I am on NAE stock rooted with MF9 bootloader (no Knox) which I flashed to a few weeks ago.
I have been having a weird problem that's getting worse... I have a lock screen with a PIN set up. The big clock above the pin pad is disappearing or is not updating to the correct time some of the time. The clock in the notification bar above it is always correct. This problem is getting progressively worse. Restarting the device doesn't seem to help. Other than this issue the phone seems fine. Any ideas?

I rebooted my phone earlier today. However, I had a very hard time entering my PIN. Apparently, the touchscreen's calibration was entirely messed up. I don't mean that my selections triggered action at a fixed point relative to my actual finger input, it was just seemingly random. Touching 2 triggered 6 and touching the "Emergency" button triggered 1.
I wanted to see whether it was a ROM problem or whether my actual touchscreen was messed up so I made a nandroid backup and flashed a different ROM. Everything worked flawlessly. Then I reverted back to the nandroid backup and obviously the problem was there again.
After a while I managed to enter the PIN and navigated to the touchscreen calibration tool with the buttons. Now the touchscreen works again but I discovered that the Window Animation setting was altered as well. Additionally, I noticed that the "SIM card changed" notification doesn't appear anymore after I boot up, which used to happen before.
That brings us to my question: is the ROM (stock HTC 1.6, rooted) messed up? Why did the settings randomly change and do you think there are more settings that messed up? Will it keep working in the future or will it happen again?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance!
That's strange. It could be a rom problem. But maybe the settings changed while you had the phone in your pocket. If push menu twice in 1 minute the screen turns on and anything can happen then. If it happens again I would flash again stock rom or another.
Thanks for the reply. It hasn't happened anymore, and I hope it never will.
Hey guys/gals!
I have been rooted since the second week and just started noticing this.
I have removed voodoo and still notice the same problem.
This is what happens.
The screen will go blank and I can still touch the soft keys and they illuminate but don't actually get pressed (as in I don't get the feedback). I wait 30 seconds and try to turn the screen on, and it will act like I just returned back from the Airplane mode.
This started happening ever since I used the clockr widget, oneSeven widget, and desktop visualizer to do the wp7 style icons. I am not sure if any of this caused the problem but I started having this problem since I started using these items.
Thanks for all the help.
Weird problem happened yesterday.
Restarted the phone and it took a little longer than usual. When it started up up the home screens were reset to default like i have just flashed with new firmware and contacts were gone.
I put everything as it was before but now the problem is that when i restart the phone, as soon as it does the soft vibration when the lock screen appears, it is followed by the 3 pattern vibration that you usually get when there is a FC. The problem is that the phone starts normally without any indication why it has vibrated.
How can i find out what is causing this vibration?
BTW I have Froyo 2.2.1 which Im very happy with. I re installed also the firmware and its still happening.

Yep, ADB Logcat
Problem: My vs980's touchscreen is at times erratic and sometimes will not register touches in the statusbar area therefore rendering the phone mostly unusable. This first occurred about 2 days ago but wasn't bad. It went away and i didn't think anything of it but today it's back and much worse. Note that i didn't flash any new rom or make any real changes to my phone in the period that this happened.
------------------------------------------------------
Info:
Phone: vs980 ROM: Xdabbeb's VS980 1.1.0
------------------------------------------------------
Symptoms:
-The screen usually won't register taps/downward swipes in the statusbar area.
-Pinching the phone tightly together doesn't help any(it had been reported that doing that fixed some issues that some people had)
-Phantom taps in the statusbar area (which cause the screen to turn off. this happens as frequently as 10-ish second intervals)
-The phantom taps/Unresponsiveness seem completely isolated to the statusbar area (i mean, to the best of my ability to detect, exactly the pixel space the statusbar takes up, i tried this at 480 and 400dpi)
-Knock Code will not usually work with the screen off. Sometimes it's iffy with the screen on.
-The screen seems to be able to detect swipes in a direction parallel to the statusbar (ex: i can move a launcher screen left/right from the statusbar area, but it won't register a tap a downward motion in the statusbar area)
-I booted into recovery and weird things seemed to happen. There seemed to be a few phantom taps(which is dangerous) I reflashed my rom and that didn't help.
-I left the phone alone plugged up in a window for 30 minutes or so. The problem went away for 10 or so minutes and came back. Not sure if that matters..
-When scrolling or anything involving movement, the phantom taps basically make it hell to do anything
-----------------------------------------------------
Things I've tried:
-Updating touch fw in hiddenmenu. It appeared to fix it for all of 30 seconds. Knock Code worked with the screen off. But then it just came back.
-Reflashing my rom
-Rebooting
-Wiping cache/Dalvic
-Cleaning the screen/Hands
----------------------------------------------------
What i haven't tried:
-Complete TOT back to stock- I really don't want to do this
-Any more ideas?
----------------------------------------------------
Help is very much appreciated
Hi,
I'm having a weird issue since I've updated to MM (currently running Chroma with the included kernel): almost every time I unlock the phone the clock on the lock screen displays the wrong time, only updating to the right one a couple of seconds after the screen has turned on.
I tought this could be caused by Doze and tried adding the clock to the list of not optimized apps but that didn't work. Is anyone else having the same problem? Any suggestion?
