned it on and showed me an alert saying something like boot failed and now it's not responding at all.. it's just a black screen D:

Please Help! Note4 (SM-N910P) Messed Up by 6.0.1 MM update!
I am a cancer survivor, trying to rebuild my career after 3 yrs in hospital and 7 months in intensive care ( I was NOT expected to live had last rites read 3 times) I, now back and trying to get real work going, was making my Proposal and new Graphics and VR Scenes, and was just about to apply for funding for my VR Startup (focused on creating Teaching and Training Tools Ironically) and suddenly, my ONLY WAY TO VIEW MY WORK my Note 4 has gone to pot! The thing never worked right after the 6.0.1 update, I may have over filled the internal chip too and that was the last straw,.. Symptoms: 1) It Reboots over and Over,. 2) When I go into recovery boot mode, it 1st shows Android guy and says 'Installing Updates' then into boot menu 3) Whenever I boot I see it saying 'FINALIZING UPDATES' then second window pops up 'Updates Installed Successfully' This should not happen every time I boot. 4) Will take forever then NOT Boot at All, I have to take battery out for 1+ minutes then it will boot I have gone to EVERY Conceivable Website, (I have been trying to fix it for 8 days 16-18 hours a day and pot after pot of coffee tearing my hair out, My entire career rests on the line right now. Took me over 3 days of non stop Rebooting trying to get into Developer mode and turn on USB Debugging. Allow Unknown Sources and Delete Caches. All thing that 1 of the 30 Youtube and WWW AndroidFLASHING Step by Step videos and webpages I have completed repeatedly all to no avail (ODIN ALWAY FAILS< I TRIED EVERY SINGLE RELEASE OF ODIN 'FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL'. The info out there is so sparse and inadequate, the 'EASY STEP by STEP sites send one to to SITES LIKE THIS: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910P/ I suppose I am to GUESS which of the 20 files WON'T BRICK MY PRECIOUS WORK TOOL.. Which one for my NOTE 4 SM-N910P??? and send me to sites like this: http://odindownload.com/Samsung-Odin/#.WKq-728rKOk I suppose I'm to GUESS which of the 8 versions WON'T BRICk MY PRECIOUS WORK TOOL. Someone please help! ACTUAL REAL HELP, THE HELP I GET IS always: "Just go FIND ONE OF THE STEP BY STEP Android FLASHING WEB PAGES." Great,../. Been there done that, 50 times... (and nearly every site) ODIN Fails Every Time. I see the option for: 'flash from SD card', but there seems to be NO Info out there about that, (sparse at best certainly NONE of the type of info I remember from the 1990's when Step-By-Steps included ALL THE STEPS< and no, language shortcuts, or half terms , or GOD FORBID acronyms the person has to waste time asking about and waiting again for a response...)..) Somehow I don't think I've bricked my phone, in all this 'trial and error' step by step garbage,.. It will still boot into the 'factory reset I did 8 days ago,. (still reboots spontaneously within a few moments) , uses battery too fast, all the bad stuff mentioned by the HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE online about what happened to their Note 4 when MarshMallow 6.0.1 came out,.. I wish I could go back to 5.1.1 but 5 days trying tell me that will not happen. (of course simply REFLASHING 6.0.1 to try to get a perfect copy hasn't worked either,.. Anyways, like all online info, the info about ODIN is so sparse and incomplete I am essentially GUESSING and doing Trail and Error, (there are FOUR sometimes 5 slots in Odin whee you can link to an MD5 file (?) or etc.. and I have yet to find a page that mentions WHAT the Categories are, (they say : BL, AP, CP, CSC, UMS,. Means nothing to me and I after over a week haven't found anything actually helpful.. I am an Animator and CGI Artist that worked in Hollywood for 20+_ years, if you need an Animated LOG or a VR Advertisement for your service, you help me get back up and running I will create you a Logo, or Animated Character Avatar or Environment and Advertisement in a Virtual Reality Video for upload to Youtube VR and Facebook VR,..? Scratch my back get back scratched! I am also a Orchestral Composer and recording Artist I can make you a custom score piece, Page opening, or? , or music for your Youtube page etc, I can sound like a Full Orchestra so realistic you will think its the real deal! . SORRY if I sound upset or frustrated, ( I am,) My life is breaking and my career is dying right before my eyes, I can NOT afford a new VR device of any kind, I was trying to GET FUNDING - though this week introduced by the dam bad or corrupt update has probably made my funding impossible, that was the time I had to work... but I have to keep trying anyways ;~) PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE EDIT: I found out one thing here at XDA so far! "They are they same except for csc settings. SPR will give you sprint branding and csc. XAS will give you regular samsung branding. " COOL, THANKS XDA< I hate Anything to do with Sprint, I use my Note 4 for developing VR ONLY in the new 2016 Gear VR - I'm one step closer I sense,.. ;~) update 2: i BOOTED MY PHONE TO TRY TOP TAKE THE NEXT STEP (THAT I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER NOW IT'S GOTTEN SO CRAZY) ooops caps, and it took up the whole screen with: "UPDATE AVAILABLE: Download and Install" I about jumped up and down happy thinking, surely they noticed the the 6.0.1 update nearly destroyed the Note 4's (and if not the hundreds of people complaining about it online should have told them) UNFORTUNATELY< it crashed halfway through, I re-booted it finished downloading, I finally clicked APPLY NOW, it seemed to do all the usual stuff and turned it self off, then 'UPDATING Android' It got to 25% and DIED> (Literally there is the 'DEAD ANDROID with ERROR underneath it' Whoever makes these updates must have hired that programmer that sent out the Windows NT Death By UPDATE LOOP mistake a decade or so back,. . Well, that's it. I can't do the HOME+Volume up+Power trick anymore, in order to have any control,. the HOME+Volume Down+Power still brings me to the download screen, but as 8 days of frustration tells me that is a useless setting and the whole ODIN thing is a joke (perhaps an actual joke by some hackers or something)/// Even if ODIN DID Work, I am unable to get any of the files i need, I get 'network errors' on downloading the Flash File from https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910P/ It will NOT DOWNLOAD< I have tried every day for days,.. (If anyone knows of a source for the file (s) I Need for ODIN and a SM-N910P that doesn't want to Charge $ to download, (or take forever then cancel out). I would surely appreciate it,. Be nice to at least TRY the binary that is supposed to be the 'correct' file,.. Though I think I am beating a dead horse. I am afraid of myself tonight, I want relief, I want peace and this damn stress to go away,.. I want to end it so badly now, I see no future, no hope, nothing good will ever happen again in my life and I cant even see the Virtual Worlds I create,. There finally, Truly is no reason to continue. THANKS SAMSUNG FOR DESTROYING MY TOOL AND MY ART AND MY WORK AND MY FUTURE. and my LIFE. Robert

New user with a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone in search of Help
Hi, my name is Nan & i just bought this Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone...though i can take apart & rebuild a computer, laptop & even tablets from the ground up, im new to Smartphones, a virtual Noob..but..i learn quickly, once i've been shown how or where to learn abt stuff.....bought this phone cos i can't afford the high end phones & it seemed to have some nice features...and quite frankly i did not expect to have all this trouble finding information on how to tweak it or i would have kept my ancient relic trusty flipfone......this Luna, it's loaded with bloatwarez...so i saved & bought a huge 256 mSD(SanDisk, not a knockoff) for it..but hardly anything will move to the SD even though i made it the go to download storage, replacing the internal....hate loosing all the cool apps i have on it & giving up the dream of an integrated AI Smarthome(have Echo & Dot & hubs & Echo already answers landline & makes calls, etc) All run by a Smartphone instead of a gaggly collection of remotes & lets not forget all those delish VR capabilities i know are underway...my fear is..the apps themselves may be refusing to move? Absurd as that seems it sure seems that way..&...Every rooter i've looked at seems to be for the original J3 but not the Luna.....without full knowledge im scared of creating a pretty pathetic paperweight brick...too many infos on this phone are greyed out...Does a place exist to read up on full details the obviously Altered Android of this particular phone? & if not does anyone here know what, if anything, can i do to take the necessary steps for manual root & maybe even check if it's possibly still somehow locked? Or...maybe...i simp[ly got what i paid for...ugh >< .....i know these questions have probably been asked many times over but my searching these forums for several hours didn't produce any...so..im asking now...Any & All infos will be Gratefully Appreciated!

I have same phone. Nothing's rooting it. But I'm not very knowledgeable on root, flash, roms etc. Did u get root sucess?
for rooting theres been work but no Cigar the J3 Luna Pro is shipped w/ a Locked bootloader and Knox Enabled / SELinux set to Enforcing. without a signed rom w/ these disabled rooting goes and will go nowhere. :/ if you got this phone for rooting you screwed teh pooch as it were to use a slightly bad term. and i belive tracphone's unlocking rules is you haveto have the device n activated for like a year or 2 i think? if you want a verry similar phone seems they had success w/ the J3 Emerge which is pretty much the same exact phone but w/ more ram to the thing. and designed to run on the bigger carrier's networks
Yuehoo YH-605 (7inch 8core Allwinner T8, 4GB/32GB) root, improvements etc
Hello to the community. I bought this unit 5 days ago, for the simple reason that it was the only unit with 4GB of RAM for under 100 euros! I bought it from banggood using a coupon code I saw in a youtube video. I haven't installed it in my car yet, I've got it on my desk with power applied and keep playing with it. I searched many forums to find any information I could about it and ways to improve it, so I decided to start a new thread here and keep all information together. HARDWARE 7inch LCD, 2 DIN 8core Allwinner T8 4GB RAM 32GB ROM STM32 MCU Android 8.1 (NOT 9.0 as falsely stated) HIDDEN "FACTORY SETTINGS" MENU Settings - System - About Devices Alternately tap on the Kernel Version - OS Version (3 times) Be careful when playing around this engineering menu. Many people, including myself, pressed some button that shouldn't be pressed and ended up with a screen that didn't respond correctly to touches. If you end up in a similar situation, don't panic and follow this simple procedure: Connect a USB mouse. Enter the hidden engineering menu. Go to the "Other" tab. Find "Touch Learning": Step1:Screen learning - you adjust the touch ... => Step2:Key learning - press "RESET" => touch the "Power" button and select Power at the left short touch = = OK ... then the "Back" button then "Volume +" and "Volume -" => now press "Save & exit" and you're done. PIN when needed: 666666 The "Developer Options" menu cannot be unlocked like in any other Android device. In order to have access to this menu, simply install QuickShortcutMaker from the Play Store and find it on the menu. Don't forget to press the little star on the right to move it on Favorites. I hope there are other users of this unit out there and get this tread going. Next post will be about rooting this device! Have fun.
ROOTING THE YUEHOO YH-605 DISCLAIMER!!!!! A. Dealing with firmware modifications and "upgrades", always involves a certain amount of risk bricking your device! DON'T attempt anything if you don't fully understand this and you are not prepared to end up with a "dead" device. I'm not responsible for anything you try, don't come whining afterwards to me if anything bad happens, you accept full responsibility for your acts. B. Having said that, I consider this procedure pretty safe. We'll be using the "update procedure" to install new firmware from an SD card. If something goes wrong, you can try to install the original unmodded firmware and go back to a working device. C. This procedure was executed by me to my own YH-605b, with the following characteristics: Hardware Information: 8-Core AllWinner - ROM 32GB - DDR3 4GB - 1024x600 - d2 Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.89 - Wed Aug 28 16:11:04 CST 2019 OS Version: KC1D01I1-O49-3.0.4.3.5-IVT-20190828 MCU Version: STM32-20190828-11-KC2-30 If anything is different in yours, please consider if you want to try this, even more D. I received my unit 5 days ago. I haven't installed it to my car yet. It is sitting on my desk with just power applied to it. This means that no sound, steering wheel controls, or any other car related stuff have been tested. I'm just testing it as an Android device and everything seems to work fine. This also means that the next one who tries the procedure, has to test everything afterwards inside the car and kindly return feedback! I'm not planning in installing this unit in my car any time soon, to tell you the truth I get more pleasure in "playing" with it on my desk, than having it entertaining me in my car Unfortunately, we are living in strange times and right now it helps me kill my time and learn stuff. E. After the "upgrade", everything will be factory reset. Self-explanatory, just have this in mind, any changes you had made or apps installed will be gone. F. As far as I can understand, iGO is installed by hand on the device, after manufacturing, during final testing. This means that after the "upgrade", the application will not be there. If you want to keep it, just copy the iGO folder to an SD before the procedure and copy it back and reinstall the application afterwards. As far as I can see, everything else will be there. If something is missing, please report back so everybody will know. By the way, if anyone could send me the iGO folder, would be nice G. From my research, people kept telling that the way to do an upgrade is by using the "hidden" internal SD card slot. That's what I used, but by mistake at some point I realized that the external works too! So, you should be able to use the SD card slot on the front face left for the procedure, if this does not work, then be prepared to dismantle the device and use the internal one. Warranty void alert! PROCEDURE!!!!! Funny enough, the procedure will be a LOT shorter that the disclaimer! I'll try to keep things as simple as they can be... 1. You will need a microSD card, at least 4GB. Maybe it can work with a USB flash drive, but I didn't have the time to test it. 2. Download the zip file, using the following link. https://mega.nz/#!YRZl1ADC!JGyl9Occ6CMmxxftkUDOyFxXSn2Fh8kTVI7XLn6qrPY The file contains the already rooted image of the original firmware, done by me. Also, the PhoenixCard folder which is needed to prepare the SD card, a short video of how to use PhoenixCard (not done by me), and the Magisk Manager application for the device. 3. Extract everything, best to your root directory, e.g. C:\ . 4. Watch the short video. Execute the PhoenixCard application and "burn" the image to the SD card. Give it time, it will seem that it froze but eventually it will finish. Safely unplug the SD card from the computer. 5. Insert the SD card on the device and boot it up. There should be a progress bar if everything is going OK. Wait for it to finish, there should be a brief message like, "CARD OK". The screen then will start to change colors from gray to black and flickering. Don't worry, give it a minute or two and then remove power. 6. Remove the SD card and power it up. If everything went well, it should boot up to factory restored Android. Connect to wifi and enter your Google Play credentials, as usual. 7. Copy from the computer to your SD card, the Magisk Manager apk. Insert the SD card to the device and using ES File Explorer install the application, following the suggested steps. 8. Open Magisk Manager and follow the suggested step. The application should do its magic, reboot and you are done! You've finally got a rooted device For anyone that tries this, please give feedback, it's essential in order to help others. If anything goes wrong, don't panic and explain what happened, I'll try to help. If something goes very wrong, try to burn the SD card with the original image provided and "upgrade" it with this. Original firmware: https://mega.nz/#!9JYFGYCI!QBHeC1c3sV4Dap0iQlZUyTE8eEld7w86vjmZqwMWeok If someone is interested in the procedure of patching the original firmware, please tell me and I will prepare a short tutorial. Have fun
I love this unit! Hi, by any chance when you "open" the unit did you see anyway to add external mic. Because the one in the screen is very poor quality.... Also tried any car launcher like FCC that works with Bluetooth? It is very hard to find people with technical knowledge on this....

I didn't see anything, but perhaps because I wasn't looking for an external mic connector Maybe you could use an external USB one, just a suggestion. Also, I didn't have time to play with other car launchers yet, when I do I will report back. Have fun.
Hello my friend! First of all my congratulations on the topic, it is the first I see about the YUEHOO YH-605b Head Unit. I am from Brazil and I acquired this head unit recently, but unfortunately my experience with it was not good. Here are some bugs I found and some things I didn't like: 1. The main screen is horrible, very different from my previous head unit with Android Oreo 8.1, what I liked most about it was that the widgets already appeared on the main screen, on this device the main screen is black and without any widget from apps 2. The music and videos freeze out of nowhere during playback 3. I cannot synchronize my phone's phonebook with the device's phonebook, the message appears synchronizing... remains forever and does not sync any contacts 4. The image on the reverse camera is horrible, the same camera had a very good image on my old head unit. 5. The touch screen is terrible when you touch the corners of the screen. My question to you would be these: * Could this root procedure done by you fix some of these bugs? * Is there a firmware update to fix these problems? * Can you tell me if is possible to update the operating system of this unit to Android 10 or downgrade to Android 8.1? I look forward to your responses.
Super Well have done it and all went very well. Phoenix Card can be a little flakey but apart from that really reall good. Thanks a lot been hopeing for this for a while. I would be intersted in the processe so if you do a little guide that would be super. And again thanks a million. Jon
Hi, I also have this headunit, and have noticed it is unstable when trying to run more than 1 app simultaneously eg launch Igo then try to operate a split screen app, it crashes before even selecting another app. I have checked with some fake memory apps and it appears to only have 2gb memory. 2gb should be sufficient to run simultaneous apps without crashing to launcher, is it possible to fix the incorrect memory amount (and android version) with root? The launcher also seems to be memory heavy, it appears to take nearly 1gb on its own. I assume all the apps etc on the first page are a part of the launcher, so replacing it may not be possible without loosing functions. I will upload the igo folder when i get a chance, it's a shade under 8gb so will take me a couple of days! I'll leave a link when it's done. Dave
obfripper said: Hi, I also have this headunit, and have noticed it is unstable when trying to run more than 1 app simultaneously eg launch Igo then try to operate a split screen app, it crashes before even selecting another app. Click to collapse Thank you obfripper for your eye-opening message! I knew that the OS version was spoofed, but I could have never thought that they would spoof the RAM amount too! Silly me. Unfortunately, you are right. I checked with "Fake Device Test" and your point came true. And for the fact that I was still skeptical, I double checked with a terminal emulator with the "free" command, same result :'( As for your questions, I searched for restoring the correct amount of RAM in the OS. It's a very difficult procedure, you literally have to recompile the kernel, which is something I don't have the knowledge, neither the time to do. Guess we are stuck with a scam device. As far the launcher goes. Some apps are indeed dependent on it, some are not. Some people replaced the default apps with others (radio, phone etc) but many of them have issues and don't work, so I'm staying away of trying to replace them. The launcher could be replaced with the stock one with some effort, but although I don't like it being too simple and too "golden", I find it convenient so I decided to keep it. The only thing I will do is change the "golden" theme which I hate, to a more fancy "green" one. This will happen soon and I will share it when it's done. I ordered my unit in early March from banggood. I entered their site and opened a complain asking for full refund for being scammed. I'm pretty sure I'll get at least half of my money back and then I will be a little more satisfied with my purchase. Thank you Dave for all the interesting information and I will keep you updated.
@MarkoDiMarko Will the device be stable when I install your custom rom. I've also this device and the navigation app keeps closing itself. When the root will fix it I hope I have a stable device. I use TomTom for navigation.

It's the factory ROM, only patched to be rooted with Magisk.
I'm also contacting banggood. It's not working stable with the tomtom navigation app. I think that's becouse the app will use more ram than that's actualy available and then crash.

I decided to upload a video on Youtube and send them the link, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bRxONGk_BA Offers, declines and counteroffers started and continued. The biggest amount someone else got back and keep the device, was 40 euros + 2200 BG points. So, that was my last counteroffer to Banggood and that is what I got. Good luck with the dispute!

It was very difficult to negotiate with them, consultant send very similar propositions and information all the time. I also wrote a negative opinion about the product but they did not post it at the auction.
They seems to change cpu in the device...new one purchased on 17/07 has cpu allwinner t3 with max 1200 Mhz same fake 4 Gb memory and fake android....but came with already rooted firmware but not properly working root.
I had the imprudence to buy a radio tape recorder for $ 113 YUEHOO YH-605 on banggood.com. Everything in it is good according to the description and a video with disassembly and display of components confirms this. Unless the amplifier is soldered from 7388 to 7850. But in fact it was not what was in the description. Instead of Android 9 installed 8.1 Allwinner T3L 4 Core 1.2GHz is installed instead of Allwinner T8 8 Core 1.8GHz Instead of 4GB of RAM, only 2GB is installed. But this is understandable. Allwinner T3L works with no more than 2GB. bluetooth does not interface with anything other than the phone, you can forget about ELMs and bluetooth adapters for diagnostics of gas equipment (in my case Stag). Which radio chip is soldered is not clear, the sticker was ripped off by the conspiracy the Chinese and without removing the shielding protection of the soldered one is not possible. I can't add a photo. I have less than 10 posts. Who disassembled and who has a photo of a sticker with a radio chip designation? I have not yet been able to get the firmware from the seller in order to understand what kind of chip is indicated in it. "translate by google", sorry.
Seems they brought out a yh-605b version Ordered mine from banggood (deal price £90 delivered with insurance) from eu warehouse (to the uk) I ran the fake test device app and although android version is still scammed, they have greatly improved the memory issue! Over 3gb ram (I'll run the test again and update my post with exact figures today). The manual they provided shows a different stereos wire diagram which is confusing... Does anyone know if the 8 pin (female on the stereo) is where the steering wheel controls plug into? Im struggling to get it working on a seat altea (factory fitted vw engine) i have the right adaptor so everything else works fine! Also which igo files are safe to delete or are there any that need to stay? I use google maps and galaxy note 10+ 5g is the no brainer processor to run sat nav ? Thanks ?

Click to collapse As I can remember hooking it up, you use the "KEY1" cable, plus I used a ground to connect them to the 2 pins that came from my car. I have already lost the "iGO" folder during update But I remember that there was a folder named "iGO" that contains all the files. If you use a file explorer, I'm pretty sure you will find it and remove it safely.
I have a similar unit I purchased back in March from aliexpress. I stumbled across this post as I'm hoping to find a root solution. Mine passed the android version test on Fake Device Test app even though it's reporting as 9.0 in about device, actual is 8.1, so kinda weird it's reporting correctly everywhere but the about device section. Ram was advertised as 2GB on my device, reported accurately. The sellers page said that if it has 4 cores it is T3 and 8 cores is T8 but everything on mine is reporting as T3-P1, including Fake Device Test app and CPU-Z, even though it does show it indeed has 8 cores. Your devices specs seem to fit closest to my device of any I've seen posted about. My device specs are as follows: Android Version = 9 Hardware Information = 8 Core Allwinner -ROM 32GB - DDR3 2GB - 1024x600 Kernel Version = Linux 4.9.118 - Wed Oct. 16 13:55:41 CST 2019 OS Version = KC1C01D5-O55-1.0.4.3.1 - BLINK_NETWORK - 20191016 MCU Version = STM32-20190924-11-KC1-38 I figure these units were probably pieced together with spare parts they had a fair amount of. I want to try your root method, but I'm a bit leary of flashing anything to this unit in fear it won't work again. I at least need to make a full back up of each partition before doing much of anything. Due to the minor differences in our Kernel, OS and MCU versions I hesitate to flash the file you provided in Post 2. I learned my lesson a few years ago on an older MTCB unit that I spent two or three days recovering after flashing an incompatible file. Would you be willing to provide the steps taken to achieve root access? Thank you in advance!

First make sure you have some original firmware you can always revert to (you can only be sure if you have already tested it and everything went on smoothly) and then we can discuss how you can patch the original firmware, if I can remember the procedure after so many months
Bypass the lock screen
Hi all - I imagine this has been asked a thousand times before, but I am new here and in need of some real help. My brother recently passed away, and his phone (Huwei P Smart 2019) mysteriously went into Airplane Mode, and has no sim card. The lock screen is on and none of the 'usual' numbers or patterns he used appear to work. This phone was his lifeline before he died, using it to speak to doctors and care workers - which is why I do not think he set it to airplane mode himself. Shortly after he died a 'friend' went to his house to 'secure valuable belongings' and he had my blessing to do so. When I managed to get there, and secure those belongings myself, lo and behold the phone was locked. Apparently, it does this when it powers up after the battery drains. Apparently, (according to the 'friend') on a reboot it shows a lock screen... and somehow goes into airplane mode. All I know is his two other older android phones do not have passcodes and all are open and accessible after a reboot - I've already been able to check these for data easily enough. I cannot even see what version of the OS is installed, but I'd guess it is the default that the phone came with. I am not an Android user, and am certainly not a 'power' user of any device, so I don't know if what the 'friend' is telling me is total BS or not. What I do know is there is likely to be some essential information stored on that phone, let alone photos and memories that his family would like - I am specifically looking for any details of his medical treatments and messages he might have received just before he died. I've trawled around countless 'phone repair' booths in countless malls, and everyone tells me the same thing - it can be opened, but you have to wipe the phone. Obviously, I don't think that'll help as a) I don't want to reuse the phone and b) I need the data from it to help with an ongoing case. So, the question is, can it be done... and if so, how? Thanks in advance to all who reply.
Not sure if I believe the story. Probably with testpoint, with unlocktool, with chimera, with EFT dongle.
I've tried some methods the testpoint methods I tried all erase the data. All other working methods are on youtube search for huawei frp without data loss and similar search strings, and click on Related videos. Don't connect the Android to Internet to avoid security update. Try the method with sim card with PIN however that may need a previous version security. If there is important data wait some time and check youtube again however there are fake videos on there. If it's too important probably someone can attack it through some method. However if you have no good reason to attack this device better move on I do not believe the story with deceased relative and whatever is on the device maybe it's water under the bridge move forward. If not then it is a high cost in your time effort money patience better invested elsewhere. Whatever the case not judging
