I have a Nexus 10 that I have rooted. I want to stop my wallpaper from scrolling. Looking through the forums I find I have to be rooted or download an app. I cannot find how to do this when rooted. I do not want to download an app.
I do have something strange right now. Most of the time my wallpaper is static. Sometimes, after I run certain apps (not all) it zooms in and starts to scroll again. I then have to reset the wallpaper.

After some hassles, finally I have a rooted NST, and figured out how to add apps using adb wireless. All works well, but I have two minor problems:
The first is I have much difficulty scrolling through my apps. When I try to scroll, usually the screen blurs and stays with showing the same apps. Sometimes when this happens, a duplicate image of an app on the app page appears on the you tube page.
Why is scrolling through apps so difficult - sometimes it's ok but usually it is not? What is the best method for scrolling right or left on the app page?
The second problem is that of duplicates of apps on my you tube screen after trying to scroll - I'd like to delete them from this screen and leave a pristine you tube page, or at least replace a few with selected apps - right now I have several duplicates of the market app on this page. How to do this?
You have to flick faster to change launcher screens. Flicking slightly only scrolls the screen to the right or the left.
Hold down the app icon and then select remove, or drag to move it to other launcher screens.
tehriddler,
Thanks. I'll use these techniques to work faster with the Nook.

Could I ask a few of you guys do me a favor and try testing out some live wallpapers for me? I installed this live wallpaper and loved the way that it looked. The only problem I was having with it, was that whenever I power off my screen while at the home screen, the system hangs and the screen does not immediately shut off. Sometimes it can take as long as 30 seconds for the screen to shut down.
Initially I was using the stripped Verizon ROM and figured it could have something to do with that, so I went back to full stock and it was still doing the same thing. It's not just that live wallpaper either. Using just about any live wallpaper that is a little graphics intensive causes the issue. I have my screen locked with a pattern, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. If I use a normal wallpaper, the problem does not occur, just live wallpaper.
I don't know exactly what could be causing it or if the phone is just that way by design. I have that same live wallpaper installed on my Dinc and the issue is non-existent. It's not really a big deal, as I have some pretty sweet wallpaper pictures. But the animated leaves look sooooo good.
Noob here, so please be gentle...
I have Nova Launcher installed. I have verified that it is set up as the default launcher. Every once in a great while, I will experience my phone reverting back to TouchWiz. However, what is more problematic (more annoying than anything) for me, is when my wallpaper resizes itself (it will zoom in). The picture I am using as my wallpaper is from my Gallery, which I will crop down to size before accepting it as my wallpaper.
Has anyone else experienced this before?
I am at the point where I'm trying to edit my picture to the exact 1080x1920 resolution so that it never resizes itself again.
Thank you.
I was glad to see that in KitKat they changed the wallpaper setter to simply set the wallpaper to full-screen without scrolling if you pick one that's the right resolution, e.g. 2560x1600. So you can see the entire picture, without using a separate app to set it. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn't even get this right. It sets fine initially, but after some time passes, the wallpaper randomly becomes zoomed in/cropped like it would have in the past. Setting it again fixes it, but only for awhile.
Does anyone have any insights into what's going on here?

I have the same problem on my wife's Moto X with 4.4. If you find a solution, please share it on here!
I noticed this same issue with my Note 5.
And it's only this one wallpaper. But a paid one and one of my favorites.
The wallpaper works fine. Then comes root and modified stock rom and every time I open it I immediately get the crashed message for that wallpaper.
Any ideas on where I could start digging to figure out what's going on?
Any similar experience recent or in the past?
