Maybe this thread will be lock soon but i just want to share my own review opinion of Galaxy S3 and comparison with the One X which I owned before.
I Had HTC one x also and now im using my S3 for 3 days now..I confirm thats S3 is snappier and more fluid. The software of S3 is great improvement,it is simply beautiful than the cartoon like of touchwiz 4, samsung has made it like 50% STOCK ANDROID and customized it with 50% touch wiz nature UI. The widgets are simple and they added new looks in calendars(now S-planner),S-memo,Dialer,music player, gallery and video player. I think touchwiz nature UI is better thans sense 4 because its much simple to use and has simple look.
Another advantage of S3 is it did not stick with the offering of android OS, it added great features which are really useful. that pop up video is really cool, and smart stay is very useful.
The Camera is impressive too,its better than on HTC one X, S3 wins camera department hands down. Speaker quality i think is louder on S3 and samsung has mixed it with some bass .HTC one x has cleaner speaker sound but it may sound like tiny.In terms of display they are both good but i think S3 has some edge here the colors are vivid not over saturated as on touchwiz 4,in both htc one x you cannot see pixels. the advantage of One x is here is that it has better whites, but S3 is impressive. They both perform well on sunlight/outdoor, S3 is slightly better.
In terms of physical design, I think both are beautifully simple. But for S3 you wont be impress with the design until you see it personally and own it. I may say that its design is clean and minimalistic, the material used are plastic but it does not look cheap as the previous samsung galaxy phones. The look will sink in to you each time you used it and the back cover/ design is not that really bad its just the same as One X they are both clean. the advantage of S3 on looks is that the its livelier because of its glossy finished, while the Ons X is dry because of mat finish.
Battery is better on S3 i posted my stats below after my first full charge of the device.I had almost 17 hr before it went to zero, the display time was 4hr 28min.
Another thing i noticed on the display of S3 is it slightly curved on its side flashing to the silver lining..the phone built quality is great too no cranky sound like I had on my One X display and no gaps which collect dust and causes backlight leaks like on htc onex. And you will not wipe the display each time after using it because its not finger print magnet..
I think you will not really be satisfied with The S3 until you have it in your hand personally. I was one of those disappointed when i saw the design on its announcement, but when I had it 3 days ago all negative things became POSITIVE..
Here is a sample photo in low light.
Congrats on your new phone. Wanted to ask if the Marble White phone surface has "ridges" similar to that of the Pebble Blue or does it appear as solid white ? Also would you happen to notice if the phone has S Memo ( asking because I've heard of a C-pen accessory compatible with the S III ) ?
Was that image taken using s3, the ball looks blurry. does S3 has any settings in the camera app to adjust the shutter speed?
Thank you so much for your impressions emorej. I'm fairly sure this will be placed in the General thread but it's quite nice to read stand alone. The 4 hrs 28 mins display time is very impressive. I'm assuming you used it from morning to night before bed and the 17h hours last didn't include sleep time?
I'm really looking forward to the phone and will draw my own conclusions on the battery life when I get my hands on it but your preliminary stats do bring my hopes up considerably. Mainly because if stock 2100 mAh can give 4+ hours screen on time, I would love to see what extended batteries can do! 2600-2800 mAh please

How about the copy & paste? Did they just use the way ics does or a bit of customization like on the HTC One X?
I had owned the HTC one x two weeks ago and then just sold it for the galaxy s 3

Depends what effect you're after, but in this case that's what actually make it a good shot. The high shutter speed "everything frozen" look isn't always the best
If I wanted to be really picky, there is a small amount of noise visible in the darker areas but for a phone camera the quality looks really excellent.

Call quality
Hi thank you for your review, how do both compare in call quality and signal strenght? I'm in a low signal area and that will make me decide to go for the One X or the SIII.

they made copy paste simple and normal, option will just pop-out when long pressing like when changing wallpapers and adding apps/widget on homescreens.
@emorej thanks for replying kabayan Perhaps we'll be able to purchase the C pen as an accessory in the future.

Thank you.
frnds which one is the best ?
galaxy note 2 vs. htc one x
and why? better
...why
the gn2 is way batter than the HOX... no argumentation needed
depends what you want,
ive just moved from a one x to the note 2 and for me it was a wise choice.
the battery on the one x was awful at best, it would never last the whole shift at work unless i had a mobile charger.
the ui on the one x is much more pretty than the note 2 (i still really dont like that touchwiz [email protected]) but touch wiz has more features and can be customised more.
the screens are imho nicer on the one x, (ducks) expecially when put side by side, but on thier own they both look really nice so dont make that a deal breaker.
build quality is very nice on the one x, the note 2 is plastic but fills solid so no worryies there.
if your a very light user that very rarely plays with the phone get the one x (dont even think about gaming or videos), it will last all day and some if you dont use it, but if you want to use the smartphone as intended get the note 2, i run audiobooks all day with mine and still walk in though my front door with over 60% battery life, the one x would be on its second or third charge at that point.
memory is the other deal breaker for me know along with removable batterys, the note 2 has both of these removable the one x is fixed (iphone like). After 6 months of useage nearly of the one x i would never ever EVER pick a phone that had non removable batterys and memory again.
the other deal breaker is you cannot root the one x without (maybe) voiding your warrenty - htc cannot make its mind up to void or not so they put a may* in the terms and conditions, result being if you have a minor fault with your phone thats been rooted they will change the mainboard every time even if its nothing to do with it and charge you for the priviledge.
these are the issues i came accross look in the htc one x area and you will see excatly what i mean.
you just need to decide if the phone is too large - i fine it a bit cumbersome but fine to use as a every day phone / media player.

Why are people constantly opening such useless threads.
What is their point??
Seriously...this will go no where. Everyone has his personal opinions and needs. You have websites designed to judge that.
Just go to www.gsmarena.com or some other website for that..
Evwry mobile has its pros and cons and theres no point in just having a dog fight between them.

I could understand one x+ but one x doesnt even come close. At least the one x+ has a larger battery and a higher clocked cpu. It should be note 2 vs optimus G or nexus 4.

Not really, none phone comes close to Note2 now since it's unique. Huge display still keeping pocketbility, spen and huge amount of stock customisibility. I just moved from One X to this phone and this gave me long-time-WOW! feeling and One X wasn't anything new.

Well, seeing as the Optimus G was released, i'd say in terms of performance, that is top dog (the S4 beating out Exynos... although no S pen or cool features like S apps, etc). But of course, both phones are extremely fast (and some people dislike LG phones due to lackluster support)

Got one in my possession. Let pictures do the talking. :good: Won't give my views as they are both totally different devices but both are excellent top notch phones.
I will say this though SLCD2 > AMOLED! For daily viewing nothing tops SLCD2 at the moment however AMOLED has better blacks for videos and gaming, apart from the 5" devices coming soon SLCD3 et al.

Thanks for the pics, I have to say, the HOX has seriously large bezels (I used to bash on Samsung phones for that, but this latest generation fixed that problem).
This looks like one of the hot comparisions out there right now. Many of you are probably wondering if you should get the One or S4. I was in the same boat as some of you guys before buying the HTC One. I had been using a nexus 4 which felt fast and good in hand, but after breaking the screen and getting quoted $250 to fix it, i decided to buy a new one. I didn't even look at any phones other than the HTC One, Galaxy S4 and XPeria Z. I removed the XPeria Z from my list after hearing that the snapdragon s4 feels laggy on the 1080p screen and the screen is a little washed out compared to the other two. It was really hard to choose from the remaining two, but here are things that i thought were pros and cons of both phones:
Galaxy S4 Pros:
- Has SD Slot
- Has Removable Battery
- Processor is clocked 200MHz higher at 1.9GHz (Doesn't make much difference)
- AirView is pretty cool and would be pretty useful if more apps implemented (I don't think the API is open though)
- Faster unofficial updates since Google announced they would be providing updates for the stock version of GS4 which means the roms can be ported faster.
Galaxy S4 Cons:
- Doesn't have a premium feel with plastic polycarbonate body (the phone's plastic felt like the plastic used on my motorcycle's helmet)
- Has too many gimicky features that just take up space but you can never use (the eye tracking features are useless at night or where there is no perfect lighting, Air gestures are not practical for most people.)
- Only 16GB of internal storage (at the moment), and only about 10 GB is free for users to use, which means you cannot download apps that are more than that on size. Almost all big games on the android market are at least 1GB and can go up to 3, and if you install like 5 or 6 of them, you will be pretty close to running out of storage for apps.
- When i held the device on my hand, it felt slimey (its kind of hard to explain) as if it was dipped in some kind of oil.
- Phone speaker is tiny. I don't listen to music through the speakers, but while trying my friends GS4's speakerphone to call while driving, i felt like the volume was little too low.
- TouchWiz is really cluttered. I checked how many apps that i didn't need were installed by default, and there were more than 20 apps that i would never use.
- Periodic Jitters. The phone seemed to freeze up for a quarter of second randomly while using the phone. And sometimes the UI would totally skip animations. These aren't big things, but they make the user experience feel less fun.
HTC One Pros:
- Smooth aluminum finish definitely makes the device feel premium in hand and gives overall better hand feeling.
- Ultrapixel camera works great at low light conditions.
- The infrared blaster merged into the power button just makes the device look less cluttered.
- The PPI is the higest out of anything i have ever used. The display is so sharp that it looks like you are looking at a printed photo when you are looking at the picture on the phone.
- HTC Sense 5 is great. I was always an aosp fan, but they have optmised sense so much that i like sense better than stock now.
- Boomsound speakers are great. I never thought i would be using speakers to watch videos on my phone, but the boom sound speakers are so loud and clear that i like using them over my $200+ headphones while watching movies and videos. The speakers are something that you will not notice how good they are unless you actually use them. Head down to a Sprint or Tmobile or ATT store and try it out.
- Beats Audio sounded like a gimmick at first, but it surprisingly works really well. Some songs sound so much better with beats turned on.
- It has a built in amp for the speakers, which helps the speakers perform really good.
- It is iPhone smooth. No matter what you guys say, i had never used an android phone that could match iphone's smoothness before using the htc one. The galaxy s4 is smooth, but the one feels a lot more smoother than the s4 when using side by side.
- Call Quality seemed much much better than S4 on my tests.
HTC One Cons:
- No Removable Battery. This definitely sucks.
- No SD Slot.
- Still uses 4.1.2 instead of latest version.
- Only 4 MP camera. Way more than enough on daily use, but if you want to print a photo in really large size, you might want to look for a real camera.
- It's almost impossible to repair.
Well these were pros and cons from my tests. I ended up buying the HTC one after a long research. Here are some deciding factors and solutions for HTC one's cons that made me get the HTC:
- The One came with 32 GB which was enough for me. And since i have good network and unlimited data with tmobile, i could always use cloud storage if i needed more.
- The One supports USB OTG like the S4 which means after buying a $1 cable from ebay, i could just plug in my USB flash drive and watch movies and other things from there. This would save me internal space, and i could always use the usb if i wanted to watch a movie. This would compensate the non removable storage in the HTC One.
- The non removable battery in the HTC One sucks, but according to a lot of reviews it would last for a day with moderate use which was good enough for me.
- The non removable battery problems could be solved by portable chargers.
- Even though the battery is non replaceable in the HTC One, i don't think i will need to replace it for at least 2 years, and i wont be using this phone for more than 2 years. The battery is rated for charging cycles of 1000 times. This means even if you charge and discharge your phone completely 3 times in two days (which we don't normally do), the phone would easily last 2 years. And the 1000 times rating is the minimum rating, the battery could last even longer.
- The One has much more premium feel in hand compared to the S4. If you hold both in hands at the same time, you can totally feel the difference.
- Samsung's 16GB internal storage feels like too low for apps. Since you can only use 10GB out of the 16, i feel like i am going to run out of internal storage pretty quick.'
- The Audio quality from headphone port as well as the speakers is much better than the S4. I tried both side by side and One was far better in terms or audio quality.
- The display in HTC One seemed better than the S4 probably because of the higher PPI or samsung's use of pentile display tech. You wouldn't notice this if you were just using one of the phones, but if you had both phones side by side, the difference was noticable.
- The display on the HTC One works much better on sunlight compared to the Galaxy s4's OLED display. The difference is pretty big.
- I noticed that most pictures that i took with my phone were in low light situations. HTC One was much better in low light, even when the Galaxy S4's night mode was turned on.
- I actually liked the looks of HTC's sense compared to Touchwiz. Touchwiz just feels cartoonish compared to Sense.
Let me know if there are any pros or cons or any of the phones that i missed to mention above.
P.S. I am pretty biased towards the HTC one on the last part (deciding factors) since those were the reasons i got one instead of other. But i've tried to be as fair as possible on the pros and cons.

Thanks for the info. I thought Verizon did me a favor and gave me one decision with the s4. Looks like there going to release it and I will have a decision. I've read all the pros and cons and you really have to hold the devices side by side and I did that yesterday for the first time.

Honestly, both phones are pretty similar in terms of performance specs. But its the tiny little things that make a big difference. Try both phones and don't make your decision based on the fact that verizon doesn't have the one yet. Since sprint already got the CDMA version, verizon should be getting one pretty soon.
Yes, the HTC One is "feeling" good in the hand because of the aluminum. But how things works and functions is way more important than how things feels.
But that feeling comes with a big cost. Aluminum is spreading the heat way more than plastic does. And because the temprature on the HTC One is way higher than it is on the Samsung Galaxy S4 (according to NordicHardware here: http://tinyurl.com/brskpgw), then i wouldn't really say aluminum is a good thing to have on a phone when a phone gets that hot.
And good luck holding that phone under heavy usage, because you know, over 57 degrees celcius and aluminum is NOT gonna fell good in the hand at all.
You should write this down as a cons / negative side for the HTC One.

And if you would think about what you just posted, you'd know that heat dissapation is a good thing. Both phones have more or less the same processor, so they heat up about equally. The heat you feel on metal means that the heat is getting sucked away from processor and other electronics inside, preventing them from overheating. :good:

Maybe you should read about the new Pentile technology that are in the Galaxy S4 before you claim it's bad because of earlier pentile techologies: http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S4_ShootOut_1.htm
TLDR: The Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S4 are as good as the iPhone 5 screen is. It says enough.

When it's about PPI, then yes, HTC One are better than iPhone 5. But everything is not about the PPI on a screen.
Maybe you could find the article / proof that says the HTC One's screen are better than iPhone 5 when it comes to color accuracy?
HTC One and iPhone 5 uses the same screen technology (both have RGB stripes). So the only thing we can compare between those 2 are color accuracy.
And if you then can find me the proof that HTC One is doing a better job at color accuracy than the iPhone 5, then sure, i will use the HTC One over the iPhone 5 to compare the Samsung Galaxy S4's screen with.

Sorry if I'll make you upset or something but IMO the iphone 5 screen is one of the best LCD's out there.
It has excellent calibration, sunlight visibility is superior to everything out there (even better than HTC one), excellent viewing angles and very high (maybe even the highest) contrast among mobile LCD displays.
Yes, the SLCD3 (of Samsung and Sony) in the HTC one is excellent but it's not perfect and the only place it's superior to the iphone 5's screen is ppi. Other than that, it's on par or inferior.
Check it yourself, and I know I'll be backed up by you and any other person who've seen the iphone 5's in person.
BTW, I still prefer the HTC one display over the iphone 5 display.

If iphone 5's screen superior (or on par) than the HTC one's screen than we can bring comparisons (that already made) between him and the S4 instead of the s4 against HTC one which we don't have professional comparisons unless you count the GSMArena comparison (for example) which gave the s4 the winning spot in the screen part:

Why do you come here and try to destroy a perfectly good thread? The OP was trying to help others in the same situation as he was in, and he was not blindly butchering the S4. He had many valid points both pro and cons on both devices, so I don't really see the problem.
You tell us the One's screen isn't that good compared to the S4, but yet the only phone you compare it to is the iPhone 5. I struggel to see your point as this isn't an iPhone 5 VS One thread.
And for the dark screen on the S4: when you compare phones, you have to do it in stock condition. Not everyone roots and flashes.. In fact most people don't..
I still don't get the fuzz over the battery not being able to be changed. I personally have never had the need to change a bettery, and neither have any of my friends.
I guess this thread will be closed, but I kind of liked it and found it useful
Ind just for your information: yes, the One gets a bit hot, but it's never been a problem holding it, and far from any discomfort!

No, there's no a problem in showing the pros and cons of the devices but the list the OP listed is total biased towards the HTC one.
Almost all of the cons of the galaxy s4 and the pros of the HTC one was a matter of opinion and preference.
So yes, it's good for non-techy people to have such thread but not as biased toward the HTC one as this thread is.

The SGS4 screen was engineered with a pentigon style layout making the screen more green/blue than it should be , also making the whites more gray than it should be.
in reality the statments that you were bringing up do have some weight, but the SGS4 is a refreshed the SGS3.

Is there any reason that the only people who think that are owners of a S4?

Have you seen the professional test of displaymate? The s4 (in movie mode) have accurate colors.
The "diamond" pentile use different sizes for each subpixel so in the end you can get accurate colors and in movie mode it actually have accurate colors as stated in displaymate tests.

So my links that explains why the Galaxy S4 screen is that good as i say isn't any valid points?
I bring in the iPhone 5 because it have been the mainstreamphone to compare other screen on other phones to, because the iPhone 5 screen is pretty mu7ch one of the best screens out there (untilk proven wrong).
The fact that the display is perfect in some situations doesn't change the fact that it is s**t in other key functions. Not being able to use chrome is kind of a big deal for many people!
And you showed us a link telling us that the S4 display is s**t when browsing. Is that explaining how good it is?
Hello!
I have the HTC One for about 2 months and I wonder if I did the right choice,I am a 3 years old fan of HTC (N1,DHD,Sensation,OneX,One) ,the One was a natural choice and loved the design but for the 1st time with an HTC I am getting scratches and borders chipping easily, which make me angry when I bought it for 800$!
Even the camera lens scratched.
I bought the dip flip cover but it's too late.
I am tempted to go into S4 i9505 but I am afraid to lose the loud speaker for hearing the ringtones in any situations and the clarity of wallpapers.
If someone already switched from the One to S4,please tell me if you had any regret or feel you loosed something.
Thanks
I had a One for two weeks and then switched to an S4 . I don't regret it one second.

I have the One and the S4 and each have their pros and cons. I guess if I could only chose one device it would be the One. Both are really great devices I don't think anybody would be disappointed with either (just my two cents). If you switch to the S4 there will no doubt be things that you will miss about the One but the S4 will bring advantages the One does not have. So it's really 6 1/2 of one a dozen of another. It comes down to personal preference and what you use your device the most for.
I wish i could afford both, but the stereo speakers won it for me, also i was sick of the too vivid colors and constantly worrying about screen burn-in, I miss the deep blacks though, my last phone was an S3
John.
IMO u will get more than u will lose
the speaker on GS4 very good and trust me the screen OMG looks great its the best AMOLED display ever :good:
I was using both phones for awhile and finally decided on the s4 because of its bigger screen, slimmer and lighter feel. The one has fantastic speakers and a slightly clearer screen but the one thing I actual miss is HTC zoe. Most ROMs for the s4 come with modified audio settings so it is pretty loud. Take into consideration the one is smoother in operation however the s4 is quicker in opening aplications. I suggest you get your hands on a s4 to familiarise yourself with it and see if you could switch.

I sold my att HTC One when I moved to T-Mobile. I did entertain the thought of getting a Note 2 or S4 instead of a T-Mobile One. I viewed a friend's S4 with direct sun on the screen. It was a struggle to view the display. The One is iPhone bright... Viewable in direct sunlight. So that was the sanity check I needed. I have another One. And I use the video highlights and speakers several times per week.
If brightness is important to you, you'll be disappointed in the S4.

Even under the Saudi sun?
We tried ringtones on a i9500 and the speaker was really tiny compared to the One,but I am using xloud mod on my One :silly:
I loved Sense because it was the only Android UI with smart full screen weather animations and durability(of the body)
Another thing,I am using HTC Stereoclip in my car and the One gives loud BT volume,I hope S4 has the same loudness over BT

According to the UL certification the S4 got, the color accuracy of the movie mode of the S4 is the best on the market.

If you are getting the I-9500 Perseus kernel with sound mod is simply fantastic. The external speaker isn't as good but through good headphones no comparison, my I9500 sounds considerably better than my One (and louder). You can also make the ringtones crazy loud on the S4 they just won't sound as good because of the dual speaker set up of the One.
I liked the speakers and the rendering of color on the One more than the S4. I have the S4A now and I like the colors more, but the speakers on the One are full of win.

sorry i can't help u i didnt test it under direct sunlight ( cuz its not mine its for my sister ) i have N2 and the screen is good for me under sunlight
and about the speaker probably the One stereo speaker in nicer overall and u can use mod ( or costume kernel ) to rise the speaker volume on GS4 too
is it locked for HTC devices ? i don't think so or maybe u can use Aux cable instead
edit :
The display review of the S4 in movie mode, says it is total crap, and that you should stay in the standard mode, so i dont know about the UL certification.

I have switched and prefer it, bigger screen, removable battery and memory card are also a big factor in why i like it better
plus the s4 feels better in the hand than the one, with cases on both.

The All new HTC One (M8) will soon arrive :fingers-crossed:
And you want to talk about it :fingers-crossed:.
But all you could post would be off-topic to HTC One M7 Forum .
So here is the solution: This thread is meant as a catch-all thread for HTC One (M8) related stuff. It is accepted by moderating staff and will be in place until the M8 will get its own forum. Then it will be moved there.
Here is how it will work:
- Only post M8-related stuff here, no comparisons, no off-topic.
- All forum rules of HTC International forums apply
- Post ALL M8 related stuff here. Do not open new threads as they will be closed eventually by moderators.
MOD Edit: Examples of things allowed in this thread:
- Release dates
- Hardware speculation (no comparisons)
- Software speculation (again no comparisons)
- Leaked Pics/Vids
Please stick to these simple things and you will be able to talk about the next big thing without getting your stuff removed or closed.
Cheers guys

Any word on if there will be a Google Play Edition?
Usually how long does a Google Play Edition phone release after the carrier versions?

No answer available yet afaik. But I bet there will be one. And as the One was the first HTC that had a Google Edition, there is no "usually" yet. The "Google Edition" in principle was invented after the One (M7) was released, so I guess this time it won't take long.
Thanks
I'm just curious about two things. Battery life and camera quality. These are the two things that really irked me about my One. SD card looks like it's there but I can manage with 32gb on the phone. I just want a battery that lasts long enough. I see people on here getting 5 hours screen on but only with WIFI and/or having brightness at 0.
As for the camera. I hardly use it since its gone purple and I haven't got a spare phone to send it off. Also the low megapixel count really was an issue when looking at pictures on a PC or TV. Fine for Instagram and Facebook but thats it
Watched viral video of HTC One M8
I found these changes good & bad according to me
GOOD
SD card
Dual rear camera
Big battery
Next level single piece aluminum body
Notification light position & style
Power button placement
BAD
No beats audio (I know mini max was without that & beats gone)
Headphone jack at bottom huh
HTC bezel still there with same size and onscreen button ( developers looks like a fool ) best way make HTC glowing & function as home
Setting no color all white ( this is not 1956 B/W TV )
Some people also expected fingerprint scanner
Back looks more round not good for put on flat surface and use
Some also expected water resistant body

Upgrading to the M8?
What I like: 3 gig of ram, SD800 processor, SD card slot. What I really don't like is the onscreen buttons. I use Nova Launcher and have my M7 configured 6 rows by 7 columns. The 7th row is the dock. But with the M8 it may not be possible to get 6 rows because of the space the onscreen navigation buttons take up. I may not be able determine the number of useable rows until I get the M8 in my hands and install Nova launcher. When you are short on space, the icons will partially cover up the text below the icons. Anyone using Nova launcher have any thoughts on this? Here is my present homescreen :

Got to say from the leaked video everybody seen there's really nothing that's going to make me want to upgrade, I mean to be fair it's last year's hardware and same screen, except camera, i feel the design has taken a step back really only thing I liked was the gunmetal colour, yes it will have bigger battery better camera and be a bit quicker +sd , i suppose what's really annoying me is the on screen button's, just doesn't make sense having on screen and still having the part with the htc logo, was really looking forward to it and all, think I'll be giving it a miss
Yeah I don't know why they messed it up with keeping the HUGE bottom bezel with on screen buttons. Will still probably get one

Another "meh, me too" here. Woohoo - green blink feed . You can see from my list below how many HTC's I've had and also bought for the rest of the family too, son, wife, managed to get HTC as the phone of choice at work too but with the ridiculously slow (and possibly broken) recent update, the complete lack of imgination which has gone into the next model (if indeed that is it in the video), returned units for purple tint this year, I'm gonna have a look around the competition this year and throw some money at them for once. Not good enough htc (from last year and what appears in that video), sorry.

I've got an M8.
If anyone needs something from it's ROM you can PM me.
It's S-OFF. If someone tells me how to backup the current recovery i will try and install TWRP and make a nandroid backup.

Is that bottom bezel really like that or is this just the developer (I know it's there wishful asking lol ). Do the onscreen at least dissappear in the browser ?

I personally won't be getting the M8 at any point. It doesn't really feel like an upgrade and I'm still just as happy with the One as when I got it.
We'll get the Sense 6 update on the M7 pretty quickly anyway + I've got no qualms with my current battery life or camera quality. Even expandable storage isn't something which would make me want to upgrade considering I'm finding 32GB to be enough anyway.
As I said right from the beginning (as can be seen in my review found in my sig), this is the first HTC device I've had and I've definitely been impressed so as long as HTC can keep up with this level of build quality and beast of a phone, I'll surely consider getting more HTC's in the future.

Was really hoping the phone that kid had was a prototype, but it's too genuine and finished looking, and also it looked like he had it for a while too, even though people got to see the m8, that kid and that video ruined it and i think that is the general feeling, I know the phone will be better but it shouldn't be seen like that for the first time, the HTC one was and is a great phone and a more mature and grown up experience, people bashed blinkfeed and the camera but most agree now that blinkfeed brings something different, other companies have tried similar but there not the same, and in fairness the camera is good people expect to much, just look at how popular that selfie at the Oscars was with what 2mp, did anyone say that picture was ****?

The onscreen buttons didn't dissappear while i was browsing. Only on the homescreen, the black bar with the buttons is transparent (see image below).
When the device is locked the three buttons are replaced with an arrow and you can swipe up for google now.
Also, the padlock supports swipe up to unlock, swipe right for blinkfeed and swipe left (for me it does the same as swipe up).

The main thing which got people liking BlinkFeed more was the ability to remove it natively.
Pre-Sense 5.5 I didn't like BlinkFeed and moved it to a different screen until a dev was able to remove it. Within a few days of the update and therefore being able to remove it without flashing anything, I really started to like it and use it much more often.
I understand that HTC wanted to force it upon people so that they'd like it BUT they'd have had more success if they had that feature from launch.

Hate to hear that about the browser. So they made the screen a tad bigger but will actually have less real estate to browse with in actuality. I wish they would have left that part alone. Also the pic can't open?
