I was using my phone like any other day, and then I locked my phone and later on went to wake the screen and it wouldn't wake up. I did a "battery pull" (power+volume down) and it rebooted fine. When it came back on, I tried to press the button to lock the screen but to no avail. I went on and got smart screen on and it works okay but I'd like to know if any of you know what's wrong with it. It feels fine, clicks like normal. I haven't dropped it recently or anything. But sometimes, when I barely touch the power button, the power menu opens. I don't really understand that but if any of you have any help for me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Kinda sounds like a hardware issue maybe some pocket lint or something wiggled it's way in there... Take it apart and have a look..you would be surprised as to what can work it's way in there

Just suddenly began working the next day. I don't exactly know why... Maybe an app or something had it confused. I really don't know.

Dropped my tab while in its case. Now the volume button is weird. Its functional but its like really loose and pushed in. Its really hard to push it in. Has this happened to anyone else? And would it be safe to try and fix it with some tweezers or something?

Happened to me as well. It's only pushed down on one side though so I haven't attempted to fix it.

Yes, but is super easy to fix. The volume button is just a pivot that pushes two internal buttons. The pivot point mechanism is poorly designed/constructed.
To fix mine, i just popped open the case, and used a drop of household cement to glue the button back onto its pivot point. No problems since.

Hey there.
First off I'd like to say that I currently own a LG O2X but I'm planning to buy a N4 as soon as it's available again.
Now, to my question:
Let's assume that the phone freezes and it doesn't restart or react to anything you do. You can't take the battery out to reset the phone. What can you do to reboot it? That kinda makes me worry, as I haven't used any Android phone besides my O2X yet and I encounter this issue sometimes and fix it by taking out the battery and putting it back in.
Thanks in advance.

Hold down the power button.

Does that cause the phone to reboot? With a freeze I mean a complete freeze. Touchscreen not responding to anything etc. That includes no power menu when holding down the power button.

Yes holding down the power button is like basically doing a battery pull. Take like 6-10 seconds.

Okay. Whew. Now I'm relieved and can't wait to get my hands on a N4. Thanks alot.

I hope that's a somehow hardware implemented thing that can't go wrong no matter how ****ed up the software is.

Yeah same here. Otherwise that would be disappointing and annoying at the same time.

Hey guys, I just got my Galaxy S4 today. It's an amazing phone but I'm concerned about something.
The first thing I noticed is that the Power Button seems like it's flushed inside de phone and it doesn't provide a good click-feel like the Volume buttons. It's kind of mushy.
Sometimes I don't know if I pressed the button or not. It doesn't feel like clicking, it looks like it got stuck a little inside the phone.
I would like to know if anyone feels the same. If not I'll go as soon as possible to the store and exchange for a new phone.
This is a fault. Take it back ASAP Mine feels perfect, Its slightly elevated from the phone and has a nice click feel when pressing
You do not look for a nice click, just for the responsivnes. Note it works best when pressed in the middle, also give it some time to bake in.

Alright, I'll give it some time and see if it goes back to "normal" (or at least close to it).
If it doesn't I'll exchange it for a new one.
There was a small piece of black rubber inside the button.
Pressing it multiple times was making it come out. The button now feels right again.
It's pretty wierd though. I'm just glad it wasn't anything permanent.
Hey everyone I have a problem that started to happen recently and I wanted to see if this happens to any of you guys and you fixed it.
About a few days ago my home button on my phone feels like there is some type of debris under the button. When you click down it makes a loud clicking sound and feels like I'm crushing down salt or something.
Has anyone had this problem? I tried using canned air, I tried taking a piece of paper and going around the edges, still no luck.

A thread about this already just have to search for it.
I've been playing with my note 3 for a couple of days now and I've noticed that my home button sometimes does not work. I can feel the physical click when I push the button, but the phone doesn't respond accordingly. So, I'll have to push again (and again).
Anyone else experiencing this?
I think I'll have to take it back for a replacement because it feels like a mechanical issue, not a software issue.

That's not normal. It sounds like a mechanical problem to me as well. I would bring it in for a replacement.
If anything goes wrong and you can't get it fixed or replace it you can use on screen buttons

I don't like the quality of the home button at all. It floats around and often becomes very stiff to push. Compared to my N2 and my boss's s4 and it's definitely not up to par.
Having a business account and dealing with the reps in my local store I'm thinking about going for a replacement device(without any hassle)...Maybe I'll check it out on the display models first.
Anyone else notice this?
