Just wanted to make sure folks here had heard the latest...look for the last post by a Sprint admin in the "3G Upload Capped?" thread (page 36 of the official Epic 4G forum at Sprint.com).
Sorry, I'd post a link but because I'm considered a noob here still, this site won't let me.

just post the update here with quotes, that way I can see if it's the same one I saw a few days ago and saw in a thread here
Well, Desi (Sprint Admin) first replies on page 35 after a bunch of us are ranting about this issue, saying:
"Wanted to let you know that the fix is still in process and I will update this thread as soon as I have a release date.
Also, I just accidentally deleted several posts (meant to remove only one, but removed it and all it's replies)...so if you have one missing (for no apparent reason), please accept my apology!"
Then after a few folks ask what exactly the issue is and how are they fixing it, Desi replies again on page 36 with:
"I don't have any specifics on the fix...only that it's a software change and will be released asap."
Can anyone explain what causes a galaxy to have a MF3 firmware. Mine has that at the end of the CSC codes and the other two codes in that list. It seems that specific coding in y firmware is preventing me from getting the Jellybeans 4.3 update from AT&t (THE MK2.) i CANNOT GET IT VIA kIES OR VIA ota. Can anyone offer some insight into this or point me to somewhere I can get some info regarding it. I'd also like to know if there's a [safe] fix for this or a way to change the firmware [without rooting it]. Just need some into. Thanks.

Scott, are you a moderator here? Your red bold statement in your signature is a little condescending. If someone does in fact read the pinned threads first, but doesn't understand them, they can't ask for help according to your logic. You are demanding they read and understand before asking for help. If everyone understood everything we wouldn't need forums would we. Take a chill pill dude.

The answer was sufficient and without any form of attitude or condescending tone. You have no room to be telling people what to do.
If the OP does not understand what they are reading, they need to make it obvious. From reading the OP, they are not doing the research. It is pretty obvious. I have been here long enough, I am experienced enough and have experienced enough to know when someone is not helping themselves.
Until you are more than just a junior member, I suggest you not tell people to chill when they do not provoke any member and provide the correct answer.

You should read the rules YOU agreed to when you signed up. If you don't like it, take it up with the site Administrator.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263
All members ARE expected to read and search before making posts. Providing people with the information I posted is the correct thing to do as ALL people are expected to read the "Pinned" threads before asking questions that have already been answered several times. The answers (and many more) are there. If you don't like it, maybe you should start another development forum with your own rules? And I personally don't care if you think repeating the forum rules is "condescending. People like yourself are part of the problem because you don't direct people to the information they need (and should have already read) instead you "question" those that do so, Replying to people like you is a waste of time, but, unfortunately, it has to be done from time to time so people can see the correct way of doing things. Have a good day.

I read the rules back in 2010 when I signed up. I have no problem with the forum rules being repeated in signatures, I think it's fine for those who wish to do so. Modified forum rules in signatures, is another story. This becomes an interpretation of the rules. As far as me being part of some problem, you already directed the OP to the pinned topics, should I have concurred in my post as well? I simply asked you if you were a moderator and thought your signature was poorly worded thus giving it a condescending undertone. I may have gone overboard telling you to take a chill pill which I would retract, but after you suggesting that I start another development forum, and that people like me are a waste of time I am not so sure now. I guess I am more of a rule 10 guy then a rule 1 guy.
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do so. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably quite a few people with less experience than you, who could benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.
What scott is saying is that, this question you presented has been asked not 50 times, but 100 times, and starting another thread with a repeated question is not needed, he gave you the location to read on the subject, so if you have questions then it should be addressed within that thread, that is the whole reason they were created. And 99% of your answers have been answered already. Not to direct this at you, but alot of people just start a thread to get a quick answer to which they are to lazy to read and see that the answers are there already.
His signature is just a reminder to people that, hey, look before you ask.
I see nothing wrong with Scotts answer.

The issue wasn't his answer it's his signature. I sort of feel the same way. I don't even see a problem with the text, bit of an a hole move to have it huge and in red. Especially since it shows up on all his posts. So even following a thread that is going good, if he is actively posting you have to see it every few posts for no reason. It jumps out at you too. As the first guy mentioned it would be different if he was a mod, but just some user, no matter how long they have been or how active they are, to not only take it upon themselves to be so serious about it, but to shove it in everyones face everywhere because the huge red text just jumps out on a page, is taking it a bit to far.
I woke up today to people hating me because I posted the SIXRom link on XDA. 1st of all I am sorry about that. I thought I was actually doing a favor but now it seems like the rom is down and a guy on youtube is saying I am a d*ck because it was my fault. I looked a the xda rules and I did not find anything saying that it was not allowed. Also it was going to go adventually down but I am not trying to put the blame on anyone. I am writing this to say sorry to all the people and to hopefully tell the guy who posted this youtube video Moderator Edit - link removed - you really want to apologise but put a link in again??? to stop telling everyone to blame me and that I am a d*ck because I am really not, I was just trying to help people on xda. I am also saying this so no one else makes this mistake and hopefully the sixrom dev will put the link back up.
Sincerely,
Tanksteel
Just got my February update. Disabled location, cleared cache in Google services framework and then checked for update.
Great.
Honestly WE DON'T CARE. You don't need to make a post everytime you achieve something in life. "Hey guys, just bought a new pair of shoes".
Do you want to flood Mi A1 forums with the post of hundreds of people just telling "yep, I just received a normal update, nothing special"?

I agree. These posts are useless. That's why it's Android One. There will be updates. Hope the mods close all threada similar to this and leave one thread open.
Time for backup, thanks for info.
How do you even come to a decision "I should make a thread to say i got a security update!"
THIS IS NOT MIUI FORUM! Please search and post in already existing thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/february-update-t3743872) of the same!
Damn that hate tho, you'd be a lot happier if this was Reddit with the downvote, the man opened a thread to share info, it helped me, it will help others, it's a question n answer forum ffs.
Edit: where's the crying Cartman gif
It's NOT about "hating" it's that people seems so bloody eager to flood the forums with similar threads!
There are already at least two-three different "feb udate threads" if not even more...
Try: 1. search, 2. browsing around for two minutes!
Please moderators close this one as well..

I disagree and I thank the OP once again for giving me info and exact steps he used. I haven't seen another thread and I'm an average visitor of this subforum, why would I use search? Why would I even think about Feb update? I was thinking about it yesterday, not today, but this post reminded me, for which I'm thankful. OP posted a thread on a subforum, I saw it, others will too, no need for salt, if you really want the post to go down, just don't post a reply and magically the post will dissapear.
Edit: there's a factor of SEO, calling the thread differently will make sure that people searching different terms on Google will run into threads like this. It's 2018, searching for anything will instantly spoonfeed you, why not for mi a1 topics?
I got it too! Without stopping services and broking the phone!
And NOONE REALLY Care!!!
Stop posting stupid threads!
Please use the search button before making same topic. We already have an active thread for this. Please save xda from the same crap that is happening in the Mi Forums.
At least my phone notifies me when the update is available...
Regardless of pointless and repetive threads.
Thread closed as it goes nowhere.
Also there are many thread regarding the same topic
@[OP] please search before posting.
Regards,
Vatsal.

This is another very long video with a lot of good information about the N20 Ultra, however, it is 58 minutes long. So you might want some popcorn to go along with it.

You could have posted a summary or TLDW for those who would rather not sit through a video and would rather read instead.....

You should stop expecting people to do things for you to make your life easier. Come out of your entitlement and do it yourself if you want to help.
OP Thanks for sharing.

Its never too late to educate yourself, see This LINK - something you can learn today about this being a forum and Reddit being ..............
You can report it as much as you want. Looks like you do not understand English, based on the forum rules this is appropriate. Since you did not understand the first time, you kind of reinforced what i said to be appropriate by reporting the thread, you are entitled. Come out of it. Also learn to read, the topic does say whats inside the video and there is a brief about why the OP was sharing. Another thing is if you see the context of the rule, that external copy paste is to avoid copying other people's work, how else will you share a video link (SMH). This sort of information sharing is perfectly fine lets see what the mods think.. @android-incredible i am with you on this.
Greetings to all. Just wanted to drop in to please ask everyone to stop criticizing the OP, and each other. Either report the issue that your not happy with, or just ignore it. The XDA Moderator Staff would be grateful if we didn't have any "vigilante" moderators on the forums. I have added a description to both of the posts in question, so please let this be the end of it. Thank you for your cooperation, and a pleasant day to all.
