USB audio dock on LG G2 / D802 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does it work on LG G2 (KK)? And if yes, where to enable it?
Thank you.

Nobody?

I've been wondering you you can send audio out through USB also

Seems to work as reported by a forum member
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51280278&postcount=229
I don't have an LG dock though to test.

Actually it's not really clear what has been used there, as I can't found any "LG Docking Soundstation". Actually I'm searching for solution which will work on Desktop Dock EDD-D200BEGSTD - http://alltechnoblog.com/dock-for-samsung-galaxy-s-iii/ (it perfectly passes for LG G2 as well)

AFAIK the USB Audio out is no longer supported natively on 4.4.2. This is the reason I went back to 4.2.2 as I used my G2 as music player and connect to external DAC/amp. USB Audio Player Pro works but you will be limited to using only this app.

USB Audio Player don't work for me either
BTW, could you please share with us source of information that in KitKat USB audio isn't supported?

It is not kitkat per se. To clarify, my post above meant G2 kitkat. This is based on my own experience. I use my G2 as music transport for my portable music rig. I can use any music player with my G2 in 4.2.2. When I upgraded to kitkat, besides the horrible hissing, I can no longer use USB audio out with any music app except UAPP/UARP. I have tried few stock ROMs out there on 2 G2's.
My friend's HTC One with 4.4.2 supports USB audio out natively. Not sure if HTC had added this feature or LG removed it on G2 kitkat ROM.
My Nexus 7 kitkat also needs UAPP to out audio via USB.
I heard that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 kitkat also supports audio out natively. This has been confirmed on the head-fi forums.
Sorry if I havr not been very clear with my previous post.

My Fiio E07K USB DAC working just fine using USB OTG adapter..
I'm using G Pro2 ROM though. But it was working as well on stock KitKat if I remember correctly
dmesg | grep FiiO

Meanwhile my generic Samsung dock I usually use with my Note 8 doesn't seems to fit with G2.

I mean, the G2 won't plugged in no matter how I tried. I guess the micro USB connector is different somehow. Not sure. I'm not taking any risk of destroying my G2 USB port, lol.

I haven't tried custom roms yet. It would be good if somebody can verify USB audio out is working with stock kitkat ROM.
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk

Usb dac and lg g2 kitkat stock
I can confirm that after I upgraded from the stock 4.2.2 to stock 4.4.2, usb audio to my external DAC no longer works. I am able to use UAPP though. Mine is a d802 model running D80220A-HKG-xx
I wonder if this is something that can be fixed without using custom roms.

[EXPLANATION] Why the Live Dock will never output video from the Xplay

Hi there.
I see that there's still people that thinks that with the Live Dock you can use the Xplay on the TV. That's why I made this thread just to explain better how the device works and why it's impossible to have video ouput with it.
First of all, this is the Sony Ericsson Live Dock:

}
This dock enables to use some Xperia phones with a PC keyboard or a PC gamepad for using them on a TV. It has a micro usb cable to conect to the mobile, and two ports on its back: a normal USB port to connect the wireless reciever of a the keyboard+mouse combo or a gamepad, and a micro usb connection wich I thought it was to output the video through some kind of microUSB-HDMI cable.
For its presentation, Sony Ericsson made a video showing the device:
With this video I, and I think some more people, thought that we only would need to connect the dock cable to the USB connection of the Xplay and we would be able to use our dear smartphone on a TV. But without seeing a logical explanation, I saw that the Xplay was not compatible.
That's why I thought angry "why the hell the XPlay is not compatible? It has a USB connection as the other compatible Xperias!!!"
But some time later, Sony Ericsson made another video, wich explained better how the dock works:
As you can see on 0:24, the dock doesn't output any kind of video, the video is outputted directly from the mobile through its HDMI connection. So the micro USB connection on the back is just to charge the smartphone while using it on the dock.
So that's it, the Xperia Play cannot output video with this dock because it hasn't got any video output xD
------
Sorry, this explanation may have been a bit obvious for some users, but until I saw the second video I was still thinkig that video output with this dock on the Xplay would be possible some day, and seeing that there's people that still thinks this, I thought it could be a good idea to clear all doubts.

[Q] Motorola Mini USB to HDMI ? will defy support this ??

I'm unable to post the outside link so pls search this on google
"motorola 1080P HDMI CABLE (15FT)"
Saw this on motorola shop
can defy support this?????
pls Reply ASAP
It's not possible to use the Mini-USB as TV-out on your Defy. So the answer is no.
aww...is there any possible mod for cm7 and miui so that tis could work on defy?

as said before... no!
it`s not mini-usb it is micro-USB and it`s not possible to use it as TV out. Anyone who want`s TV out should have proper output jack. Devices that support that kind of cable have micro-USB and micro-HDMI port`s so it`s not the same port!!!!
To see what I`m talking about just look at the second picture od Atrix:

There are 2 kind` od jacks, micro-USB for data transfer and charging, and micro-HDMI for video output.
you're wrong. tv output through the usb port is possible, just look at the galaxy s2. but the defy doesnt support it. its chipset would, but its hardware-disabled... -.-

so you mean if we "unlock" the bootloader, then we can write custom drivers for this to make it work? like in the sgs2 using an mhl adapter? or even using 3.5mm to output AV like some nokias do?
OH man, if yes, i would be on the top of this world.
tv out is the thing that most important to me on the phone... I've had an N8 before my Defy, and I had used the tv function alot!
i was searching alot on the Internet for a tv-out solution for the deft, but came out with nothing...
I'm only using Defy beacuse I got it for free...
Try the green cirkel ico "Media Share" if you can, can test it myzelf because y dont have the wifi stick for my led-tv ,y read thats the way whit this phoon it can do so. Y now what you mis on the Defy, same here on my Nokia C7, **** symbian but some nice gadgets like tv from the headpfoon plug, special when gaming, super big screen here on 47" tv en nice to via usb on tv use it like a hard disk.
Sorry for the bad typing, ym Dutch and Eng. is dificult here for oldie (56)

help please
Are you using stock firmware or custom one?
It doesn't work because you bought a micro B to usb A cable but you need a micro A (with 4 right angles) to usb A like this :
.
I know that because I bought the same type of cable than yours and it's not working .
@mavasilisk: stock firmware
@Starman: i am not sure it would fit. cable that was in package when i bought tablet was with this type of connector that i have now.
Yes and that is for connecting the device to a computer.
What you need is called an OTG cable and that looks exactly as starman said.
The Nokia ca-157 looks similar to the cable you bought but is has the right "end".
Well, today i have tested this nokia ca157cabel. Doesn't work.

Then either your usbport is broken, or the device you want to connect tells that it needs more then 100mA.
When i connect my tablet with my computer, file transfering works i both way, computer recognize it normaly. Is there any other way to se if usb is broken???
Sent from my A70S using Tapatalk 2
No, then your stick needs more ( or at least tells the archos ) more then 100mA.
Did you try a powered Hub?

Powered hub is something that i was planing to do next. Usb stick is not so important because there are always sd-cards, but i want to buy one of those keyboard with leather case from e-bay and i am not sure if that will work.
Sent using Tapatalk 2
Try the hub, if that works, then it is the powerconsumption of the stick and the keyboard is working.
Or try UrukDroid, as this raises the output and is able to use most sticks.

ok, i have UrukDroid & i have nokia cable ca157 and it is still does not working.
problem is that every powered hub that i find is HUUUGE and have 5-10 usb ports, and i don't need that much.
EDIT
i did it. i made my own "usb powered hub". ok it is far from it but actualy it works.
in micro usb i connected pins 5 and 4
only thing diferent, is that i put external power on vcc. and.....it works.
nokia ca157 DOESN'T works so don't use it. waste of money

I guess the Usb Port on your pioneer is only for memory sticks or USB hard drives, not for a smartphone.
It won't work

I had the same issue with all of my car's usb posts
They're built for Apple.
Or may work as a very basic card reader.

try to get an app to enable USB mass storage, it will turn your phone like it where a usb memory, and probably your car audio will recognize all the files inside your phone.
No way!
You need the Compulsion kernel V 8 and a UMS App like storage ENABLER!
This app only mounts the external sd.
Just the App didn't work.

I remember when it was old version android when you plug in the usb connection it pops up a menu that let you choose mass storage / media sync / modem
But now it doesn't do that with KK 4.4.2 this ready sucks! Now I have to sync up my phone for workout and sync My flashdrive for my ride music.

I'm wondering how I could possibly find a driver for my rooted S5... or
maybe find someone who could make one for me and I could pay them.
thanks!
I've got an AX88772B base adaptor. power and LAN LED both light up (S4 mini they stayed dark)
but the S5 provides no indication that it recognizes the Ethernet interface.
Wrong adaptor or is S5 unable to use USB-Ethernet dongles at all?
Is there any USB-Ethernet adaptor known to work with an S5 ?
Um, you can just plug the phone straight in to your comp with the charging cable and enable USB tether, no additional adapter required.

True, but I want to plug my phone into a LAN cable going to an Outdoor-Wifi repeater
so that my drone gets better range than with stock S5 antenna power.

How do you plan on installing a driver in Android? If there was one
Pretty sure it would have to be baked into the ROM in the first place, although being rooted might allow it, but I've never heard of installing drivers in Android
Not to mention, the huge description of the item on Amazon states "For Windows Tablets & Raspberry Pi Zero"

All true, I'm sure. I'm searching for experience with a Ethernet-USB chipset that DOES work wiht the drivers of an S5, just like there ARE Ethernet chipsets that do work wiht the stock Nvidia android tablet.
Maybe there is none, because Samsung didn't bother to include any usb-Ethernet drivers in their ROM.
Or - perferrably - I'm too much a noob, to know that Samsung Phones support only XYZ chipsets.
So I'd need either
- a trick / hack / secret 8-times tap to enable Ethernet-via-USB
- a (list) of USB-Ethernet chipsets other than mine (AX88772B) that ARE supported by Samsung S5 w/o fuss.
Got any pointers in these directions?

Well I'd at least start off my search with one that says it works with Android
No idea if it works with the S5, and you'd need a Male MicroUSB to Female USB adapter too
