Hello guys,
I wanted to that I've managed to get USB OTG almost working!
The problem is not in hardware but in software (kernel) and in the near future I'm sure we will be able to fix it!

How have I done this?
I've just forced kernel to send a voltage from battery to USB port like this:
abx500_set_register_interruptible(&pdev->dev,AB8500_REGU_CTRL1,0x81,0x01);
What's wrong with it?
Well... It conflicts with battery driver and can be really dangerous, after USB device is disconnected the current keeps flowing to USB port and back to battery so the phone thinks that it's being charged.
What has to be fixed?
We have to port full battery and USB driver from Xperia devices.
But now I'm 100% sure that OTG on our phone is possible in the near future!
Stay tuned for more info, not only about OTG, but also about the future of MaclawStudio.
Cheers!
I'm trying to contact you for few days.
Please, answer to me. I'm ready to open our sources, but please, answer your phone dude. Even if you want to leave, we should talk about that.
I'm ready to do anything you wish and you know that. Let's talk about this future of MaclawStudio what you've just mentioned.

Hello guys,
Maybe some of you know me, I'm Marcin - the guy who stood behind every single MaclawStudio release and the ONLY MaclawStudio developer.
Now I decided to abandon MaclawStudio, I will tell you later why. I'm sick of Maclaw lies, fake changelogs and closed sources and I want to become a part of true XDA community. I want to share my sources and cooperate with other open-source developers.

Samsung Galaxy Note WIKI
Hi all
I have created the Galaxy Note Wiki. I find that if they are updated, they can be a great source of information to all. Please help to keep it updated, as it helps out note newbies and cuts down on them opening new threads in the forum.
This helps to keep the clutter down on the main forum, so makes it easier for us all!
Please update it with any thing you feel is valid. I will leave this thread open to discuss Wiki issues.
Hope its useful
Your friendly Note Moderation Team
Great work! I really like the idea of having all GalaxyNote-relevant stuff on one place.
My only thought is that it is geared to the N7000 specs so far. But understandable since the I717 isn't even out yet. But it looks nice and could be a really awesome resource.

Well done. Thanks for the effort.
Maybe GLONASS should be included in the specs list.

Dirty micro usb connector
Might want to keep this one handy. It's shown up on multiple discussion
groups. "phantom" USB connections. Device will think it is connecting,
disconnecting. If it isn't a damaged USB port, it might just be contaminated.

After hitting it with a can of air to remove the dust/debris, I found a green
substance, shaded here in red, of contamination of the pins 4 & 5, which
according to the microusb wiki, is used for ID and or cable connection to
alert a device of a cable being connected.
Pulled the battery, dipped a LINT FREE cloth in alcohol, cleaned it, let it
dry, then hit it again with a blast of canned air, now it looks like this!
Not one issue since Monday.

guys lets have a poll on how badly we need a USB HOST KERNEL ... a TRUE OTG DRIVER ..
which connects USB Devices through a USB OTG CABLE to our beloved SGS i9000 WITHOUT any external power source.
I love the idea, but is it possible? I mean with the hardware we have in our SGS
guysss ...
just think of the NEED of this KERNEL ... we would not be using our Pc's to backup or transfer files or important data .. like backups from Titanium after this ...
we would not be dependent to any other device after this .. just our i9000 a cable and a USB device thats all ...
and many manyyy manyyyyyyy more ....

it is possible for sure ...
we already have a CUSTOM KERNEL for SGS .. which is working .. but it requires an external power source to get your devices visible on the phone and one app as well required ..
while SGS2 has this feature built-in ... and doesnt require any extra power source or any app.
LOOOOOL, WTF is this?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
you need no special kernel or HARDWARE (!!)
go to market and search for "hamster wheel"
it delivers enough power so there is need of an ac adapter as well </trolling>
Spam thread?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the way I see this post is ungratefull for the dev's who have put a lot of hard work in bringing you what we have so far and for it to work as well as it does so far.
The ins and outs are posted here and all relative links to the why and why nots.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450298
Have a bit of courtesy and respect rather than start up a thread that moans about something that is already being worked on.
I would like to see it be possible without external p/s but starting it whine poll is not going to encourage anyone to go faster with the development. If I was a developer I'd be almost inclines to drop it or tell you to buy A NEW PHONE if you want that functionality that badly.
By the way if your happy with the work they have already done dont forget to hit the thanks button for them.
nice.........
yes, surely wants this feature........
it ll help in minimizing pc use for transferring data...
& opens a whole new world of possibilities

this thread and voting is just to motivate the dev's ... not for any other purpose .. i know the whole scenerio .. who is working for it and who made efforts .. this is not a psychology lesson class so dont give lectures here plz ...
i believe XDA has freedom of speech .. as we all support open source ... so i believe we r all open to have our opinions and discussions to make ...
and i was not targeting any specific dev. in my thread .. this was just to let all see and dev's as well .. that how much interest our crowd has in this ... and it'll be a great achievement by the Dev's ... i respect all Dev's ... i am follower of them ... so there was no offense ... or any bad intension .. or not even i was trying to push this matter to Dev's .. i dont know why people just jump into threads and spread negeiveness what they have in their mind ...

XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is built from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".
Base : Jelly Bean 4.2.2 JDQ39E : FULL AOSP BASE FROM SOURCE.
It's Rockstable,Blazing fast.
and now Buttery Smooth too!

Installation was as always, only thing was the language selection, didnt pick germany automaticly, after i did that i had to wait 10sec. (laggy time) after that everything went fine.
The first day.
HeyTeam XenonHD,
As promised my findings for today.
Started this morning fully loaded, now 8 hours later I got 50% battery left, very nice.
Everything works, yes you read it well, everything.
No lag,nothing.
Gps fantastic.
Bluetooth over parrot,very good.
Browser,very good.
Sorry guys, you did a great job with this rom:good:
Oke,I have noticed two things.
When you put the phone in the charger when it's off the screen goes white.
I remember there was another rom that do the same.
When I run antutu, the phone gets after that run very hot.
I left my phone for just a half hour off,and put it back on and everything was just fine.
Oppo can learn a lot from Team XenonHD.
Thanks for this fantastic rom.:highfive:

I had one question always.
Can we xsp users multi boot?
great ! firefox on sp wow
No, it's a side project so it doesn't get much time. Release won't be for several weeks. The issues are not only on the side of device porting but also on the side of Mozilla. It is still under active development, unlike Android which is only released when it is complete.
Yeah, but of we get Ubuntu, it'd better right? But alas, no dev to port it for xsp. Same is for Firefox. As @Levered said it'll take a lot of time to get updates from the op if it gets ported

I'm curious, what are you guys 'eager' to see this?
The reason for no release is due to camera. From what I can tell the camera blobs depend on some Android specific parts which will never be part of FxOS (of course).
Unless this is solved then I will probably not release this for Xperia SP as nobody will use it without a functioning camera.
I'm considering getting Xperia E1 to continue this project as this hardware is better supported in FxOS and it also looks like the camera blobs do not have this limitation.

You caused it lol by posting this and showing a video everyone got all excited also you could just release non working build like many devs do with their custom ROMs: on some phones the phone might never have working wi-fi on custom ROMs (desire c fixed after about a year of tinkering) or if you check out the HTC one x custom ROMs they have a lot of stuff broken too!

No way, missing camera (and bluetooth) are missing features too big to warrant a release.
Besides, would anyone really permanently switch from Android to FxOS on Xperia SP if I fixed these two issues and released it? I'd bet money on it that people would use it for a couple of hours maximum, then realize they need the Google services that push all notifications to the phone.
(FxOS doesn't have push notifications for most things, pretty much everything has to be reloaded / refreshed manually, even syncing contact data.)
tested on older device..
I have already tested Firefox OS on my older Xperia E Dual device.. it kinda sucked.. I didn't like the way it felt and it was laggy and super slow.. maybe it is better here in XSP
AOSP is comming the next days ...
ATM - just RIL and NFC are broken, WiFi works, BT works, Camera works, Audio works. Rest is untested ...
Settings are broken aswell, thats why i was unable to take a screenshot of the Device Info Settings
After build has been published i start working on M developer preview ^^

I guess I don't understand either. Aosp has been on Bacon for a while now. Tesla is using aosp nexus 6 base. It's tweaked out and supports layers but built on aosp base. Is this something newer?

What's the issue? Wouldn't it be a good thing to have more than one aosp based ROM for this device?

There is no issue. Just asking a question. I don't know everything. Didn't know if this was different or new?
He doesn't even have this device. Why is a marker thread being allowed by an RD

Not facts at all. This is true for the development sections, but he's posted this in general.
Any news ? I really love pure AOSP without modification....
